The carpets were stained there is mould around the shower screen and the taps, the worktop surfaces showed remnants of previous occupants. The toaster still had breadcrumbs in it. You cannot sit on the sofa as the cushions sag in the middle. The towel rail was on the floor. The shelves in the bathrooms and toilet roll holders are so badly fitted you cannot use them. The cushions on the sofa were stinking and stained. My husband is a gas safe engineer and highlighted an issue with the gas hob, that probably still has not been rectified. They advertise free underground parking, however, they forget to add it is only for small cars so we had to pay for a weeks parking. The table and chairs on the balcony are rusty. Due to the state of the property, we tried to spend as little time as we could in there. I have seen the good reviews and can only assume the property was in little use at that time. Penthouse in name only."

Cosy Comfort & Well-Appointed Spaces
Step into this delightful cottage and feel instantly at home. The spacious kitchen, with windows overlooking the livery yard and countryside, is fully equipped with an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and microwave, making it perfect for preparing meals after a day of adventure.

Relax in the inviting lounge, complete with comfortable sofas, a smart TV, and a DVD player for cozy evenings in. The cottage features a downstairs bathroom with a bath/shower combo and on-demand hot water to ensure comfort.

Upstairs, you’ll find two charming bedrooms with brand-new, plush beds—one double and one twin—designed for restful nights in a serene setting.

Outside the property has a pet and child friendly private enclosed yard with garden furniture overlooking the valley and paddocks. The terrace is south facing and enjoys glorious sunshine from morning to evening, perfect for breakfast in the sunshine with the horses whinnying in the background through to an evening barbeque with the swallows darting overhead.

This practical family and pet welcoming house is entirely yours, there is an enclosed private patio area with your own BBQ and garden furniture and is suitable for dogs.

The yard is for equine customers and their horses, for your safety please do not explore alone, however we would be happy to show you round. There are public footpaths very close by that you are able to access across the yard or over the road and through the village - follow the signs or just ask the team on site to show you the way.

Guests also have access to a laundry room with laundry appliances to the rear of the cottage.

Other things to note
There is one parking space outside the property but there additional parking on site that can be made available for extra cars and much larger vehicles, trailers etc on request.

To have a great Holiday they say you only need 3 things sun, sea and sand but to find your perfect holiday base its all about Location Location Location and Dormouse cottage is spot on. Just 70 yards to the left you will find the famous blue flag central beach and esplanade with its busy shopping area and fantastic pubs and restaurants for all tastes. To the right of the cottage is the picturesque swanary nature reserve which drifts into Weymouth's extensive marina and Harbour.

The space
The cottage itself has been brought back to life with a lovely clean airy feel but still retains many of the original character features and charm with the convenience of its central position. The cottage has off road parking to the front of the cottage for one car.
Weymouth has an all-round appeal to Couples and families with numerous events taking place most weeks. It also makes the ideal base for visits to the numerous attraction both in the resort and the surrounding Jurassic coast; it really has something for everyone.
The cottage is over 3 floors and can sleep up to 5 people; double in master bedroom, double and single in second bedroom. This 18th century cottage is quite small so please understand this when booking and due to the narrow stairs it can be unsuitable for immobile persons.

The space
Welcome to Budmouth, a gem of a holiday cottage, set in the rolling Dorset countryside, part of the UNESCO world heritage site - Jurassic coast.

This property has a fantastic master bedroom with ensuite shower room, lots of wardrobe space storage, a smart TV, fan and hairdryer with a velux window which looks out onto the countryside and a mezzanine view over the living area so you can enjoy the stunning wildlife meadow and fields beyond.

The second bedroom is downstairs and has flexible sleeping arrangements so it can be set up with twin or double beds to suit your group best. There is a spacious wardrobe with smart TV and hairdryer too. The adjacent white family bathroom with a shower over a sparkling clean bath has heated towel rail and lots of on demand powerful hot water.

Both bedrooms have a smart TV, hairdryer, plenty of hanging and drawer space.

The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher and washer/dryer as well as a kettle, toaster, cafetiere with plenty of cutlery and crockery for adults and children alike.

The open plan living space has more fabulous meadow views out of a floor to ceiling lounge window where you are likely to spot deer, rabbits and the woodpecker amongst other wildlife. Light and comfortable, sunny southwest facing lounge and patio with outdoor furniture, retractable laundry line and coal BBQ to enjoy the beautiful afternoon sunshine. Budmouth Barn cottage is entirely yours for your stay, and as purpose built holiday cottages there are no owner belongings in the cottage, cupboards etc are with empty cupboards for you to use. Free excellent, high speed Wifi service.

Check in time is from 4pm, however early check in may be available on request for a small additional fee.
