- "The overall experience was a good one. But unfortunately we did encounter quite a bit of issues. The cleanliness of the place was less than desirable. We had to sweep and mop the main living space because it was visibly dirty. Multiple bathrooms had dirty toilets. There were cockroachs in the upstairs kitchen. Some amenities were not in working order or missing, for example the fireplace was inoperable, the heater did not work in the bottom part of the house, they had to bring in little space heaters to help with the cold. Some of the bathrooms had empty soap containers, no extra toilet paper and had to call for trash bags. Aside from all the negatives, the space was big, the location of the home was great, plenty of car space. The communication between the home contact and us was a good one, they responded in a timely manner and attempted to find solutions. Perhaps as a tip, bring extra amenities if you stay here."

Established in 1922, (just three quarters of a mile from the village) our cottage is nestled on a secluded half-acre lot on the lush side of Lake Arrowhead among the dogwoods, maples, old growth cedars and pines. When you arrive, park on our level circular driveway and then step back in time by crossing our seasonal creek over the wooden foot bridge. As you approach the cottage, notice the rock walls, live edge siding, and the massive front door. You will have arrived at one of the most picturesque cottages, in one of the quietest canyons, in Lake Arrowhead. Our intent is to keep our cottage in top notch shape - Therefore it must be left in a neat and clean condition upon checkout. We charge extra for excessive cleanup.

During our major renovation, we installed porcelain tile floors, granite counter-tops, all new stainless appliances and a central heating system to keep you cozy. The cottage has been professionally decorated by my wife, an interior designer, who is experienced in incorporating comfort and elegance into home decor. It is furnished with both modern furnishings and antiques, providing the creature comforts of modern day while maintaining the old-fashioned warmth of a traditional Lake Arrowhead cottage. For your enjoyment, we decorate for each season.

The focal point of the cottage is the exquisite fireplace, faced with hand-hewn, split granite boulders. It is accented by a rustic, knotty pine mantel and artisan, hand-hammered, bronze fireplace doors. The beautiful gas log fireplace ignites with the push of a button. What a perfect place to snuggle up by a glowing fire and watch a movie!

Next to the fireplace is a state of the art, LG 4K, OLED TV with the super easy to use, voice activated Amazon, Fire TV Cube. We provide Netflix, Amazon Prime, MAX, PBS Masterpiece, Acorn, BritBox, Hallmark, crackle, freevee, tubi, etc. Listen to music on Pandora with our Danon receiver, with 4 Polk speakers throughout the cottage. We have very high speed (1 Gig up & down) Frontier fiber-optic internet, with an Amazon eero Wi-Fi router mesh system. The living room is a perfect place for you to snuggle up by the fire with each other, and either read or watch a movie.

The "Hobbit" bathroom, downstairs, has a beautiful slate back splash, custom lighting and a unique sink that has been carved out of a large granite rock. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities of home. A high-end washing machine and dryer are in the hallway upstairs.

The beautifully decorated bedroom suite (with mini split air conditioning) has peaceful views of the canyon forest, and cozy, upscale bedding on a top rated - medium firmness - queen memory foam mattress. This elegant room has a vaulted ceiling, separate sitting area, and full-size closet. Relax after a day of exploring, by unwinding under the rain shower head in the recently remodeled master bathroom. The bedroom also has access to an outside deck with two chase lounges. Recline in them while sipping a glass of wine and enjoying a peaceful view of the canyon.

The cottage has a charming front porch and a secluded side patio where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner while enjoying the scenery and the sounds of birds. On a cool summer evening, relax while sipping hot cocoa and marveling at the stars!

We provide an easy-to-use binder at the cabin, with our twelve favorite walks/short hikes in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas. The binder provides maps, descriptions, mileage, and estimated time, etc. For the more adventurous hikers, we provide books/maps describing hikes in the San Bernardino Forest. You can also fish and swim in nearby Lake Gregory or in Big Bear Lake.

You will have the use of (1,200 sq ft) which includes the entire downstairs and the primary bedroom suite upstairs. You will also have use of all outside patios and the balcony. There is a second, locked, private bedroom that my wife and I use. We will of course not be there during your stay!

The Lake Arrowhead area is a little hidden gem, with a quaint village, wonderful local restaurants, and various shopping opportunities. If you are looking for a romantic get-away, or just a place to relax and have fun, this is just the place. Lake Arrowhead celebrates all four seasons - warm summer days, fall colors, snow in the winter, and a beautiful spring.

Due to our recent BLIZZARD STORM in March, 2023, their cottage rear deck is in need of repair and is not in use at this time. The rear deck held the bbq grill and tables for eating. Fortunately the cottage has a front deck that we have transferred the grill and tables and chairs to. It's a change of location and works so that you are still able to grill your favorite foods and seating to eat. The hot tub and fire pit were not damaged, and are in full use as before. We keep the tub operating year round, even in the winter.

Due to the weight of the snowfall at that time, the water pipe to the loft toilet was torn off the outdoor wall and I had to discontinue use of the loft toilet until repairs are fully made. We are in the process of getting the cottage back to normal, but it is a long process due to permits needed, architectural drawings to rebuild, etc. Consequently, I am only renting to adults now. The children loved the loft, but since there is no toilet there for now, I had to block the loft for children. Adults are still able to use the twin beds, keeping in mind that there is no toilet available in the upstairs loft at this time.

Cottage has a Master bedroom suite on lower level with full bath and door that opens up to lower deck with a hot tub and lattice wall privacy. There is a washer/dryer at lower level with laundry detergent. The cottage is a short 1/4 - 1/2 mi walk distance from the Arrowhead Village shops, restaurants, and the Arrowhead Resort and Spa. It has a sneak peak view of the lake and Burnt Mill Beach Club is also a short walk to the downtown lake arrowhead village. Burnt Mill Beach Club is a private beach.

Beginning April 2022 my guests are allowed to use my Lake Membership Card that I have purchased for your use and pleasure. It will allow you to visit some beaches and trails that are private to general tourists. You will need to purchase a wristband at the STR Client Services office at the Marina. All detailed information on use of the card is printed and placed on coffee table in living room. You must show card and ID for entry to some beaches and trails. If you should lose or misplace the card, I will deduct $100 from your Security Deposit. Please care for and use responsibly. I will be responsible for any misconduct by any user. Card allows a maximum of six people, which includes infants/children as a person. There is a Lake Membership card in the rental. It may be used by tenants to enter certain points of gate entry around the lake. Not the two Beach Clubs. Tavern Bay Beach Club and Burnt Mill Beach Club There is a STR Client Services office at the Marina. Please read the information left in the rental and go to the office for specifics regarding entry. I personally took a full day to utilize the card and enter each and every gate that is allowed for tenants to enter and use the beaches and trails. There are several nice ones. Upon entry to some of the gates you will notice many boat docks. These are privately owned docks, but the beaches surrounding the docks are there for your use. You are allowed to use the beach between docks.

Guests will have access to the cottage without meeting owner for a key. Owner will give instructions on where to obtain key 24 hrs a day. Owner lives minutes away if any problem occurs that needs to be addressed by owner. At the Cozy Cottage you will receive many amenities that other vacation rentals may not provide for you. Such as fresh linens, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen of cookware and utensils. It is a home away from home except you're on vacation here! We want your stay to be an exceptional one and leave you anxious to return again and again. We also want you to spread the good word. Pictures displayed hardly do it justice. You will have to see it to believe it! All bed linens and towels provided. One private parking space provided. If you bing more than one auto, please park across the street. Please do not park in the parking spot next to the cottage private one car spot. The one next to ours belongs to the next door neighbor. If you're looking for a large group place to host a loud noisy party, this is not the place for you. This is indeed a warm cozy cottage ideal for a couple getaway, or small adult family. Master Suite with Cal King bed, and living room pull down queen sofa. WE HAVE INSTALLED A Stearns & Foster Port Au Prince Luxury Cushion Firm Eurotop mattress in the Master Suite. It's marvelous! We also had a queen sofa bed delivered that also is marvelous. Please respect the new furnishings with your utmost care.

We wish to provide our guests with the best we can, but we also need our guests to take exceptional good care of the fine furnishings we offer you. This charming 1920's Lake Arrowhead cottage-style home is located in the exclusive neighborhood of The Palisades, amidst a serene alpine setting with ridgeline views & peeks of the lake.

We are a scenic, 5-minute drive to downtown Lake Arrowhead Village & Shops; Stater Bros. Marketplace, outlet shopping, antiquing & fine dining and just a short 10-minute drive to Blue Jay Village; Jensen’s Grocery, Starbucks Coffee, and our local movie theater.
We are close to skiing - just 25 minutes from Snow Valley Ski Resort and 45 minutes from Big Bear Lake and more skiing, snowboarding & sledding.

The main floor bedrooms are furnished with comfy queen, pillow-top beds & quilted bedding. A well-appointed full-bath is also located on the main level. Additionally, two twin beds, a lounge area & rustic-style half-bath are located in the upstairs bonus loft.

On the bottom floor of the cabin, and accessible ONLY from OUTSIDE through it's OWN PRIVATE ENTRANCE is "The Captain's Suite." Custom finished in natural hem-fir, this unique space will offer two of our guests some seclusion and privacy, along with a cozy, private bathroom and sunlit, sitting area.

It's absolutely perfect for a holiday vacation or even just a mini-weekend getaway for couples and families interested in sight-seeing & hiking, shopping & dining, or just relaxing in a peaceful mountain hideaway.

Q: DO WE ALLOW EARLY CHECK-INS?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early check-ins -- as it will not allow our housekeeper enough time to fully prepare the home for you.

Q: CAN I GET A LATE CHECK-OUT?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot grant late check-outs. Our housekeeper is on a tight schedule to clean multiple homes, and we cannot accommodate a late check-out request. Thank you for your understanding.

Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED?
A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is just a few blocks from the Lake.

PARKING: There is no street parking allowed (the county citations are $1,000 which are billed directly to Vrbo guests) so please park ONLY in our designated parking area on the dirt/gravel clearing to the left of our steps. Make sure your vehicle is completely off the pavement. Be careful not to park anywhere else, like across the street - that property belongs to our neighbor's, and the county also cites the same $1,000 fine for parking on other home owner's property. Unfortunately, they are very tough on us, and code enforcement - for vehicles parked in the wrong area - will even respond in the middle of the night! They really want to issue those $1,000 fines, so please be careful! And I'll attach a photo example of where to park. If you have any questions, please message us.

** To reduce risk of wildfire during severe weather conditions, Southern California Edison reserves the right to temporarily cut electrical service to its customers, and we have no control over that.Our guests understand that there will be no refunds for power outages or internet/Wi-Fi interruptions and that they'll happily accept the unlikely inconvenience for the sake of preserving our forests!

- Mountain weather requires shoveling snow.
* Guests will be responsible for shoveling the steps, the deck, a place to park and shoveling a path to and from the cabin.
* Snow shovels are located on the cabin deck -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy.

The dining table had a checkers board and there was a variety of games which we absolutely adored! The bed was extremely comfy and the linens and pillows felt like we were in a hotel. Everywhere you look you could see the love and effort that went into making it homey. We didn’t get a chance to do the boat tour but we’re bringing our kids back for another visit and we will be staying in their bigger property next door! - "We took our kiddos up for some snow play/skii time as we have for many Christmas breaks and we really enjoyed our stay at this little gem! Super close to the village for food, groceries and charging our Tesla. The interior was very nicely updated and cozy but not cramped at all. Beds were very comfortable and the central heat kept us all warm. My youngest LOVED the downstairs Star Wars room and we spent lots of time playing the free arcade game! The home has tons of labels and instructions to make your stay super easy and the kitchen is well stocked with basic things (coffee pods, hot cocoa, spices). We love staying in this part of Arrowhead as it's a short drive to the village and Blue Jay for food/shops, Running Springs for the tubing park and Snow Valley for skiing, and you get to avoid the Big Bear crazy! The driveway is steep but to be expected in a mountain region area. Guests can park on the street below we have cones to place in front and behind for safety. There are stairs leading up to the deck to enter the home. Those that cannot go up steep stairs or steepmountain driveways should not rent the home. We do provide a wagon on the first floor deck to bring items up from the street if necessary. We have seen bears and coyotes at our home. Please ensure if you go out at night time that you keep your dogs on a leash to have them protected from the wild animals.

- "From booking online to checking out, Dawn was super helpful with any questions we had. This home had EVERYTHING we needed! Kitchen had every utensil, pan, etc. Coffee pod coffee maker with a large assortment of different coffee flavors. There was also all kinds of spices in the cabinets and condiments in the fridge. Two TV lounge areas totally comfy and a TV in the master bedroom. We sat on the 1st floor patio each night with the fire pit on. Very relaxing listening to the wind in the trees. Dog friendly was a must for us and this home was that. Dogs loved seeing all the squirrels! We are looking forward to our next trip!"

For winter guests looking for outdoor recreation, Big Bear Ski Resorts are only a short 40-minute drive for snowboarding, skiing, sledding, and all snow enjoyment.

You can access any part of the home, backyard, decks, garage, etc. The only inaccessible part of the house is on the walking closet of the upper level room; and the locked door on the 1st level.

- "Nice and clean !!" - "The cabin has an excellent view! We caught the sunrise in the morning , it was beautiful! The house is very cozy. The beds could use a little upgrade. Downstairs is pretty chilly and the bed down stairs is not that comfortable. The fridge in the kitchen is a bit on the loud side. The host let us check in a few hours early which was very nice! The drive way is on the steep side so don’t park there if it’s snowing. It was over all a great stay!"

The cottage is two levels, with the majority of the living space on the first floor. After entering through the mudroom, the main level’s open layout stretches from the well-equipped kitchen, past the stone fireplace and main living area (outfitted with classic Stickley furniture, a Linn sound system and new 65” Roku TV) all the way to the large dining room table surrounded by windows with peekaboo views of the lake. This is a space to gather, cook, play games, watch films, listen to LPs, dine together, or simply stare at the roaring fire.

An artisan-crafted spiral staircase leads to the lower level which hosts the generous main bedroom with an exceptionally cozy queen bed, built-in desk, window nook, a mini projector, and access to the lower patio.

The upstairs "Treehouse Bedroom" is the most private in the cottage. Linen sheets, premium plush queen bed and vintage writing desk create a peaceful space to take in the alpine air.

The "Calluna Bedroom" is centered on the main level and has a four-poster double bed with Dreamcloud mattress, antique secretary desk and rich velvet blackout curtains.

The bathroom features a uniquely proportioned hand-built tile tub and shower, perfect for a nice soak after a long day of hiking or skiing.

Games, books, and musical instruments are scattered around the house for you to enjoy. Extra pillows, blankets and towels for everyone, and all basic bath and kitchen products are provided. Central heating works great and there is very fast wifi service throughout the house. A Weber propane grill is available for use in the front yard and propane chiminea is in the backyard for cozy nights under the stars.

All areas of the cottage are open to you, as well as the yard on the left and the upper and lower patios.

Cedar Glen is an area of Lake Arrowhead with many full-time residents and a small business district with shops, a little grocery store, restaurants, a gym and spa. The beloved Cedar Glen Malt Shop is just a short walk down the hill. Our neighbors are very friendly and you will truly feel part of the mountain community during your stay.

The roads in our little neighborhood are a bit narrow and on the steeper side, but very doable for any type of vehicle during good weather. If there is an active snowstorm, as with all mountain properties, it is important to check if chains are required before heading up (and 4-wheel drive is ideal). Easy parking is directly in front of the cottage, and along the gravel at the top of the yard.

Keep in mind that Lake Arrowhead is a private lake for use only by residents of the immediate surrounding properties. There are, however, ways to enjoy it! Take a boat ride on the Lake Arrowhead Queen, sign up for a water skiing lesson, or meander along the waterfront at Lake Arrowhead Village. There are a number of other lakes in the area as well—experience the waterslide at Lake Gregory, kayak on the pristine (and well-stocked) Green Valley Lake, or spend the afternoon in Big Bear on a Pontoon.

The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and we had everything we needed to cook. We enjoyed the hot tub, but you do have to walk out and around the back of the house to get to it (and there are stairs with no handrail if you are traveling with older family members- my mother-in-law needed an assist). There are several lovely porches to enjoy at this house, though we did not get a chance to try out the fire pit. The property owners were very communicative and accommodating, and we did alert them to several minor maintenance issues during our stay. This really is a beautiful home with many wonderful amenities. I would definitely recommend it, especially for larger families as it is quite spacious."

The Pine + Arrow Cottage was lovingly remodeled in an authentic Scandinavian fashion, offering a luxurious and relaxing feel. As you enter, the Pine + Arrow Cottage will greet you with a flood of natural light beaming through the french doors that open up onto a large and peaceful backyard adorned with majestical pine and oak trees, string lights, and a large deck. The shed in the backyard offers fun outdoor games that will keep kids of all ages entertained, and for the adults, you'll find yoga mats and light weights.

Upstairs you can snuggle on the queen bed in the master bedroom, and for the kiddos, you'll find a second bedroom with two twin beds just across the hall. The kids' room includes books and games to keep the kiddos entertained! Both bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep you comfortable during warmer nights, as there's no air conditioning in the home—the luxurious remodeled bathroom with shower ensures a fantastic start to your day.

A beautifully renovated kitchen allows you to begin the day with morning coffee or tea and cook breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you decide you'd like to cook outside, there is a family-sized griddle in the backyard for you to show off your chef skills. Or take a seat in one of the deck chairs or lounge on the outdoor sofa as you wait for dinner to finish and enjoy the view--you will see lots of birds and squirrels!

On the home's main level, you'll find a remodeled bathroom with a shower and an enchanting bedroom with a queen bed. The living room is outfitted with designer furnishings, a sofa, two comfortable chairs, a large wood-burning fireplace, and a smart TV. Additionally, you'll find a cozy dining area, fully-equipped kitchen, and bathroom with a shower on this floor.

Please feel free to enjoy smart TV— you can login to all your favorite accounts. You will have high-speed internet across the entire house, or enjoy board games, books, or puzzles during your stay.

Important Things to Note:
Lake Arrowhead is a private lake and has been restricted to OWNERS ONLY until recently. We are excited to offer lake passes to our guests. Instructions will be given at check-in! It requires a trip to the ALA office to obtain some wristbands and then you'll be allowed access. This access includes beautiful trails, Tavern Bay for beach time and bathing and Peninsula Park. Unfortunately, boats, kayaks and other water vehicles are prohibited by STR renters. Some other great ways to enjoy lake views are by visiting the Lake Arrowhead Village or MacKay Park. One of our favorite ways to enjoy the lake is by taking a trip on the Arrowhead Queen Tour Boat. It's very common for the captain / boat guide to give children a chance to steer the boat!

**NO PETS PLEASE** We have a strict no pet policy. We do love our furry four legged friends, but in an effort to maintain the condition of our cottage and respect all guests and varied allergens, we must hold firm on this policy. Bringing pets into the cottage will result in additional fines and Airbnb will contact you. Any pet hair/urine/feces found ion the beds, furniture, rugs or yard will result in additional fines at the renter’s expense.

No parties are allowed at this location and quiet hours are between 10:00pm-8:00am.

This is a non-smoking property (including vaping). Lake Arrowhead is highly vulnerable to fires. If you must smoke, please do so on the pavement in front of the property and dispose of items responsibly. Thank you.

PLEASE NOTE* There is no air-conditioning at the property, we have ceiling fans in all the bedrooms, but if you are someone that needs AC, then you may want to consider a property with AC. The cottage does not get hot unless the temp is over 90 degrees.

Cozy cabin! ****Lastly, we regret to say, the Lake Arrowhead Association has limited the lake access to the actual members on the passes. Therefore any and all short term guests have no access to lake arrowhead.***
We do have some great hikes to waterfalls to recommend! You can spend the day soaking in a fresh river at some of these great watering holes!

Other things to note
Prior to booking here are a few things to keep in mind... Unfortunately our cabin is not ADA accessible, there are stairs going up to the home and within the home. Our quirky cabin has some narrow stair cases and low overheads in some areas. As for our driveway, it is approximately 75 yds long, it is all dirt and can be a "challenge" in inclement weather. Plenty of cars easily make it up the driveway daily, you will only run into issues if you have a vehicle that has been lowered. During unusually excessive snow, we may only be able to plow vehicle parking at the bottom of the driveway and a path up to the home.

The space
Chic and cozy! The house is two stories with two bedrooms and one bath upstairs and one bedroom and a bathroom on the main level. We have an oversized deck off of the first floor with a picnic table, bbq grill, lounge seating, a swing and cafe lights. There is a smaller private deck accessible from the primary bedroom.

On the main floor of the house, we have a large living room and dining room with a stone fireplace, smart tv, Bose Bluetooth speaker, and lots of games and toys for adults and kids alike. The main floor also includes an up to date kitchen with everything you need to make your stay comfortable, a bathroom, a laundry room, and a bedroom equipped with a comfortable queen bed and blackout shades to help you rest peacefully all night.

Upstairs, the primary bedroom includes a king bed, smart tv, blackout curtains, and an oversized walk in closet, perfect for longer stays or even setting up our pack and play for your little ones to sleep nearby. Through the sliding doors is a second deck with two Adirondack chairs and a beautiful view of the trees. The second upstairs bedroom features two single beds, kids books and an antique rocking horse. Lastly there is another bathroom with a bathtub on the second floor.

Our house is located in Orchard Bay and is just a few minutes walk from the lake, where you can swim in the summer and walk around the beautiful lake path all year long. Orchard Bay gets its name from the dozens of mature apple trees there, which in spring and summer are full of apples for everybody to enjoy!

If you would like lake access please send me the full names and email addresses of anybody over 18 who needs lake access and I’ll add you to the ALA short term rental guest list once you book. You’ll need to pick up and pay for your passes/wristbands at the ALA office at 870 North State Highway 173 in lake arrowhead, which is on the east side of the lake . You will also need to bring the access card that we have hanging near the front door with you when you visit the ALA office. The passes cost 10/day/person and you can get passes for as many or as few people as you’d like in your group, or if you change your mind you don’t need to pick them up or pay for them at all. Once you are registered you can use our pass hanging near the front door to buzz yourself through the gates to access the lake and various hiking trails

Cozy up with a good book or enjoy streaming your favorite show or movie on the Roku Ultra Streaming Player enabled 65" TV in the spacious media/family room. Or just retreat to one of the wonderfully appointed bedrooms.

Parking: The home comes with 2 private parking spots and keyless entry. Fully-equipped with high-speed WiFi, smart home features (Yale Smart Lock, Ring, Nest, Google Assistant), central heating & air conditioning, and onsite laundry.

Grill: A propane fuel grill is available for use. We provided gas tanks onsite, however guests may need to refill the tank, if frequently used. Feel free to inquire for further details.

Travel: Be sure to check weather reports to prepare for any changes in road conditions. State Route 18 is the primary route to access Lake Arrowhead.

Lake access: Lake Arrowhead is a private lake. Current Arrowhead Lake Association (ALA) rules in place restrict access to Lake Arrowhead, the ALA Beach Club, the ALA trails, any other ALA facility and/or any dock to all short-term renters. The general public can always access Lake Arrowhead by visiting Arrowhead Village and viewing areas such as Mackay Park. Another nearby alternative is Lake Gregory, which is a beautiful public lake just a short drive away in Crestline. Lake Gregory offers a range of activities and attractions to visitors, including hiking, fishing, swimming, kayaking, boat rental, and even a water park.
