Swimming is great in the summer but I recommend water shoes as there are plenty of small round stones with only a smattering here and there of sand.

The view is spectacular and the sunsets are even better. A cottage right on sandy dune beaches will have you thinking you are in northern california. The bottom is flat and smooth with no rocks, which makes it excellent for swimming.

This brand new custom built cottage is located on Lake Huron just south of MacGregor Point Provincial Park. Stunning lake views out your great room windows. Large kitchen with 10 foot island. Perfect for big family getaways! Evenings can be spent inside by the wood burning fireplace, on the porch, out on the deck or upstairs playing games in the loft. This location is perfect for strolls along the lake and the ideal spot for making s’mores around the outdoor fire pit.
Great place to enjoy the water - swimming, canoeing and kayaking or just making sand castles at the beach! In the winter, enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Plenty of room for our doggies to run although they spent most of the time tethered since they are prone to wander! The beach is quite rocky but again very private so bring the water shoes. The private road in front is great for long walks with plenty of folks walking and exercising. It was a very pleasant experience for all of us and left us many fond memories. Highly recommended."

Sunset Shores Retreat is a peaceful newly built lakeside property that provides a perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The property is located right on the water's edge, offering picturesque views of the lake and the stunning sunsets that light up the sky. This stunning waterfront cottage nestled on 3 acres in a secluded bay on Lake Huron. You'll feel like you're worlds away from the city as soon as you arrive. Soak in the beauty of cottage country with a hike or a swim, and lounge by the water searching for the many fossils that get washed in with the waves. Keep an eye out for bald eagles or deer during your stay. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets and occasional northern lights right on the beach, under the covered porch, or from the comfort of the air-conditioned space inside.

This two year old home is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 10 people with 5 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and two sets of pull-out couches. The main "great room" boasts extensive windows to take advantage of the 12' ceilings in the front of the cottage. The well-appointed kitchen features a 12' island, 48" gas range, and a 72" fridge/freezer, adding to the feel of staying in a truly great space. Everything in this home is clean and in great working order.

With two kitchens and living spaces, this cottage is perfect for multiple families or generations. Guests can choose to gather together in the main kitchen in the upper level or spread out and have breakfast on their own at a time that suits everyone best. Having enough space to both be together and spread out helps contribute to an ideal vacation for everyone.

MacGregor Park is just a short walk away, offering groomed trails and other amenities. There is no parking, gate, or admission on the side entrance, so when you enter here, you are entering a much less crowded area with more space to enjoy. Port Elgin is just 12 minutes away, where you can take advantage of the many restaurants, shopping, or spend a day enjoying ice cream and fries on the public beach. Beautiful Southampton is just another 10 minutes up the road if small beach towns are your thing.

There are also a couple of km of uninhabited water front that are perfect for a completely secluded waterfront walk.

Great amenities." - "Our multigenerational family had a terrific week at Sunset Shores this summer - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The house was modern, clean and comfortable with plenty of room for our group of 11 people. The finishes and appliances were new and high-end, so with the house being recently completed, it all felt very luxurious. It was a big bonus for us to have kitchens on both floors so we could make downstairs the early-bird breakfast/kid zone and upstairs the "quiet" area as some of us were coming from different time zones. Being lakefront the location was amazing. The park is just a few minutes walk down the road - great for birdwatching, mountain biking, jogging or just taking a stroll. There are only a few houses on the dead-end road so we usually had the whole beach to ourselves - it felt like we were somewhere remote at our own private getaway but with the conveniences of Port Elgin only 10 to 15min drive away with supermarkets, restaurants, Walmart, Canadian Tire etc. Heather and Graham were lovely, thoughtful hosts - easy to communicate with, responded quickly to questions and made us feel very welcomed. We spent every day using the canoes, paddleboards, looking for fossils, chilling and having sunset campfires. It was a wonderful holiday!"

The Neighborhood:
One of the most beautiful views along the Huron shoreline, it is a little known place that you will certainly want to return to year after year. Inverhuron Provincial Park is a 1 minute walk in one direction, and the sandy Inverhuron Beach is a 2 minute walk in the other direction.
Kincardine is a 15 minute drive South. Port Elgin is a 20 minute drive North. Both have lots of shops, cafes, and grocery stores for your convenience.

Getting Around:
A vehicle is required to access this cottage.
WINTER TIME ADVISORY: The street is managed by a private snow removal company. They are supposed to come within 24hrs after a snowfall, but this may not always coincide with your check-in date/time and sometimes it can snow quite a bit up there. If you are booking for the winter time, then please be sure you have an appropriate vehicle and bring a shovel just in case you get stuck! There will also always be a shovel on the property as well.

Other Things to Note:
Please let us know in advance if you are bringing a pet for your stay. This space is pet friendly, however, there is an additional charge.

Please note: There is a 3-night minimum on weekends year-round and a 3-night minimum between Victoria Day and Labour Day. Some exceptions may apply for last minute bookings, so please inquire.

DRINKING WATER: We installed a new water filtration system for 2022 that makes the water more drinkable, however, please note that it is still well water, so if you prefer to bring your own water for larger consumption then please do.

Interaction with Guests:
The cottage is set up for self check-in.
We are just a phone call or text message away, and very responsive. However, we are not located nearby, so will only be available to come up in an emergency.

- "This location is perfect. If you want to go for a hike or take a swim in the clear beautiful lake, they are only a few mins away. Quiet during the day and night. The cottage itself has nice big windows to see the great scenery and the inside is Very modernized and looks beautiful. The lot is very big and you have lots of room to run around and play. Me and my family had a great time and the hosts were amazing . Place was spot clean and always caring to our needs even though they were not around as you have the whole area to yourself. Definitely a 5 star in our books. Thank you guys again."

When it’s time to eat, fire up the gas BBQ and gather around the 4-person patio table for easy family meals. The kids (and kids-at-heart) can run free in the yard, challenge each other to a game of ladderball, or chase the dog under the trees. As night falls, light the firepit, toast marshmallows, and let the conversation drift under the stars.

NOTE: 2 min walk to Lake access and approx. 25 stairs to the beach. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

The Space:
This is a side-split home, with three bedrooms and a full bathroom on the upper level, a kitchen, dining and living room on the main level with a deck off of the back, and a cozy family room with a natural gas fireplace on the lower part with more deck out of the sliding doors. The deck is equipped with a big propane BBQ and table and chairs for outdoor dining, as well as plenty of space and seating for lounging. Lounge on the loungers in the sunny yard, and enjoy a cozy fire around the fire pit.

New outdoor HOT TUB installed Aug 2023! Must sign liability form in advance to access.

Guest Access:
The space is only rented to one group at a time and is completely private. You will also have access to bikes (in the garage), some yard games (in the shed in the backyard), board games, etc. If you'd like access to the hot tub, a liability form must be signed in advance. Please ask your host for more details.

The Neighborhood:
Lake Huron Highland is a lovely little neighbourhood, nestled into Lake Huron, just north of Kincardine, but close enough to easily pop in for some groceries or shopping along the lakeside downtown strip.

- "Nice place but if you’re staying more than a few days bring extra TP. Unfortunately the fridge was broken during our stay, lucky we had a cooler, mini fridge provided was very small. The hot tub would have been nice to use but chemical's were not maintained. In a very quiet neighborhood and grounds are well maintained. All and all was a nice olde to stay just unfortunate about the fridge and hot tub."

A lovely cottage (1200 sq. ft.) with two bedrooms and 1 bath. One bedroom has a queen bed, second bedroom has a king (can convert to a twin) as well as bunk beds. There is a full bath with tub and shower and full laundry in the basement. It is available weekly only, Sun-Sun.

The cottage has beautiful views of Inverhuron Bay from the living bay window and is just steps from the shores of Lake Huron. Your group can enjoy barbeques and bonfires on the large double deck with spectacular sunset views. It is only a short (5 min) walk to the beautiful, Inverhuron sand beach, children's playground and Inverhuron Provincial Park.

There is a fully equiped kitchen, air conditioning, high speed internet and a TV with Chromecast. The lower level of the house is rented year round to a permanent renter. The units are absolutely separate with no shared spaces.

For hygenic reasons, linens and towels are not provided. Beds will have duvets and quilts and renters are expected to provide top and fitted sheets as well as pillowcases. Since municipal waste programs vary significantly we request that if at all possible you sort your waste as you normally would and take your garbage and recycling home with you when you leave to be disposed of in your own municipality.

It is expected that renters leave the property clean and tidy for the next guests, just as they found it. A cleaning checklist cleaning equipment and supplies will be provided

Custom built Scandinavian style 1800 square feet log cottage on private 64 acres with rare 1200 feet waterfront. Logs for the home were harvested from the land and stones for the fireplace are from this lake!

Located just 12 minute drive from Port Elgin. Starlink internet included to make your work from home possible while vacationing at the cottage!

Water slope is gradual, suitable for swimming and small boating (no dock). Waterfront has sandy beach areas, pebble beach areas, and round-rock areas. (Water shoes required). We have one tandom kayak and one sit on kayak along with life jackets for your enjoyment of the lake.

Walk over to the adjacent MacGregor Point Provincial Park (3,000 acres), featuring sand beaches, groomed bicycle trails, boardwalks, hiking trails, renowned bird-watching venues and a look-out tower. On a hot sunny day, you’ll find the shade and coolness of the natural tree canopy to be a pleasant break from the sunny beach.

While relaxing on the spacious front deck, marvel at the gorgeous full view of Lake Huron and a front-row seat for the magnificent sunsets. In the evenings, enjoy the warmth of a campfire while roasting some s'mores on the lake!

The Space:

The kitchen is bright and functional with it's own area dedicated to coffee, and connects to a cozy dining room that looks out into the treed yard. There is one main floor bedroom (queen bed) and half bathroom, while remaining three bedrooms and full bathroom are upstairs. There is an ottoman at the end of the king size bed that pulls out into a double bed with a memory foam mattress. All beds have high end memory foam mattresses (no Ikea mattresses here!) for a comfortable sleep.
A large backyard with a fire pit for s'mores and more, and a sizeable recreational room in the basement with a TV, bumper pool table, and plenty of other games.

Inver Winds Retreat is a cozy and rustic cottage located in the gorgeous community of Inverhuron which is on the beautiful waters of Lake Huron. The cottage is simple and homey and it’s our aim to keep it that way! Inverhuron Beach is a quick walk down the road (8 minutes) and the private yard allows you space to spread out and relax. We hope the cottage becomes part of your holiday memories spent with family and friends!

The space
A cozy and rustic family cottage in Inverhuron, just outside of Tiverton and close to Kincardine. A short walk (8 minutes) from Inverhuron Beach and a short 5 minute drive to Tiverton for your LCBO and grocery needs. Also in town is a great pub, The King’s Pearl.

The cottage has three full bedrooms. There are a total of 4 beds.

Bedroom 1: 1 queen bed
Bedroom 2: 1 double bed
Bedroom 3: 1 single bed and one set of bunk beds

This cozy and homey cottage was built in the 1950s but has been renovated. A full kitchen with fridge, range, toaster, kettle, Keurig coffee maker (reusable pods provided) pots, pans, dishes and everything else you might need in the way of tools. A propane BBQ is available for grilling, or for the full cottage experience, there is a fire pit! Roasting marshmallows while sitting around the fire pit and looking up at the starry sky is a great way to spend a summer night! The beach is located a short walk down the main Inverhuron road (Bruce Road 15) on which we are located. There are two beach chairs for your use, a yard game and hammock to set up for relaxation time.

The cottage is located on a large lot (120 x200 feet) surrounded by forest on three sides creating a very private experience in the back yard. There is space to easily park up to three cars in the driveway.

For your enjoyment indoors are several board games and a deck of cards.

Bring your own sheets and towels. Pillows are provided for you.

Our cottage has its own dedicated well. The water in this region is 'hard water' (mineral rich). It does have a distinct taste, so we prefer to buy bottled water to drink. A water cooler is provided along with a spare jug for each stay. We will ensure there is a jug in use for each stay however, it is up to the guest to have these filled when needed. We participate in the Sobeys water jug exchange program (located in Kincardine). We use tap water for washing dishes and vegetables, etc, and bottled water for drinking, making tea, etc.

This is a family cottage with a long history (built in the 1950s). Because it is so close to our hearts, we will only rent to responsible guests who will respect the cottage, its contents, and the property. Guests who book a stay in our cottage agree to the terms and conditions listed in the "House Rules" section in addition to the standard Airbnb policies. Renters must have a fully completed profile that includes "OfflineID" verification and a clear, recent, face shot photograph.

Joel and I are have been restoring and renovating the cottage since we took ownership in 2019. The old gal has needed some work in order to ensure she can be enjoyed for years to come.

In 2020, we tore down and built a new shed. The shed stores outdoor supplies as well as garbage and recycling.

In 2021, we did a major interior renovation, we redesigned the main floor layout, completed a new (and beautiful) bathroom, transforming from an old stall and pedestal sink to tub and spacious vanity, laid a knotty pine floor throughout, installed a heat and A/C unit for more comfort. The less fun things like electrical and insulation were updated too.

In 2022, we are updated the living space windows and exterior doors, as well as putting on new siding (that matches the shed).

Quaint, private 2 bedroom cottage, very short walk ( 3-5 minutes) to beautiful beach on Lake Huron, perfect for reconnecting with your family and recharging your batteries. Double, well treed lot provides additional privacy and includes a ping pong table, a fire pit, and a variety of additional games. Or just sit and enjoy the peace with your favourite book.

Lake views can be appreciated from the living room, dining room and two bedrooms. We are located just steps to the beach! Fill the provided cooler with snacks, grab the provided beach chairs and enjoy the day at the beach. Note pet fee $100 for one pet, please check off when booking. We are currently personally restoring this 1961 A-frame Lakehouse on an ongoing basis. Some items are still in progress! Much care and attention is going into the restoration. This will not affect your stay but something worth noting if you are looking for perfection.

The kitchen is equipped with all the tools you need for home cooked meals. Please be aware that there are no food products stocked including salt and pepper (unless they have been left by a previous guest). There is wifi and a smart TV to stream or watch Roger's cable. There is a deck with a propane BBQ and patio set for your use. Please be aware that the property is set just off the parking lot and a main thorough-way down to the beach which can be busy on the weekends.

Welcome to our family cottage! Tucked away in a corner lot on a quiet street, surrounded by mature trees, and only steps through a private trail to the shores of beautiful Lake Huron. Much to explore with nearby hiking/biking trails, swimming, boat launch, and two provincial parks. Or just relax with nature from the comfort of the deck or hot tub. - Weekly rentals only from Sun to Sun. The space
When you go inside, the outside will follow you with huge floor to ceiling windows adjacent to open concept dining, kitchen and livingroom with fireplace. Upstairs offers three bedrooms, one king room with a full master ensuite, a second queen room, and a third room with double sized bunkbeds. The finished basement offers comfy sofas with a projector screen to relax and watch a movie after a long day at the beach.

The cottage exterior boasts a huge wrap around deck, with outdoor dining table, and covered lounge area right beside the hot tub. The surrounding grounds offer a big driveway with ample parking, rustic basketball net, and fire pit. Lots of space for kiddos to play... in addition to a small playground down the street.

Our property is not waterfront. But walk through our private wooded trail about 200 steps to the lake, where you can relax on a small rocky beach while enjoying famous Lake Huron sunsets. *Note: Our shoreline is secluded , but not privately owned so you will see people occasionally walking by. It is also not maintained, and inclement weather + changing lake water levels can dramatically alter its landscape. It is pure rock with some weeds in the water, with sand/rock combo on the shoreline. Not the best spot on Lake Huron for swimming....water shoes strongly recommended if you venture in!

**Summer Shoreline 2025** Record low water levels continue this year contributing to a lingering silt buildup that looks a bit swampy with increase vegetation growth. It's a rustic shoreline, but still great for sunbathing, sand play & nature exploring for kids. The evening sunsets from our location are absolutely stunning!

For proper sandy beach swimming, there are many beautiful beaches all within a 15minute drive from the cottage. Our favourites are the picturesque beaches and hiking trails of Inverhuron Provincial Park and MacGregor Point Provincial Park. Also the local towns of Port Elgin and Kincardine both have beaches with volleyball courts, dining, shopping and more. Easy to make a day trip in either of these quaint coastal towns.

The Hemlock Hideaway cottage is spacious and yet filled with coziness. Outside there is a large deck and wooded area, while the front has a great porch, fire pit, and lawn. Inside is open concept, with a modern kitchen, a large dining table, and two sitting areas, one with a fireplace. The bedrooms are all roomy and have enough space for you to feel at home. We are a 6 minute walk to the beach, close to hiking trails, 10 minutes to Kincardine. Inverhuron is the perfect location.

The space
The cottage is hidden away like a secret garden, the perfect place to retreat too. A very short walk to the beach, trails, and kids park. Kincardine is a short 10 minute drive away, Port Elgin is less then 20 minutes away, and for those working in the area Bruce Power less then 10 minutes. A new restaurant opened up just down the street called Fin’s and has amazing fish and chips! Hemlock Hideaway is the ideal location for your travels.

This is where you’ll gather for movie marathons, rainy day laughs, or just to unwind after a beach day. There’s even a dedicated games and puzzle table, always ready for a new challenge or quiet bonding time.

OUTSIDE:
The back patio is your home base for relaxation and connection. You can start your morning with coffee on the “honeymoon deck”, sneak in a nap in the hammock, or cozy up with a book on the outdoor couch shaded by an umbrella.

When it’s time to eat, fire up the gas BBQ and gather around the 4-person patio table for easy family meals. The kids (and kids-at-heart) can run free in the yard, challenge each other to a game of ladderball, or chase the dog under the trees. As night falls, light the firepit, toast marshmallows, and let the conversation drift under the stars.

NOTE: 2 min walk to Lake access and approx. 25 stairs to the beach. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.

The space
Custom built Scandinavian style 1800 square feet log cottage on private 64 acres with rare 1200 feet waterfront. Logs for the home were harvested from the land and stones for the fireplace are from this lake!

Located just 12 minute drive from Port Elgin. Starlink internet included to make your work from home possible while vacationing at the cottage!

Water slope is gradual, suitable for swimming and small boating (no dock). Waterfront has sandy beach areas, pebble beach areas, and round-rock areas. (Water shoes required). We have one tandom kayak and one sit on kayak along with life jackets for your enjoyment of the lake.
 
Walk over to the adjacent MacGregor Point Provincial Park (3,000 acres), featuring sand beaches, groomed bicycle trails, boardwalks, hiking trails, renowned bird-watching venues and a look-out tower. On a hot sunny day, you’ll find the shade and coolness of the natural tree canopy to be a pleasant break from the sunny beach.

While relaxing on the spacious front deck, marvel at the gorgeous full view of Lake Huron and a front-row seat for the magnificent sunsets. In the evenings, enjoy the warmth of a campfire while roasting some s'mores on the lake!
 
Families and friends will connect in the open-concept of the great room (living/kitchen/dining), with hardwood floors throughout. Groups with differing ages or social styles will appreciate being able to split away into 2 separate living rooms.

Basement open space is also set up with a TV and a video game system.
