We use security cameras to monitor our driveway; there are no recording devices of any kind inside or pointed directly at any living space.

The Econo Lodge hotel is located adjacent to the Ohio Turnpike and close to Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom amusement and water park. It is minutes from the Boston Mills ski area, the Brandywine ski area, the Akron Zoo, the Northfield Park horse track and Cleveland Browns Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns football team. Kent State University is six miles and the University of Akron is 20 miles from the hotel. Several shopping areas are within minutes of the hotel. A variety of restaurants and cocktail lounge are located in the surrounding area. Guests are invited to enjoy amenities and features like free coffee and free local calls. Business travelers will appreciate conveniences like free wireless high-speed Internet access in all rooms and access to copy and fax services. All guest rooms have cable television. The hotel also features rooms with whirlpool bathtubs. Nonsmoking rooms are available. This is a pet-friendly hotel; a nightly fee is required.

If you're looking for an unplugged camping experience/family farm adventure, we'd love to share our cabin and farm property with you.

Although there is no running water in the cabin itself, the restroom with shower is a short walk (about 50 yards) inside the basement of our farmhouse, with its own private entrance. This restroom is private to your party during your stay.

The cabin sleeps up to six guests, who choose to "rough it" with many comforts, including a queen bed, a futon, and two low twin beds in the loft (accessible only by ladder, not for children under 8). All linens are provided.

Enjoy petting and feeding our goats and sheep. Interact with free-range chickens. Our hens provide eggs guests may cook for their breakfast; guests bring their own side items to make a complete meal. We also provide complimentary snacks and filtered water in a glass dispenser. There is a small refrigerator/freezer combination in the cabin (dorm sized).

If no other events are scheduled during your stay, guests have use of the barn gym with "full court" basketball (two hoops, not full regulation sized), air hockey, foosball, playground balls and other fun activities like indoor swings. The climbing wall is off limits to cabin guests.

We do not have a television in the cabin, and this is a purposeful decision. We have a selection of games, books, and puzzles, and there is much to do on the property itself, which features a small pond near the cabin with a paddle boat, kayak and canoe. In winter months, we have sleds available for the hill.

There is a fire pit right outside the cabin and firewood is provided. There is also a charcoal grill for cooking (bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid). Guests are also welcome to use any other fire rings on the property, including the common area in the backyard of the main house, which includes a gas grill, picnic tables, a hammock, swings, and a playground.

Free parking. Guests may drive along a grass/dirt path to park near the cabin (at your own risk) or park in the gravel area near the goat pasture and make the short walk to the cabin. The property is not handicap accessible and may be over uneven terrain. If needed, we can shuttle on our side-by-side ATV if special arrangements are made ahead of time.

The cabin is on the farm property where we live, but guests have their own private space but are also welcome to explore the farm property as desired. We aim to be responsive to your needs before, during, and after your stay so feel free to text us with concerns, needs, or celebrations!

This is a modern and luxurious 2000 sq foot log cabin with all of the finer features you would expect to make your stay with your family memorable. If you include the front porch and screened in back porch it is an additional 1000 sq foot or 3000 sq foot of open an inviting space. It was built in 2004.

Our cozy cabin is located near Lake Rockwell with lots of trees and outside space. The inside of our home has 4 skylights that welcome lots of natural sunshine. There is a sauna in the basement and a wonderful park called Towner's Woods located just a mile and a half away. We are also 10 minutes from Kent State University and downtown Kent.

We recommend having a 4x4 car for winter! If there’s a lot of snow and you don’t, you could get stuck.

***We host up to 6 guests. Only guests staying in the the cabin are allowed to come over unless we have talked about it ahead of time. Please review the rules you agree to when booking. We charge $500 for every rule broken. This includes parties, smoking inside, extra guests, etc.***

We do not provide sauna towels, please use white towels for the shower only and bring your own if you plan to use the sauna. Thank you.

We are open to hosting SMALL events and weddings. If this interests you, please reach out to discuss fees.

Note: bathroom is on the main floor, bedrooms are upstairs. The shower knob is also opposite of what it displays. Please turn it to the right (cold) for warm water.

Note 2: the upstairs oftentimes gets very warm in the summer months. We provide 1 fan for each room and there’s also a ceiling fan in each room. We recommend sleeping with the door open OR closing the door and sleeping with the windows open.

This is our home most of the year. Please respect our space like it is your own. A few rooms are locked away but anything that’s open is yours to use!

If you plan to use the sauna please see the welcome book or reach out with any questions. It takes about 45-60 minutes to heat up (it gets to about 165°).

The upstairs gets warm during the summer months. Each room has a ceiling fan and an additional fan. We recommend sleeping with the door open to allow more cool air to come in and/or opening the windows at night.

The shower is for some reason backwards! Turn to the right for hot water 😊

If you plan to use the air mattress it is in the closet of the small (purple) bedroom. On the shelf you will find 2 pillows, a sheet, a fitted sheet, and a quilt. There are also extra blankets.

Welcome to our luxurious cabin nestled in the heart of Cuyahoga National Park! This stunning retreat offers the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience, as it is just a short drive away from the renowned Blossom Music Center and numerous iconic hiking trails.

The cabin boasts two beautifully appointed bedrooms, each designed to provide the utmost comfort and relaxation in king beds. Step outside onto the expansive deck, where you'll find breathtaking views of the surrounding forest.

This cabin is located within Valley Overlook, a private Lodging and Campground area surrounded by the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Travel just minutes to many trailheads for hiking and biking, or bring your kayak for a day on the river. Check out local restaurants in the historic village of Peninsula, just 4 miles to our north. Hop on your bike and take the Towpath Trail as far north as Cleveland or south to Akron. Enjoy local restaurants, breweries, farm markets and more!

We're a half-mile from the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, great for biking to local destinations to the north and south. Free parking is available at many trailheads in the National Park. Street parking in the Village of Peninsula is paid via phone. Ride sharing availability can be limited, so we recommend planning your own transportation. Walking to Blossom Music Center is neither practical nor recommended. We use security cameras to monitor our driveway; there are no recording devices of any kind inside or pointed directly at any living space.

This cabin is self check-in with parking available on site.

If you are traveling with two vehicles, please park the second one in the large lot next to the office located in the large brick building. Maximum of 2 vehicles please.

The kitchen came stocked with everything needed except kitchen towels. Some of us are light sleepers and would have preferred blinds on all the windows including the small ones above the beds. That is a very minor thing though and we would definitely love to stay again! Thank you for a lovely long weekend!"

The location was great, with an easy drive to several trailheads, and not too far to restaurants and stores. The cabin was thoughtfully designed, with plenty of space to store and hang our belongings. We liked having two bathrooms so multiple people could get ready at a time. Towels and washcloths were provided, bring your own shampoo and soap. We didn't cook at all on this visit, but the kitchen had everything needed for a few meals, and there was an outdoor grill as well. The porch was great, and the swing was a nice addition, but bugs were pretty annoying, so bring a citronella candle or bug spray. We would definitely stay here again!"

- "The cottage building itself is a little bit rustic, and the interior walls are original, but everything else is updated, clean and well thought out. The host is environmentally conscientious and dedicated to the comfort of her guest. The beds were comfortable (I checked out the king bed but slept downstairs) and weighted blankets and sleep masks were available in each bedroom. The kitchen was fully equipped and even had extra water bottles if you’ve forgotten to bring one. The host provided extensive and detailed information about the cabin and an comprehensive list of everything that is provided, as well as an online guide on how to use the electronics, places to go/things to do, dining opportunities, shopping, etc. The host is very responsive to emails and super helpful if you have any questions or concerns. The neighborhood and surrounding area are walkable and the lake is beautiful. I’m hoping we’ll return during the warmer months to take advantage of the boating cycling opportunities available in the area. When we do return, we will definitely be staying at KC’s Cozy Cape. "
