My house is a 45 minute walk from the centre of town. If you require pick up or drop off I would be happy to help if possible. If you are driving there is free off street parking. Drive up the shared diveway. My house is the last on the left. De Brett's and the AC Baths are close enough to walk. There is a block of shops 5minutes walk away with bakery. takeaways, small supermarket and a liquor store. A bike is available and local buses go to the Town Centre.

Very quiet & nice room with Queen bed in a 2 storey house down a quiet right-of-way only 150m walk from front door to the lake front. Easy walking distance to town, cafes, grocery stores. It's a room in owners house; very light & airy house with an owner-occupier who enjoys hosting guests. Has lovely warm fire in the cooler months. Quiet & sunny back garden to enjoy a peaceful read. Car parking in carport adjacent to house. Breakfast is a help yourself to cereals, toasts & spreads.

The space
Bedroom is upstairs. Bedroom has one Queen sized bed ideal for a couple or 1 person. There is no ensuite but there is a lovely bathroom downstairs which is designated for guests use only.
Do note that there is another single room upstairs, which is listed separately, therefore should you have a party of more than 2 people they can book the single room under a separate booking.
If just you, be aware someone else may have booked the other single room - so you may enjoy the company of other guests - dependent on how social folk want to be.

There are televisions in the bedrooms and a main one in the living area. I have no Sky TV, just the general NZ channels.

During your stay
Happy to give advice on activities available around this tourist town. I do go out of my way to give guests their own space as would like guests to not feel unable to relax and unwind.

There is one sociable cat who resides in the house.
There is no cooking meals in the home but am more than happy for guests to head to the kitchen and make themselves a cup of tea or coffee. Just ask and I will show you where things are.
PLEASE NOTE: Check in is officially 3 p.m. This allow time for the previous guests to leave and for us to clean, change linens and tidy the place up before your arrival.

The Lowly Cottage is a cozy, self-contained 1 bedroom unit that sleeps two adults. It is free-standing and has a separate entrance, with a lockbox that allows independent access. Safe parking on site is provided. A sofa-bed can accommodate a 3rd person with prior arrangement.

Our lovely 1 bedroom cottage is a 5-minute drive to Lake Taupō & Taupō town centre. A dairy, laundromat, takeaway stores, and bakery are located down the road. Huka Falls & Taupō Airport are each 10-min drive away.

The hideaway is separate from our house, but if you need anything, we are generally around. We have 3 friendly cats who all love cuddles, 1 sticks around the room to greet guests, his name is Wilo (pictured).

The space
The area that you are staying in is a sleep out separate from our house, but attached to our garage with no internal access. The room itself is small in comparison to the bathroom which is big. The unit does not have a kitchen as it is very limited on space. We have provided a luggage rack, a shelf with basic tea and coffee, mugs, drinking cups, a kettle, a toaster, cutlery, and wine glasses.
If you want anything additional, such as bowls, plates, cutlery, wine glasses, extra tea choices, instant coffee, milk, or any additional bedding, we are more than happy to provide these. Either come knock on the main house door, or flick me a message.
During summer we have a fan available, as the room is lacking in space, we have this in the garage, and can provide it to you upon request.
Feel free to use the seating area outside the room, or the additional seats on the grass by the clothes line.

The whole bedroom and bathroom are there for you to rest and relax in. We do have a decent lawn, however, please be mindful that it is our personal yard, including vegetable and flower gardens. Please refrain from picking any fruits, vegetables, and flowers. We also have 3 cats around, they are friendly but they aren't fans of being picked up. If you are bringing children, please note that the cats do not like children and will claw you to get away if you force them to be close - I learnt that from experience.

Other things to note
There is a first aid kit under the sink in the bathroom, if you need any assistance, my partner and I have our first aid certificates and can assist in most matters. Anything serious should be referred to dialling 111.
Under the sink are feminine products that are there for you to use, they are free but please be mindful.
