We arrived and our first cottage absolute stunk of damp. We had to be moved and the second cottage was ok. Definitely not 4* and not a king size bed! The shower makes a screeching noise when on loud and there is no air circulation in the cottages. This was the end of our honeymoon and we ended up leaving a night early because we were so disappointed and the owner doesn’t seem to have a clue! Boiler made noise all night and the bed was so uncomfy. Pillows felt like they had been filled with cotton balls you would get from a pharmacy rather than proper pillows! I strongly recommend hotels.com review their rating of these properties as it is nowhere the standard advertised. "

Felicity cottage is a grade ll listed, slate fronted, cob built terraced cottage. It has recently been renovated to provide modern comforts but retaining character. The cottage is in a most convenient position, located at the end of a quite no through rd off the high street, there is little need to move your car with everything on your doorstep, Summerleaze beach, the lovely sea pool, the breakwater and whale rock, Bude canal, shops and restaurants, golf, fishing, coast path, tennis, riding, rowing boat hire, and surf hire shops. There are also plenty of attractions a short drive away, north to the stunning beaches of Sandymouth (which can be walked to along the beach from Bude if timed well! ) and Duck pool, the isolated feeling Hartland peninsula and on to Clovelly. Treglindon is a much loved family cottage set in the hamlet of Rosecare surrounded by open countryside lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Only three miles from Crackington Haven. Walking the South West coastal path is viable as the local coastal bus service runs through Wainhouse Corner which is a half-mile walk from the cottage.
The cottage was extended and enjoys spacious rooms which are all presented to maximise views of the surrounding garden, open countryside and the sea view down the valley. Downstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a shower room and a large double aspect lounge with three sofas, wood burning stove and sliding patio doors. The well-equipped triple aspect kitchen also has sliding patio doors. Upstairs the master bedroom has two balcony Velux windows giving panoramic views (an ideal place to watch the sun set into the sea) and a large well equipped bathroom with bath and shower. The whole cottage has been decorated to reflect the countryside and coastal environment using prints by local artists and Vanessa Arbutnott fabrics. The cottage has been recently renovated and restored to a very high standard. There are two double bedrooms and a single room which easily accommodate 5 people. The beds can be configured to sleep a couple and three children or two couples and a single. A cot can also be provided. The place is excellently equipped including TV, Wi-Fi, Sound System, Log Burner and Heating System which includes underfloor heating downstairs. The kitchen has been refitted with the highest quality appliances including, oven, induction hob, microwave, nespresso machine, toaster and kettle, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Bi-fold doors open out onto a slate terrace overlooking the garden. There is also an outdoor kitchen with BBQ, slate worktops and sink.

The garden is formed from one of the original strip fields. The path was originally used by the farmer taking his cows from the fields to the square on the way to market.

Kilkhampton is a conservation village with an interesting history and often features in the best kept village awards, there has been a village here for hundreds of years and the original strip field system can be seen along with tiny cottages hidden up narrow alleys.

The Lodge itself is beautifully decorated to a very high, modern standard with all the mod cons and some nice little touches. We were lucky enough to have some sunny weather and could enjoy sitting on the veranda watching the kids play. It was pretty well situated - not to far from Bude for a day trip and a couple of other lovely beaches if you fancied a change of scenery. Couple of dog friendly pubs nearby and a fish and chip shop if your fed up with cooking. Elliott the owner made our stay all the more enjoyable, he was really knowledgable on the local area, and nothing was too much trouble for him - he had endless patience with the kids and made a nice change for my daughter to be calling Elliott all the time instead of mum lol !!! We would certainly visit again, as we had such a relaxing stay, highly recommended !"

Byre is a lovely stone cottage set in a courtyard at Ivyleaf Barton on the outskirts of Bude. The property is well presented with an open plan living area and kitchen with an area to sit outside at the front of the cottage. There is a double sized bedroom with a newly fitted ensuite bathroom.

Honeysuckle, a single-storey cottage for two (a cot or camp bed can be provided for a baby or child), offers spacious open-plan living with character, a lovely comfortable sofa and a welcoming wood-burner for those chillier times. Honeysuckle provides the ideal bolthole for any time of the year where you will be able to appreciate pubs, cycling walks, surfing and the pool!

There is shared access to a large indoor heated swimming pool (heated to 32 degrees), a games room, softplay area, outdoor play and picnic area. As a small-scale working farm guests can meet the friendly farm animals: sheep, pigs, chickens and horses; regular talks are arranged for groups that want to learn about the daily farm routine. The estate also boasts a 15 acre ancient woodland, which is alive with wild flowers, birds and a meandering stream, stunning at anytime of the year. Surrounded by unspoiled open countryside, coastal paths and beautiful walks and cycle rides, Honeysuckle Cottage at Woodlands Manor Farm is the perfect place from which to go and explore the amazing Cornish landscape. The land borders the Coombe Valley (AONB) where the river enters the sea at our nearest National Trust beach Duckpool, which is 1.5 miles away. Nearby surfing at the local beaches is some of the best in the country and the owners will be happy to arrange surfing lessons on request. There is plenty of off-road parking space and open space for all to enjoy.

It has recently been sympathetically restored and is a great get-away for a couple, a group of friends or a family wanting to escape for a long weekend / week and enjoy the countryside and seaside, in delightful surroundings.

You can just relax and chill by the fire, listening to the Church bells sound the hour.

The cottage is everything a country cottage should be, with three lovely bedrooms rooms and new bathroom upstairs.

There is lots of charm and history both inside as well as in the immediate area outside, and the cottage is mentioned in the battlefield walk and the town trail. After a long day of reading and relaxing you can just walk 30 seconds down the hill and meet the Giant in the Tree Inn over a pint!

The nearest beach is just 5 minutes drive away, with lots of rock pools for children to play in, as well as sand that is ideal for sandcastles! The area has some of the best surfing in the country with 33 surfing breaks within 20 mins drive (North and South), from easy sand beaches to world class reefs. More surfing spots compared to anywhere else in the country, and able to handle all wind directions that Neptune can throw at you.

There is also lots of good river fly fishing just a short drive away, several coarse fishing lakes nearby, riding, loads of coastal climbing routes within easy reach, great walking along the SW Coast path, as well as great cycling routes.

On top of all this there is also indoor bowling and an indoor swimming pool just 2 minutes away. Then a quick hop, skip and jump away in Bude you have a fun sea pool on the beach, tennis, bowls, crazy golf and loads of other activities.

Padstow, Boscastle, Tintagel and Bodmin moor are within easy reach and the area also offers many activities such as surfing, horse riding, rambling and golf. Sandymouth beach is only 3 miles away from 6 Penhalt cottage.

Linhay is a lovely stone cottage set in a courtyard of eight properties at Ivyleaf Barton on the outskirts of Bude. Ivyleaf is a quiet area surrounded by countryside.

The property is well presented with an open plan living area and well equipped kitchen and a double sized bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Outside there is a table and chairs for 2 and a shared garden area. In addition there is a tennis court which is shared by the properties and available to use.

The space
Linhay is a character cottage, with beamed ceilings and deep window cills. It is a lovely open plan living space with a separate bedroom and ensuite.

All bedding and towels provided, but please bring own beach towels.

Guest access
The cottage will be for your own use, I live in Bude so available to help with any queries or suggestions of places to go.

The tennis court is shared with the other houses on site and there are a few rackets and balls which you are welcome to borrow.
