Swimming is great in the summer but I recommend water shoes as there are plenty of small round stones with only a smattering here and there of sand.

The bottom is flat and smooth with no rocks, which makes it excellent for swimming.

This brand new custom built cottage is located on Lake Huron just south of MacGregor Point Provincial Park. Stunning lake views out your great room windows. Large kitchen with 10 foot island. Perfect for big family getaways! Evenings can be spent inside by the wood burning fireplace, on the porch, out on the deck or upstairs playing games in the loft. This location is perfect for strolls along the lake and the ideal spot for making s’mores around the outdoor fire pit.
Great place to enjoy the water - swimming, canoeing and kayaking or just making sand castles at the beach! In the winter, enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Plenty of room for our doggies to run although they spent most of the time tethered since they are prone to wander! The beach is quite rocky but again very private so bring the water shoes. The private road in front is great for long walks with plenty of folks walking and exercising. It was a very pleasant experience for all of us and left us many fond memories. Highly recommended."

Sunset Shores Retreat is a peaceful newly built lakeside property that provides a perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The property is located right on the water's edge, offering picturesque views of the lake and the stunning sunsets that light up the sky. The spacious living areas are perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the lake, while the fully equipped kitchen is ideal for preparing meals and enjoying them with family and friends.

This stunning waterfront cottage nestled on 3 acres in a secluded bay on Lake Huron. You'll feel like you're worlds away from the city as soon as you arrive. Soak in the beauty of cottage country with a hike or a swim, and lounge by the water searching for the many fossils that get washed in with the waves. Keep an eye out for bald eagles or deer during your stay. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets and occasional northern lights right on the beach, under the covered porch, or from the comfort of the air-conditioned space inside.

This two year old home is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 people with 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and two sets of pull-out couches. The main "great room" boasts extensive windows to take advantage of the 12' ceilings in the front of the cottage. The well-appointed kitchen features a 12' island, 48" gas range, and a 72" fridge/freezer, adding to the feel of staying in a truly great space. Everything in this home is clean and in great working order.

With two kitchens and living spaces, this cottage is perfect for multiple families or generations. Guests can choose to gather together in the main kitchen in the upper level or spread out and have breakfast on their own at a time that suits everyone best. Having enough space to both be together and spread out helps contribute to an ideal vacation for everyone.

MacGregor Park is just a short walk away, offering groomed trails and other amenities. There is no parking, gate, or admission on the side entrance, so when you enter here, you are entering a much less crowded area with more space to enjoy. Port Elgin is just 12 minutes away, where you can take advantage of the many restaurants, shopping, or spend a day enjoying ice cream and fries on the public beach. Beautiful Southampton is just another 10 minutes up the road if small beach towns are your thing.

There are also a couple of km of uninhabited water front that are perfect for a completely secluded waterfront walk.

Great amenities." - "Our multigenerational family had a terrific week at Sunset Shores this summer - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The house was modern, clean and comfortable with plenty of room for our group of 11 people. The finishes and appliances were new and high-end, so with the house being recently completed, it all felt very luxurious. It was a big bonus for us to have kitchens on both floors so we could make downstairs the early-bird breakfast/kid zone and upstairs the "quiet" area as some of us were coming from different time zones. Being lakefront the location was amazing. The park is just a few minutes walk down the road - great for birdwatching, mountain biking, jogging or just taking a stroll. There are only a few houses on the dead-end road so we usually had the whole beach to ourselves - it felt like we were somewhere remote at our own private getaway but with the conveniences of Port Elgin only 10 to 15min drive away with supermarkets, restaurants, Walmart, Canadian Tire etc. Heather and Graham were lovely, thoughtful hosts - easy to communicate with, responded quickly to questions and made us feel very welcomed. We spent every day using the canoes, paddleboards, looking for fossils, chilling and having sunset campfires. It was a wonderful holiday!"

This cozy mid-century modern cottage has all of the upgrades to make you feel more at home, including a smart TV, Wifi, heat, air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of seating both indoor and out, so you have a comfortable place to relax in rain, shine, or snow.

Guests have access to the entire cottage and deck area.

The Neighborhood:
One of the most beautiful views along the Huron shoreline, it is a little known place that you will certainly want to return to year after year. Inverhuron Provincial Park is a 1 minute walk in one direction, and the sandy Inverhuron Beach is a 2 minute walk in the other direction.
Kincardine is a 15 minute drive South. Port Elgin is a 20 minute drive North. Both have lots of shops, cafes, and grocery stores for your convenience.

Getting Around:
A vehicle is required to access this cottage.
WINTER TIME ADVISORY: The street is managed by a private snow removal company. They are supposed to come within 24hrs after a snowfall, but this may not always coincide with your check-in date/time and sometimes it can snow quite a bit up there. If you are booking for the winter time, then please be sure you have an appropriate vehicle and bring a shovel just in case you get stuck! There will also always be a shovel on the property as well.

Other Things to Note:
Please let us know in advance if you are bringing a pet for your stay. This space is pet friendly, however, there is an additional charge.

Please note: There is a 3-night minimum on weekends year-round and a 3-night minimum between Victoria Day and Labour Day. Some exceptions may apply for last minute bookings, so please inquire.

DRINKING WATER: We installed a new water filtration system for 2022 that makes the water more drinkable, however, please note that it is still well water, so if you prefer to bring your own water for larger consumption then please do.

Interaction with Guests:
The cottage is set up for self check-in.
We are just a phone call or text message away, and very responsive. However, we are not located nearby, so will only be available to come up in an emergency.

- "This location is perfect. If you want to go for a hike or take a swim in the clear beautiful lake, they are only a few mins away. Quiet during the day and night. The cottage itself has nice big windows to see the great scenery and the inside is Very modernized and looks beautiful. The lot is very big and you have lots of room to run around and play. Me and my family had a great time and the hosts were amazing . Place was spot clean and always caring to our needs even though they were not around as you have the whole area to yourself. Definitely a 5 star in our books. Thank you guys again."

OUTSIDE:
The back patio is your home base for relaxation and connection. You can start your morning with coffee on the “honeymoon deck”, sneak in a nap in the hammock, or cozy up with a book on the outdoor couch shaded by an umbrella.

When it’s time to eat, fire up the gas BBQ and gather around the 4-person patio table for easy family meals. The kids (and kids-at-heart) can run free in the yard, challenge each other to a game of ladderball, or chase the dog under the trees. As night falls, light the firepit, toast marshmallows, and let the conversation drift under the stars.

NOTE: 2 min walk to Lake access and approx. 25 stairs to the beach. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

Lots of room for fun in the sun, across the street from Lake Huron (1 min walk). This newly furnished home nestled in a quaint and quiet beachside community is your new home away from home with all of the necessities and a big backyard for barbecuing, lounging, campfires, hot tub and more.

The Space:
This is a side-split home, with three bedrooms and a full bathroom on the upper level, a kitchen, dining and living room on the main level with a deck off of the back, and a cozy family room with a natural gas fireplace on the lower part with more deck out of the sliding doors. The deck is equipped with a big propane BBQ and table and chairs for outdoor dining, as well as plenty of space and seating for lounging. Lounge on the loungers in the sunny yard, and enjoy a cozy fire around the fire pit.

New outdoor HOT TUB installed Aug 2023! Must sign liability form in advance to access.

Guest Access:
The space is only rented to one group at a time and is completely private. You will also have access to bikes (in the garage), some yard games (in the shed in the backyard), board games, etc. If you'd like access to the hot tub, a liability form must be signed in advance. Please ask your host for more details.

The Neighborhood:
Lake Huron Highland is a lovely little neighbourhood, nestled into Lake Huron, just north of Kincardine, but close enough to easily pop in for some groceries or shopping along the lakeside downtown strip.

- "Nice place but if you’re staying more than a few days bring extra TP. Unfortunately the fridge was broken during our stay, lucky we had a cooler, mini fridge provided was very small. The hot tub would have been nice to use but chemical's were not maintained. In a very quiet neighborhood and grounds are well maintained. All and all was a nice olde to stay just unfortunate about the fridge and hot tub."
