High Oak House is a character, terraced, 300 year old house… It contains a self-catering, second-floor apartment situated in central Ashburton – a stone’s throw away from cafes, bars, boutiques and a good range of local shops, with Dartmoor on the doorstep…

The accommodation is newly appointed, and represents a fusion of ancient and modern – with exposed beams and a thoroughly modern wet room, a roll top bath up on the open-plan mezzanine sleeping platform, and all the conveniences of elegant, comfortable living down below.

The apartment sleeps 5 : a double bedroom, with views of the hills and church spire from the window seat, and an en-suite wet room… with a spare pull out single mattress and bedding provided for a 5th guest. Upstairs there’s a double bed and bathroom on the mezzanine platform. The bathroom has pull round currains on 2 sides to allow privacy . The main living space is open plan, with kitchen, diner and living-room over-lapping, enabling you to combine food and socialising in an easy, intimate atmosphere. Due to the remote nature of Dartmoor, we recommend bringing a car for your stay. There is private parking for up to 2 vehicles. For those that come without a vehicle, the nearest train station is in Totnes which is around a 20 minute drive away. Taxis are available in Totnes and there are fairly frequent bus routes traversing the local area.

The Annexe is a refurbished 18th-century stable building in Ashburton, by Dartmoor National Park. Walk to antique shops, bars, restaurants, pubs, and delis.
There's easy access to South Devon beaches, River Dart, and the beautiful Dartmoor.
The space
Originally the stable building to the main house, the Annexe has been recently refurbished to a high specification, with modern furniture, fixtures and fittings throughout. All the rooms are generous and finished to a high standard

The kitchen-dining room is fully equipped to a high specification, including a Nespresso coffee maker, with a view of the garden, Ashburton and the Moors beyond.
On the first floor, both bedrooms are generously proportioned with high, pitched ceilings, exposing the original roof beams and character of the building. The two bedrooms both have en-suite facilities - Bedroom 1 a bath/ shower and Bedroom 2 a high powered shower only. Both have their own WC. The double beds have high quality, natural mattresses with feather down duvets and pillows.
Although only a few steps to the centre of Ashburton, the Annexe feels secluded and private.
The Annexe sits in the grounds of a stone walled garden, with a private driveway from the street, affording ample and secure off street parking for guests.

A quite and peaceful rural location with stunning views, on the outskirts of Ashburton only 15mins walk into the town centre. I am a dog friendly B&B and can provide guided walks along magical river valleys and across the moors.

I run a dog boarding and walking business so guests do need to be comfortable with dogs as sometimes there are up to 2 dogs including my own

I am open and friendly and have a good knowledge of the area.

Our welcoming family home is the perfect place to stay on the edge of Dartmoor. It is a ten minute walk into the attractive town of Ashburton noted for its cafes, antique and gift shops. The stunning countryside and coastline of Devon is on the doorstep.

The room is attractively furnished in vintage style with an en-suite bathroom with a large shower. There is a brand new fully equipped kitchen attached to the room making it a self-contained unit. There is on-street parking right outside.

The space
The space is perfect for relaxing short breaks, holidays and business trips. As a self contained unit with a kitchen, it is ideal for a self-catering holiday for a couple. It is also a 5 minute walk to the Ashburton Cookery School.

The comfortable room is a mixture of modern and antique furnishings. The room has a large TV and a DVD/Blu-Ray player, together with a selection of DVDs and books for your use. There is also a hair dryer and hangers for clothes.

There is a new kitchen which is off the bedroom and is solely for guests use. It is fully stocked with all kitchen appliances including an oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer and small dishwasher. It also has a kettle, microwave and a toaster. Tea, coffee and herbal tea, along with breakfast cereal, milk and yoghurt and some basics such as cooking oil and condiments will also be provided.

The en-suite bathroom is attractive and spacious and has a powerful shower.

We have a working pottery and offer lessons and unique pottery available to buy.

A beautifully renovated and painted vintage 1960s caravan set in a secluded meadow surrounded by trees, a babbling brook and abundant flora and fauna. The caravan can sleep 2 people in a double bed. There is a picnic table outside with fire pit for chilly evenings. The site is off grid but there is a gas ring in the caravan for making morning tea or coffee and there is also a simple field kitchen for preparing meals. There is a compost toilet and woodland hot water shower.

The space
The meadow is on our smallholding just outside Ashburton and is surrounded by woodland and farmland with a small river running along the boundary. We grow vegetables and flowers which are for sale on a stall at the field gate and also to local restaurants and shops. Ashburton is an easy 15 minute walk down quiet lanes or across fields and has a great variety of shops, cafes and restaurants.

The caravan is off grid to provide a simpler, back-to-nature experience. This means no electricity or electric appliances! There is a gas hob in the caravan and a double gas ring in the field kitchen for making more complicated meals. We can provide a cool box with ice packs for storing perishables.

There is a rechargeable lamp in the caravan and we advise guests to bring torches for moving about the site when it's dark.

We provide all bedding but ask guests to provide their own towels.

This attractive Grade II cottage is in the centre of Ashburton, a stannary town in the Dartmoor National Park; the perfect location for a visit to the Devon countryside. The living/dining room is spacious and the well-equipped kitchen has a large Range cooker and a breakfast area.
Ashburton offers antique shops galore, plus lots of foodie choice with a fantastic deli , an award-winning fish deli and an artisan bakery in the town centre, and there are many traditional friendly pubs close by.

The space
Foales Cottage is ideal for families or groups of friends. Once three cottages, the layout is slightly quirky with two staircases.
From one, there is a double bedroom and shower room; this is kept locked and is not used or available for use during guest's stays. From the other is a double bedroom, a twin room with a pull-out extra bed plus a shower room.

Downstairs is a spacious living room with the dining area tucked away on one side, and a door leading to a cloakroom and separate toilet. The kitchen offers a breakfast bar and seating area for casual dining, and a separate utility room houses a washer/dryer

Please note: There is no outside space as the property is in an alleyway and backs onto another property. This also means that there is no parking at the property, but there is a public car park 1-2 minutes walk from the cottage, which currently costs approx £4 per day. There is also street parking on North Street, subject to availability.

Close to shops, cafes, bars, a community art centre, skate park, public open air pool, and the countryside we offer a two bedroom characterful apartment recently appointed to a high standard with 2 en-suites, a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. A south facing designer's garden carved out of the hillside enjoys views above rooftops to a wooded valley on the hillside opposite and graxzing sheep with BBQ.

Outside and up a steep flight of stone steps, a designer-built garden overlooks the valley opposite, and provides a sun-trap in the afternoons... Visit nearby Exeter, Plymouth, or moorland towns such as Chagford and Moretonhampstead... All you need to move in are clothes and a few toiletries..

Ashburton is a town on the south-eastern edge of Dartmoor, Devon. It was formerly important as a stannary town, and remains the largest town within the national park.

Colourful, quirky and vibrant, it is an ideal place to explore the moors and the beaches of South Devon.

Ashburton has an eclectic mix of independent shops, antique shops, second hand clothes shops and contemporary cafes and restaurants.

May - October there is an open air heated swimming pool and bookable tennis court.

The property consists of a fully equipped and modernised kitchen with outdoor roof terrace, a lounge and dining room all on the first floor.

On the second floor are two spacious double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower and toilet, and a separate bathroom and toilet. The third bedroom has a high quality bunk bed.

A Grand Design. - 60 plus square meters of style boasting great views. The contemporary Larch Barn boasts a spacious open plan kitchen, dining room and living room leading through to a relaxing contemporary King size bedroom with ensuite, incorporating a large rain water shower . With an oak floor, bespoke kitchen and modern furniture, the large windows and doors allow light and a wonderful panoramic aspect to the surrounding fields and orchard below . The orchard is for the guests use and has a fire pit, sun beds and table chairs, picnic rugs and cushions so guests can enjoy the orchard space. Spacex WiFi over 100 megs.
There is NEST controlled central heating so guests can adjust the temperature to suit. We provide crisp white bed linen and the fluffiest towels to boot!

Originally part of a Georgian townhouse, The Old Quarter has been recently refurbished to a high standard and can sleep up to 4 people. Upstairs the bedrooms are spacious and airy, with a calm and happy vibe. There is also a newly fitted bathroom.

Downstairs the spacious and relaxing living room sits across the hall from the kitchen which is well equipped with plenty of storage and ample space for dining. There is a washing machine and separate WC.

Outside the front door is a very useful covered way, large enough for bikes and great for muddy boots and outdoor gear.

There is a small seating area with table and chairs in the courtyard, this gets the morning-early afternoon sun, but perfectly shady for cooling off in the late afternoon and evening.

The ensuites have top of the range Duravit Sanitary ware with Vado rain showers and nook night/pea lights. Both bedrooms are provided with Egyptian cotton bedding with a 300/400 thread count and luxury towels.
Duvets and pillows are feather and down. Allergy free duvets can be provided upon request. Also each bedroom has a smart 44" tv and wi-fi throughout the maisonette. Luxury towels are provided and hairdryers in each bedroom.

The entrance to the Upper School House is from a private driveway with electric security gates. The main entrance opens on to a stairwell and a flight of stairs leading to the entire loft style apartment. The driveway is shared and dogs must be kept on leads.

Welcome to our beautiful farmhouse on the outskirts of the incredibly popular town of Ashburton. We are surrounded by lovely green countryside yet only ten minutes’ walk into town.

The farmhouse is a stunning example of a Devon longhouse and much of the building is more than 500 years old. It has been beautifully designed and decorated inside for twenty first century living, however, and is fully equipped for the needs of a modern family.

The space
This is the first summer we have rented our home out so it has only a few reviews. But you will see from our other property, the Tithe Barn, just how much care and attention we pay as hosts, and how appreciated this is by our customers.

*Please note that our friendly cat will be present during the rental period. She does not sleep upstairs at night, doesn't go out mousing and is very low maintenance. *

Our beautiful home has two principle en-suite bedrooms, a further double, a room with two bunk beds and a study with plenty of space for a cot or fold out floor bed, both of which we can supply. Extra kids/teenagers on fold out beds can be negotiated if needed, but please message us about this first.

We can also provide high chairs, buggies, toys and kids' plates/bowls/cutlery. Unfortunately, however, we no longer have fitted stair gates.

We have a huge kitchen/diner with a separate very large dining room next door, which has a wood burning stove in a Tudor fireplace. There is also a beautiful sitting room with massive sofa and chairs for film nights and relaxing.

Outside the garden is beautiful, with a large table, chairs and full Argentinian barbeque on the terrace outside the kitchen, which receives sun from late morning until well into the evening. You are welcome to use our fields. There are swings, a slide and a ground-level large trampoline in the garden, plus a giant tree swing, slide and den at the top of the larger field. The views from up there are lovely.

You are welcome to dig up potatoes from our vegetable garden and help yourself to whatever delicious fruit is in season in the fruitcage.

Due to very strict insurance regs we are afraid it is not possible to have a bonfire or firepit in the field but you are welcome to camp out with your kids one night if you like - we often do and it’s a fantastic adventure with a chorus of owls in the trees.

The property is five minutes’ drive from beautiful Dartmoor and three minutes’ drive from one of the best wild swimming spots in the UK, a private stretch of the Dart available only to people living and staying in Ashburton. The nearest beach, Mothecombe, is thirty minutes away and it’s stunning.

Ashburton is bustling and vibrant with a renowned foodie scene, led by Emilia, Rafikis, Le Vin Perdu and The Old Library, supported by an excellent butcher, artisan baker, whole foods shop, quality deli, fish deli, and greengrocer and wine bar. There are many beautiful shops and galleries - don't miss the two Craftmonger shops - and the arts centre holds musical/cultural events most nights. We have a lovely yoga studio, Spirit Ash, and two excellent complementary therapy businesses, Yellow Door and The Haven, should you want to organise a massage or other treat. There is also an excellent beauty salon, Kerry Bartlet Beauty.

We love living in this very special part of the world and really do believe we have it all here - the moor, the sea and an excellent town. It’s a perfect place for a holiday.

Please note that our furnished holiday let, The Tithe Barn, will also have guests as normal during the period we are renting our farmhouse out.

The two buildings, while close, are cleverly arranged so that each property feels entirely private and does not overlook any windows, gardens or other spaces. Neither property ever overhears the other.

Please note that our cat will be present during the rental period. She is shorthaired, friendly and low-maintenance. She is incapable of catching rodents so you don't need to worry about finding a mouse on the rug!

The School House is part of a historic Victorian School House which has been converted in 2023 to a fabulous high spec 3 bedroomed House. It has 3 ensuite luxury bathrooms, one with a spa bath. Underfloor heating, heat recovery ventilation and porcelain floor throughout . A well equipped luxury kitchen and open plan lounge diner with a 50 " TV . Superb location within hopping distance to wine bar, pubs, art centre and shops. The Moor is a 5 mins drive and beach a 20 minute drive.

The space
The entrance from the porch opens into the open plan kitchen / diner. The Luxury kitchen with granite work top has all top of the range AEG appliances from induction hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. It is well equipped with Denby 1809 crockery. The dining room has an oak refectory table, seating 6 which leads to the lounge with a vaulted ceiling and chandelier.

An oak double staircase with lighting feature leads to bedrooms 1 and bedroom 2. Both bedrooms 1 and 2 have Super King Size beds which can be converted to twin beds upon request. Bedroom one, the master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with spa bath and separate rain shower. All sanitary and bathroom fittings are high spec. The bedroom has a bespoke wardrobe and original floor to ceiling french windows with a Juliet safety glass screen. An electric black out blind is discreetly fitted behind linen airy curtains.

Bedroom two has an extra long (6'6") Super King Bed. The bedroom has been furnished in a classic design to complement the building. The bedroom features a floor to ceiling sash window with Juliet safety glass. The ensuite luxury bathroom has a Duravit Double sink , an extra large Kudos shower and heated towel rail. ​ All bedrooms are provided with Egyptian cotton bedding with a 300/400 thread count and feather and duck duvets and pillows. Allergy free duvets can be available upon request. Both bedrooms have smart 44" televisions. All bedrooms have hair dryers.

On the ground floor is bedroom 3, which has been discreetly designed as an accessible bedroom and wet room. Lighting has been designed with a back lit headboard and reading lights on either side. Blinds are electric. A 44" smart tv is nestled opposite the bed. There is ample space for a wheel chair and for a hoist to be placed under the bed. The ensuite bathroom has a sliding door with discreet grab handle bars for the toilet, shower and sink. The wet room shower has a moveable chair (provided upon request). Also on the ground floor is a separate cloakroom and utility room with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities.

Guests at the School House can enjoy the village green and play park directly opposite the School House to walk their dogs. . One or two well behaved dogs are welcome with prior arrangement for which there is an additional charge.

A Tuscan courtyard with round terracotta table seatis12 and barbecue. Great for family gatherings, retreats and holidays.

The space
The Meeting House has a luscious historic charm about it having been recently sympathetically restored and furnished to a high standard giving it a homely and embracing feel. This elegant Georgian property is everything you could ask for that perfect holiday. Big enough to sleep 10 people in five lovely spacious bedrooms. The Meeting House is aptly named because the house is very sociable. Well Behaved Dogs are accepted at £ 10 pounds per dog with prior arrangement . Max of 2 dogs - house trained dogs only.

As you enter the property, the oak panelled hallway leads through to an open lounge area with stunning original oak beams, original inglenook granite fireplace with wood burning stove and comfy leather & plush velvet arm chairs and sofa.

The large country kitchen is fully equipped with Denby Juice crockery. It has a French Godin range (comprises hot plate warmer, electric oven, gas oven and gas hob). and Double Neff oven; an American ice dispensing Fridge freezer, the kitchen also features a double Belfast sink and a vintage pine larder cupboard which stores a collection of colourful Denby Juice crockery. A variety of stainless steel saucepans and cooking utensils provided .

A secondary staircase leads you to the spacious 400sqft entertainments/games room with wood burner that has a lofted ceiling, a 65" smart HD TV, with three large squidgy leather sofas.

The Jacobean panelled dining room is a beautifully furnished room ready for a banquet.

On the first floor is bedroom 1, the Master Super king bedroom, a light and airy 400sq ft room featuring a vaulted beamed ceiling and a unique glass floor that can be covered by a rug for privacy. The bedroom is linked via a dressing room to a large bathroom with a Double Jacuzzi Spa Bath and separate power shower.

Also on the first floor is bedroom 2 and bedroom 3 . The two separate bedrooms can be linked via a 3 panelled oak door to form a family bedroom. Bedroom 2 has a double brass Bed knobs and broomsticks Victorian bed and has the benefit of a 44" Smart TV. Bedroom 3 is a twin bedroom. Both bedrooms 2 and 3 are linked with an oak panel door and can create one large family bedroom. Both bedrooms have an adjacent family bathroom.

On the second floor are two further double bedrooms: Bedrooms four and 5. Bedroom 4 is 350 sq ft with armchairs and a 44" smart HD TV with Sleigh double bed. Bedroom 5 is a cozy double bed with en suite and is accessible via bedroom 4.

All bedding is Egyptian cotton 300/400 thread count. Towels and hairdryers provided .

Guest access
Parking is available (3mins) at Market Close car park with prior arrangement. Details of vehicle registration must be given 24 hours prior to arrival. There is limited free parking outside the property and free street parking further along North Street. There is also a long/short stay (pay and display) car park 100 yards away charged at £4.00 for 24hours.

Bikes and surfboards can be kept in the courtyard, access available from adjacent driveway.

Check in is after 4.00 pm. and Adrian & Jenna can be available to meet you by prior arrangement.

Check out by 10.00 am. on departure day.

Other things to note
At Ashburtons Luxury Lets there are two other properties close by. Noise in the courtyard after 10pm will disturb other guests staying nearby. We would ask visitors to be respectful to them.
