It has a patio within the complex but no view although there is a communal bench outside with a lovely estuary view which we used frequently. It only has electric storage heaters which were impossible to work out hence the house was cold at times. The allocated numbered car park space within the complex is on a slope and a dip so was totally unsuitable for our low car, scraped the front. We used a different space as it was quiet but could be a problem when full as the roads are single track without parking. 3 bedroom coastguard cottage with an Aga, which is situated in the hamlet of Soar, nestled inbetween Salcombe and Hope Cove.
Within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and surrounded by neighbouring farmland and National Trust Land. Both Soar Mill Cove and South Sand beaches are within walking distance of the property.
We are also lucky enough to be on the South West Coast Path with the most amazing walks on our doorstep.

Guest access
The house is all yours...we only take a small storage cupboard outside (to keep the gardening tools)! Apart from that it is well and truly your house for however long you are staying.

Tucked away in the picturesque hamlet of Soar, this delightful collection of lodges can be found just a short drive from the bustling seaside town of Salcombe. Set in acres of national trust land means there is no end of beautiful walks that will take you for miles along the majestic cliffs of the South Hams, boasting some of the best views that our coastal paths can offer.

The space
Accommodation:
3 steps up decking to side entrance, door leading to open plan living, kitchen and dining area.
Sitting Room with L-shaped sofa, 2 armchairs, Smart TV, electric flame effect fire, dining table to seat 6 and patio door access to decking.
Kitchen area with electric cooker, gas hobs, fridge freezer, washing/dryer machine, dishwasher and microwave.
Hallway leading to all rooms.
Bedroom 1 with 5ft king bed and fitted wardrobes. Small dressing area leading into an en-suite with shower, basin and WC.
Bedroom 2 with 3ft Single bed & 3ft trundle bed and fitted wardrobes. 
Bedroom 3 with 4'6ft double bed
Family bathroom bath with shower over, basin and WC.

Outside:
Private raised decking with several table and chairs (barbecues not provided). A grass strip runs alongside the decking and hedge. Large recreation area at The Salcombe Retreat.

Parking:
Designated parking outside the lodge. Further parking available for guests.

Please note there are no facilities for EV charging.

Included: Bed linen and towels (guests must provide their own beach towels), gas central heating. 
Internet and Telephone: Wi-Fi. There is no landline telephone available and mobile reception is dependent upon your provider. Please check with your provider prior to booking. 
Pets: One dog allowed. Pet charge £30.00 per week. 
Electric Vehicles: This property is not suitable for EV charging.
Short breaks: Short breaks are not available. 
Local Facilities: Soar Mill Cove hotel restaurant 2 minutes walk. North Sands and South Sands beach 2 miles. Co-op shop, Post Office, pubs and restaurant all in Malborough 1.5 miles. Salcombe 2.5 miles. Kingsbridge with all facilities 5 miles.

The Crab Pot has been a treasure in our family for over four generations, we are now opening our cottage door to invite you in. 180 degree view, The Crab Pot perches on south sands beach, towering slightly above the high tide, close enough to hear the rumble of the waves underneath whilst you relax in the window seat. The Crab Pot is an ideal getaway for families or couples looking to escape to the coast, it is as close to sleeping on the beach under the stars with home comforts as you can get.

The space
A small, fun, old,cottage on the beach. Much loved and run by our families. Originally a lime kiln 200 years ago, then a fisherman's hut, a gun emplacement during the war. A lot of history, the lime kiln is now your modern kitchen.
There is a small area overlooking the sea with a desk. The WiFi in Salcombe is not the fastest but we have made it the best we can get. WiFi download speed about 28, upload 5. There also seem to be occasional issues in the locality with the lines.
Comfortable seating and eating area 8 foot above South Sands Beach and the sea. Plenty to watch!
Do expect sand in the cottage!
Your beds will be beautifully made up for you and you will have a soft bath towel to use, but only within the cottage. There is a double bed in one room and one 3 foot bed and two small 2 foot 6 inch beds in the other room.
Currently there is a separate small shower room and toilet but this is being renovated and turned into a single , beautiful family shower room with a bit more space this winter.

Guest access
Guests have complete access to the cottage and garden. There is a key safe for your use. There is a roof cupboard with a few beach toys and chairs for guests to use and replace when they leave. A simple charcoal BBQ which we ask you to leave clean and replace into the roof cupboard as you leave.

Other things to note
To get to the cottage there is a steep footpath with no handrail and steep steps with a hand rail. There is another big step to go into the cottage. From the cottage to go onto the beach there are more steps with a handrail.
We have partial fibre internet.The download speed is usually 28 and upload 5. On occasions we have had issues with external line problems in the area. This will mean the internet is slower or not working. We always try and get this fixed as soon as possible.
