Oyster Cottage is a gorgeous 19th Century cottage totally renovated and carefully furnished in a contemporary nautical style. Lovingly fitted to a high specification with: Wi-Fi, flat screen UHD smart 4K TV, waste disposal, electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, combi-boiler for constant hot water and gas central heating.

Over the winter 2024/2025 we have done a spring clean checked the cottage thoroughly all ready for you to enjoy the experience of staying in Oyster Cottage, Shaldon even more!

The cottage is reverse level with an open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen on the first floor which allows wonderful views of the sea, estuary and village green. There are UPVC double glazed windows throughout and sliding doors with a juliette balcony off the dining area.

The double room has a comfy double bed with a kingsize duvet and top quality bedding. There is a very roomy fitted wardrobe, venetian blinds, a black out blind and coordinating bedside tables with matching lamps. In the second bedroom there are adult sized bunk beds and a walk in wardrobe. Another kingsize duvet is available for the sofa bed in the open plan lounge.

In the bathroom there is a incredibly spacious walk in shower, tastefully designed and decorated to fit in with the nautical and seaside theme throughout the cottage.

Central village location overlooking the popular Bowling Club Green and less than 100 metres from Shaldon’s popular safe, sandy beach with a passenger ferry to Teignmouth. Easy pull up outside to unload, free parking around the green. Also many "local' parking places nearby and two large car parks. Leave the car behind for the duration of your stay, everywhere is walkable!

The village has excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops all within easy walking distance. The wonderful London Inn is just across the green. There
are two great beaches, a smuggler's tunnel, fishing and crabbing opportunities, a little zoo run by the Wildlife Trust, 18 hole approach golf at The Ness, the botanical gardens and a children's play park all close by within walking distance. Also an indoor heated pool, spa and gym open to the public at Coast View just 5 minutes by car (day membership required).

Two miles away is the excellent Teignmouth Golf Course designed by the Augusta National architect. The famous South West Coastal Footpath is easily accessible just 15 minutes walk from the cottage, https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk and if wine tasting is your thing you must visit the Old Walls Vineyard at Bishopsteignton just a short drive or taxi ride away!

Shaldon’s elegant Georgian architecture, fisherman’s cottages and narrow streets exude charm. Throughout the year there are activities, festivals and the very popular Regatta in August along with a Christmas market and the annual 3 legged race on Boxing Day such a fun event to take part in and watch!

Parking was a minor issue but we didnt really need to use the vehicle much as we just took the ferry over to Teignmouth. Situated in front of a lovely green space which was used daily by all for craft market, morris dancers picnic area and the like. Two mins walk from Shaldon beach which is delightful. From here you can catch the ferry for the short trip over to Teignmouth where we was fortunate to see the air show. Take a walk around the narrow streets of the village, plenty of good quality cafes and pubs providing good quality food. Walk along the coastal path, visit ness beach or venture further along the coast to seaside towns. Recommend the steam train to Dartmouth and River Cruise. Great cottage - not huge but plenty of room to be comfortable, comfy beds, lovely Decor. Pay and display Car parking is a 10/15 min walk away if you cannot get a spot around the green but not a problem to park outside cottage to load or unload. Hopefully will return."

Located in the picturesque seaside village of Shaldon, Seascape Cottage is a delightful period Fisherman's Cottage which over the years has been sympathetically modernised, keeping many original features. Over three floors all rooms have been stylishly furnished to a high standard. The ground floor has original hard flooring throughout and a lounge with comfortable furnishings, fireplace and all the mod cons. The modern shaker style kitchen works perfectly with the period features and is equipped with all the must haves. The dining room with vaulted glazed roof gives access to the quaint enclosed courtyard with bistro table and chairs.

The first floor holds two bedrooms; a super-king that can be easily adapted to a twin bedroom and a further triple bunk bedroom (small double with single on top). The accommodation consists of a Lounge/diner, rocking chair, matching chair & sofa bed, extendible dining table for 6, tall floor standing dresser unit with games, good selection of books and DVD's, Wi-Fi connection, TV unit with flat screen SMART TV and DVD player, table lamp, linen chest and standard lamp and wall hung mirrors and all furnished in a maritime theme.

The carpeted staircase leads up from the Lounge with a stainless steel and plate glass balustrade which continues along the Landing. The Landing is carpeted & has a large white chest of drawers.

Off the Landing there is a contemporary Bathroom . There is a curved Bath with Shower over, stainless steel wall towel radiator, WC & basin. A medicine cabinet is conveniently placed at high level with a mirror front and a large storage cupboard is available for towels under the window.

The Main Bedroom has a double bed with memory foam mattress, made up ready in blue and white bed linen, bedside lamps and a wall hung TV at the foot of the bed, there is a wardrobe & attractive storage baskets. The Second Bedroom , also made up ready in blue and white bed linen has two twin beds with wardrobe, bedside cabinet & table lamp.

On road Parking is available directly outside The Cottage for a limited time, with all day free parking around the Bowling Green 50 yards away or in the village Car Park at the Ness for a fee.

The Cottage is perfectly positioned centrally within the village with local shops , cafes, pubs & restaurants only a stroll away in one direction and the beach and ferry in the other direction.

Close to all amenities and with the beach just a 5 minute stroll away it is ideally situated for family holidays, with short breaks offered at various times of the year. Week stays start on Saturdays in the high season with short breaks available at other times of the year.

Our attractive, cosy 18th Century holiday cottage has been lovingly restored and is ideally situated just a stones throw from the beach in the heart of picturesque seaside village of Shaldon.
The cottage was once two cottages but knocked into one many years back so it is surprisingly roomy.

Enter from the quiet street through the front door,mind your head the door is tiny!

The dining room has a pine table with 4 chairs and a bench. There are books and nicknacks on shelves and a small work station.
Past the stairs there's a recessed window seat looking to the courtyard garden then around the corner to the kitchen .

The kitchen has a gas oven and electric hob,there's a Microwave tucked under the units too.
All the usual pots pans plates and utensils .There is a washer/dryer ,dishwasher ,fridge and freezer.

The light airy modern lounge has a 7 seater L shaped sofa, 32'flat screen freeview Sky TV,DVD player with a lot of DV's.

The dinning room seats 6-7 with windows out to the courtyard and Horse Lane.
Stairs lead up to the 3 double bedrooms and a bathroom.

Bedroom 1. Has a modern light airy feel yet has an old original fire place a double bed, bedside cabinets,a small pine built in wardrobe and window onto horse lane.

The Mews are located just a few minutes walk to the sea, local shops and restaurants. This lovely property is located in the quaint south Devon fishing village of Shaldon with its narrow streets and old fashioned charm. Driving and parking in the village is a real problem so the integral garage and installed EV charger is a big plus.

Kids love our beaches and we provide buckets and spades, crabbing lines and other beach paraphernalia.

For small village there is a lot going on including an internationally acclaimed music festival in usually in June - the 2025 festival included the grammy nominated internationally acclaimed capella octet VOCE8 and the remarkable young muscian of the year winner finalist Martin Bartlet. The water carnival and regatta have variable dates in the summer and in November there is the themed bonfire on the beach, last year theme was pirates of the Caribbean and a pirate ship was built and burnt.

There is an ferry from Shaldon across the estuary to Teignmouth where boat, fishing and other watersports activities can be found. Whilst just a few miles away the splendor of Dartmoor with its rocky Tors and rushing streams can be found. Also on the doorstep is the Riveria of the South - Torquay.

Walkers will love or hate the SW coast path from Torquay to Shalson it is one of the toughest in the whole 630 miles.

Harp House is a deceptively spacious property situated right in the heart of the popular seaside village of Shaldon. With a vast array of restaurants, pubs, fantastic butchers, bakeries, and local pharmacies. Not to mention it is just a short walk to the beach! As you enter the property in the ground floor entrance hallway there is a very handy utility space housing the washing machine, a great place to hang up coats and store shoes. Upstairs to the first floor is where the bright and airy living room is located with its floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful shutters. These large windows lead out onto a front-facing balcony (Disclaimer: The balcony has a low-height wrought iron balustrade railing so guests should use it at their own risk). The kitchen/diner is opposite the living area which is fully equipped with a wide variety of appliances for guests to use. This area then leads out onto the small courtyard area with its bench and dining table seating. (Although 1 medium or 2 small dogs are permitted, guests are asked to not allow their pet to use the garden area to ‘do their business’) On this floor, there is also a toilet and one of the four bedrooms contains a single bed. Upstairs to the second floor is where the remaining bedrooms are located. One of the bedrooms contains a king-size bed with wardrobes and a chest of drawers for guests to store their belongings away in. There is another bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower room and lastly one more bedroom with a single bed. The family bathroom is also on the second floor and has a bath with a shower above.

Harp House is situated in a fantastic location for not only exploring the beach and everything that Shaldon has to offer but also for accessing popular areas of Torquay such as Babbacombe and Wellswood. The towns of Paignton and Brixham in addition to Torquay make up the English Riviera. Across Shaldon bridge in the opposite direction is Teignmouth and easy access to the city of Exeter.

The property is also a good base for enjoying the Shaldon Regatta, which is a festival that is over 200 years old. The regatta is for all ages, and it encourages people of all abilities to take part in a safe environment to enjoy the river and sea safely. There is a huge number of events throughout the regatta, both on and off the water for teams as well as individuals. The pillow fight on a slippery pole on the last Monday of the regatta always draws the crowds!

- "We thoroughly enjoyed all the facilities available in this property. It had been equipped with a great deal of thought, from the quantities of cutlery and crockery, to the board games and books available. Downside was the damp smell on entering the property which was off-putting until we got upstairs and found the lovely apartment. Car parking was an issue and we were constantly anxious about moving the car so as not to get fined, and the long walk uphill to the car park early each morning on the Ness. It took some getting used to, and cost us about £30 in parking fees. Despite being asked in the instruction booklet to clean the property we were unable to do so as there wasn’t a single broom, vacuum cleaner or dustpan and brush, available to us. Instructions in the property told us where to find cleaning materials but the door was locked with a Yale key which we did not have. We cleaned as best we could. Beds were lovely and comfortable but bedding was creased and unironed, which took away from the luxury feel of a very lovely holiday home. These were just small things that could be improved on and should not take away from the beautiful apartment that it is."

This is a great location for those looking to stay in Shaldon and enjoy the fantastic beach and nearby restaursnts or for exploring the nearby town of Teignmouth, the English Riviera (made up of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham) or even to travel slightly further afield to the well known Dartmouth and Salcombe. The Mews has a cosy living and dining area with patio doors to a small south facing decking There are two comfortable bedrooms on the upper floor along with a bathroom with a bath and shower. The village with its narrow, ancient streets is notoriously difficult for parking, so a rare attraction for our property is the integral garage with EV Charger.

Shaldon sits across the Teign estuary from Teignmouth and is connected by passenger ferry and the iconic bridge. It has an award winning butcher and baker and yes, look next door a candlestick maker. There is also a well stocked convenience store, pharmacy and post office along with 4 pubs and several convenient cafes.

Within a few minutes walk are the beaches including the Ness beach which can only be accessed by a smugglers tunnel. There are hosts of rock pools and plenty of sand for sand castles. There is also a small zoo which specialises in looking after rare and endangered small animals.

Shaldon is renowned for its music festival usually held in June. Punching way above its weight for a small seaside town, this years line up included the internationally acclaimed young muscian of the year winner Mathew Bartlett and the serial grammy nominated acappella group Voces8. In July and August the beach hosts the family fun Water Carnival and the Regatta. In November there is a spectacular bonfire and firework display on the beach. In the last few years the Millenium Falcon and the Black Pearl from Pirates of the Carribean have been constructed and set alight.

On the south coast of Devon just 30 minutes from the city of Exeter and Exeter Airport Shaldon is just a shoort drive to the English Riveria (Torquay) and the wilds of Dartmoor. - "Property as described other than Sykes who we booked through said it had a garden which was very high on our list of requirements, however it did not stop us enjoying the week and the weather held for us. We had trips out to Torquay, 15 minutes, Sidmouth a bit further but well worth a visit, a game of golf for the men and good food in the local cafes/restaurants."

The Cob Barn is a newly converted two storey detached barn. The ground floor has an open plan kitchen, living, diner, twin bedroom and separate shower room. Upstairs is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

This recently converted barn is situated on our family run, 80-acre farm and campsite, offering views of the River Teign and only a short walk to Shaldon Beach.

The space
The Cob Barn is a detached, two-storey cottage, set at the centre of the farm, close to The Old Piggery. The Cob Barn and the Old Piggery share the garden and patio while offering privacy from the other cottages.
Ground Floor has open plan kitchen, living, diner with tiled floor. Dining area seats four. Kitchen has gas oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Bedroom 2 is on the ground floor with twin beds and Freeview TV and separate shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.

First Floor offers Bedroom 1 with double bed, Freeview TV, Velux window, sloping ceilings and en-suite with shower over bath, and toilet.

The property boasts three generously sized bedrooms, two double rooms both with ensuite, and one twin room with pull out trundle beds, creating space for up to 8. Please note the trundle beds are suitable for children only, with a maximum of six adults allowed at this home. If all beds are required, one will be placed in the twin room to sleep up to three, with the final bed in the double room for additional floor space.

Teignmouth is a charming coastal town, renowned for its beautiful beaches, vibrant promenade, and bustling town centre. Guests can take a stroll along the sandy shore, or for the more adventurous thrill seekers water sports such as surfing, paddleboarding, or kayaking are a must. Or perhaps visit the Teignmouth Pier, a Victorian gem that offers stunning views of the Devonshire coastline, along with The Pavilions which offers live performances, music and cinema.

Parking is available on the driveway of the property for up to two vehicles. Please be aware steep steps are required to access the property, and the garden is across multi-levels.

The space
The Captains Cabin is the ground floor of a 18th Century Edwardian Townhouse, with the old shopfront bay window, straight out of a Dickens novel. It has an open plan living and dining room. Separate bedroom and ensuite bathroom. At the rear, a covered patio for those sunny morning breakfasts or evening drinkies.

A key safe is on the right hand side of the front door, giving you freedom to arrive and leave at will.

Shaldon is a cute little fishing village, not really designed for cars. There is lots of free on street parking around the village if you know where to look. Luckily, we will give you the insiders free map of where to park. Keep it to yourself!!

Dolphin Cottage, 11 Horse Lane is a cosy cottage in the quaint village of Shaldon and is less than 1 minute walk from the beach, village centre and ferry to Teignmouth.

The cottage has recently been refurbished and is a light, bright space decorated in a beachy style.
The cottage has all the amenities needed to ensure a comfortable stay.

The space
On arrival at Dolphin Cottage there is a small gated, seating area leading to the front door.

The kitchen is well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge with small freezer compartment.

There is plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses as well as children's plastic crockery and cutlery. Plenty of pots, pans, serving utensils and place mats are provided.

There is a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and first aid kit located in the kitchen.

The kitchen table has 7 chairs.
A high chair is also provided.

The kitchen leads into open plan living room, with 2 comfortable sofas.

Wooden stairs lead up to Bedroom 1, with a king size bed, TV and plenty of drawer space, small hanging rail

Welcome to the Salty, a light filled cottage in the centre of Shaldon. The town beach is a couple of minutes away and the shops, cafes and pubs are a stones throw. Catch the ferry over to Teignmouth for a change of scene or walk over via the bridge.

Shaldon is the perfect place for a taste of beach life; paddle boarding, lounging on the sands and sailing. The nearby Moors beckon for walking and wild life and the town of Totnes isn't far for dipping your toe into bohemian life.

The space
The Salty is set on three floors, the toilet and large shower with underfloor heating on the ground floor. Going up the stairs to the first bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen with its dishwasher, oven and microwave and light filled living area with its gas fire and french doors to sit and check on the tide coming in or out. Go up the second flight of stairs, you will find the second bedroom. The Salty is cosy quaint and unique, please note the stairs are fairly steep.

Whilst there is no garden you will be supplied with a picnic hamper and cool box so you can set up on the beach and carry on until you're ready to wander home.

Positioned in the rabbit warren of streets the Salty has no parking of its own but you can easily unload outside the property and you then have a choice of parking up by the Ness, East Cliff car park (5 minutes away) or just as you come in over the bridge, Lower Point car park. (7 minutes away) Shaldon is small enough to walk everywhere or pop over to Teignmouth by ferry and catch the train to maybe Totnes or Dawlish or even Exeter.
Just remember to pay for the parking (daily).

In the heart of the village on the bowling green, Sanctuary Cottage is a stone’s throw from the beach, pubs/restaurants, shops (fashion, beauty, butcher, bakery), zoo, botanical gardens & walks. There is also a ferry to Teignmouth.

With 2 separate living rooms, it is easy to relax & enjoy games, or settle down to a good book in peace. The well equipped kitchen seats 8. 3 bedrooms (2 can be singles or superkings)

Both patios include outdoor furniture (+ outside shower & WC).

The space
Original 1812 traditional cob cottage fully refurbished in 2023 with modern amenities throughout yet retaining the charm and many original features. Two separate equal sized living rooms one with a log burner, the other with a smart TV.

The kitchen comfortably seats 6 or 8/10 when table extended in a well equipped kitchen with everything you would expect at home.

Three good sized bedrooms with the superking beds being able to be split into 4 single beds if necessary over looking the bowling green. The back bedroom is a spacious double. All rooms have hanging & drawer spaces for your stay.

We often stay here as a family and therefore able to keep it to a standard we would want from a home.

Including 3 bathrooms. Family, ensuite & convenient outdoor beach accessible convenience.

Oyster Cottage is perfectly located on Shaldon green, just 50m from the beach. Local shops, cafes and pubs are also just minutes walk away. The cottage has modern nautical decor, vaulted ceilings, and a gorgeous bathroom with a large walk-in shower. One wow feature is the amazing views from the lounge, dining area and kitchen which are upstairs due to the clever reverse level design. The Old Toll House is a detached, spacious cottage in the quaint seaside village of Shaldon. Unlike many properties in Shaldon it has its own parking space suitable for a large family car. There are 3 bedrooms; 1 kingsize room, 1 double room and 1 room with 2 double beds. The cottage has plenty of space and is newly redecorated and furnished. There is a large, light living room with plenty of seating, as well as a desk. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped and ideal for families and dog owners.

Set over 3 floors, The Old Toll House is newly decorated and thoughtfully equipped to provide a home from home. The house feels light and spacious, and benefits from its own parking space (suitable for a large family car) plus street parking in the locality. The living room is a bright airy room complete with Smart TV and free wi-fi. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and there is 1 king-size room, 1 double room and 1 large room with 2 double beds. The Cosy Coastal Retreat
The light and airy lounge is the perfect spot to unwind, featuring a spacious 7-seater L-shaped sofa, a Smart 43” TV/DVD, and plenty of natural light. The dining room offers a Habitat pine table, seating 6-7, with two benches and views of the courtyard and Horse Lane—ideal for family meals or games.

The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering, with a gas oven/hob, electric oven, Bosch coffee machine, and microwave.

Upstairs, you’ll find three charming double bedrooms:

Renovated Grade 2 Georgian cottage in the sort after area of The Green in Shaldon. Set in a quiet location yet close to all the local amenities and waters front. The cottage has been sympathetically updated to retain some of its original features. It has plenty of space for relaxing in and the 2 bedrooms at the front overlook The Green. At the back of the property is the kitchen/dining area and a downstairs shower room. There is also a small courtyard area, a real sun trap.
