Welcome to The Emerald on Bessie in Port Stanley! We just bought this cottage in April 2022 and we have our family cottage around the corner. This gem has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and is just steps to the main beach, and restaurants. It sleeps 6 people with two queen sized beds, a pull out couch (double) and a futon (double). Enjoy sitting outside on the private deck or walk to shops, parks and the main beach. Parking for 2 vehicles, hi-speed Internet, smart TV, central A/C, laundry, dishwasher, BBQ. No pets, please smoke and vape outside. Please bring your own beach towels.

This traditional Ontario cottage rental, Big Fun Little Cottage, is conveniently located in the town of Port Burwell, known as the "Jewel of Erie's North Shore". It is within easy walking distance of stores and restaurants and Port Burwell Beach. The beautiful sandy beach may be the focus of your excursion to Port Burwell and the shallow waters of Lake Erie create ideal swimming opportunities, and the beach is Blue Flag certified for water quality and environmental protection, making it a top destination for groups of all ages. In addition to the sandy beach, you'll find hiking trails, a cold-war era submarine, a marine museum and historic lighthouse, two marinas, and a Provincial Park. It is only a short drive from Toronto (just over 2 hours). Big Fun Little Cottage is a year-round rental, offering peace, relaxation, proximity to shopping and activities, nearby beaches, playgrounds, and parks, and a large, grassy yard that is perfect for playing games or having a nighttime campfire.

The cottage includes one bedroom with a bunk bed, which includes a double bed on the bottom and a single bed over top. In addition, the living room includes a pullout couch (double bed) for additional sleeping and a mattress topper is provided for additional comfort. The large screened-in porch is where you'll want to spend most of your time when at the cottage, providing a perfect space for a group dinner, board games or a few drinks when enjoying the fresh air. The kitchen is equipped with essential utensils, a fridge, hot plate, microwave, and air fryer (there is no stove, oven or dishwasher). There is a Smart TV with a Blu-ray player, and unlimited high-speed internet for your entertainment. The cottage includes a 3-piece bathroom (with accessible shower).

Outside, the large grass yard is perfect for playing games, and includes a fire pit and chimera. There is plenty of seating and the large screened-in porch (accessible from both the interior and exterior) includes a BBQ.

The village of Port Burwell itself is pleasantly quiet yet has many great restaurants, including Izzy Schooner's which is known for its fresh fish and is a short walk from the beach. Popular events like the famous Edison Fest, Port Burwell Tub Daze and the Straffordville Watermelon Fest offer tons of family fun in the area. There are also plenty of winter activities to enjoy in the area - ice fishing off Long Point or Port Rowan, ice skating in the park by the fire hall, tobogganing, or enjoying the trails at either Port Burwell or Long Point Provincial Park. Clovermead is also only a short drive and is perfect for a full day outing with the family.

Port Burwell Provincial Park . Located within walking distance (1 kilometre) from the cottage, this park offers a 2.5 kilometre long sandy beach, dog beach and off-leash area, fishing, hiking trails, disc golf, and is a bird watching paradise!
Long Point Provincial Park . An easy day trip (40 minutes from the cottage) that is located within a World Biosphere Reserve. This Park offers another long strip of sandy beach, and great fishing and boating.
In the winter, while both parks are officially closed, trails can still be accessed for winter hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing; however, the trails are not cleared or groomed by the Park.
Hiking Trails . You will have no shortage of scenic hiking and biking trails around the area. Besides the two Provincial Parks noted above, you'll find hiking trails at Bayham Canyon hiking and lookout spot, and Tillsonburg Conservation Area (Cadman Park - 25 mins away), which has a one kilometer looped trail that's open for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing in the winter.
Clovermead Adventure Farm and Honey Shop is just 25 minutes from the Cottage and has over 50 attractions. Bring your kids to the farm! Whether it's cooling off at the Splish Splashpad, exploring the corn maze, pumpkin picking, tasting some local honey, or visiting the petting zoo, Clovermead has activities for the whole family.

Welcome to Siamo Qui, a historic cottage on the north shore of Port Stanley Ontario with splendid view of lake Erie. Originally built in early nineteenth century(circa 1910). Occupied as a cottage until the late 1980's when owner undertook a restoration, expansion and modernization for use for himself and his extended family where they have gathered all seasons enjoying the beautiful surroundings above the picturesque village and the gracious amenities of this extraordinary property. The exterior, facing the lake rises two stories above the "finest veranda expanse on either shore of lake Erie", on which relaxation and entertainment is enjoyed. Ten minute walk to the village and to Little Beach.

On the main floor, the original living room & fine dining room, which easily accommodates twelve; spacious open kitchen from which flows a smaller dining area and a large family room. All additions to the building have been faithful to the original builders design; high ceilings, pine walls and flooring; bathroom, tub and shower, adjacent to kitchen area; three charming "cottage" type bedrooms.

Second floor; primary ensuite bedroom with a view of the lake which opens to an outdoor porch above the primary veranda; a second ensuite bedroom facing north.

Forced air heat and central air conditioning. Area has full municipal services.

The space
This building is the former kiln masters cottage. The kiln master would have stayed here to tend to the tobacco in the kilns throughout the night. The main room consists of a small kitchenette and a living room with tv, video games, board games and a couch. Wifi available in the cottage. We provide a hot and cold water dispenser, tea and coffee for the Keurig coffee maker. There is a small fridge with freezer, microwave, toaster oven/ air fryer as well as dishes and cutlery for your convenience.

The adjacent room has a full king sized bed with wall mounted tv as well as a full size fooseball table. Bedding is provided for the king bed. We have a fire pit with chopped wood available for you outside. The washroom is located just across the driveway and has a toilet and small sink. The outdoor seasonal shower (NOW OPEN FOR THE SEASON) is located directly off the back deck.

Free parking for up to two vehicles.

Guest access
The cottage will be all yours as well as the washroom attached to the barn. You will also have access to the fire pit area (chairs provided) barbecue and dining table with chairs and umbrella. Please note shower is SEASONAL only, and is now open for the 2025 summer season

Property is a 8 minute drive to Cranberry Creek Gardens, 14 min drive to Turkey Point, 22 min to Port Dover and 37 min to Port Rowan.

This traditional Ontario cottage rental, Big Fun Little Cottage, is conveniently located in the town of Port Burwell, known as the "Jewel of Erie's North Shore". It is within easy walking distance of stores and restaurants and Port Burwell Beach. The beautiful sandy beach may be the focus of your excursion to Port Burwell and the shallow waters of Lake Erie create ideal swimming opportunities, and the beach is Blue Flag certified for water quality and environmental protection, making it a top destination for groups of all ages. In addition to the sandy beach, you'll find hiking trails, a cold-war era submarine, a marine museum and historic lighthouse, two marinas, and a Provincial Park. It is only a short drive from Toronto (just over 2 hours). Big Fun Little Cottage is a year-round rental, offering peace, relaxation, proximity to shopping and activities, nearby beaches, playgrounds, and parks, and a large, grassy yard that is perfect for playing games or having a nighttime campfire.

The cottage includes one bedroom with a queen bed. In addition, the living room includes a pullout couch (double bed) for additional sleeping and a mattress topper is provided for additional comfort. The large screened-in porch is where you'll want to spend most of your time when at the cottage, providing a perfect space for a group dinner, board games or a few drinks when enjoying the fresh air. The kitchen is equipped with essential utensils and appliances (there is no dishwasher). There is a Smart TV with a Blu-ray player, and unlimited high-speed internet for your entertainment. The cottage includes a 3-piece bathroom (with accessible shower).

Outside, the large grass yard is perfect for playing games, and includes a fire pit and chimera. There is plenty of seating and the large screened-in porch (accessible from both the interior and exterior) includes a BBQ.

The village of Port Burwell itself is pleasantly quiet yet has many great restaurants, including Izzy Schooner's which is known for its fresh fish and is a short walk from the beach. Popular events like the famous Edison Fest, Port Burwell Tub Daze, and the Straffordville Watermelon Fest offer tons of family fun in the area. There are also plenty of winter activities to enjoy in the area - ice fishing off Long Point or Port Rowan, ice skating in the park by the fire hall, tobogganing, or enjoying the trails at either Port Burwell or Long Point Provincial Park. Clovermead is also only a short drive and is perfect for a full day outing with the family.

Close-By Attractions

• Port Burwell Provincial Park. Located within walking distance (1 kilometer) from the cottage, this park offers a 2.5 kilometre long sandy beach, dog beach and off-leash area, fishing, hiking trails, disc golf, and is a bird watching paradise!

• Long Point Provincial Park . An easy day trip (40 minutes from the cottage) that is located within a World Biosphere Reserve. This Park offers another long strip of sandy beach, and great fishing and boating.

• In the winter, while both parks are officially closed, trails can still be accessed for winter hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing; however, the trails are not cleared or groomed by the Park.

• Hiking Trails. You will have no shortage of scenic hiking and biking trails around the area. Besides the two Provincial Parks noted above, you'll find hiking trails at Bayham Canyon hiking and lookout spot, and Tillsonburg Conservation Area (Cadman Park - 25 mins away), which has a one-kilometer looped trail that's open for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing in the winter.

• Clovermead Adventure Farm and Honey Shop is just 25 minutes from the Cottage and has over 50 attractions. Bring your kids to the farm! Whether it's cooling off at the Splish Splashpad, exploring the corn maze, pumpkin picking, tasting some local honey, or visiting the petting zoo, Clovermead has activities for the whole family.

The space
Our bright and beachy cottage has two bedrooms + sunroom. A bunk bed with double bed on bottom and single on top (kids only on top bunk) in 1 bedroom, and Day bed that pulls out into a King Size bed in the other room. The bright and cozy sunroom has a Single Day bed.

It is situated on a hillside on a quiet street.

Includes WiFi, a patio set, BBQ, deck, oven with cooktop, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, toaster oven, all kitchen amenities. Blankets/linens and towels are also included.

It is truly the perfect getaway.

Located only a 7 minute walk away from a beautiful Blue Flag Erie Rest Beach; and a short driving distance (or 20 minute walk) to the cute Village of Port Stanley where you will find absolutely unique shopping and dining experiences. Near playgrounds, pickle ball court. Very short drive to golf courses, theatre, restaurants. During Winter and Spring, only when the leaves have fallen there is a Lake View through the tree branches. Each season brings it's magic.

The space
Somerset Cottage is a bright and airy single level dwelling providing increased accessibility to those who may need it. The cottage sleeps a MAXIMUM of 4 adults comfortably and up to 6 with children (12yrs and under). It provides all the necessary amenities and then some. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, a third bedroom with bunk beds. A fully equipped kitchen along with a bbq is available for all your meal prep needs. There is available parking for 2 vehicles.
Other Amenities include: gas fire table, wood burning fire pit, outdoor shower, sand toys, Kayaks, SUP boards (signed waiver required), and more

Other things to note
Please note that our main dining area is outdoors. We do not have a dining table indoors but do have a large island with 4 stools to accommodate a meal. An outdoor heater will be available for outdoor dining in the fall season.

Summer Season: Kayaks, paddle boards, cabanas, loungers, outdoor movies, and outdoor shower are set-up for use May 1 - Oct. 1, weather dependent.

The cottage is suitable for no more than 4 adults and up to 6 with children (0-12) during any given stay.
