The kitchen is fully equipped with a range, microwave and a refrigerator. The tiled bathroom features a tub/shower combination. The living room sofa makes into a bed which can sleep either one additional adult or two children. Beautiful maple floors, hand woven carpets, a leather sofa bed, an original Morris style chair, historic photography and original works of art add warm ambiance to the main living area.

The Forest Haven Suite is nestled in the woods on
the Northern California Redwood Coast.
Located minutes from spectacular scenic vistas,
beaches state and national parks, the Forest Haven
Suite is the ideal location from which to launch
daily activities.

As summarized, the Suite is a 460 sq.ft. studio
style structure, fully loaded with amenities.
Of the five cottage at Golden Eagle Vacation
Rentals, the Forest Haven Suite is the one
'modular'
constructed unit. The 2 X 6 walls came complete
with windows, siding etc. installed. One of the
challenges was moving the components into place
and 'erecting' the structure into place.

The metal roof is an outstanding choice of
materials due to the temperate coastal climate
here. The design is clean, maintenance low and the
light green hue compliments the surrounding forest
of second growth spruce.
The skylight facing east allows light into the
studio style cottage with it's broad Douglas fir
beams transverse the short dimension of the
structure. The gentle beat of a light rain on the
metal roof is peaceful to listen too.

A four step staircase elevates one to the Forest
Haven Suite covered porch constructed of the TREX
material. Chocolate brown in color, the covered
porch
supported by light green 6 X 6 columns integrates
nicely
with the living space inside and outside
environment.

Two wooden rocking chairs are on the covered porch
with a small table
between them. Adjacent to the glass slider
entrance of the cottage. There is a welcoming vase
with
fresh cut flowers, gathered from around the
Tranquility Pond on it.

Rocking back and forth in the rocker with a glass
of wine, compliments of the host, the everyday
stress of life melts away as you focus on the rays
of sunshine filtering through the trees and hear
the seals barking
from their rocky perches. The wooded treeline
adjacent to the Forest Haven Suite conforms to the
perennial creek that courses by the cottage. It
is difficult to discern the sound of the breeze
through the trees from the sound of a babbling
brook. Aptly, named Beach Creek, it's ultimate
destination, the Pacific Ocean, is not far beyond
the boundaries of Golden Eagle Vacation Rentals.
Sea Otters, though very discreet have been sighted
near Beach Creek and IN the Tranquility Pond at
Golden Eagle Vacation Rentals.
Also, quite large beavers have been sighted by
this host AT Golden Eagle Vacation Rentals.
One very early morning, a small wake across the
top of the Tranquility Pond was witnessed.
A very large beaver emerged from the water, stood
up and turned around from the direction it had
come from.
Another wake of water proceeded across the short
dimension of the Tranquility Pond.
Again, another smaller adorable slick/furry
creature emerged from the water.
Apparently, the larger of the two was MOM. The
juvenile was her offspring.
I witnessed them waddle down the Golden Eagle
driveway until disappearing into the brush,
heading in the direction of a neighboring pond.

A bald eagle perches itself in the top of a tree
looking down on the waters flowing into the
Tranquility
Pond, searching for prey.

A large campfire pit is located below the TREX
covered porch.
Composed of rocks mined from the Trinity River,
there is
a bundle of firewood, compliments of the host,
available.
The bundle of wood consists of smaller sized
Douglas fir kindling for starter wood
and the slower burning hardwoods, Ma drone and
Oak.
Hosting guests around a campfire is a great
opportunity for the host to meet them.
Many friendships have been formed, family
reunions, wedding union and anniversaries
celebrated around the campfire.

I remember a Thanksgiving holiday around the
campfire
with my good friend, Mike & Mrs. W from the great
state of Oregon.
A skilled woodsman, Mike was convinced I could not
ignite a campfire
during a torrential rain. With persistence and the
help of some diesel fuel, we were able to enjoy
the warmth of a roaring bon fire in front of the
Forest Haven Suite.

The complimentary hues, greens and browns, of the
cottage exterior are offset be the white trim
around the windows, deterring the subtle elegance
of
the cottage's interior.
Stepping through the glass slider entrance to the
Forest Haven Suite is an experience worth noting.

The five senses are immediately engaged and
emerged in the tranquility of a
special moment.

A red duvet across a queen size bed beckons your
immediate attention.
Situated in a three sided alcove, the matching
crimson colored complimentary pillows offer a
mountain of
support for the sore back of an avid reader in
bed.

The subtle sound of 'Light Classical' music blends
audio virtuosity to an increasingly sensual
experience.

A gentle warmth and glow emanating from the
flickering flames of an inlaid hearth creates a
sense of romance. A welcoming colorful floral
bouquet of native bloom is presented in a glass
vase on the dining room table. Is that source of
the aromatic
essence filling the air in the Forest Haven Suite?

The lingering fragrance of Tea Tree
emanates through the Forest Haven Suite calming
the
spirit. Tea Tree is an aromatic component, the
essence,
in the 'eco friendly', nontoxic, biodegradable
cleaning
products that I personally use in the cleaning
maintenance of the cottages. These cleaning
products make this exceedingly important chore
enjoyable.

There is a complimentary bottle of California wine
that comes with the cottage
that is part of the experience. Would you like a
red or
white?
Often, to enhance the palate, I will present a
sampler plate
consisting of fresh locally produced products.
Fresh
caught white King Salmon, available in Trinidad
is my favorite. I often share it with my guests
along side of fresh fruit, local
cheeses and a locally produced Mustard Dill
sauce that is popular here.

The floor is made of laminated hickory that has a
rich dark hue. The black granite tile counter top
looks simple, sleek and modern. Surrounding the
thermostatically controlled fireplace inset into
the wall, is the same lovely tile. The
kitchenette has all the modern amenities of home.
The full size refrigerator, microwave, oven and
dishwasher are also black in color, integrate
nicely into a modern theme and are well stocked
with utensils pots and pans. Freshly ground
coffee beans, San Francisco Bay French Roast and
Rain Forest, are located
next to a coffeemaker on the far left of the
counter top. There is sugar next to the coffee in
a cute glass container. There is creamer in the
refrigerator.
There are also herbal teas available in multi
colored individual packets on the counter near the
coffee.
The ceramic top stove is modern in appearance with
it's sleek black color and design. It has four
burners.

Renting a moving truck to transport all the
appliances for the cottages from the Direct Buy
Outlet in Sacramento CA, was a harrowing trip for
the ages..
Home Depot provided the beautiful design and
cabinetry evident in the Forest Haven Suite and
other Golden Eagle Suites. Close attention to
detail in the planning stages at the store
resulted with the gorgeous red colored cabinets
that close with a gentle touch. The fixtures to
the drawers are lovely and another subtle nuance
amidst many details evident in these modern
cottages.

A table for two has a welcoming floral arrangement
of native blooms in a vase,
situated between the salt and pepper shakers. The
remote for the Satellite T.V. is on the table with
a
Welcome sheet containing the WiFi code and other
useful details.
The table is located in the dining area of the
studio style cottage, close to the warmth of the
fireplace.
Two black padded stools accompany the table.
An attractively comfortable two person couch
affords a great view of the woods through the
slider and a great place to watch your favorite
programs from. Prop one or two of the couches
pillows behind your back for maximum comfort. The
complimentary reading chair is just as comfy.
Situated next to a small table with a lamp, it is
an ideal place to read.

A sliding pocket door separates the main area of
the studio from the bathroom.
The bath/shower has sliding glass doors. Elegantly
trimmed out with stainless steel, they take time
to clean but are worth it because the attention to
detail and cleanliness is the most important
consideration, especially regarding the bathroom
.The ornate mirror above the lavi and other key
components blend well together here. The fresh
coastal air and a cacophony of birds are heard
through the cracked window located above the
potty chair. The provided hair dryer will not
scare the deer. They are apparently tame.

The hot water heater is the 'on demand' style.
Water is heated as it moves through the unit once
a hot water valve is tAll you need to remember is
when turning on hot water in either of the sinks
or shower:
Turn the hot water valve to full volume until the
water is hot.
THEN, decrease the flow rate and temperature to
what you prefer.
I've used 'on demand' hot water heaters for
several years and
they have always provided hot water consistently,
saving mightily
on fuel costs.

Agate Beach and Patrick's Point State Park is
a short stroll away.

Elk, pristine lagoon environments, Prairie Creek
State Park and Redwood National Park are just
minutes away.

Surfing, kayaking, whitewater rafting, hiking,
biking, paddle-boarding, whale, bird watching and
a plethora of other outdoor activities are popular
on the California Redwood Coast.

Proximity to what natures finest has to offer,
coupled with the peaceful tranquility of the

The cabin is lovely and fully-stocked to cook at home if you would like. We cooked some delicious Humboldt steak in the kitchen. 10/10. The water runs HOT! And it is so peaceful to wake up with the skylight and hear the pond and frogs at night. This is truly a getaway from the world. We did not have cell service, but the internet is STRONG! Our 600 sq. ft cottage is surrounded by redwoods, on a four acre property, one mile from the sea. It was rebuilt two year ago, and has all new appliances. It's a cozy and peaceful escape from civilization, perfect for two or a small family.

We have a space heater and our wood stove if you feel cold. Although, during summer the temperature is normally perfect, both night and day.

Fully stocked kitchen for all of your cooking and baking needs, including an array of spices.

This incredible space has been the inspirational hub for designing the most creative projects in Humboldt during the past 18 years. Now it has been reborn as an immersive space to enjoy the redwoods. Every inch has been thoughtfully designed to allow our guests to feel the enveloping majestic nature of the surrounding forest. Upon arrival, a golf cart awaits for your journey through the woods, to the upper landing of the raised boardwalk crossing over a seasonal creek bringing you to The Studio.

We live on the same 5 acres as The Studio. We value our privacy and we respect yours. The Studio is very private. We typically see our guests when they arrive and occasionally run into guests in our driveway. We are available if anyone needs anything, but we are very non-intrusive. We really want our guests to feel secluded in the forest.

There are two large and one small dog that live and roam free on our property. If you are not comfortable with dogs, then this property will not be a good fit for you.

This cabin can only accommodate two people. If you arrive with additional guests, you will be asked to leave and forfeit the cost of the rental.

We will happily accommodate photographers and hair and make-up if you are getting married.

The Shore Acres Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, small gatherings of friends and family, and for those seeking a retreat space that is private, peaceful, and serene, yet conveniently located. The cottage is modest in size, yet has all of the comforts of home. Two bedrooms and a sleeper sofa make it a comfortable stay for up to six guests. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook and entertain during your stay.

Set on a nearly 30 acre parcel, boasting many wetland features such as a duck-filled pond, a meandering creek, and private access to the beach on the mouth of the Mad River overlooking the Pacific ocean, this property is perfect for those who want to experience a unique and private getaway. Guests are expected to stay within the property lines, which will be discussed in the guidebook upon booking. We expect guests to be responsible considering all of the water features around, especially those with young children. Located just minutes from highway on ramps and the local airport, the protected location of the cabin provides tranquility and peace from the outside world. The cottage does include wifi, DirectTV cable, forced air heating, and all of the essentials needed for the ultimate escape here on the Redwood Coast.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the cabin and the land that surrounds the cabin. The property is private, and the guests and those in their party will have access to the grounds surrounding the pond, beach access to the Mad River bank, and access to the picnic table and bluffs overlooking the pacific ocean. Guests will also have access to the locked garage where some supplies and the bbq will be stored during your stay.

Other things to note
Due to the rural area surrounding the house, we were not able to get high speed internet, but we do have good wifi, with a download speed of 27 Mbps. We ask that you limit excessive use of streaming and other types of scenarios that may drain our 350 gb a month plan. We also do not guarantee free firewood during your stay. We usually have a stash nearby, which I will detail the location of in the guidebook.

The North Fork Cottage is a well appointed 2 bed 1 bath cottage in a newly remodeled duplex. Enjoy our quiet and convenient central Eureka location as your home base for exploring Eureka, Arcata and our beautiful surrounding redwood forests, beaches and rivers! You'll enter the home to the living room with a spacious l-shaped couch and smart TV. Across from the living room is a lounge room with small wet bar to wind down in the evening or use the desk and work space to be productive during the day. The kitchen and dining room are complete with fridge/freezer, electric stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave and dining table with seating for 6. There is a laundry room inside of the cottage with a washing machine and dryer. Each bedroom has a queen bed and the living room couch is a queen sized sleeper sofa. The bedroom closets are both spacious and artfully lined with cedar planks.

What's nearby:
The home is located in a residential neighborhood steps away from a park with large grassy field, playgrounds and a convenience store. Our central location is within 10 minutes of most places in Eureka, from Sequoia Park & the Zoo, Henderson Center shops and restaurants, Old Town Eureka and the Marina. Cross over the Samoa bridge to the Samoa Dunes recreation area for a hike in the Ma-le'l Dunes or a drink and oysters at the Humboldt Bay Social Club. We are just 15 minutes to Arcata and Cal Poly Humboldt, 30 minutes to Trinidad, Sue Meg State Park and Moonstone Beach, and an hour from Redwoods National and State Park.

Surrounded by redwoods, amazing private location just minutes to Trinidad, beaches, redwoods. One bedroom, one bath attached bungalow with complete privacy, a sunny, peaceful enclave. Very convenient but so beautiful it may be hard to leave to go to any of the nearby beaches, town of Trinidad, or redwoods.

This is a charming, brand new, 800 sq. ft. 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage above a 2 car garage centrally located in McKinleyville. Secluded in a quiet neighborhood there is ample parking as you enjoy an abundance of activities along the North Coast. Close by are beach combing, bird watching, sights that are a photographer’s dream and Redwood National Park. Humboldt State University is located in Arcata and is known as the “Garden Campus” of the California State University system. The cottage has spacious bedrooms with one queen bed, one double futon, and one queen futon in the living room. The bathroom has a tub/shower. The kitchen is fully stocked with lots of counter space, dishwasher, gas stove and French door refrigerator. There is also an island that is great for eating and conversations when meals are being prepared. The island is also movable to accommodate your needs. There are lots of windows for sun in the morning and great sunsets in the evening. The Hammond Trail is the path the logging train hauled logs to the mill 100 years ago and now is a very popular walking/biking path that ends at Clam Beach. 10 minute walk to movie theater, grocery store, K Mart, McDonald's or the transit system. There is WiFi and this is no smoking rental, inside or anywhere on the property. No pets and the cottage is not handicap accessible. This is a great base for your North Coast adventure.

The town of McKinleyville leaves a little to be desired but it’s a perfect location for access to the beach and the redwoods. We visited Clam Beach and discovered Trinidad Bay beach later in the day. (Stunning views after a great lunch at Trinidad Bay Eatery!) Our day at Redwood National Forest was incredible. Ken, our host, was extremely responsive and accommodating. The backyard garden is a lovely setting for a glass of wine and a campfire. The house itself is extremely clean with comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. Great for a small group needing a place to land while touring around the area."

The cottage is at the end of a quiet street in an older part of town but close to the hospital and shopping. Guests are welcome to use the entire house, deck, patio and yard.

I enjoy entertaining, and I'm happy to share my home with you. If you want privacy, I will accommodate that. I can also offer you a complimentary tour of Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park for either the tourist or the naturalist.

Crescent City is surrounded on all sides by some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the state, including the ocean, the redwoods, the largest lagoon in the state (Lake Earl) and one of the last natural, unobstructed rivers left in California (Smith River).

I do have two cats, but they are both inside and outside, and they are kept out of the guest room. I also feed several feral cats who roam the property. There are also two pet chickens (Heckle, and Jeckle) and five chicks as of May 24 that live together outside your bedroom door, plus three little dogs who live with my best friends Marti and Bill in the trailer in my side yard.

You are welcome to smoke outside.

Finally, please note that the cleaning fee is actually the Del Norte County transient tax that I am required to collect.

During your stay
I like to give you as much privacy as you desire. In the morning I prepare a light breakfast for you, but I sleep or do my morning work in my room to leave you to consider the day ahead. If you would like to meet the chickens, I would be happy to introduce you.

On two lush, beautiful acres, which you can enjoy and relax when you are not on the beach, hiking, biking or enjoying any other activity in this majestic area. A place for relaxing and enjoying beauty and tranquility, where you can connect to nature. Access path to the beach across from property, and mountain view in rear of property.

This unique, lovely cottage is equipped with a kitchen, one bedroom and a bath. A trundle bed for two single beds in the living room. A BBQ grill outside. Semi loop trail on the property, where you can enjoy wildlife and beautiful sunsets over the ocean.

A code will be provided by 3pm on arrival day. The lockbox is located right next to the sliding glass door entrance to the cottage. Front gate must remain opened at all times.

If you are looking for a farm stay in the redwoods, come stay with us at this studio cottage with a full kitchen, washer dryer, patio, and fire pit. Enjoy the early morning (and sometimes all day) sounds of ducks, geese, turkeys and cattle . Surrounded by acres of Redwood trees, no street lights, and lots of wildlife. Enjoy the stars from the patio in redwood rocking chairs.

The space
Located at the end of a gravel road in the country, this studio cottage features a reclaimed barn wood wall complete with a mantel, fireplace and 50-inch flat screen smart TV including Netflix. Enjoy this fully equipped kitchen with stainless-steel kitchen appliances, including a Keurig coffee maker. All window coverings, bedding, linens and bath essentials are provided. There is a stackable washer and dryer unit with the studio. A tankless water heater is installed so that hot water never runs out. Sip your coffee on the covered patio and watch the sun rise through the gorgeous redwoods. There are board games, books and puzzles for you to enjoy. There is no smoking inside, however smoking outside (tobacco or marijuana) on the patio is fine. Please make sure the window and door is closed and use the abalone shell as an ashtray. Also, if you would like to interact with the farm animals, or take a walk/hike on one of our beautiful trails, let me know and I can accommodate that! Please do not go without me. Thank you!

The cottage and fenced in patio area are yours to enjoy while you are here. There is a lock box with a key inside for self check in. There is an outdoor fire pit, redwood rocking chairs, a paint easel with paints, and a barbeque with supplies on the patio. We are surrounded by redwoods here and the view is breathtaking, but we ask you stay out of the fields, animal areas and shop/barnyard areas unless accompanied by me. I am more than happy to take you on a hike through the redwoods here upon request! I'm also available to show you the farm and the animals while you are here. Farm fresh eggs, herbs and garden vegies will be shared when available!

Other things to note
There are many farm animal sounds during the day, including the geese which can be very vocal. Nights they are quiet, but during the day you may hear them since they are sometimes located behind the cottage in the back yard. When I let them out in the morning, their "good morning" honking can be loud for a few minutes. We also have 2 farm dogs that can sometimes bark but remain inside or with us most of the day. If you would like to feed some scratch to the ducks and geese, I can accommodate that. It is very muddy right now due to the amount of rain California has had recently, so boots or waterproof shoes may be necessary for hiking or interacting with the animals!

The space
This home is fully furnished and stocked for comfort. It includes Wi-Fi, a Smart TV with Roku (set to guest mode for easy streaming), a gas grill and a well-equipped kitchen with a full-size fridge and range. For added convenience—especially for longer stays or outdoor adventures—on-site laundry is available with detergent provided.

Small appliances include a Keurig, French press, water kettle, toaster, waffle maker, crockpot, blender and hand mixer. You’ll also find basic spices, oils, condiments, coffee and tea.

The home is equipped to host up to 4 guests with a queen bed, sofa and air mattress, though we think it’s most comfortable for 2–3. If you’re traveling with a larger group, we also offer another one-bedroom unit on-site that sleeps 4.

A quaint, eclectic and comfortable home on the coast, conveniently located in town and only a few short blocks to the ocean. Pet friendly with prior approval and agreement to our pet rules.
Even though we are once again open for travelers, we have instituted a few new processes to deal with covid-19, from special sanitizing protocols, to adding a day between reservations where possible, and utilizing air filtration at the house.

The space
Our location is what makes us unique, near Beaches, Brother Jonathan Park, Baseball and Skateboard parks. Lighthouse, Pier and Harbor all within a short walking distance. The house is quaint, comfortable and humble with two bedrooms, and a bathroom. There is a fenced private patio/yard that is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a cocktail in the evening. Small pets accepted with pre-approval. House not suitable for toddlers or young children.

3) Dogs are not to be left alone in the house, not even in a crate.

This craftsman-inspired cottage is in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to Stewart Park and is only a ten minute walk to the city center or to the Humboldt State University campus. The cottage interior is comfortable and well appointed, with open floor plan which includes a living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped with a range, microwave and a refrigerator. The tiled bathroom features a tub/shower combination.

The space
The living room sofa makes into a bed which can sleep either one additional adult or two children. Beautiful maple floors, hand woven carpets, a leather sofa bed, an original Morris style chair, original works of art add warm ambiance to the main living area.

A door separates the bedroom from the living area which allows privacy for guests using the sofa bed. Guests will be able to enjoy a good night's sleep on the queen sized bed which features a Sterns and Foster ultra-plush pillow top mattress, four pillows and fine linens. Paintings by the owner, an accomplished artist, enhance the bedroom decor.

INFORMATION RELATING TO COVID-19

We are taking the Coronavirus seriously and attempting to do our part to keep our guests (and ourselves) safe from being infected by the virus. We have a protocol in place, which we intend to follow for the coming months, which begins with maintaining a minimum of 24 hours between current guests checking out and new guests checking in. Shortly after the current guest checks out, staff will enter the cottage using a charcoal filtered respirator to open all of the windows allowing the aerosols inside the cottage to dissipate. The following day, housekeeping will prepare the cottage for the new guest. All of the used linens and towels will be washed using bleach or ammonia. The bed duvet cover will also be laundered as well as any of the blankets which have been used. The bedspread as well as the pillows on the sofa bed will be sprayed with disinfectant. Surfaces will be disinfected, which will include the kitchen counter-top, the dining table, light switches, door knobs/handles, etc. Housekeepers have been trained to be careful regarding cross-contamination. Nitrile gloves will be worn when cleaning the bathroom and handling potentially contaminated towels, linens, bath mat, etc. After removing the nitrile gloves, hands are thoroughly washed before resuming the cleaning of the rest of the cottage. Being that the cottage does not contain a disinfecting dishwasher and it is not feasible for the housekeeper to wash all of the dishes, bowls, glasses, stemware, cups, pots and pans, utensils, etc. after each guest has left, we encourage guests to wash kitchen items before using, even if items appear clean. Disinfectants and cleaning towels will be provided. Please remember to bring face coverings, which are required in Humboldt County to enter stores, and hand sanitizer.

In addition, we ask our guests to participate in recycling glass, plastic, cardboard, paper products, newspapers, aluminum, tin cans, etc. The recycling bin is next to the garbage pail, which is located under the porch. Any item which is placed in the recycling bin needs to be cleaned and free of debris and contents. We also have a compost bin for processing plant matter. Let us know if you would like to add to our compost bin. We are happy to have you participate in composting kitchen waste, with the exception of dairy products and meat.

Prepared food is available at the local markets, Wildberries, Co-Op, Murphy’s and Eureka Natural Foods in McKinleyville. Many local restaurants are offering take out service.

Welcome to our little, dog friendly, beach house in Manila! Our villa is located above the Crescent City fog bank by roughly 6 miles, inland climate located next to Smith River and steps to Jedediah Smith State Park. Completely renovated villa with all the amenities of home: wifi, bbq, hot tub, two large master suites, two twin beds in living room. Pick your own fresh tomatoes and veggies from yard. Enjoy our complimentary cruiser bikes, stand up paddle board, kayak, bbq, water toys.

We have taken a 1952 cottage and completely renovated it - so it is brand new inside and sparking clean. All new furnishings and kitchen is fully furnished as well, we also include those basic but necessary details, ie dish soap, shampoo & soap, full size washer & dryer, bath and beach towels, water toys, etc. Also included are a few conveniences, bedside light with 4 usb charging ports, charging station near the kitchen - of course you will need that to stay connected! We have traveled as well and recognize what has been lacking for us and hope to provide for our guests! If we've missed something critical please let us know and we will do our best to provide!!

This is the perfect home base for exploring the wild and beautiful North Coast, with a grassy yard and a cozy pellet stove on hand to welcome you upon your return.

Located in the small community of Trinidad, a seaside town known for its breathtaking coastline and dramatic rock formations. Within three-quarters of a mile, you'll find Trinidad State Beach (a stunning spot at sunset), Trinidad Harbor, the Trinidad Head Trail, Trinidad Kayak, a grocery store, and an assortment of restaurants and art galleries. It's also a prime spot for day-tripping, with Moonstone Beach (four miles), Sue-Meg State Park (seven miles), and Redwood National and State Parks (20 miles) all nearby.

Beachcomber or hiker, you'll feel right at home in the yard sipping your first cup of morning coffee in an Adirondack chair, barbecuing at lunchtime on the gas grill, or sitting down for sunset dinners at the picnic table.

When the evening fog rolls in, move inside to play board games, stream movies, and curl up next to the pellet stove in the clean and cozy living room. There's a well-equipped kitchen with every essential when you're not dining out in town, a window-side dining space, and both a washer/dryer and free WiFi for your convenience.

Enjoy a stay at our Crescent City Beach house/Fishing cottage which is centrally located just outside Crescent City city limits. We joke that it is 4 minutes from everything but it is not much off the truth. The huge private park like yard has room for parking campers, RVs, and boats and you can even pitch tents and camp out. Enjoy all the area has to offer and have a nice private spot to call home while here. New in 2023 is a patio with picnic table, RO water on tap, weber bbq, more couches.

There is a section of yard that has a privacy fence up behind which we sometimes have our camp trailer stored. There are a few nights here and there when I sleep there when fishing or traveling through CC but you are welcome to use the whole yard and pick berries and park boats there if space allows. Just check with us if you have more than can fit in the driveway and we can advise.

Other things to note
If you need the place for longer term send us a note. We will always entertain stays of two months or longer for traveling workers or if you are new to the area. Discussions about space and furniture needs as well as pricing can be sorted out. Power has become expensive in this part of the country so we have an allowance of 42 Kw hours per day averaged over your stay and will request additional funds on usage over that. The last few years that is the max electric consumption in winter when usage is highest. We don't mind use of more but we have had some guests stay with an electric car and the power bill doubled. We do like to know if you have an EV so we can discuss outlets best suited for charging ect. We can check with the power company for usage after you stay a few days in the house if you are curious how much is being used. We wish this wasn't needed but it is, thanks for your understanding.

We are taking the extra care to clean & disinfect the cottage thoroughly after each checkout. This remodeled Craftsman style home has wood floors throughout. The living area has an open floor plan with line of vision through the French Doors in the cozy front room to the dining room, kitchen & family room.
The colors, texture & coastal decor in each room will help you anticipate the tranquility of the beach which is only steps away. The comfortable family room with garden window of succulents warmed by the glowing ambiance of the pellet stove offers view of the deck & back yard. For family entertainment there is 50 inch 'Smart' TV with cable, & Goggle Comcast so you can stream all your favorite movies, TV shows, sports channels from your apps & accounts.
The kitchen is efficiently equipped with dishes, glasses, silverware & stainless steel cookware. The coffee cart is stocked with coffee, teas & snacks.
The bathrooms have a nautical theme with new vanities, mirrors & flooring. The spacious master bedroom has a plush area carpet and pillow top queen bed for your ultimate comfort. The master bedroom & two guest bedrooms are each appointed with coastal touches including pictures of the local shoreline.

The entire house, back deck & side yard with hot tub plus garage with laundry services are available to you exclusively during your stay.

Other things to note
We are a family friendly home. 7 adult and three children’s sized bicycles are stored in the garage for your use. The bikes have all been refurbished; there are some mountain bikes & beach cruisers. 2 cable locks & a quality tire pump . There are beach toys, family games, puzzles, & an art box available for younger visitors. Upon request, a port-a-crib, high chair, baby bath, and/or a stroller can be made available for your use.

Welcome to our Wapiti (Elk) Cottage!

This newly renovated cottage is one of three homes available on our large property. We are quite literally in the middle of the Coastal Redwoods centrally located in the heart of the National & State Redwood Parks with easy access to explore all the parks, trails, & beaches while providing a cozy, well-equipped home to rest in-between your adventures.

The space
Our six acre property sits in the middle of the Redwood National Park, backs up to Prairie Creek, & offers 3 Cottages on one side of the property as well as a small full hook-up RV Park on the opposite side. We are often visited by the amazing wildlife, including the Roosevelt Elk that call this area home. We are right off of Highway 101, three miles north of the town of Orick.

This Cottage sleeps up to 7 and features 3 Bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, 1 Full & 1 Twin), 1 Bathroom w/ a Walk-In Shower, Full Kitchen, Dining Room, Laundry Room (full size washer & dryer), Living Room w/ 55” Smart TV, Fireplace, free WiFi, with a whole house generator for unplanned power outages.

Guest access
You will have access to the whole Cottage as well as the front & back yard. You may also go down to the creek behind the property, be advised it is fishable but no lifeguards are on duty. Feel free to enjoy our whole property. When in season, help yourselves to the many wild berries that encircle our property.

Other things to note
We offer FREE high-speed WiFi, & smart TV. There is a fire pit out back & firewood is provided as well as a Gas BBQ & picnic tables. A baby high chair, gate, & Pack & Play are available upon request.

The Roosevelt Elk frequent our property often. Please be advised they are wild animals. As you enjoy their grandeur, keep your distance & keep your animals on a leash as they are unpredictable & can be dangerous.

We are located in the middle of the beautiful north coast Redwoods, surrounded by National & State Parks, Lagoons, Beaches, Creeks & Rivers. Adventure is literally in every direction, whether you want to stroll through the Redwoods, go to the beach, take a hike, or adventure in our many water ways.
Please note: from May 15-September 15th, a free day-use permit is required to access Fern Canyon/Gold Bluff Beach. This can be acquired online or at our local Visitor Centers.
