After our adventures, coming back to the cozy setting of our suite was the perfect way to unwind. The “virtual” check-in was effortless and the staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The staff are on site and did come to see us when we had a problem with our key. They even gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and activities, which added to our memorable experience. A lovely spot for a quiet “couple’s retreat” or a relaxing "girls' getaway". The main floor of this bright, comfortable house is the perfect base for your stay in "The County". It's on a quiet one-way street a block from Picton's downtown. (The well-appointed kitchen, central location and 7-day discount make it great for weekly stays.)

The apartment is ideal for 1 or 2 adults and spacious enough for another couple if you use the comfortable and private sofa bed. A nice space for a small dinner party if not for a more boisterous gathering. You can walk to the centre of town in five minutes and browse the shops, restaurants, art galleries, the Regent Theater and more. You’ll find the well designed, well-equipped kitchen is a pleasure to cook in. After dinner, you can stream free movies and shows on Prime, Netflix or Roku (sorry - no satellite or cable). If you want to read, talk, play a game or just relax, the sitting room is the perfect place. The bathroom is spacious and pretty with good water pressure, a rain shower/deep tub and clean, line-dried towels. The bedroom is cozy with a very comfortable queen-sized bed and clean, cotton percale sheets (also line-dried). The sofa bed in the TV room is private and also comfortable if you have guests or friends staying. You'll be happy you booked with us and you'll be back!

We are a retired couple and also reside at the mill. There is one other rental suite on the 3rd floor as well.

WAIVER:

OVERVIEW:
An early 1800's stone mill sits on an island in the Salmon River between two one lane bridges. A waterfall on either side, weeping willow trees swaying in the breeze, the river alive with wildlife, a variety of birds and bountiful gardens completes the picture.
You are viewing the Waterfall Retreat, an eclectic 525 square foot studio suite on the river, lower level of the mill which has a private entrance.
Our mill is located in the very picturesque and historic hamlet of Lonsdale which has been the subject of many artists and photographers.

SELF CATERING:
This is a self catering rental as we do not provide meals. The full kitchen is equipped with pots/pans, cooking tools, cutlery, etc, everything you'll need to prepare your own meals indoors or outside. We do provide you with coffee, teas, coffee cream and all the basic condiments and spices for your convenience. We encourage you to bring some food with you to start out as there are no grocery stores in the immediate area.

BUYING GROCERIES:
There is a Metro, No Frills and a Walmart grocery store in Napanee, a 15 minute drive east. Many grocery stores are located in Belleville, 20 minutes west. There are also grocery stores in Picton, 30 minutes south.

DESCRIPTION OF SUITE:
The space is well appointed with authentic rustic charm and many custom features, original mill artifacts and eclectic and antique touches. The full kitchen features a 1930's porcelain sink brought from the mill owner's house, an antique dish cupboard, antique oak counter originally from the Kingston Whig Standard Newspaper office and custom cut granite. The bathroom boasts a vessel sink and a custom tile and limestone shower with glass sliding door and oil rubbed bronze fixtures. There are two comfy reclining chairs for watching t.v. in the sitting area and large limestone window sills in the three windows which look right out onto the river and waterfalls. The bedroom area is a cozy space with a custom made farmhouse queen size bed, a memory foam mattress, fine linens, an exposed original limestone wall and an electric fireplace for extra coziness. The 42 inch Fire television with Netflix and Prime is on a swivel and can be viewed from either the bedroom or the living area. Original hand-hewn beamed ceilings and original mill doors as well as other mill artifacts adorn the space. A private patio with a Weber barbeque, chimnea and a dining area complete with cushioned, swivel chairs is situated right outside your door at the water’s edge.

AMENITIES:
The Waterfall suite is situated right at the river's edge with a patio by the waterfalls for dining and relaxing. Kayaks, a canoe, motorized peddle boat, paddleboard, outdoor shower and touring bicycles are all available free of charge to our guests from mid May until Thanksgiving and a riverside hot tub under the stars is available year round for which you have private times on all the odd numbered hours. A Provincial Parks Pass is also complimentary. With waterfront on three sides, you'll likely want to spend some time on the river. It is usually high and quite fast until May and then quietens for relaxing paddles or peddles throughout the summer months and early fall. Only seasoned paddlers should use the river in May and we will only offer use of the boats at this time of year at our discretion. Swimming depends on the river levels which depends on the amount of rainfall. We reserve the right to limit or prohibit boat, bicycle or hot tub use if we deem necessary for any reason.
All our amenities are fully complimentary. One bucket of wood is provided each day for use in the chimnea or firepit by the dock. Additional wood may be purchased at five dollars per bucket. You can also pick some fresh organic veggies ( in season) from our vegetable garden to complement your meals.

Enjoying nature is the main occupation here. It is the river that gives this place it's magical vibe and brings the wildlife in abundance for our pleasure. Bring your camera! Great Blue Herons, Song Birds, Eagles, Osprey, Otters, Beavers, Muskrats, Geese, Ducks, Turtles and yes even snakes are all happy to call the island and the surrounding river home. (Do not interfere with the wildlife and they will not interfere with you.) A motorized peddle boat ride at sunrise or sunset is absolutely magical! The grounds are full of flowers and birds chirping and the sound of the waterfalls makes this an ideal spot to just kick back and enjoy.

LEAVE THE CITY BEHIND! Relax and Rejuvenate, surrounded by nature in your 500 sq ft, English country inspired private suite with a Juliette balcony. Fall asleep to the sound of the river outside your window. Rest and reconnect in the spacious and beautifully decorated 2nd floor suite in our converted grist mill.

The Juliette Suite is accessed through the original mill doors at our shared front entrance. You can come and go as you please with the access code. The original mill stairs, (which are a bit steeper than normal stairs), lead you to your private second floor suite. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed.
We, (Jerry and Suzie) call the mill our home. This is why the mill is such a special place as we work tirelessly to make it the memorable getaway it has become. The entire mill is 4400 square feet on 4 floors and provides each of our two sets of guests with their own private suite each approx 500 sq feet on separate floors and our living space on the ground and top floor.

OUR " ISLAND MILL GETAWAY" is the perfect spot to connect with nature and also so close to everything the area has to offer; Prince Edward County wine region and Kingston and The 1000 Islands, great restaurants, antiquing, shopping, live performances and many tourist attractions.
The Island Mill Getaway is a converted grist mill and is also our home. We're on an island in the Salmon River between 2 waterfalls accessible by one lane bridges on and off the island. We're just 2 hours east of Toronto and conveniently located between the Prince Edward County Sandbanks and Wineries and Kingston and The Thousand Islands, conveniently located to all our area has to offer as well as our property offering an all season hot tub with private hours on any of the even hours. Boating, swimming and cycling all included in your stay. Provincial Park Pass is complimentary during your stay from May to October.

OUR JULIETTE SUITE OFFERS YOU:
A beautiful, second story, self-contained suite with English/French inspired vintage decor. Boats and bicycles, abundant wildlife and gardens and all just 6 minutes from the 401 hwy and 12 minutes from Prince Edward County.

ROOM AMENITIES:
You will enjoy a lovely, large, comfortable suite with a self-contained kitchenette which includes a fridge, food storage and prep areas, microwave, toaster/convection oven, induction hot plate, air fryer, french press coffee maker, tea, coffee, all pots and pans, utensils, etc for light cooking. The suite has a French bedroom set with a queen size bed and a Tempurpedic memory foam mattress with top quality bedding, just perfect for falling asleep to the sound of the waterfalls outside your window. There is a flat screen Roku TV on a swivel with Netflix and Prime.

SPRING AND SUMMER AT THE MILL:
You have a large, private patio under a wooden pergola with retractable awning, cushioned, swivel chairs and privacy curtains, by the waterfalls with a Weber bbq, plumbed drinking water, prep area and firepit, kayaks, a canoe, peddle boat, paddle board and touring bicycles during the warmer months and a riverside hot tub under the stars plus an outdoor hot and cold shower all at no extra charge. With waterfront on three sides, you'll likely want to spend some time on the river. Boats and bicycles are provided from May long weekend until end of October. Spend time on the river in our many types of watercraft or tour the countryside with our Haro touring bicycles. You can also enjoy a refreshing swim in the waterfalls.
We live in the very picturesque historic hamlet of Lonsdale which has been the subject of many artists and photographers. The river is part of an historic canoe route and many enthusiasts brave the rapids in May. The river quietens come June for relaxing paddles. It is the river that gives this place it's magical vibe and brings the wildlife in abundance for our pleasure. Great Blue Herons, Song Birds, Eagles, Otters, Beavers, Muskrats, Geese, Ducks, Swans, Turtles, song birds and many others are all happy to call Lonsdale home or stop by to say hi. You never know who is going to drop by next. The grounds are full of flowers and birds and the sound of the waterfalls makes this an ideal spot to just kick back and enjoy.

FOOD:
We encourage you to bring your own food and prepare light meals in your private kitchenette, as the closest restaurants are a 15 minute drive away and there are no stores in the immediate area. There are three grocery stores in Napanee , a 15 minute drive east or Belleville, a 20 minute drive west or in Picton, 30 minutes south. You may also use the outdoor barbeque. There are many nice restaurants and eateries within Napanee, Prince Edward and Belleville/Kingston areas. Regular and specialty teas, french press coffee, cream, sugar and honey are always available in your room. We also provide the little things for cooking that are difficult to transport such as cooking oil and spices. You are welcome to pick fresh herbs and veggies from our organic vegetable gardens in the summer.

We are located 2 hours east of Toronto just 6 minutes from the 401. Picton is 30 minutes to the south, Kingston is 35 minutes east and Belleville is 20 minutes west. Kingston and The Thousand Islands, Prince Edward County Wineries and it's many Fine Restaurants and Sandbanks Provincial Park are all in a day's outing.

The newly renovated Bellflower Gallery was designed with accommodation in mind by Scott McGillivray. We have sleeping to comfortably accommodate a family of 4. It has a full kitchen, full bathroom with heated floors and rain shower head. Welcome to the "Blue Door" vacation home in the heart of Wellington P.E.C. Our fully licensed short term rental home is close to everything you need for the perfect County getaway! Just a 5 min. walk to the Drake and other downtown Wellington attractions, close to wineries and 20 + minutes to the Sandbanks. Ideal for 2 couples or a small family. The home includes a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and 1 1/2 baths. Enjoy the beautiful views and a glass of wine from the back deck looking on to our neighbor's expansive back yards.

We accept longer stays than three weeks, but that is to be arranged ahead of time, and more suitably at certain times of year. Also we are only about 3.5km from Loyalist college, so we can accept a student for a much longer stay for a discounted rate, with the same inclusions.
We are 2.5km from Potters Creek conservation, 3.5km from the college, a 40min drive to Sandbanks Provincial Park, 10min drive to downtown Belleville, and 10min drive to Trenton downtown, also we are just off of Old Highway 2, and a 5min drive to highway 401 E and W.

We are a country house, surrounded by trees. If you are looking for peace and quiet we have plenty of that. The apartment is situated at the back of the house . We are located in the quaint village of Wallbridge, minutes away from Belleville. Our home is centrally located, lake Ontario, and several provincial parks are within an hour drive. Prince Edward County and Kingston are 45 minutes away. The suite has a private entrance with an electronic key pad.

The space
The space is large over 500 sq feet. We supply a fully functioning kitchen, with a starter kit of coffee, tea, sugar, and salt and pepper.There are leaflets and maps available to help you find your way around. We have lived here most of our lives, so we can help you as well. If you plan on bringing a pet, please let me know, so I can put the pet friendly covers on the furniture. The space can only accommodate 1 small pet.We have a washer and dryer available as well as supplying all linens for your comfort. There will be paper towel and toilet paper when you arrive, but long term guest please purchase these items once our supply runs out.

You have access to the entire guest suite , and the outside space at the back of the house. This is not a shared accommodation, it is totally separate from our portion of the home.

Winter time please keep in mind that our driveway may not always be clear of snow and ice. We do our best to keep it clear, however although we have a truck and plow, my husband works and may not always be on hand to immediately address changing conditions. We advise checking the weather in advance of your arrival. We also strongly recommend snow tires. Please send me an inquiry if you have any special requests. I can accommodate on a case by case basis. We have upgraded our internet to Rogers. It is not Hi speed but we get 25 upload and 5 down load now. It is unlimited though. We also have a roku device and provide Netflix.I do not accept third party reservations. Everyone that books must have their own verified account. if you wish to visit one of our provincial parks, please note you are advised to book a reservation. The parks are very popular, and you may not gain entrance, as they are frequently full. We are not a beach destination, so we do not supply beach towels, blankets or umbrellas. please bring your own. We cannot accommodate any type of EV plug in vehicle, Hybrid or any other type. Please make sure you know where you can charge your vehicle prior to booking. Also no hair dyeing.

Welcome to this quiet off-grid rustic cabin in the woods perfect for a solitary retreat to commune with Nature or for a romantic get-away for two.

The space
The cabin is off-grid with limited cell phone reception but wifi and an outlet for charging phones are available near the host's residence. The kitchen has a woodstove for heating and cooking in the cooler months and a single-burner butane stove for use in the summer. Cutlery, dishes and hand towels are provided and the kitchen now has a small sink for indoor washing up. Campfires are possible when fire hazard ratings permit. BYO cooler, sleeping bag, candles and drinking water. Rainwater collected in a barrel from the cabin roof provides lots of water for washing and for longer stays drinking water can be replenished from your host's kitchen. The outhouse in located behind the cabin and easily accessible. The sleeping loft is accessed by a custom-built stairway with hand rails. Two foam mattresses can be oriented depending on the view desired. Windows in the east, south and west allow excellent views of the movements of sun, moon and stars, especially in the winter months. In summer the view is of the leafy canopy, bird and cricket calls delight the ears and fireflies bring the twinkling stars to earth. There is magic in these woods in all seasons. Hike up lookout hill or through the cedar bush to climb the ridge into old-growth forest of oak, maple, beech and white pine.

Ample parking is available near your host's farm home. The cabin is a short walk away so bring back packs or borrow a wheelbarrow to cart your gear there. Some vehicles may be able to to drive through the narrow forest track to get closer to the cabin when conditions allow.

Other things to note
Summer months are mosquito months so come prepared with repellants and/or net clothing. The cabin's door has a magnetic mosquito screen to keep bugs out. Many of the cabin's windows are screened and open for ample ventilation. The upstairs loft also has a small screened door on the west side that doubles as an emergency fire exit. There is no railing by the stairwell so the space is not suitable for small children but an older responsible child could handle this space.
During the cooler months when burning the woodstove is a necessity, your host would welcome an additional cash donation if the provided firewood is used. Alternately, lots of kindling and firewood can be scavenged in the surrounding woods, especially for burning in an outdoor campfire.

The apartment is located directly on the Bay of Quinte in Belleville, 1 km from the Bay Bridge. You'll be minutes away from the waterfront trail and Zwick's Island Park. You'll also be close to all amenities: restaurants, grocery stores, public transportation, bars and night time entertainment, including the new Shorelines Casino! There are numerous wineries to explore in the county…just over the Bay Bridge.

You'll arrive to an immaculately clean and very spacious studio apartment with a beautiful view of the Bay of Quinte and Prince Edward County. The apartment has a private entrance, completely private from the main house. The space is fully equipped with everything you'll need to make your stay relaxing and memorable. The kitchen includes stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, oven and microwave, plus granite countertops. You'll also be provided with pots/pans, utensils, glassware, mugs, coffee maker with coffee, kettle, tea, etc.

The living space has a queen size bed, a queen size pull-out couch, linens, pillows, unlimited WIFI internet, Bell satellite receiver with 55” HD TV, Blu-ray DVD player, Bluetooth boom box, board games, cards, towels, shampoo/soap and blow dryer. The apartment has a private entrance. Please note that there are 18 stairs to climb to access the apartment which is above the 4-car garage.
