Located along the iconic Great Ocean Road within the Cumberland Resort in Lorne, A107 is a non smoking, self contained, pet friendly and wheelchair friendly two bedroom apartment with discrete mobility friendly aids throughout. Before we get started, I want you to know I do not have internet no matter if you look at Stayz or Vrbo or Homeaway. Its a glitch in the site!
Goose Crossing has been accommodating people and dogs since the early 90's. We choose to take dogs because we love them ourselves. Goose Crossing is a small studio (4.5 x 3.5 meters) only for single or two people and maximum two very small dogs or one medium dog. You must disclose that you have a dog coming with you.
The studio is in the village of Lorne situated in a quiet garden setting where a few parrots and roos can get quite friendly. The deck (4.5 × 3.5 meters) along a small pocket of garden are fenced together for your dog. Fencing is 4 foot high. . Even though the studio is small it has all your conveniences... a small kitchenette, heating/air conditioning, queen bed, TV, DVD, (no internet) and a BBQ and deck furniture. The main street and foreshore of the town is only a 15-minute walk down the hill. We have a great dog beach which is 24/7 all year round.. Our studio is built with second hand materials and furnished in a similar way. Modern we are not! Check in and check out times are fairly flexible. Generally, we say 1 pm check in and check out 10:00. Times can go either way, depending on the comings/goings of other guest. Goose Crossing is a perfect getaway for you and your dog for a short stay(and not breaking the bank).
There are an assortment of rules for your dog, but they are reasonable.
1. Not on furniture
2. Pick up all doggie poos and dispose of in garbage bins outside
3 .Dogs allowed inside but not left alone inside if going out.
4.. Dogs must have a toilet break before they come in the studio for the first time. (Dogs do like to leave their mark on new places even well-trained dogs)
6. You MUST disclose you have a dog/s and what breed. If not, I can refuse to rent to you.
People rules:
1. Air-conditioned/heating appliance is not to be left on when you have left the premises. It only takes a few minutes to heat or cool this studio..
2. Please don't leave the outside light on all night. It shines into the neighbour's windows.
3. I do not have charging facilities for cars. Call the Lorne Info Center for this information, Ph 5289115
4. Please do not leave your electric appliances charging when you go out and about away from the studio and also all night when you are sleeping.

Directions: Turn right on to Williams Street off the Great Ocean Road known as Mt. Joy Parade. Driving up Williams, take your 3rd left. (at the top of the hill) Drive about 60 feet (18.29 metres) and take your first right, which is Babington Lane and a 'no through road'. This short road (at the end) will take you veering slightly left to face a building where you cannot go any farther. Park on the right of the building facing you. The studio will be at the back right corner of the building, with a sign saying 'Goose Crossing' and steps leading up on to the deck. Come in and make yourselves at home (it will be open for you) and we will catch up to you at some stage.

We would walk down to the pier that was a 5 minute walk, if that, and the kids loved it. Rock pools were around the corner, not far away at all, and fun for the kids. Be aware if you have small children that there are some ornaments that need to be put up high, so little fingers cannot grab them and play! You're told before you stay that the apartment building is quiet and you must be quiet. We found the apartment next door quite noisy at night when they watched movies and you could hear the thump of the TV sound. Luckily bedrooms are not against the shared wall, so our children were not disturbed at night. Would be nice if you were given a bit more information about the process of entering the apartment, ie. Once you're parked underneath, look for the door with the apartment number and take the stairs. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and recommend staying here."

The garden is large and requires gardeners who are active on the property, if they are scheduled to visit we will inform you. At times Caretakers live or are close by to the property and we will advise if they are scheduled to visit.

The space
There is one luxury bedroom that has a plush handmade solid wood Queen bed with luxury linen, a dresser, wardrobe and stunning leather couch with soft luxurious cushions.

There is everything you could want to feel spoilt and have a romantic farm escape. If you’re a couple or travelling solo, the Cabin is the perfect haven to experience seclusion and privacy.

The property has beautiful gentle slopes that lead into deep tree fern gullies and over years we developed an extensive landscape of European and Australian native plants, shrubs and trees, which is ever changing with the seasons.

The farm garden has now matured. You will find an abundance of fresh herbs, seasonal fruits, foliage and flowers, which are picked annually and are grown using organic practices.

We hope that others will get as much enjoyment out of experiencing The Cabin as we have had creating this special place.

- Please report if there happens to be any damages. Damages are to be paid for by guests.
- Lots of native animals birds, kangaroos, koala’s, kookaburras and many more. So please respect them, we recommend not disturbing them.

Kangaroos live in the area, the big greys, you will see them mostly dawn and dusk. They will be active on the property so don't be afraid, do not approach them.

It is important to understand this property is a holiday rental, not a shared space or principle place of residence, which ensures you privacy and quiet enjoyment. It is also professionally managed, giving you peace of mind of 24/7 support by a local, just around the corner.

Pricing is based around seasons, length of stay and number of guests. It is important all bookings reflect the exact number of guests. If this changes, you must contact us. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the published rates across all booking platforms, however Great Ocean Road Real Estate Holidays reserves the right to correct pricing errors.

Unless otherwise previously agreed, all stays must only be used for private residential usage and to accommodate the number of guests stated on your booking. Unless ‘Pets Welcome’ is advertised, the property is strictly no pets.

All holiday accommodation bookings are accepted on the basis that all occupants will treat the property with the same respect as their own home in accordance with the “House Rules”. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.

Studio apartment in the centre of Lorne. Conveniently located near shops, restaurants, bars, and the beach. Comfortably furnished for weekend visitors and travellers. It has its own parking.

The space
Known locally as the Beach Boxes our studio is in a small, quiet complex for both permanent use and holiday guests. The bedroom is on the mezzanine level along with the bathroom. There are stairs both up to the studio and to mezzanine.

Guest access
Car park space is onsite. Once you’ve arrived you only need your car for a few attractions, most places are within walking distance.

Other things to note
There is no wifi at the studio. There is access at the Tourist Information and also at the Community Centre. Both are just opposite the complex.
Whilst check in is flexible (key safe on site) the preferred check in time is 3pm. This is to enable us to comply with Covid Safe cleaning practices between guests.

Walking distance to just about everything Lorne has to offer; longest being 40 minutes away to Live Wire Park and Qdos Gallery Cafe; It is hilly so be prepared. The beach is a mere 10 minute stroll.
You can even commute by public transport.
Lorne is a wonderful coastal surf town with even a golf course and tennis courts.

The space
The sofa bed / double / single bed is ok (it did win an award for design) to use for the kids or adults that don't mind the sofa bed experience, however you'll need to bring YOUR OWN bedding for them (sleeping bags / pillow is often the best solution) Bedding is provided for the upstairs mezzanine Queen size bed only.

Everything is accessible except for the locked storage area under the stairs and the Murphy (wall) bunk bed in the lounge for safety reasons (waiting on Australian Safety Standards Cert. from manufacturer - The sofa bed / double / single bed is ok to use for the kids or adults that don't mind the sofa bed experience, however you'll need to bring YOUR OWN bedding for them (sleeping bags / pillows is often the best solution) Bedding is provided for the upstairs mezzanine Queen size bed only. The parking bay is directly beneath the apartment.

Other things to note
You'll notice that there are some public BBQ's in the area - The BBQ's near the Surf Life Saving Club towards the pier get used often and offer outstanding beach views, but there is also a public BBQ when entering Lorne across the road bridge on the right.

Light, airy home nestled in the hills of Lorne. Look out at the ocean, or onto Queens Park where kangaroos often graze. Guests have a garden bench to sit on outside and enjoy the view.

The space
This is a studio-style space. Lounge and dining are one space, including small food prep area with a microwave, kettle, toaster and bar fridge, but no oven, cooktop or freezer, or sink (there is a sink in the bathroom, of course).

The lounge features a comfy couch, smart tv where you can access your Netflix or Stan accounts, as well as watch free to air TV, YouTube, or our selection of DVDs. There is also a Bluetooth UE Boom speaker, and a selection of books, magazines and board games for you to enjoy.

The space has heaters to keep you toasty in winter and stays very cool in summer, with a floor fan provided in the warmer months for those extra hot nights.

Check in and check out are flexible - send me a message and if I can accomodate you, I will!

Things You Might Find Annoying:
- There is only a thin shutter door between living areas and bedroom so there is no effective soundproofing between these two spaces. All the beds are in one room.
- There is a big flight of stairs required to access the apartment - the space may be difficult to access for those with limited mobility, and children must be supervised at all times.
- There is not a full kitchen, only a microwave, toaster, kettle, and mini fridge.

Guest access
You will have access to a combined living/dining area with kitchenette, bathroom with shower, and bedroom with a queen bed and a set of bunk beds.

Other things to note
Please note we are up a steep hill and the driveway is also steep, plus there are stairs to navigate to the front door. Unfortunately this house is not accessible for people with limited mobility. The house has a small hot water service so please keep showers short.

Guests bringing children please note there are lots of stairs which may not be safe for younger children

Go to sleep listening to the ocean, wake to lush gardens and ocean views and if you are an early bird you can watch the sunrise.
Stroll along the beach, walk through the Great Otway National Park to beautiful waterfalls, and dine at Lorne's famous cafes and restaurants.

The space
Our home is on two levels, we live upstairs and guests have exclusive access to the apartment downstairs.
The apartment is self contained with a queen size bed, bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
There is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, sandwich press and tea and coffee making facilities. (please note no hotplates/oven).
There is a TV/DVD player, CD/radio player and a comfy couch and dining table and chairs.
It's a great space to just sit and relax.
You are welcome to explore the back garden and use the BBQ, table and chairs, it is very pleasant spot to sit and feels a little like you are in the bush. On odd occasions you can see kangaroos and echidna and native birds, a few times we have seen Koalas, unfortunately we can't predict when they will appear.
The apartment is very peaceful, has ocean and garden views and is walking distance to the beach and bush.
It is a great spot to use as a base to explore the Great Ocean Road.

Lorne is a very popular beach tourist resort town, located on one of Australia's most scenic coastal routes, the Great Ocean Road, between Aireys Inlet and Wye River.

Cafes and boutiques line the main foreshore, creating a Mediterranean feel to the area.
Lorne's wide foreshore area extends from the shops on down to the patrolled sandy beach areas.
Further south at Point Grey is the jetty where the annual Lorne Pier to Pub open water swim is held, attracting national interest.
Sheltered swimming is available at the mouth of the Erskine River where a long suspension bridge crosses this waterway and the sandy beach below.
Good views of the area can be enjoyed from Teddys Lookout, at the southern end of George Street.
The upper and lower lookouts offer views inland as well as south along the coast and down to the point where the Great Ocean Road crosses the St George River at its mouth.
Views of the town and its main beach can be experienced from several of the picnic spots along the Great Ocean Road between the Surf Life Saving Club and Point Grey.

If we are not home, access can be arranged via a mechanical push button key safe with a pin code.
Guests have sole access to the apartment.
The main home is private and not accessible.

Other things to note
We are located 2km from the Lorne Visitor's Centre which is the start of the shopping precinct. The walk is not strenuous, you can walk in along the beach or there are a couple of different paths you can take.
Driving or taxi are options.
Parking in town can be difficult when it is super busy, however you can usually park in a side street or you can park on the roadside towards the pier.

Not suitable for more than a few nights as there is no kitchen, unless you are lucky enough to dine out every night! There is a full fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, electric frypan and small portable oven. There is a large tub for washing dishes.

Unfortunately NOT SUITABLE for infants and toddlers and pets for various reasons.

The space
This room is at the ocean end of the complex has lovely views of the ocean and is perfect for guests of all ages and mobilities. The studio is large, light filled, open plan and uniquely decorated to create a modern and relaxing vibe. The wall to floor glass sliding doors open out to a ground floor terrace garden and outdoor lounges where you can relax and take in the landscaped garden and spectacular views of the water.

The Garden Terrace Studio has a walk-in shower, is located on the ground floor and may be suitable for guests with accessibility requirements. Please contact us for further information about accessibility.

Parking
There is ample free parking at Lorne Surf Apartments. We recommend checking out the town on foot or on a bike but if you want to get out of town and check out the sites like the Great Ocean Road or the Otways the best way to do this is by car or by the VLine bus service that travels up and down the coastline a few times a day. Guests will have access to the entire studio. Check-in and access details are sent directly to guest either via their mobile phones or email addresses on the day of their reservation.

Access to the Hotel is off Howard St Lorne. There is ample free parking at Lorne Surf Apartments.

Chatby Apartments have been designed as an COUPLES OR SINGLES retreat. The facilities do no have the appropriate safety features and gating for children

COVID-19 UPDATE

Our cleaners will be cleaning the Beachbox according to Department of Health Covid-19 Guidelines. This entails fully sanitising all surfaces, handles and switches on top of our normal clean. Unfortunately this means we have had to temporarily increase our cleaning price to cover the additional costs.

The Studio is a small French inspired apartment attached to a private dwelling in Lorne. The private secluded cottage garden attracts plenty of sun throughout the day, with wildlife in abundance, including koalas, parrots, kookaburras, and the occasional wallaby. We are a short walk to Teddys Lookout, the St.George river walk, the stunning beaches, as well as the renowned cafes and restaurants of Lorne.

The space
The unit is fitted with a queen size bed, an ensuite, kitchenette and an outdoor patio area.
This is the perfect place to stay while enjoying Lorne beautiful attractions, surrounded by the stunning Otway National park, secluded beaches and the many waterfalls in the area make for a wonderful day out, the Twelve Apostles are also an easily accessible day trip. It’s an ideal base for a night or two if you’re travelling on a longer adventure along the coast, or just stay here for as long as you like and enjoy this magical area.

The Studio is semi detached from the main house and guests have their own private entrance and garden area. Access instructions will be given prior to your arrival. It is connected to the main house so there is some low level noise but we are very considerate of our guests comfort.

Other things to note
If you arrive after dark you will need a torch as it’s a short walk down the drive before the sensor lights on the house and studio turn on.
