The property has been tastefully designed to delicately incorporate traditional features such as a thatched roof and wooden ceiling beams into the build, whilst retaining a contemporary feel. Situated in the heart of the village, the property is within a short walk of the village stores and a couple of pubs including a 16th-century thatched tavern reputed to be one of the oldest public house in Dorset.

Historically, the cove was notorious as a popular landing point for smugglers looking to land their illicit booty. Its sheltered position makes the cove particularly popular with beachgoers looking to sunbathe and swim.

- "Lovely property and a beautiful area. Property was well equipped and all very clean. A couple of points though as feed back. We found it difficult to operate the TV. And had an issue with the bathroom locks that could not be opening from the outside. We had a 3year old in our party who locked himself in until we made him understand that he needed to push the bolt aside. Just a small point but it was a bit of a worry at the time. We all had a lovely time though and will hopefully come back some time in the future."

- "We enjoyed our stay at Arne Barn and were delighted with the proximityto the RSPB Arne site just a few hundred meters walk away. The property is well furnished and comfortable but there were a few 'oddities': (a) the bathrooms don't have towel rails, just a piece of branch fixed to the walls with only enough hanging for one towel, (b) the microwave was set at eye level which we considered was very dangerous when taking out hot food or drinks, (c) with the exception of the kitchen table outside the kitchen, the work serfaces, bathroom sinks and dining table were all higher than is normal (d) the family bathroom didn't have a shower attachment to the bath, so no shower option in this bathroom. Having said all that, these are fairly minor matters and we all enjoyed the property and the surrounding countryside. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo"

- "Good housekeeping and Diane very helpful 👍" - "We had a fab time, it was so relaxing. Such an amazing location. We can’t wait to stay again. We had one small issue that the heating wasn’t working but the log burner and electric fires ensured we stayed warm. I can’t praise this place enough, we loved it." - "The cottage was well equipped. The pub next door was very handy, we ate there twice and enjoyed both meals. If you like walking there are plenty of walks from the cottage. If you are using your Satnav be aware that the postcode given will take you to Corfe Castle not Kingston, however when you reach Kingston it is very easy to find your cottage. It really is a must to visit Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, which are located in the centre of this region. There are many little eateries and beachside shacks in Lulworth Cove that serve fresh local seafood, ice cream, and other delectables. There are also a number of restaurants and bars to select from. - "The owner made contact with us before we arrived and wished us a happy holiday. The flat is on the first floor of a house made into four flats. The outside of the building could do with a powerwash or coat of paint but don't let that put you off. The flat is absolutely lovely. Spotlessly clean, everything looks new. Lovely bathroom with super shower and heated towel rail. Incredibly thick bath and hand tail provided for each guest, lovely comfortable beds made up wth white bedding. There were biscuits, milk, tea bags, sugar snd coffee in the cupboards. It was also a treat to have a provided parking space. It was warm and cosy and I'd recommend it to anyone, reasonably priced too for peak season. The only downside, which wasnt a problem for us but might be for some, was the sraircase leading up to the flat. I'm nearly 70 and managed it fine. There's a well stocked local shop, a lovely bakers and a good Chinese within walking distance. We had a lovely meal at The Ship Inn, really nice food, thoroughly recommend. Another night we ate at The Bear, meal was the same price but food was horrible, no comparison at all to The Ship. We had a lovely week and would definitely return."

- "A cosy, wonderfully renovated, functional and well equipped cottage in a beautiful and serene location. Our family had a wonderful time. Close to the main attractions of the Purbeck Isle, with plenty of walking trails also leaving from outside the front door. A stunning place to escape." - "This cosy cottage was cute and extremely well managed by the agents who answered every query and sent out the handyman whenever we had an issue and emailed back to tell me that the problem was fixed There were six of us staying which made it cosy as there was really not much space to go to when the kids watched tv. And there were just 6 of each bowl and main plate but no side plates. There was no out door clothes line to dry clothes on but there was a rack to dry clothes indoors As required we stripped the beds and attempted to put the linen and towels in the only bag left for us but it was insufficient Timed lighting to the exterior bedroom would have made us feel safer in the rain At number 24 there was a wonderful couple who were selling delicious honey and who opened up the church daily"

The gardens were a feature, one level after another, the main garden had a large sitting area which we used loads. Moreover, the cottage could not have been better located, by the rolling hills of Durdle door, right at the heard of the scenic Lulworth village, a few minutes to the beach. Everything was perfect."

We fully renovated this cosy, two bedroom cottage to create a warm, welcoming space where the only sounds you’ll hear are the tweeting of birds and crackle of the newly fitted wood burning stove.
The cottage has a king, a twin room and a sofa bed in the lounge so is flexible with accommodating various set ups.
The location is just about as good as it gets. It’s a 10 min walk along the stunning River Frome into Wareham and a stone’s throw from all major tourist attractions on the Purbecks.
The space
Willow Cottage is a traditional character cottage - incredibly peaceful, cosy and welcoming. The cottage is located at the centre of every tourist attraction you can think of visiting on the Purbecks and Jurassic Coast. Corfe Castle, Arne, the Blue Pool, Monkey World and The Tank Museum are all less than a 10 minute drive and Swanage, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door etc. are all around 15 mins. Poole and Sandbanks are little further at around 25 mins but still very accessible.
The walks around the cottage are stunning too. We’re surrounded by Stoborough nature reserves, heathland and the beautiful river Frome. RSPB Arne is less than a 10 min drive - which has been the location for BBC’s Springwatch for the last few years. The walk through the forest to the beach at Arne has to be one of the most memorable outings - don’t forget your picnic!
Because we renovated the house for our personal use, we didn’t cut any corners and ensured that the furnishings, beds, mattresses and bedding were all the best they could possibly be (down duvets, high thread count covers etc.) We wanted it to feel like a luxurious retreat away from the hustle and bustle of life and a real home from home.
The garden opens out onto fields and offers guests somewhere peaceful and private to recharge. There is a patio area designated for summer bbqs and one large table for hosting everyone. It has been known for local deer to wander into the garden from the field beyond on occasion!
The snug has a newly fitted wood burning stove and is perfect for cosying up in the evening with a film. The kitchen’s a really light space for preparing meals and has every utensil you could imagine. There’s a bistro table in there for breakfasting, but also a 6-seater dining table in the conservatory. I love it in there as it looks out onto the fields where you see all sorts of wildlife.
A travel cot, stair gate and high chair are available on request. Please let me know at time of booking.
