That said... North Park is a lively and fun community. Walk to hip restaurants, cafes, wine bars, brew pubs, shops and fitness centers. We are 2 blocks and a 5 minute walk to Balboa Park's Morley Field where you will find hiking and running trails, a community pool, tennis, golf, an athletic complex, picnic areas, bike track, bocci court, tiny tots play area, and more. A bit farther into the park are the zoo and many museums -- still walking distance or a short ride. You will be 5-10 minutes from downtown hot spots -- Gaslamp, Seaport Village, Little Italy, Convention Center. Only 10 minutes to Coronado Island, a world class destination with beautiful, expansive white sand beaches. Seaworld is about 15 minutes via nearby highway, and easy access to the San Diego Zoo, museums and literally dozens of local restaurants and bars. Balboa Park measuring approximately 1.5 x 1.5 miles and 1200 acres in size, it is one of the largest urban parks in the country and is 2 blocks away.

The house is located a short walk to the seaside cliffs -- a perfect spot to take in the views of the ocean or get in a scenic walk or jog. The neighborhood is residential and during our stay was quite quiet (you'll hear and see planes passing overhead, but they never bothered us). The location is also convenient for all things Mission Beach offers, and it was relatively quiet for being so close to Mission Boulevard. We were there for Thanksgiving week, and our hosts were very responsive. They also provided a lot of toys for us to use. Our only problem was that the convection oven didn't work and we had to figure out how to cook our turkey on the barbecue. Fortunately it came out OK and we have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday."

Although our cottages have ceiling fans, tower fans and access to cool ocean breezes, it can still become uncomfortably hot during an all too common heat wave.So, in order to keep our rental rates lower for all, we have opted to provide portable a/c units for a nominal fee ofUSD 10/day, USD 60/week, or USD 200/month.

Each cottage comes with one off street parking place best suited for compact cars, but can accommodate small SUVs.

Janet & Scott are your hosts. We are a husband and wife team and we live nearby. We own and operate Mission Beach Villas, a highly rated vacation rental management business in San Diego.

We are available 7 am to 10 pm to answer questions during your stay.

Our storefront rental office, Mission Beach Villas, is a mile away as well, so if you need anything feel free to stop by! If you have an early flight, you may stow your luggage at our office so you can go to lunch or hang out on the beach until check-in time. And if you have an afternoon flight on checkout day you may also stow luggage. Just coordinate these details with us and we are happy to accommodate. Please note, we charge a small nominal fee for luggage storage.

Before your stay, we are happy to suggest our favorite restaurants, and tourist attractions and will help you get acquainted with the area.

The best thing about the neighborhood is that there is so much within walking distance that you may not need a car. You could just take a taxi from the airport (6 miles away), get dropped off here and you're at the beach! We have local restaurants, trendy beach bars, excellent coffee spots, and breakfasts cafes all within a few short blocks. Sea World is just 3 miles away.

The location is the best spot of all of Mission Beach. It is on the south side of Santa Clara Place (the only traffic light in North Mission Beach), which means a non district area. It is far enough (1 mile) north of the roller coaster area so it's very removed from the tourist noise. It is off of the main boulevard with friendly neighbors and a quiet homey atmosphere.

Recreational opportunities abound. This beach house is within walking distance to Santa Clara point where there are numerous recreation activities and rentals available including: stand up paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, windsurfing, catamarans, sail boats, water ski boats, and even jet packs. There are group classes and private lessons available in all of these activities. What's more there are free yoga classes each day on the beach and two courts north.

It is equally centered between Belmont Park (the roller coaster area) and Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, which are both 1 mile away, making this location removed from the tourist noise but yet accessible to the action if that's what you want.

There is a fantastic surf spot at the beach out front for beginners to the advanced surfer and great for the spectator as well. There are affordable surf lessons offered daily in the beach right out in front by our friends at Surfari Surf School. What's more, we can point you to all the best surf spots in San Diego County. And we have two world class board shapers who live on our block in case you want to get a new surf board while you are here.

We offer keyless digital entry and you will have private access to the beach house. You may come and go as you please. There are no keys to lose, just a simple 4 digit passcode to remember.

Included with the rental is the use of boogie boards, beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and sand toys for the kids. Plus there is a rental shop just a 3 minute walk away that rents beach cruiser bikes, surfboards, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, etc. They have very affordable rates, plus tell them "Janet & Scott" sent you and the rental shop will give you an additional 15% off!

If you bring a car we will provide you with one parking space on site in the single car garage. Keep in mind that the garage will accommodate only an average sized car. (Please let us know in advanced if you are bringing a car.)

This cozy little beach cottage is positioned in the heart of Mission Beach, a gorgeous beach community on a super narrow strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay. Walk in either direction (West or East) and you'll encounter pristine white beaches. Both sides have wide boardwalks for bicycle riding or walking. On the bay-side you'll enjoy a relaxing sail bay with a calm atmosphere, while on the ocean-side you'll enjoy ocean waves for surfing and a lively beach scene. Either way, you'll call it paradise. We simply call it home!

We flew to CA from the east coast, so it was nice to have so many amenities and supplies provided. We didn't have to rush out for toilet paper and hand soap as soon as we arrived and we had access to beach chairs and towels. There was ample room for 3 adults and our belongings including space for our groceries in the kitchen. We walked a lot of places but also had a rental car for exploring further around San Diego. We are located in a quiet North Park Neighborhood and centrally located to: beaches, airport, downtown, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Sea World, Sea World's Water park, Tijuana, and within walking/biking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars. In addition, all of city of San Diego is under the flight path including Ocean Beach, there is plane noise that starts at 6:30. OB is a bustling & eclectic beach town with lots to offer, please be sure the town & our listing fits your needs before booking.

The beach house is a short 2.5 block walk to Ocean Beach and a quick walk to Newport Avenue bars and restaurants like South Beach Bar & Grille, Hodad's, Wonderland Ocean Pub, & OB Noodle house.

You’ll love my place because of the location, the private parking, wifi, direct TV (showtime/HBO) and the yard. I provide two beach cruisers, two surf boards, small cooler and a wagon.

The space
The house is a cute, newly re-modled 1950's beach house in a prime location to enjoy all that Ocean Beach and San Diego has to offer. It's the perfect location for families, couples or individuals to vacation at the beach and has space for 4 guests and easy access to the beach. Pets are allowed with an additional $45 cleaning fee.

Plan on preparing meals or snacks in the fully stocked kitchen that includes a coffee maker, microwave, blender, dishes, crockpot, pots and pans and storage contains for leftovers. Or if you'd rather take the day off from cooking, many famous and highly suggested restaurants are within a short walk.

When it's time to call it a night the 4 guests can comfortably rest on the queen sized bed in the bedroom and the queen sized pull out couch in the living room.
There is also an elevated air mattress in the closet that quickly and easily inflates.

Private parking is provided for one vehicle, and 2 beach cruiser's are available for use.

Pets are allowed with an additional $45 cleaning fee. The fee will be added after the reservation is made.

The airport flight path is over Ocean Beach and occasionally that impacts our location. Typically the disruptions are minimal (flights run from 6am to 11pm). A white noise device is provided in the rental, but consider using earplugs if you're sensitive.

Garbage pick up is Monday morning and may be a bit loud on occasion.
