Picket Cottage and Studio is situated on the western side of Carterton, a perfect mix of town and country. Only minutes walk to Carterton township and railway station, the Studio is nestled in a lovely country garden. Self contained with a modern bathroom, separate double bedroom and a combined living/ kitchen area. A continental breakfast is provided as well as tea and coffee facilities. The studio has a fridge freezer, microwave, TV with DVDs,Wifi and heating. Off street parking is available.

The space
Guests have their own private access and single night bookings are welcome, cleaning is included as part of your stay. Dont worry about washing the dishes, leave them stacked on the bench at the end of your stay.
We have a TV with a DVD player and a huge choice of DVDs to choose from. There is also a Chromecast which guests can use to watchTVthrough their phone apps.

Guests are welcome to make themselves at home in the garden. Make use of the bean bags and picnic rug, be sure to use the bug spray.

The Loft is situated in Carterton, in the beautiful Wairarapa. The Loft is a newly refurbished, modern, spacious first floor apartment - separate from the main house, with all day sun. Located above the garage, an easy walk up two flights of stairs brings you to your own private space. The space includes a separate bedroom with queen bed and ensuite and a lounge/dining area with kitchenette. A small balcony off the lounge allows guests to sit and enjoy a break with a view to the Tararuas.

The space
Included in The Loft kitchenette is a microwave, toaster, kettle, plunger, teapot and basic kitchen utensils.
Cleaning is included as part of your stay. Don’t worry about washing the dishes, leave them stacked on the bench at the end of your stay.
The Loft has Wifi , or connect direct into highspeed fibre internet and TV with Freeview.

Our quiet and private traditional character home is located at the north end of Carterton and set in large mature grounds. The home is spacious, warm and sunny, with lovely timber features. It is only minutes from local cafes, dining options and Clareville Bakery. We are central to all Wairarapa’s attractions and destinations, and very handy if you're just passing through the region.

The space
Our guest area is upstairs and is not shared with us. There are three bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, separate WC and facilities for tea and coffee. The primary bedroom has a queen bed, large private outdoor deck with views of the Tararua ranges, TV, and comfortable seating. The second room has a queen bed and the third a double bed. We are therefore able to accommodate up to six people (in three beds). An extra person can be accommodated in the primary bedroom on a single bed by arrangement.

Guest access
Guests have access to the appropriate number of upstairs bedrooms, the guest bathroom and WC, upstairs deck and off-street parking. Also the little tea station upstairs, and the breakfast space in the morning.

Other things to note
As our guest area is upstairs it will not be suitable for guests with mobility issues or small children who may fall down the stairs. We are a smoke-free property and provide breakfast of cereals and toast for guests to enjoy before their days’ activities.

Kererū Rest is in a semi rural position, enjoy relaxing on the deck or in the private outside beautiful bath.


There is a bar fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle.
Breakfast selection provided eg: muesli, bread, butter, spreads, orange juice,milk, teas and fresh plunger coffee.

This may work for travellers who don't plan on spending vacation time cooking although a gas barbeque is available (see photo)

Greytown is five minutes away providing boutique shopping and a variety of dining.

The space
Cosy comfortable boutique accomodation with views of the Taurarua ranges. The property is surrounded by sheltering trees attracting many native birds.
Relax in the outside bath listening to the birds settling for the night whilst taking in our magnificent night sky.
There is a heat pump for heating/cooling. PLEASE turn heat pump off when you use kettle/toaster as it may trip the power off. Queen size electric blanket on the bed .


The accomodation is not suitable for children .

Please do a double check to make sure you have all your belongings prior to checking out.

There is your own private entrance, sharp right once in main driveway with private parking along side accomodation.

Other things to note
The out side bath has gas hot water, a screen can be pulled across for added privacy, there may be the odd occasion when the weather may restrict the use of the screen eg: gusty norwesters.
Bath robes are provided.
The toilet is a waterless system, only difference is guys sit to urinate.

Please do not cook in the accomodation
eg: no gas burners, gas cooktops, or camp ovens.

This stylish studio, located right on the main road in Carterton, renovated with up market furnishings.
Only a 15 minute walk to fab cafes and restaurants awaits you with gorgeous linen on your king bed, and two king single bunks if you want to bring the children or a w.e away with girlfriends or the boys. Wifi, chrome cast TV, and a kitchenette are all a bonus.

*Please note couples and singles that use extra bedding will be charged a 30 dollars cleaning fee.*

Polished concrete floors, so in winter the floors are colder than normal we recommend bringing slippers !

Summer time in the Wairarapa we do have issues with ants we have our studio regually fumigatied for this but sometimes this is out of our control so you may see some around they are not "harmful or dirty". if you are not used to seeing these insects

NO PETS!!! i have my own pets and so I can not have extra dogs sorry

Private guest access with a lockbox attached to the sleepout.
Please park on the main road and use the gate upon entry where the guest entrance sign is i will send check in detials closer to the time of check in.

Other things to note
As i mentioned earlier you are close to our main house while you stay and we give you the privacy you need. The outdoor area is yours to use we do not share that space.

A 15 min walk to the local cafe and restaurants including the fabulous Balter Bar and Aunt Gingers Cafe also our amazing Carterton events center.

20 min drive to the wineries in Martinborough.

50 min drive to the local beachs and surf breaks, including Ngawi Riversdale Tora and Castlepoint.

A 5 min drive to our beautiful carterton 18-hole golf course and 10 min drive to the newly refurbished skate park in Masterton for all to enjoy.

We have free outdoor pools in the summer and only a drive away to beautiful fresh water rivers and bush walks.

Our stunning and comfy 1 bedroom unit can easily accomodate 4 guests, 2 adults and 2 children ideally. The bedroom having a queen bed with the option to set up our portacot is a great size so you will never feel cramped. The lounge/living/kitchen area has a set of bunks for the kids (please note the top bunk has a weight limit of 70kgs).
Enjoy some of the best views the Wairarapa has offer as our property is situated on the side of the Tararua ranges.

You will have full access to the unit which is on the side of our large "shed" with your own parking area.

Other things to note
As we run a business from home in the space above the unit and in the shed itself you might hear slight footsteps minimally during the working week. This will not affect your stay as the units access is separate.

Our rural shed is a spacious self-contained getaway with sun and views of the surrounding countryside.

It is best suited for 2 guests, but can accomodate 4, with a queen size bed upstairs and a fold-out sofa in the living room. A fold out bed is available for children.

We stock the kitchenette with free range eggs, locally made bread, homemade jam, butter, milk, tea and coffee. There’s a BBQ available.

We’re 5 minutes walk to the Carterton shops and near the railway station.

The space
The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed, day bed and small table under a large picture window with views.

Downstairs is a sunny living and dining room that opens to outdoor living spaces. The sofa bed can accomodate extra guests.

The kitchenette has a fridge, dishwasher and facilities for basic cooking.

There's a 4-burner BBQ available and an outdoor area for dining.

Guest access
Guests have access at all times and will have the guest space to themselves outside work hours and on the weekends. On working days, Hamish works from another room and would share access via the front door.

Other things to note
Guests may be aware of Alastair and Hamish as we use the downstairs garage, but we'll do our best not to disturb you.
