Guest Reviews:

- "Has everything you need. Perfect!" - "Stunning. Loved every second of my stay. " - "We stayed overnight in the Byre cottage as an ailing friends health took a turn for the worse after we had planned to go to the Bath Christmas market as part of his 'bucket list'. The cottage was such a conveniently located, welcome respite after a long busy day & the owners were so accommodating of our late arrival and ensured the heating was on for us. Our stay was so comfortable; the beds and linen were to a high standard as was the cleanliness & orderliness of the house. Having breakfast in the conservatory whilst the snow fell outside was magical & to say the wood burner was a hit would be an understatement. Again, incredibly helpful owners providing all components & advice on starting the fire & what a pleasure it was to relax in front of it. The provisions left for our breakfast were more than expected & very much appreciated. the choice of tea, coffee was great & having fresh milk provided was fantastic. It truly was a home away from home stay for us with all the details taken care of. We were very kindly extended a late check out due to our circumstances (& no one checking in after us) allowing for a very relaxed day & a reluctant departure. Due to time constraints we were unable to try the hot tub; however on having a look inside the area it appears quite modern & in very good condition.Really wish we could've stayed longer as it was just so peaceful & everything had been thought of to give us a truly memorable stay. Will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you. "

Steve met us on site and gave us a comprehensive introduction to the 0property. It totally exudes a homely feel that is evident the moment you step across the doormat. Beautifully presented and equipped with everything that you may need for a weeks stay. After each day of exploring, we came " home" to our very own place. Wonderful. Guest Reviews:

- "This is a lovely property at the heart of a busy village - beautifully decorated and very homely. We hosted Christmas for our family and it made a perfect home from home. I hadn't realised that this was the owner's own home, therefore the lack of available storage caught us out a bit. If we were staying for a couple of nights, outside of Christmas, the lack of storage wouldn't have been a problem, but, 5-6 clothes hangers between five adults, over 5 days at Christmas just wasn't enough. The same was true for the kitchen. Most of the freezer and cupboards contain the owner's food, so we were a bit stuck as to where to store all of our own food. That aside, we really appreciated the owner allowing us to bring our three small dogs - there's a great park just up the road to walk them. We loved the cosy warmth of the place, the comfortable bed in the main bedroom, amazing bath, the beautiful decor and the flow of the house. I'd happily live there, it felt so instantly comfortable, and we loved the convenience of amenities nearby. And yes, there is a pub next door. For the three days of Christmas it was incredibly raucous - they clearly had a licence extension until midnight. The music did boom through the walls and there were a lot of people outside - loud but friendly. However, once Christmas was over you wouldn't even have known there was a pub there it was so quiet. There are loads of takeaways and restaurants nearby. The Indian - Shapla - I can highly recommend. "

⭐️ Lovely house In Mendips with stunning lake view
Cottage
Somerset

An immaculate, recently refurbished property that sleeps 6, set in one of the most enviable positions looking over Blagdon Lake. Located in the heart of the popular Mendip village of Blagdon, it is the perfect location for country walks, sightseeing in the nearby cities of Bristol, Bath and Wells.

We also own the property next door which sleeps 7 so ideal for combining the two houses for larger groups or wedding guests.

Bristol Airport is approx 10 minutes by car.

The space
This lovely little town house in the country has been lovingly restored by our family. It offers 3 bedrooms - 2 doubles and a single (with a single bed and pull out truckle bed that can be connected to create a kingsize bed.) The kitchen is open plan, with a serving island and breakfast stools. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large American style fridge freezer, Dolce Gusto coffee machine and supply of pods, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. A kitchen table can be extended to accommodate six chairs. Outside is a Mediterranean style patio seating area to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Our house is shared by our family at other times of the year so we have decided that the cooking facilities only be used for vegetarian cooking.

The living room has a large flat screen TV with over 100 channels, a Blueray DVD and selection of DVDs. The fire is remotely controlled. The bedrooms all have dressers, bedside tables, and lights. A wardrobe is shared by the two main bedrooms. There is a hair dryer, ironing board and iron.

Parking is available directly outside the property and in a parking area at the back of the property. In the house we will provide you with a pack including a range of local walking maps, and leaflets for local outings. The famous Organic Farm Yeo Valley is a short walk up the hill, where you can have delicious breakfast or lunch. For lunch or dinners we recommend booking quite some time ahead! The Seymour Arms next to the property offers excellent food and cocktails.

Fabulous pubs, shops, and the award winning YeoValley restaurant and Organic gardens are just a few minutes walk away. There are playing fields opposite, a children's play park and easy access to the church. Cross the road and follow the footpath to the church. Local wine tasting at the nearby Aldwick Estate Vineyard can be arranged. Coombe Lodge is a gentle 5 minute walk.

In order that you may have an enjoyable stay please note that the rear patio area, whilst easily accessible from the house might not be suitable for younger children and elderly guests without supervision due to its tiered design and steps.

If you require a late check out please do ask and if we do not have a following booking we will try and accommodate you!

Congrove Barns Bath
Cottage
Darwen

Congrove Barns Bath are a pair of newly renovated twin barns crafted to provide a romantic bolthole for two or a cosy but spacious family or friends retreat.

The space
The twin barns are divided by function, with a living barn housing the open plan sitting dining room and fully equipped kitchen and the games / TV room with table football; off of which is a shower room. The games Room also has a Conran sofa-bed that can be converted into either a single or double bed. The second barn is the sleeping barn, with two en-suite bedrooms, one a king with en-suite bathroom with twin basins the other a zip and link king with en-suite shower room. The gardens are gated and fenced and aside from the in-ground hot tub the barns come equipped with Croquet and Badminton as well as indoor board games for cosy evenings around the wood burning stove.

The Congrove Barns are in a remarkable location, south facing and sitting on the side of a secluded and private valley that has its own private Arboretum; yet only a few miles from the historic centre of Bath; whose lights shimmer in the distance at night. Bath Race Course is even closer and Bristol is less than 10 miles away. So they are both a unique retreat and an ideal base to either explore the Cotswolds or the historic and famed sights of southern England including Avebury, Glastonbury and Stonehenge. And even the Welsh borders are not that far away.

Dogs are accepted but upon request and there is a per dog per week charge of £50. If the sofa-bed in the games room in the living barn - that has its own en-suite shower room - is required there is a £100 per week supplement.
