Oyster Cottage is a gorgeous 19th Century cottage totally renovated and carefully furnished in a contemporary nautical style. Lovingly fitted to a high specification with: Wi-Fi, flat screen UHD smart 4K TV, waste disposal, electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, combi-boiler for constant hot water and gas central heating.

Over the winter 2024/2025 we have done a spring clean checked the cottage thoroughly all ready for you to enjoy the experience of staying in Oyster Cottage, Shaldon even more!

The cottage is reverse level with an open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen on the first floor which allows wonderful views of the sea, estuary and village green. There are UPVC double glazed windows throughout and sliding doors with a juliette balcony off the dining area.

The double room has a comfy double bed with a kingsize duvet and top quality bedding. There is a very roomy fitted wardrobe, venetian blinds, a black out blind and coordinating bedside tables with matching lamps. In the second bedroom there are adult sized bunk beds and a walk in wardrobe. Another kingsize duvet is available for the sofa bed in the open plan lounge.

In the bathroom there is a incredibly spacious walk in shower, tastefully designed and decorated to fit in with the nautical and seaside theme throughout the cottage.

Central village location overlooking the popular Bowling Club Green and less than 100 metres from Shaldon’s popular safe, sandy beach with a passenger ferry to Teignmouth. Easy pull up outside to unload, free parking around the green. Also many "local' parking places nearby and two large car parks. Leave the car behind for the duration of your stay, everywhere is walkable!

The village has excellent restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops all within easy walking distance. The wonderful London Inn is just across the green. There
are two great beaches, a smuggler's tunnel, fishing and crabbing opportunities, a little zoo run by the Wildlife Trust, 18 hole approach golf at The Ness, the botanical gardens and a children's play park all close by within walking distance. Also an indoor heated pool, spa and gym open to the public at Coast View just 5 minutes by car (day membership required).

Two miles away is the excellent Teignmouth Golf Course designed by the Augusta National architect. The famous South West Coastal Footpath is easily accessible just 15 minutes walk from the cottage, https://www.southwestcoastpath.org.uk and if wine tasting is your thing you must visit the Old Walls Vineyard at Bishopsteignton just a short drive or taxi ride away!

Shaldon’s elegant Georgian architecture, fisherman’s cottages and narrow streets exude charm. Throughout the year there are activities, festivals and the very popular Regatta in August along with a Christmas market and the annual 3 legged race on Boxing Day such a fun event to take part in and watch!

Parking was a minor issue but we didnt really need to use the vehicle much as we just took the ferry over to Teignmouth. Walk along the coastal path, visit ness beach or venture further along the coast to seaside towns. Recommend the steam train to Dartmouth and River Cruise. Pay and display Car parking is a 10/15 min walk away if you cannot get a spot around the green but not a problem to park outside cottage to load or unload. Hopefully will return."

The carpeted staircase leads up from the Lounge with a stainless steel and plate glass balustrade which continues along the Landing. The Landing is carpeted & has a large white chest of drawers.

Off the Landing there is a contemporary Bathroom . There is a curved Bath with Shower over, stainless steel wall towel radiator, WC & basin. A medicine cabinet is conveniently placed at high level with a mirror front and a large storage cupboard is available for towels under the window.

The Main Bedroom has a double bed with memory foam mattress, made up ready in blue and white bed linen, bedside lamps and a wall hung TV at the foot of the bed, there is a wardrobe & attractive storage baskets. The Second Bedroom , also made up ready in blue and white bed linen has two twin beds with wardrobe, bedside cabinet & table lamp.

On road Parking is available directly outside The Cottage for a limited time, with all day free parking around the Bowling Green 50 yards away or in the village Car Park at the Ness for a fee.

The Cottage is perfectly positioned centrally within the village with local shops , cafes, pubs & restaurants only a stroll away in one direction and the beach and ferry in the other direction.

Our attractive, cosy 18th Century holiday cottage has been lovingly restored and is ideally situated just a stones throw from the beach in the heart of picturesque seaside village of Shaldon.
The cottage was once two cottages but knocked into one many years back so it is surprisingly roomy.

Further along the coast from Teignmouth is the traditional seaside town of Dawlish, perfect for families, with its golden beaches and rock pools, all within a short walk from the town centre.

The Sail Loft is a beautiful, four-bedroom character seaside home located in the heart of Teignmouth, yards from the Back Beach, which is part of the Teign estuary where boats bob up and down and big ships come in to offload cargo. The terraced holiday home feels bright, spacious and airy, and offers four large en-suite bedrooms and an extra bathroom. It has a family living room and a kitchen/dining room with a small snug, which is ideal for the kids to enjoy. The house is set on the first and second floor with 13 external steps up to the front door. As you walk through the porch into the hall on your left, you will discover the stylish and homely living room which boasts plenty of plush, comfortable seating for ten guests and a large flatscreen Smart TV on the wall. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed to prepare a home cooked meal, and the dining area provides the perfect space for everyone to get together over breakfast whilst planning an adventurous day ahead. The first floor is completed by an en-suite kingsize bedroom and an additional family shower room. Head upstairs to explore the second floor where you will find the remaining three en-suite bedrooms, one of which has two double beds accommodating up to four guests in the room. The Sail Loft is set on Ivy Lane opposite Teignmouth’s historic coastguard station and cottages, and is also only a couple of minutes’ walk from the town centre and seafront. Teignmouth is a traditional seaside town on the south coast of Devon where the Georgian and Victorian architecture and the steam railway tell of its seaside holiday heritage. You can enjoy traditional fish and chip shops, fine seafood restaurants and a collection of fun attractions. Why not take a ferry to the charming neighbouring village of Shaldon? The train offers easy accessibility to the beautiful city of Exeter, home to an architecturally intricate cathedral and unique shops. - "This cottage was as near to perfect as you could get. Nothing to look at from outside but inside was everything we could wish for. Kitchen and lounge with plenty of room for everyone and four ensuite bedrooms. The location was also spot on, being very close to the sea front and town centre. We did have a slight issue in that there was no hot water upstairs but a phone call at 8.30 on Sunday morning to the owner resulted in two plumbers arriving within the hour to fix the problem. Fantastic service. Thank you."

The Cob Barn is a newly converted two storey detached barn. The ground floor has an open plan kitchen, living, diner, twin bedroom and separate shower room. Upstairs is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

This recently converted barn is situated on our family run, 80-acre farm and campsite, offering views of the River Teign and only a short walk to Shaldon Beach.

Teignmouth is a charming coastal town, renowned for its beautiful beaches, vibrant promenade, and bustling town centre. The space
We moved to this stunning part of the country from London 5 years ago and haven't looked back. Happy to be on hand to offer advice on local schools, work, housing, etc. as well as suggesting days out. Or equally happy to leave you completely alone.

Family friendly: We have 4 children so understand exactly what it's like to travel with little people. We are completely welcoming to children and can provide: toys / books / jigsaws, travel cots (x2), highchairs (x2), stair gates (x2), baby monitor, microwave for sterilising bottles, potty, food processor for mushing up baby food and a garden with swing, small climbing frame and Wendy house to play in.

I'm sorry - no dogs.

Access: There are stairs in the cottage but they are very secure and have a double hand rail. The shower is a walk in shower.

Lounge/diner: We have a large lounge/diner with 3 seater reclining leather settee and arm chair. There are coffee tables and a cupboard full of games and leaflets about the area. We have finished the room off with a basket of toys for our younger visitors, a TV and DVD player. The table seats 6 comfortably.

Kitchen: A brand new, shiny kitchen has been fitted which includes everything you could need: crockery, cutlery, bottle opener, sharp knives, saucepans, frying pans, bin bags, washing up liquid, cleaning products and more.

There is also a brand new dishwasher, cooker with grill and hob, washer/dryer, microwave, small food mixer (ideal for baby food), fridge and freezer.

Bedroom 1: The front bedroom has a king-sized bed and an amazing window with stunning views over the estuary and countryside. There is a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lights. There is plenty of space for a travel cot if needed (we can lend you one). The room is painted white with a fab mustard coloured wall.

The back bedroom: Ideal for kids or more adults - or any combination - there is a triple bunk bed (a double on the bottom and a single on top). We are happy for adults or children to share.

We can also provide some temporary beds for extra kids if you need them, as well as a travel cot (we have 4 kids so understand how much stuff you need!).

Bathroom: Again, a brand new bathroom has been fitted with stunning walk in shower, bath, loo, sink, gorgeous tiled floor and towel rail. A hand towel is provided but not bath towels.

Extras: Tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, cleaning stuff and loo rolls are provided to help you settle in. We are happy to help you arrange day trips, restaurants, food shop deliveries, etc - just send me a message.

Dolphin Cottage, 11 Horse Lane is a cosy cottage in the quaint village of Shaldon and is less than 1 minute walk from the beach, village centre and ferry to Teignmouth.

On arrival at Dolphin Cottage there is a small gated, seating area leading to the front door.

The kitchen is well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge with small freezer compartment.

There is plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses as well as children's plastic crockery and cutlery. Plenty of pots, pans, serving utensils and place mats are provided.

There is a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and first aid kit located in the kitchen.

The kitchen table has 7 chairs.
A high chair is also provided.

The kitchen leads into open plan living room, with 2 comfortable sofas.

Welcome to the Salty, a light filled cottage in the centre of Shaldon. The town beach is a couple of minutes away and the shops, cafes and pubs are a stones throw. Catch the ferry over to Teignmouth for a change of scene or walk over via the bridge.

Shaldon is the perfect place for a taste of beach life; paddle boarding, lounging on the sands and sailing. The nearby Moors beckon for walking and wild life and the town of Totnes isn't far for dipping your toe into bohemian life.

The space
The Salty is set on three floors, the toilet and large shower with underfloor heating on the ground floor. Going up the stairs to the first bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen with its dishwasher, oven and microwave and light filled living area with its gas fire and french doors to sit and check on the tide coming in or out. Go up the second flight of stairs, you will find the second bedroom. The Salty is cosy quaint and unique, please note the stairs are fairly steep.

Whilst there is no garden you will be supplied with a picnic hamper and cool box so you can set up on the beach and carry on until you're ready to wander home.

Positioned in the rabbit warren of streets the Salty has no parking of its own but you can easily unload outside the property and you then have a choice of parking up by the Ness, East Cliff car park (5 minutes away) or just as you come in over the bridge, Lower Point car park. (7 minutes away) Shaldon is small enough to walk everywhere or pop over to Teignmouth by ferry and catch the train to maybe Totnes or Dawlish or even Exeter.
Just remember to pay for the parking (daily).

In the heart of the village on the bowling green, Sanctuary Cottage is a stone’s throw from the beach, pubs/restaurants, shops (fashion, beauty, butcher, bakery), zoo, botanical gardens & walks. There is also a ferry to Teignmouth.

With 2 separate living rooms, it is easy to relax & enjoy games, or settle down to a good book in peace. The well equipped kitchen seats 8. 3 bedrooms (2 can be singles or superkings)

Both patios include outdoor furniture (+ outside shower & WC).

The space
Original 1812 traditional cob cottage fully refurbished in 2023 with modern amenities throughout yet retaining the charm and many original features. Two separate equal sized living rooms one with a log burner, the other with a smart TV.

The kitchen comfortably seats 6 or 8/10 when table extended in a well equipped kitchen with everything you would expect at home.

Three good sized bedrooms with the superking beds being able to be split into 4 single beds if necessary over looking the bowling green. The back bedroom is a spacious double. All rooms have hanging & drawer spaces for your stay.

We often stay here as a family and therefore able to keep it to a standard we would want from a home.

Including 3 bathrooms. Family, ensuite & convenient outdoor beach accessible convenience.

Oyster Cottage is perfectly located on Shaldon green, just 50m from the beach. Local shops, cafes and pubs are also just minutes walk away. The cottage has modern nautical decor, vaulted ceilings, and a gorgeous bathroom with a large walk-in shower. One wow feature is the amazing views from the lounge, dining area and kitchen which are upstairs due to the clever reverse level design. The Old Toll House is a detached, spacious cottage in the quaint seaside village of Shaldon. Unlike many properties in Shaldon it has its own parking space suitable for a large family car. There are 3 bedrooms; 1 kingsize room, 1 double room and 1 room with 2 double beds. The cottage has plenty of space and is newly redecorated and furnished. There is a large, light living room with plenty of seating, as well as a desk. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped and ideal for families and dog owners.

Set over 3 floors, The Old Toll House is newly decorated and thoughtfully equipped to provide a home from home. The house feels light and spacious, and benefits from its own parking space (suitable for a large family car) plus street parking in the locality. The living room is a bright airy room complete with Smart TV and free wi-fi. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and there is 1 king-size room, 1 double room and 1 large room with 2 double beds. The bathroom has a bath and separate large shower. There is an additional cloakroom toilet.

Let as a whole Seascape comes with all the mod cons, free wifi, well equipped kitchen & essential entertainment. Built in 1750's it is a perfect example of old meets new.

Although parking is not included there are many on road options near the property. There is access to the rear of the property via the first floor as well as at the front on ground floor.
