The beaches of Polzeath, just minutes from Port Isaac, are great for surfing, and with many local schools and hire shops, this is the perfect opportunity to try this fast growing water sport.

The magical South West Coast Path has some of the most stunning walks and views you could imagine. The stretch from Polzeath to Padstow, which passes the Church of St Enodoc at Daymer Bay, the final resting place of Sir John Betjeman, is a favourite of locals and holidaymakers alike. Port Isaac is also a great base for touring, and Tintagel with its Arthurian legends, and Bodmin Moor with its literary connections, are easily reached, making Moonraker the perfect choice to not only enjoy Port Isaac but other wonderful parts of Cornwall too. - "Was a great week and the owner was very accommodating . I was also very helpful with various things that we wanted to know 😀👌" - "We loved our stay at Moonraker. The house is beautifully appointed, in a great location in the pretty village of Port Isaac, a short walk down to the harbour and village and a slightly longer, uphill walk back! It's decorated to a very high standards and all appliances are top of the range, in the kitchen we particularly loved the cold water and ice dispenser in the huge fridge/freezer and of course the hot tub was a real treat. Wonderful as the house was, with huge garden with wonderful hot tub, summer house and seating, we did think that the "finishing touches" were lacking, especially when you're paying over £1,500 for 7 nights. These aren't complaints, they are just suggestions which could turn a wonderful holiday home into a truly outstanding one. 1. The hot tub is fabulous. But, there were no towels provided for use with it. Usually I would expect there to be towels provided for all guests, plus bathrobes and slippers at least in the master bedroom. 2. The crockery provided was clunky and boring grey. Very uninspiring and not very pleasant to use, the mugs in particular were nasty to drink from, far too thick. I actually purchased a cup & saucer in the village to use. Not everybody likes drinking out of mugs! 3. No toiletries were provided. In this day and age when you are providing a premium service it is usual to provide miniature sizes of shower gel, shampoo and soap. 4. No toothbrush mugs in the bathrooms - do you really want us to use glasses from the kitchen for this? Can I just re-iterate that this is me being VERY picky, we loved your home, it was one of the best places we've stayed in and will definitely be back!"

This detached fisherman’s loft, set on a quiet street in Port Isaac, will not fail to impress. Knights Den, with its raised secluded courtyard which is perfect for al fresco meals, is a short stroll from the stunning picturesque coastline, village and harbour of this famous fishing village. Most commonly known as Port Wenn from TV’s Doc Martin series, and home to the Fishermen’s Friends, a sea shanty folk group, the village retains its local charm and feel due to its strong community. The coastline is typically Cornish, with soaring cliffs, remote coves, hidden bays and golden crescents of sand.

The coastal path can be easily reached from Knights Den and will lead you to Polzeath, a surfing mecca and pretty little town, and eventually towards Rock and Padstow. Tintagel, the mystical seat of King Arthur, is a short drive along the coast and the castle is a must for all. Golf courses galore can be found close by, from the Point at Polzeath to St Enodoc, which are great links courses and only minutes away. The inland town of Wadebridge, which sits on the River Camel, is a quaint, local market town with great local pubs and restaurants. The town has many bike hire centres as it sits on the Camel Trail, with Bodmin in one direction and Padstow in the other. A favourite ride is onto Padstow along the multi-use trail following the estuary, grabbing fish and chips on the quayside and a pint in a local pub, fortifying yourself for the ride back along the trail.

Port Isaac, although sitting on the north coast of Cornwall, is easily reached and a good base for exploring the county. Newquay, Truro, Bodmin and the south Cornwall coast are all easily reached, but if you wish to do nothing and enjoy the beach, the harbour and the Michelin starred restaurants, then Knights Den is a great place to spend the week. - "Warm and dry. Very clean. Well equipped. Great lication. Good sized garage parking. Rear patio gets some sun in the afternoon. Pets allowed but not upstairs or on the furniture with the threat of an additional charge if they make a mess. Luckily our dog never jumps up on the sofa or sleeps at the end of the bed but I'm guessing some do." - "We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Folly and will definitely come back. Two observations. One - there was a washing machine but nowhere to dry - no line or area or anything so washing had to be hung over chairs and tables for 2 days to dry, not ideal. Secondly, property advertised as Dog Friendly but rules in property were so limiting that suggested property owners did not have a dog. Also, a large part of the fence in the back garden was missing, hidden by a bush, which we found out to our cost when we received a phone call from someone well into the village who had found our dog, who we hadn't realised had found his way out of the garden. For safety reasons we could not open the doors at any time we were in the house, meaning at all times the dog was limited to the main room only. Again, not ideal"

Location is great - near everything but not noisey. Easy parking as well which is a god send in Port Isaac. Amazing views. My only complaint would be the very late check in and the very early check out and the slightly scary/threatening instructions that the whole house had to be clean and beds stripped and floors hoovered before the 9.30 check out time. This made for a stressful final morning which somewhat tarnished our stay abit. We were in the house for only two nights and it is not cheap at £1500 for the two nights. I wd presume cleaners wd come in after we left so why are guests expected to do their job for them - right down to an instruction to empty the dishwasher…, so not too happy about that but all in all we had a lovely time and the house and views are worth a visit. Just be aware of cleaning regime and check in/out times. "

Town: Port Isaac is one of Cornwall's best-kept secrets. Fishing villages nestled in steep valleys, the old hamlet remains untouched from its days of fishing, exporting slate, and running smuggling gangs in the last century. It's easy to go to the village's numerous restaurants and stores, which are supplemented by a wide variety of little character homes. As the tide goes out, the sandy harbour becomes a haven for rock pools. A short drive from the Polzeath, Daymer, and Rock beaches, this property is ideal for both a romantic getaway and a family vacation. At the very top of the village, there is plenty of space for vehicles to park.

- "Really good overall and excellent in every way but should note dont keep food out! Left the bread out (in wrapper) the first night and the mice got to it! It is part of country living and no problem but worth a warning! We had a wonderful time and would definitely go again. Rooftop terrace was wonderful and position is perfect."

The old village in the valley, a beautiful fishing village nestled in a steep sided valley, has remained unchanged since its days of fishing, slate export, and smuggling in the previous century. There are numerous small character properties, as well as larger cliff-top retreats, with easy access to the village's numerous restaurants and shops. As the tide recedes, the sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools. There is plenty of parking at the top of the village, and it is a popular tourist destination with many attractions such as the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay, and the famous Doc Martin's clinic.

The space
Twizzle Twig is based in the heart of the beautiful village of Port Gaverne.
A perfect escape in the winter months as a warm cosy space after enjoy peaceful walks. Or in the summer months as a base to explore and enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer.
Private parking is located immediately at the front of the property and is suitable for 2-3 vehicles.
Upon entering the cottage there is a hallway with a hanging area and a storage trunk.
The sitting room includes comfortable seating areas, open fire (wood/ coal) with fireguard and a television.
The dining room has a table with seating for six and the room opens directly into a well equipped kitchen.
The kitchen has all necessary items including: kettle, fridge- freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine.
Double doors lead to the outdoor enclosed patio area. Outdoor seating area includes table and cushioned seating. Beanbags are also available for the sun worshippers! The large outdoor patio area catches the sun all day and has an outdoor hose with side access to the property - perfect for washing off your surfboard or wetsuits! There is an outdoor rack for drying/ washing paddle boards. Clothing line and pegs available in the garden.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom.
All bedrooms have underbed storage and there is hanging space in the single bedroom.
Beds are all antique iron beds with modern mattresses for your comfort.
The family bathroom is located upstairs including a shower/bath.
There is also a downstairs toilet and basin.
Twizzle Twig provides the perfect base for any getaway whether you prefer activity, relaxation.. or a mixture of the two!

The space
Thrift Cottage is part of a delightful collection of restored 18th Century Cornish buildings, and was originally part of a large cob barn used by local fisherman for centuries. It has now been adapted into a cosy one bedroom cottage retaining its history, whilst being refined into a modern holiday retreat perfect for couples.

The accommodation is spread across one ground-floor level; the open plan kitchen complete with Delabole slate floor, and dining/living area looking out onto the courtyard garden, allowing access to the sun loungers for catching some rays or perfect for an evening barbecue. The double bedroom leads into a shower room, which provides a compact and intimate holiday cottage. Parking is conveniently available in a private car park nearby.

The space
This two-storey cottage has a reverse-level layout with the front door accessing the living area on the top floor of the cottage, by way of slate steps. The holiday home enjoys a spacious open plan living space, with tasteful decor, furnishings and artworks. The bedrooms below are also lovely and bright, comfortably sleeping four with easy access to the enclosed communal garden.

Marigold is the ideal cottage for a family, two couples or a group who want to holiday together in one of our other properties at Port Gaverne (we have 10 in total). Dogs are most welcome, and you have your own private parking space nearby.

Guest access
Guests check-in themselves using the key safe provided. The house is exclusively for the guests, and there is a large communal garden which is shared with the other cottages in Port Gaverne.

The space
Venus Cottage is ideal for a family of up to four — but couples also love it for its exclusive feel and the benefit of being able to spend hours relaxing on the balcony. Dogs are very welcome here, especially as this is one of the few beaches in Cornwall that allows dogs all year round. You also have your own allocated private parking.

With one elevation facing the sea it has the benefit of great views from its balcony so you can enjoy watching the comings and goings of the cove, and beyond that the beach and wild Atlantic. At the same time you’ll feel very much part of our seaside village community, close to the pub and café.

'Rashleigh Cottage' is a beautifully bright and spacious retreat in Port Gaverne with its own small private terrace area, enjoying sea views. The space
Nestling in the beautiful and secluded cove of Port Gaverne lies a delightful collection of 18th Century Cornish buildings that have been restored to a beautiful standard to create holiday homes by the sea. One of these is Rashleigh Cottage; a lovely space for a family or group of friends.

Access to Rashleigh Cottage is on the same level as the parking. Inside you’ll find a small but very well equipped kitchen, and adjoining this an open-plan dining area and lounge for six guests. The decor is beachy and natural, with rustic pine floorboards, comfy furniture, and original artworks, giving a relaxed and easygoing atmosphere. The property has two spacious double bedrooms and also a twin room, all are light and airy with windows to the courtyard garden or skylights. A bathroom with shower and additional separate WC complete the accommodation.

In front of the property, and accessed through patio doors is the terrace. It has seating for al fresco dining and is sheltered, and sunny most of the day. You also have access to a separate shared courtyard garden area which sits at the heart of the cottages here.

The cottage is tastefully furnished with Victorian pine furniture, and the large window in the kitchen/dining/living room overlooks the courtyard garden, flooding this welcoming room with morning sunshine. The king and single bedrooms and the bathroom lead off the living area. Solid oak and tiled floors enrich this cottage and cosy furniture make relaxing a pleasure after a bracing walk along the coast before sampling locally caught fish or tasting the ale in the pub opposite.

The space
Slate steps lead up to the property, into a wonderfully bright and spacious living area. Attractive wooden furniture, stripped pine floors and a vaulted ceiling complement the open plan arrangement of kitchen, dining room and lounge area. Whitewashed walls accentuate the local artwork, whilst inviting sofas create a snug atmosphere. The well-equipped kitchen area has all you’ll need to rustle up delights when you are not eating out and you a have a rustic wooden table and chairs for four. The views onto the courtyard garden and country lane give the upstairs area a fresh feel.

As you go down the carpeted stairs you will find the two spacious bedrooms; one with a double bed, and the other with twin beds and access to the courtyard outside through doors. Both come with ample built in wardrobes, shelves and chests-of-drawers. Garden furniture and sun loungers make the slate terrace outside the bedroom door an ideal place to catch some sun on your doorstep, and your private parking is conveniently located nearby. Both bedrooms are bright and airy due to the large windows and doors allowing natural light to flood in.

Courtyard Cottage is cosy and practical, with everything you possibly need. There is a real country cottage feel of the stripped pine floor, you’ll feel yourself stepping back in time. The reverse level layout and open plan design of the living area encourages an easygoing holiday with plenty of conversation.
