New purpose built studio. Clean, fresh and light, double glazing and insulation. Private with own entrance and off street parking. Popular Raumati Beach ( safe swimming, surf casting, water sports) is down a shared driveway one minute away. There is a small deck and sunny outdoor seating area. The studio is accessed up stairs so not suitable for guests with limited physical ability. Short walk to Raumati Village.

The space
Queen bed, sheets, pillows and seasonal bedding - duvet, cotton coverlet, wool blanket available. Tea and coffee provided, but no cooking facilities. There is a mini fridge in the studio. Bathroom has toilet, shower, basin, heated towel rail. Wi-Fi is available for guests. There is a small seating area with two chairs and a small coffee table. If wanted, we can provide a table and chair for a compact work station. There is a tv and radio. We have a wooden coat rack for hanging clothes and some hooks by the door. Beach towels available on request.

Other things to note
No cooking facilities available but Raumati Village (6-7 mins walk) has a good selection of eateries, take aways, a mini-mart and bottle store. A small selection of plates, glasses and cutlery is provided. A chilly bin available on request, there is a mini fridge in the cabin. We don't allow rice cookers, microwaves, portable cookers, toasters, toasted sandwich machines etc.

Our property is situated down a long driveway, surrounded by private gardens settled on a 2.5 acre block.

We are semi rural, so enjoy the country feel, but we are close to all amenities.

We have a family dog and cat that enjoy relaxing at our property, so no guests pets allowed please.

The studio is above our garage and is separated from our family home by a spacious breezeway/carport.

The studio has private entry access, with a key lockbox located by the entrance door.

The loft space incorporates the kitchenette, dining table and chairs, large TV and super king size bed. There is also a single
day- bed to accommodate an extra person.
Please indicate the number of guests when booking the space, so that we can prepare the day-bed if required. The bathroom is located on the lower level of the studio, down a few stairs from the loft. There are stairway lights that can be left on in the evenings for safety if required.

The kitchenette has a microwave, fridge, toaster, jug, glasses, crockery and cutlery.

Please note - there is no stove top.

There will be a small selection of snacks, some cereals, fresh milk, filtered water, and tea and coffee, for your enjoyment.

The bathroom has a shower and vanity, heated towel rail, bathroom heater, fan, and heated mirror. Included are necessities such as towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer and body soap.

The air conditioning unit is very efficient for warmth in the winter or instant cooling in the summer months.

The studio is above our garage, so on rare occasions we may have to access the garage via the auto door. There is a little rumbling noise when opening and closing. We will message you to let you know if access is required during your stay.

You couldn't be in a better spot at Paraparaumu beach. located in a quiet street, with off road parking and plenty of privacy in our little cottage which is great for couples or a single person who are wanting to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet together.
There are 9 steps down to the little cottage so, it's no good for anyone who has a physical impairment like wheelchair or walker.
The bathroom is between the bedroom and kitchen, but this can be closed off from each end for privacy.

The space
Not suitable for people that have problem with steps as we have 9 steps going down to property. We have a jack and Jill seat outside so you can sit and enjoy the fresh air and quiet surroundings. also a small lounge area inside where you can sit and read. there is a book library which we have for you to help yourself and swap a book that you have finished reading with another for you to keep.
The shower is only small so not suited for a real big person and the hot water is only a small tank so will only last 15 to 20 minutes a shower. If you like long showers, then the next person will have to wait 15 minutes till it warms up again.

A multi purpose contemporary space. It offers a seperate bedroom and bathroom. The space
The Bach is on the back of our property with private fenced area (use of our back lawn is fine too). The Gecko Bach is cute which means small but it is a lovely space.

A continental breakfast is provided for the first 2 nights of your stay with a choice of fruit or Greek yoghurt; a choice of cereals & homemade bread. Milk, tea, coffee is provided & condiments (eg jam, oil, butter, salt & pepper). If you are caught short in transit, we are happy to arrange to do a shop for you.

As the Gecko Bach is in the "tiny house" genre, it is designed best to accommodate 2 people. We have listed it at a Max of 3 guests; however, it can hold 4, if required and if you are prepared to be a bit "squished". The pallet couch pulls out to accommodate 2 people, with the bedroom (queen bed) holding another 2. However, we are okay with extras ( by arrangement) as long as you know that it could be a bit "squishy".

Also, there is a large covered deck which is an additional space acting as another lounge area, there is a gas heater and blankets outside.

Pets- The space is suitable only for a maximum of two smaller dogs (under 20kg). The deck & small courtyard of the Bach is fully fenced for your pet.
With the entrance to the walking track only a 2min walk away. Please note we have our own cat (Pookey) so dogs must not be let loose in main/shared back yard.

You can drive right up to the Bach front door, or park anywhere on the drive that you feel comfortable. As the drive narrows as you pass our house some guests park on the concrete pad part of the drive instead of all the way down. There is an outside bath on the deck of the Bach in a private setting. We also have a spa pool that you are welcome to use, just ask.
There are fruit trees that you are welcome gather fruit from (feijoa, grapefruit, lemon, lime & orange). Help yourself to veges and herbs from the garden too.

The Gecko Bach is a smoke/vape free property, you will need to smoke/vape off the property.
The Bach is not baby proofed so not suitable for under 3 year olds.
Pets welcome but space only suitable for smaller pets.
No hotplate or oven however there is a BBQ (outside), a toaster, microwave, air fryer, sandwich grill, rice cooker etc.

The guest bedroom has large slider doors that open directly into the
bowranda area, and this area can be exclusively used by the guests. The guest room also has privacy blinds on the window and slider door as well as blackout blinds for nighttime. The room is situated at the back of the house, away from the road and is quiet at night. There is also good built in wardrobe space with shelves and hanging clothes space. The room and full house is always warm with central heating, newly fitted double glazing and newly fitted insulation throughout. And if you'd like a massage, the bed can give you a massage at the press of a button. the bathroom is just a few steps down the hallway, all modern and spacious. A new front loader washing machine is also available in this area. A heat pump dryer is also available.
The back yard orchard and garden is wonderful for bird watching with Tuis, White-eyes and Thrushes that have all made the garden their home.

Enjoy the Bowranda space which is fully roofed and enclosed with plastic and shade blinds. There is a side gate that can be used as access to the guest room if guests want their own room access without entering through the front door. Plenty of parking at the front of the house with a security camera on at all times. The lounge is available at all times, the kitchen is available for simple convenient meals and hot drinks. Food can be stored in the fridge and freezer.

Lazy boy Couch in lounge can fold out to a comfortable double sized bed. if you’d like to use the couch as a second sleeping place please let us know upon booking - we will leave out linen & pillows beside the couch so you can use the couch in the day & the evening before retiring for the night.

My place is five minutes to Cafes and restaurants, Coastlands Shoppingtown and railway station (1hr to Wgtn and cake tin!), 10 mins to Raumati boutique shops and the beach. You’ll love my place because it is beautifully appointed in a tranquil country setting overlooking native bush. Ideal romantic getaway! Super comfy bed and great pressure in the shower! Double glazed so very quiet. Lots of beautiful birdlife.

The space
We have 8 acres with gardens, trees and lakes. Guests are welcome to walk anywhere on the property.

Other things to note
There are quite a few walks around us and we often take guests up on top of the hill where you can look out over the Kapiti Coast. Guests are sometimes lucky enough to catch my husband on a day of fishing out to Kapiti Island!

The Good shepherd church is a world-famous location based in New Zealand and it is known for its classic architecture with an amazing view which we took inspiration from. Shepherd room is our most luxurious room with a panorama view from the balcony along with an amazing view from the private bathroom as well. The bathroom room shower is equipped with a rain shower head and jets, along with a modern curved in ergonomics bathtub designed for relaxation.
