When we arrived we noticed lots of things we had to email about. - bedroom blind had fallen down and was on the bed. -Kitchen blind was on the kitchen worktop. -Bath panel was pushed in. - toilet Roll holder was hanging off. - no light bulb in the main bedroom. - big patch of mold or burn behind one of the twin beds. - no microwave like stated in the description. - one bath towel for 2 children. The general cleanliness of the property was poor. Very dusty, hairs all in the bathroom, stale food in the sofa. We contact the owners and just got a thanks for letting them know email. We asked if Anything would be done during our stay about the bedroom blind, bedroom light and the towel situation, also If there was a hoover so we could clean we never received a reply. It’s a shame as the location is beautiful, property could be nice with a good clean and TLC. However having to try and clean a property when you arrive and having the kids wake at the crack of dawn everyday as no blind wasn’t ideal. Owners were quick to reply about what needed doing before we left but no interest resolving issues. "

Saltwater is 2 bedroom modern property spread over three floors. It has been newly decorated and furnished. It is situated in the pretty Georgian village of Shaldon close to beaches and a river.

The property features 2 beautifully presented bedrooms on the top floor - a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom (please note bunk beds suited to under 12 years). You’ll also find a modern shower room with toilet and sink here. The first floor accommodates the lounge with a fold down dining table seating up to 4 and a flat screen TV (complete with Amazon Prime and catch up TV), well equipped kitchen and access out to a sunny courtyard where alfresco dining can be enjoyed at the 4 seater patio table. There is also a small wc on this floor.

In the unlikely event you run out of things to see and do in Shaldon then the Victorian Seaside resort of Teignmouth is a short ferry ride away (or you can drive there in 5 minutes). Teignmouth offers additional places to visit including the Grand Pier, a large play park and a dinosaur themed crazy golf course. There are also lots of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes here plus the local train station links you to nearby Newton Abbot, Torquay and Exeter and beyond.

This is a Characterful Cottage with plenty of traditional features alongside modern touches. The cottage is in central shaldon and is only a 3 minute walk from the high street and beach.

The Space:
The renovated cottage is ideal for couples or families. The downstairs is the perfect social space for your time in Shaldon. With a cosy living room and log burning fire, guests can enjoy an evening in after a busy or relaxing day at the beach. A fully equipped kitchen with all modern appliances allows our guests to cook in if they do not wish to go out.

Stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find the bedrooms and bathroom, with a brand new EMMA mattress in the primary bedroom. It is a king size bed, and another bedroom with either a super king bed which you can convert to twin beds if needed. Please note that the bed will be made into a superking double unless we are told you would like it split.

There is a small patio at the back of the property with table and chairs for you to sit and enjoy a coffee in the sun.

- "I am so pleased that we booked this cottage for the Easter weekend. It has been beautifully renovated and is very cosy and comfortable...everything you need for quiet, relaxing weekend away. Location wise it was great, close to all amenities, cafes etc. and close to the Botanical Gardens. The only thing I would say is that if travelling with elderly people, the staircase might be a bit awkward as some of the steps are narrow in places and the handrail is made of rope so isn't as sturdy as a fixed handrail...but don't let that put you off. Just a consideration!"

- "We had a fabulous relaxing stay at this lovely character property in Shaldon. It was very clean with a well equipped kitchen and a nice dining room and pleasant sitting room. The bedrooms were also clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was family sized with a spacious hot shower and a bath as well. There are stairs but there are stairs gates if you have children. There is a lot to do in the area which is very dog friendly. Many pubs and restaurants welcome dogs. We visited the beaches in Shaldon (through smugglers tunnel), Dawlish and Dawlish Warren (lovely wide long sandy beach). The beaches are very impressive with lots of coloured and tumbled rocks and shells to find. We really enjoyed the walk to magnificent Haytor Rocks on Dartmoor and the stroll by the quarry pools which were very picturesque. Buckhurst Abbey was interesting and we enjoyed some tea and scones after. Lots of places to eat and drink. Masses of pubs to stop at too. Highly recomended by us!"

On the first floor the lounge is a lovely cozy area with a sofa and tv, views of the village and Sea glimpses through the bay window. On the top floor there is a king bed in a beautiful vaulted bedroom. You also have an ensuite with a shower, sink and toilet.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole house and we encourage you to make yourselves as at home as possible.
Small dogs are welcome !

The Neighborhood:
The Strand has the most enviable position situated in the middle of the Beautiful Village of Shaldon. The beach is a one minute walk away and in the other direction the Village green is also a minutes walk.

Explore Shaldon Beach, ideal for swimming, sailing, rowing, paddling and rock pool exploring, or the nearby Teignmouth Beach or Ness Cove beach, accessed via an original Smugglers tunnel.

Getting Around:
This house has the option of an off-street parking space close by. This is charged separately at £10 per night, please just request it on booking.

Other Things to Note:
Please note the stairs in this little house are very steep! The quirkiness of the house means it is not suitable for people with difficulties with stairs or young children.
