Brixham is a picturesque fishing town set in an outstanding coastline. The town has a number of good restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. Dartmouth, Torquay, Totnes, the River Dart, the South Hams and Dartmoor are all easily accessible.
Rockberry is situated on the Shoalstone side of Brixham, a short walk past the harbour and marina from the centre of town. The Shoalstone sea water swimming pool is approximately 200 meters away. After a full refurbishment Quayside is being offered as a holiday cottage for the first time from the end of May 2021, it is ideally situated within a stones throw to the harbour, Golden Hind and local Restaurant’s.
The property benefits from three bedrooms, master bedroom with sea glimpses, 2 king & 1 twin bedroom all with smart televisions, two en-suites, and a family bathroom, Open plan lounge diner, kitchen and enclosed level rear garden.
Please note the top bedroom has a steeper than normal staircase and slightly narrower than modern standards and could be unsuitable for some young children or the elderly.
Very few houses in the harbour area have their own parking but the fantastic location of the house more than makes up for the parking. If you are just staying local you should not need your car very much.
When you arrive you can quickly pull in and unload just by the house outside Dilly Dally Café or The Coffin House.

This amazing three en-suite bedroom house is situated overlooking the picturesque Brixham harbour.
It has been completely refurbished and finished to a very high standard in 2017. It is built over four floors and has three bedrooms which are all en-suite, open lounge/ dining area and a very up to date Kitchen with all the equipment needed to reflex the high standard.
It has that very rare commodity -it's own integral garage which is suitable for most small to medium cars. Other parking can normally be arranged in the local car park for £30 per week.
At the rear there is steep steps up to a patio which shares the same panoramic views - but this wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues or young children.
On the top floor there is a large twin en-suite with great views over to Torbay and Thatcher's Rock with digital TV. On the third floor is the master en-suite with King Size bed and the same great sea views and digital TV.
On the second floor is the wonderful lounge with sea views, dining area and off this is the very spacious and well equipped kitchen with a six burner, double oven range cooker and large fridge freezer. Off the kitchen is the door to the patio.
On the ground floor is the garage and a double bedroom en-suite with digital TV.
Over and above the three en-suite bathrooms there is a separate WC for any visitors
We ask for a 20% deposit with the booking and the remaining 80% six weeks before your arrival. Payment can be made via cheque, electronic banking or via credit card
Brixham is situated between Paignton and Dartmouth and is one of the few un-spoilt fishing villages left in South Devon. You can use it as a base to explore or alternatively just leave your car parked and explore the region on foot or via the wonderful ferry service to Dartmouth or Torquay.

This gorgeous apartment resting right above Brixham Harbour, forms part of our luxury Maritime Suites collection. The perfect place for families to enjoy magical holidays on Devon's south coast, it's just a stroll from the area's beaches, restaurants and walking routes, and has all the space and comfort you could ask for.
With a superb layout and gorgeous interior design, Mayflower occupies most of the building's ground floor and is the largest of the Maritime Suites. It has its own front entrance and has been refurbished to an impeccable standard. The property boasts a plush master bedroom and large living area with sofa bed and TV. There's also a dining area where meals can be enjoyed together, so for guests looking for a luxury holiday property where they can relax and unwind after glorious days spent exploring on the coast, it doesn't get much better.
As with all the other suites within the collection, Mayflower's fittings and features are top notch. The bathroom is positively palatial and includes a spacious walk-in shower, his and hers basins and demisting mirror. To the front of the apartment behind half-height plantation shutters, a gorgeous light-filled room offers guests a kitchen area. Though there isn't a cooker, it's equipped with an air-fryer, microwave, kettle, toaster and pod coffee machine so you can still whip up anything from continental breakfasts to tapas-style lunches and dinners.
Within metres of the harbour and seafront, The Maritime Suites really couldn't be better positioned. All of Brixham's fantastic eateries and independent shops lie within a short stroll of its front door, while beaches like Breakwater, Fishcombe Cove, Churston Cove and Broadsands are also within very easy reach. Nearby, the River Dart meanders between Kingswear and Dartmouth, offering stunning coastal walks and incredibly beautiful river views. Gateway to the South Hams, its pretty villages and wild beaches offer plenty to do while staying in the area including water sports, sailing, cycling and wild swimming.

Good basic kitchen facilities with air fryer, toaster, microwave, cutlery, kettle, plates and glasses etc. Very well situated with a few minutes walk down to the harbour and town. It would have been good to have received an information pack on arrival, as we weren't sure where to put rubbish from the bins or whether there would be any cleaning during our stay. No instructions on how to use the electric fire or heating in the apartment. Other than that I would thoroughly recommend the suite for a stay and would revisit some time in the future."

Port Side is a newly refurbished two-bedroom, self-contained linked property, 20 minutes stroll to the bustling working harbour of Brixham. There is so much to see and do locally, this is a great place to stay and ideal for those who want to be within walking distance of the pubs and restaurants around the harbour bowl where parking is in high demand. You can spend hours wandering and exploring, watching the fishing boats coming in and out of the port, or looking around the harbour with its quaint shops and historic Golden Hind ship. Perhaps walk along the Brixham Marina to the Breakwater to see the resident seals or out to the Berry Head Nature Reserve. If a lover of history Brixham Museum or the military museum at Battery Gardens. Prefer to just relax over a drink and watch the world go by then one of the waterside cafes or pubs with their pavement tables. There are great beaches close by, Fishcombe Cove, Churston Cove, Breakwater Beach, or Broadsands just a little further out (half an hours walk or 5 minutes in a car). You can take the little passenger ferry to Torquay or Dartmouth and return on the steam train , or take a road trip to Dartmouth across the river Dart on one of the car/passenger ferries, enjoy Dartmouth then carry on down across Slapton Sands and explore the South Hams. There is Paignton Zoo to visit (5 miles). Churston Golf Course for the keen golfer or Cayman Golf for the enthusiastic beginner, National Trust properties Greenway and Coleton Fishacre to mention just a few of the numerous and varied attractions in and around Torbay.
Port Side is easy to get to with free on street parking, both to the front and rear of the property, unlike most of Brixham. The house itself is spacious with a modern open plan kitchen, eye level oven, dishwasher, microwave, induction hob, toaster, fridge freezer, washing machine and all the utensils you need. The kitchen bar overlooks the lounge/diner with its comfy couches and extendable dining table. A fantastic wood burner with glass front so that you can relax and watch the flames and there is also a smart TV for your entertainment. On the same level, off the main hall is a modern tiled bathroom with shower over bath and dual fuel towel rail, a separate toilet with basin, and a built-in cupboard housing an ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner and other domestic items you may need. A tumble dryer is situated under the stairs.
There are 2 well-proportioned bedrooms upstairs, the main bedroom contains a king size bed with dressing table, wardrobe and smart TV. Opposite the main bedroom is another good-sized bedroom which can either be made up as 2 single beds or another king size bed. Port Side is accessed from the front via steps leading up from the road. At the rear of the house there is a terraced garden with a private patio where a set of French doors lead into the kitchen area. The terraces are wonderfully sheltered and a fantastic place to sit and relax. The property can also be accessed from the rear via a quiet road with further free on street parking.
If you don’t feel like walking there is a local bus route with a bus stop only 150 yards from the house or there are many local taxis

Landscove Holiday Cottage is a comfortable self catering, 2 bedroom holiday bungalow for four guests, set in a picturesque location on Landscove Holiday Park, Brixham. Adjacent to Berry Head Nature Reserve and less than a mile from Brixham Harbour.
The cottage lies along side the Devon coast path and approximately 1/3 of a mile from Berry Head Nature Reserve with its superb sea views, Napoleonic forts, Guard House Cafe and nature walks. Slightly further afield is Shoalestone outdoor swimming pool, St Marys Bay and Kingswear. Landscove Holiday Cottage is perfect for families, walkers and wildlife lovers alike.
The cottage is situated in a quiet road separate from the main Landscove holiday park but guests may use the bar, restaurant and entertainment facilities between Mid March and the End October. Indoor and outdoor pool facilities are also available but require you to purchase a pass from the holiday park.
There is a local shop and launderette on site, which are open during the main season. A small childrens play area can also be found behind the main complex.

This attractive, light and airy, 3-bedroom apartment, nestles on the hillside above Brixham's pretty inner Harbour.
There are steps to the property - this is Brixham after all, but visitors to Sundeck are rewarded with views across Torbay, and that most welcome of elements in a holiday property – a little outside space in which to relax, unwind with one's tipple of choice, and to take in the views
Sundeck is situated on the sunnier, west facing side of the harbour and has windows to three aspects. Its spacious, light interior comprises a large, open plan, sitting room with dining area, well-equipped, galley kitchen and – on the ‘ground floor level' there are two double, ensuite bedrooms – one with a shower, W.C and washbasin and the other with W.C. and washbasin.
On the lower level, there is the ‘master bedroom' with adjacent family bathroom. Outside there is a terrace which enjoys sunlight all day and into the evening. A great space for alfresco dining.
Sundeck provides accommodation that is simple, stylish, and modern throughout. There are deep, comfy sofas and nice personal touches including original artworks, soft furnishings and mood lighting designed to - hopefully - make for a relaxing stay.
A little further up Bay View steps, Sundeck visitors can also enjoy ‘Deck 7' a larger, elevated, garden area with seating and more great views down into Brixham Harbour, across Torbay, and even as far as Dorset - on a clear day. Local amenities, including Brixham's many new restaurants and bars, are a short walk away – close, but not too close! The pretty harbourside, shops and wonderful beach are all within easy reach. August 2022Absolutely loved our stay at Sun Deck. Positioned so conveniently just a short walk into the harbour yet very quiet in the evenings. The cottage was very tastefully designed, comfortable and clean. Although the car parking space is a short walk up hill it's so worth it as parking in Brixham is very difficult and on street parking ( where available ) is limited ans precarious. The sun deck car parking space is roomy and safe. There was three of us in the cottage myself and my 19 year old daughter coped easily with the steep steps. My 76 year old mother struggled a bit however there is a handrail and although it was difficult for her she thought it worth it for such lovely accommodation. We would definitely book Sun Deck again.Sarah

Two Sails is perfect for 2 families holidaying together with the option of having their own private space. The property has been designed so that it can be divided into 2 via a dividing door. Each side has 2 bedrooms, striking bathrooms, and modern, open plan lounge kitchen diner. Each has their own set of double French doors which open onto the back patio where all can enjoy the sunny terraces in private.
There is a Lazy Jane BBQ with a detachable griddle which can also be used as a fire-pit.
It is also very easy to merge together inside the property via the dividing door where everyone can join together in the cosy lounge with the wood fire on Port Side.
Starboard side boasts 2 bedrooms below decks, a double bedroom with walk in dressing room and the Mermaid room, really popular with children with its resident Mermaid, Sea Horses and porthole window. The Mermaid room can either be made up as 2 single beds or a double bed. A fabulous shared bathroom with bath, shower over bath, basin and toilet. Above, amidships is a modern galley kitchen which extends to a lounge diner with smart TV.
Off the lounge is a door which opens out into Port Side.
Port side boasts two large bedrooms on the upper deck, 1 double room and 1 twin room which can also be made up as a double bed if required. Amidships is a separate toilet, a stylish, modern bathroom with shower over bath and separate basin. Port Side has an open plan modern kitchen lounge diner with wood burner and smart TV. The dining table can be extended to fit up to 8 people.
Unlike most of Brixham's holiday properties, there is on site parking for 1 vehicle and available on street parking to the front and rear of the property.

Self check in, fabulous 2 bedroom annex located in a quiet area with private and on street parking. Can be arranged as 2 double bedrooms or 1 double bedroom and 1 x 2 singles. Brixham town and harbour are only 15 to 20 minutes walk away with all its pubs, restaurants, shops and superb walks. The South West Coastal Path only a 10 minute walk from the property. Dartmoor National Park and numerous other attractions and activities are within a 15 mile radius.
The space
Completely refurbished in 2020 Starboard Side gives landlubbers a taste of the sea without having to step off the shore. It's bright open plan galley kitchen , diner and lounge are above with stairs leading down below decks to a luxury bathroom and 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom with double bed has it's own dressing room fit for a captain, the second bedroom with it's porthole window and resident mermaid ready to welcome you can be arranged as a 1 double or 2 single beds.

The majority of holiday lets in Brixham do not have their own private parking space. The demand for street parking is extremely high at busy times. Starboard Side has off road parking outside your window, making it easy to come and go, as you please, exploring the area without stressing over parking. - "We loved our weeks stay there, tastefully decorated, plenty of room, fully stocked with any utensils you would ever need. I would stay again. The only thing we were unhappy with was a message from the owner via the property management asking if there was an issue with the heating as the house was showing 30 degrees, in other words turn down the heating. On that day it was the worst rain and cold day so we got back early, our parents are 83 and 84 so we’re wet through and cold to the bone so to dry all the clothes and warm us up we turned up the heat so clearly the owner didn’t appreciate it, baring in mind we paid 2600.00 for just a week when we only paid that for two weeks in Barbados in April I found it a bit of an insult, if you don’t want people to use your heating on the worst weather week of the summer then don’t rent it out. We also had a water leak outside the house so we’re told that we had to not park at the property for 3 days, after ringing water board , council and property management the best advice we got was pay for a public car park. 17.00 per day was the cheapest and half a mile from the property, luckily the lads worked hard and got it finished sooner so we could at least pack the cars rather than take cases half a mile away. So the property was excellent the rest average at best"

The nearest car park for unloading is a 1 to 2 minute walk from the property. Once you have unloaded you can take your car to the long stay car park at Freshwater which is an 8 to 10 minute walk from the property through the harbour and shops.
Four day, eight day and monthly car park tickets can be bought at the card payment machines in the following Brixham car parks: Brixham Central and Freshwater. These tickets must be clearly displayed when parking, with all details visible.
A 4 day permit is £25 and an 8 day permit is £45. Alternatively you can purchase a virtual permit online via Torbay Council Website. Permits allow you to use over 30 car parks across Torbay.

Thanks to its elevated setting in Brixham's natural harbour bowl, the cottage offers fantastic views across the harbour, marina and out to the Breakwater. This newly decorated cottage is just a stone's throw from everything Brixham has to offer, with fantastic pubs, restaurants, cafés and a variety of independent retailers all within walking distance, making it a wonderful choice for a classic coastal break.

Neighbourhood description
Polly's Place is situated on one of the most characterful streets in Brixham called Prospect Road. Just a matter of minutes walk and you can be in the town with its many cafés, restaurants and shops or enjoying a pleasant walk around the harbour to the marina and breakwater.
Brixham has long been famed for its links to the sea, and now has an up and coming culinary scene to add to its armoury, with an increasing number of independent cafés and delightful restaurants offering ingredients landed just a stones’ throw from their doorstep. For walkers, The South West Coast Path will take you as far as your legs will carry you, and entertaining the little ones couldn’t be easier with Paignton Zoo, The Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown @ Quay West all within a short drive.
Getting around
Polly's Place is located in the heart of Brixham, with everything within a short walk away for your stay. Why not take one of the passenger ferries across to Torbay or around Berry Head and over to Dartmouth? The bus station located in central Brixham has a regular bus service which runs via Paignton to Torquay. You can pick up the South West Coast path in either direction and enjoy miles of stunning coastal walking routes.
- "We had a fantastic week with our 2 kids. We went crabbing, went on a boat trip, jetskiing, ate at Rockfish (heavenly food!), visited the pirate ship, went to the beach. The house is really lovely and cosy. There are a lot of stairs, but that's standard for Brixham. The stairs to the main bedroom are a little steep and winding so I wouldn't recommend for anyone who is a little unsteady on their feet. There isn't parking but we found some onstreet parking not too far away so we didn't have to pay. Because the roads are so narrow with no parking, they are lovely and quiet and its so lovely to stroll down to the harbour. "

We are a 8-10 mins walk from the Harbour/sea front and the shops in Brixham, you have your own entrance and can come and go as you please. It is a very quiet place with a pub near by.
