Named after the previous owners who also grew up in the house from a child, this large 3-room suite includes a King size sleigh bed with a sitting area and bathroom with a walk-in spa shower. This suite has a connecting sleeping porch which has a bed swing, a daybed, and a sitting area. It is located on the second floor and sleeps up to 4 guests. (Stair access only for this suite.)
There is a second room with 2-twin beds (extra $50 for the 5th and 6th guest) with a door that can be unlocked and connected to the sleeping porch which connects it to the rest of this suite.

Named after the Openshaw family who purchased the home in the 1950’s, this bird-themed suite boasts a Queen size poster bed with a coal burning fireplace, a sitting area, built-ins, and two large windows. It also encloses a private bath that includes a walk-in spa shower with double sinks and a water closet. It is located on the front corner of the first floor, and sleeps up to 2 guests. It has a view of the side and front of the property.

This is the perfect place for quiet peaceful rest. This cottage house sits in the rear of a two bedroom one bath house. It has its own space, private parking, and outdoor area right next to the house. It is ideal for long or short stays and perfect for individuals who are traveling for school and healthcare purposes. There is a table for a laptop computers or writing. The bed is especially comfortable a Serta queen size pillow top mattress. There is a step in closet which is comparable in size to a small hotel closet.

The Henington House Gardener’s Cottage circa 1912, is behind the Historic Henington House circa 1905, above the Carriage House and in between the small Rose Garden, working Cutting Gardens and small Vegetable Garden. The Gardens most of the time, are in the midsts of a project or event prep, but guests are always welcomed to walk around and through them.

The space
The Gardener’s Cottage circa 1912, IS UPSTAIRS above the Henington Carriage House. The 400sq ft space ( sq ft is not including the deck) has a deck with seating, three bedrooms, a full kitchen and one bathroom (which not uncommon for homes of this era, you have to go through 2 of the bedrooms to access the bathroom.) The Master bedroom has a small sitting area with a smart TV. There is only one large closet and it is in the Master bedroom. Many of our guests have used the smallest bedroom right off of the Bath as a dressing area. Please note, we are in a historic neighborhood and district so the homes are NOT new and pristine. The HH Gardener’s Cottage is quaint, quirky and a sweet space, but certainly not perfection. If you like old homes we believe you’ll enjoy the Gardeners Cottage!

Enjoy easy access to popular shops and restaurants inLaurel from this cozy cottage. Our home was featured on HGTV’s HomeTown. While we live in the main house, we had Katie (contractor on show) remodel the two rooms behind us as guest rooms. We have added carvings to the landscape, a whole house generator, and a few places to sit and enjoy the outside. Our episode was called Woodland Wonderland, but better known as the Hobbit House. The Cottage is situated on the backside of an acre parcel behind the main house. A swimming pool separates the main house from the cottage. The property is very quiet, peaceful and private. Guest have a Separate entrance. We are a retired lieutenant from a California LE agency and his wife a retired teacher who give guests as much privacy as requested. We are a short distance from the Longleaf Trace and 1.5 miles from the Barn at Bridlewood wedding venue for those attending a wedding there.

The space
The cottage is a 600 sqft +/- 1 bedroom 1 bath that has an open concept with a fully equipped kitchen and a laundry room within the cottage. This is a small space so we have a TWO GUESTS ONLY. It is quiet and comfortable for those seeking peace and tranquility. There is a putting green next to the Cottage with guests having access to the swimming pool. The cottage is equipped with a small workstation for those guests working from home with full WIFI and TV accessibility via C-spire TV, Fire TV or Roku TV. The Property owners are as social as you would like them to be. Very approachable and responsive if you would like or will give you your space without being offended.

The Cottage on the Green is easily accessible from 4th Ave or Hwy 98. Guest have a separate parking area accessible from a double wide side gate entrance off of Joshua Dr. The Cottage has its own address of 76 Joshua Dr. Look for the address marked on the mailbox outside the gates to the property.

We request that ALL guests are adults over 21 years of age. The pool is 6 feet deep. No party’s or extra guests are allowed. We do not provide a lifeguard and all guests swim at their own risk. We will not accept responsibility or liability for any accidents.

With outdoor living areas, the front porch has a beautiful view of the large oak tree with reaching branches and Japanese Camilla Trees, plus a Magnolia tree! kitchen has brand new butcher block countertops installed by Hometown Handy Man, New fridge, Microwave, Stove,Oven, Keurig Coffee Maker and a washer and dryer. 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, a cozy little place to relax, and enjoy your stay, we love any group from a family gathering or girls trips, wedding parties to couples traveling together to Anniversaries. From ball teams to folks stopping in route to their next destination.

Our favorite spot is the large front covered deck where you can enjoy late night chats, eating breakfast, or even playing board games on rainy days sit and enjoy the blooming flowers on the many trees and bushes that surround the Cottage.

Nestled behind 7th Ave Manor is the stylish Mini Manor. A unique guest house secluded and tucked away with a turf area to play corn hole and relax while enjoying a glass of wine around the fire pit.

The space
As you walk in the mini-manor, you will find yourself in the living space. Plenty of seating, including a window seat, surround the television ready for game day or the latest episode on HGTV. Just beyond the living space is the kitchen/dining area with many appliances at your disposal including stove, sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, and drip coffee maker. Prepackaged snacks, coffee, and bottled water are also provided. Walk through the sliding wood doors into the laundry area and find a stackable washer and dryer complete with laundry detergent for your convenience. The bedroom, just beyond the laundry room, has a queen bed, daybed and trundle bed, and an additional television. The bathroom, inside the bedroom, has a walk-in shower and plenty of bath essentials.

The entire guesthouse is yours throughout your stay. You will have private parking and outdoor areas just for you and your party. As shown in the pictures, the home can only be accessed by a short stairway from the parking pad.

Downtown Laurel is a 5-10 minute walk along the tree lined streets past the homes of the pine barons who were influential in the early success of Laurel as a center of the pine industry. Our circa 1906 cottage recently renovated to provide a pleasant setting for your visit to Laurel. Queen sleigh bed under a vaulted ceiling for a restful night with French door access to the spacious deck. The living room has a queen sofa bed for the kids or extra guests. Kitchenette with microwave and Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge with freezer, full kitchen sink, dishes and silverware for 4, snacks and smart TV. Our cottage provides A/C and heating, Internet, multi device charging station and access to the storm shelter for the main house. Monitored security cameras cover the yard, parking area and entry door as well as motion detection lights.
