Off the comfortable bedroom is a lovely bathroom with a claw foot bath and separate shower.

Shy Studio is a cosy peaceful space at the rear of our 1890's settlers cottage. It has a separate entrance and is surrounded by gardens which allow for privacy and peace and quiet.

Our studio is situated on our property at Elmwood. We have a new swimming pool and grass tennis court as well as large lawn area for use on request. Parking available outside studio. We are pet friendly but there may be extra cleaning levy if animal hair has to be removed from unit.

Come and enjoy our new studio. You'll be close to the city, the ferries, lots of amenities and transport, while enjoying a private, bushy setting. Fully self-contained, separate from the house, parking at the door - you're perfectly set up for an easy, enjoyable stay.

The space
Our studio was completed late 2018 and still feels brand new (only listed on Airbnb in 2021). Your cosy home away from home is 25 sqm and has all the facilities you could hope for - enjoy fast WiFi (fibre), a 47” HD TV, Sky TV (your own My Sky box including sport channels) and Chromecast. The kitchen includes a small fridge/freezer, 4-element hob and microwave. We provide tea, coffee (instant & plunger) and milk.

You won't really notice but the studio is set up to live "off the grid" if necessary. Rainwater provides all the water you'll want and is filtered at several points, but there is also a filtered water tap over the sink with "town supply" water if you prefer.

An area we call “the orchard” provides you with your own outdoor space where you can sit at a picnic table amongst pear, apple, lime, plum and walnut trees. Like much of Wellington we’ve benefited from Zealandia’s good work and, having a lot of trees here, we have more native birds every year including tui, fantail, keruru, and more recently, kaka. We’re on a large property and there may be an opportunity to use other facilities such as a covered deck area, BBQ or the garage, or sit out on the hill and enjoy some wide-open space including a harbour view – just ask.

We have our very own railway crossing too, the only private crossing on the Wellington suburban network we believe. It’s completely safe to drive across if you observe the bells and lights at the beginning of our drive but because it’s an unusual scenario some people may prefer to park on our drive and walk across the tracks. We provide photos and so on with your booking-in instructions so there are no surprises and of course you stay safe.

The trains going past are the electric suburban units, no diesel engines or freight wagons. You’ll obviously hear them when you’re outside but the studio is double-glazed and very well insulated, so you won’t really notice any noise from inside.

We are just 5min from one of the best brown trout rivers in New Zealand.

The space
Out in the country surrounded by farm animals wild rabbits all protected, at our place. No public transport, but a train runs to wellington each day - so you can leave your car at the station. Great restaurants and vineyards all around us.

Greytown has become a Mecca for boutique shopping and has some great restaurants & cafes. We are a 15min drive from Martinborough full of wineries & olive groves

The Brambles is a lovingly restored 1800's outbuilding converted into a small cottage in a rural and peaceful setting. Great indoor outdoor flow to a private BBQ area, in the cottage kitchen there is a microwave, a Nespresso machine with some coffee pods & milk supplied, a 2 element electric hob and all the pots & pans you need to cook

The space
Our property is a 3 acre lifestyle block located on Udy Street, it's one of the prettiest streets in Greytown and a very popular walking route. Access to the Brambles is down a long driveway lined with olive trees and the property is not visible from the road. On the property we have 2 Dogs, a Cat, Chickens and Sheep. There will be some of our fresh farm eggs waiting for you on arrival.

The Brambles got it’s name from the wild Blackberries that run along the side of the cottage on the boundary to Pinehaven Orchard, feel free to pick your own when they’re in season.

There's a walking track at the end of our street that takes you through farmland and down to the river which is a great way to see some of the countryside.

We have a Maremma Italian Sheepdog 'Ricco' and a little white fluff ball called 'Nix' (Japanese Spitz) . They love to say a very enthusiastic hello to new visitors. We also have a Ragdoll cat 'Felix' and a couple of Kunekune pigs 'Frank & Louis' who also normally run up to the fence to say hi

So if you're looking for a tranquil rural farm experience that's easy walking distance to town then this is the place for you but if you're not an animal lover then it's fair to say that this is not the place for you ;D

There is parking next to the cottage down a private driveway, it is a 2min drive or a pleasant 15min walk into the centre of Greytown, bikes are available on request. **We can also pick up and drop off at Woodside Station by prior arrangement**

The space
Our property is a large corner site, on a beautiful green street, the main house is adjacent to the Garage and 'Pool Room' Airbnb, which is a totally separate building .

Guests have their own entrance to the space, opposite the pool.
Although we share a gate that leads to our tropical outdoor oasis, we are respectful and leave guests in peace.

Ideally 2 people is perfect however we can cater for an infant and can provide a portacot with bedding OR one child on comfortable single bedding.

- There is not a full Kitchen however there is a kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, plates, bowls, cutlery, glasses, mugs etc and Guests are treated to home comforts with complimentary muesli, milk, tea and Nespresso Coffee pods to get your day started.

Enjoy our stunning pool area- Magma Pool, so fresh and divine, swims November through to April (if you’re brave, the winter months too. NB - it’s not heated) and the Spa, which is available all year around, to warm up in and gaze at the stunning starry nights as we are lucky enough to be located in a Dark Sky Reserve area.

Of an evening, there’s the option of the beautiful, very inviting outdoor fire, which we welcome you to come sit, relax and enjoy.
A glass of wine or toasting marshmallows is the perfect end to an evening after dining at one of the many wonderful eateries in Greytown, just a short 5 min stroll.

When entering the main gates from the street, guests are welcome to park next to the Garage, there you will find a black gate directly in front leading directly through to our Tropical oasis.

Turn left to the 'Pool Room', and you will find the entrance door directly opposite the pool.

Note: Our friendly family may be seen from time to time, and use the spa and pool however will keep out of your way and be respectful. Giving you the sole use when you are at the pool area.

We have a gorgeous Border Collie - Oscar who has a lovely nature and is very friendly and does not generally bark also Milly our sweet 14 year old cat.
