- "The room was small and the "kitchenette" was two electric stove top burners with a recirculating hood that was about 10 inches above the burners, but it worked for cooking mac and cheese and pancakes! The room was clean and the indoor pool, jaccuzi, and mega lodge -even with the outdated and some broken arcade machines- was super fun for the family. I would stay here again in a heartbeat to be 5 minutes from Sugar Mountain and Hawks Nest tubing. "

Banister rail on upstairs main entrance is about to fall off & not secure (definitely a safety hazard). Clearly not the property we were promised. Home description shows 2 queen beds that are actually full size beds. We booked this home for 8 people for 2 nights. We were only given 1 washcloth, hand towel, and towel per person for the entire stay. They only had 1 trash bag in the entire house & then you have to haul off your trash when you leave. Upon check-in, property manager stated they only hand out keys & clean homes (obviously not being done but their going to charge you $85 for). Contacted Hotels.com for resolution. Definitely RENTER BEWARE when booking this property! I booked this home because it had an exceptional 10 review. Once we saw the condition of the home, my sister saw there was another bad review that was being hidden. I have photos."

We recently became the stewards of this mountain haven and still welcome guests to the original Farmhouse cabin (VRBO #376235, six years of five-star reviews). The Treehouse perches on its own ridge, giving you an entirely different perspective on the same magical property.

The cabin is a 24-by-24-foot post-and-beam studio built with pine milled on site and treasures reclaimed from antique barns and salvage shops. Three stained-glass panels trace the colors of a Blue Ridge sunset, while a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows pulls the forest right inside. Original art and handmade touches abound: an apple-tree-stump vanity, a vintage claw-foot tub perfectly placed beside a picture window for twilight soaks, and a wood stove that glows on cool mountain nights. My husband and I enjoyed our time there and would definitely go back! The jar of strawberry jam as a welcome gift was an added touch! This is a dream location on a dead end street to the Greenway trails. The house itself is bordered by a creek. Across the creek is a park to play frisbee or bocce ball etc. and has access to trails through the woods. You will have a private bedroom with queen bed. The full bathroom may be shared because I have one other bedroom on Arbnb. If it is not rented, it will be a private bathroom. I have a female very friendly dog Lilah.

The space
Enjoy the private lower level apartment that has separate walkway and private entrance to a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment with wash/dryer, space for kitchen prep and cooking (note there is a hot plate and toaster oven, not a built in range/oven as part of this set up and no dishwasher).

The apartment is below our private (not for rent) cabin and you have access to the yard/wooded area around the cabin and a dedicated fire pit area with Adirondack chairs that is just for the lower level apartment.

There is oarking for 1 car at the top of the walkway (stairs for access) and if needed a further parking area.

The one bedroom has a queen and a small work table for remote work if needed. The apartment is 600 sq feet and most comfortable for 2 people but with couches that pull out to twin beds it also can fit 4 people or a small family.

We allow one dog as pet assuming it is well trained and leashed. This is a nice quiet area with mostly all locals and so no loud parties or events or major disruptions to the neighbors are permitted.

The cabin is just a 5 minutes walk from Speckled Trout, Camp Coffee and all the wonderful shops and activities Blowing Rock has to offer. You can also walk to via the sidewalks now in place to Bass Lake from here.

This home, due to town restrictions is only available for monthly or longer rentals. Access to the cabin living spaces above the apartment is not included in the rental and not permitted.

Carter’s Hill Cottage sits on two acres and is only three miles from the Twickenham House. Enjoy the sun coming over the mountain while you sip on a hot coffee while sitting on our fully covered front porch. The cottage is only minutes from the towns of Jefferson and West Jefferson with a view of Mt. Jefferson (4665 ft) in front of the cottage and Phoenix Mtn to the rear of the cottage. Although you are so close to all the fun, you are secluded with no neighbors in view.

The space
The property borders Ashe County Park and a short walk will give you access to the disc golf course, trout pond, skate park, baseball fields, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, playground, trails and more.
