Located along the iconic Great Ocean Road within the Cumberland Resort in Lorne, A107 is a non smoking, self contained, pet friendly and wheelchair friendly two bedroom apartment with discrete mobility friendly aids throughout. It is ideal for families with small children as well as those who require some extra assistance. With an amazing large balcony which looks over Louttit Bay, you can relax and enjoy brekkie, coffee or a drink at the end of the day while watching the world go by.

Guests are welcome to use all of the resorts facilities, indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, tennis and squash courts, games room, gardens and BBQ area. All of Lorne’s attractions are only a short walk, Main Beach, shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.

The apartment is close to a golf course and on the waterfront. Before we get started, I want you to know I do not have internet no matter if you look at Stayz or Vrbo or Homeaway. Its a glitch in the site!
Goose Crossing has been accommodating people and dogs since the early 90's. We choose to take dogs because we love them ourselves. Goose Crossing is a small studio (4.5 x 3.5 meters) only for single or two people and maximum two very small dogs or one medium dog. You must disclose that you have a dog coming with you.
The studio is in the village of Lorne situated in a quiet garden setting where a few parrots and roos can get quite friendly. The deck (4.5 × 3.5 meters) along a small pocket of garden are fenced together for your dog. Fencing is 4 foot high. . Even though the studio is small it has all your conveniences... a small kitchenette, heating/air conditioning, queen bed, TV, DVD, (no internet) and a BBQ and deck furniture. The main street and foreshore of the town is only a 15-minute walk down the hill. We have a great dog beach which is 24/7 all year round.. Our studio is built with second hand materials and furnished in a similar way. Modern we are not! Check in and check out times are fairly flexible. Generally, we say 1 pm check in and check out 10:00. Times can go either way, depending on the comings/goings of other guest. Goose Crossing is a perfect getaway for you and your dog for a short stay(and not breaking the bank).
There are an assortment of rules for your dog, but they are reasonable.
1. Not on furniture
2. Pick up all doggie poos and dispose of in garbage bins outside
3 .Dogs allowed inside but not left alone inside if going out.
4.. Dogs must have a toilet break before they come in the studio for the first time. (Dogs do like to leave their mark on new places even well-trained dogs)
6. You MUST disclose you have a dog/s and what breed. If not, I can refuse to rent to you.
People rules:
1. Air-conditioned/heating appliance is not to be left on when you have left the premises. It only takes a few minutes to heat or cool this studio..
2. Please don't leave the outside light on all night. It shines into the neighbour's windows.
3. I do not have charging facilities for cars. Call the Lorne Info Center for this information, Ph 5289115
4. Please do not leave your electric appliances charging when you go out and about away from the studio and also all night when you are sleeping.
5. We are a 'no party' policy (big or small)
Directions: Turn right on to Williams Street off the Great Ocean Road known as Mt. Joy Parade. Driving up Williams, take your 3rd left. (at the top of the hill) Drive about 60 feet (18.29 metres) and take your first right, which is Babington Lane and a 'no through road'. This short road (at the end) will take you veering slightly left to face a building where you cannot go any farther. Park on the right of the building facing you. The studio will be at the back right corner of the building, with a sign saying 'Goose Crossing' and steps leading up on to the deck. Come in and make yourselves at home (it will be open for you) and we will catch up to you at some stage.

You're told before you stay that the apartment building is quiet and you must be quiet. We found the apartment next door quite noisy at night when they watched movies and you could hear the thump of the TV sound. Luckily bedrooms are not against the shared wall, so our children were not disturbed at night. Would be nice if you were given a bit more information about the process of entering the apartment, ie. Once you're parked underneath, look for the door with the apartment number and take the stairs. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and recommend staying here."

Known locally as the Beach Boxes our studio is in a small, quiet complex for both permanent use and holiday guests. The bedroom is on the mezzanine level along with the bathroom. There are stairs both up to the studio and to mezzanine.

Car park space is onsite. Once you’ve arrived you only need your car for a few attractions, most places are within walking distance.

Other things to note
There is no wifi at the studio. There is access at the Tourist Information and also at the Community Centre. Both are just opposite the complex.
Whilst check in is flexible (key safe on site) the preferred check in time is 3pm. This is to enable us to comply with Covid Safe cleaning practices between guests.

You can even commute by public transport.
Lorne is a wonderful coastal surf town with even a golf course and tennis courts.

The space
The sofa bed / double / single bed is ok (it did win an award for design) to use for the kids or adults that don't mind the sofa bed experience, however you'll need to bring YOUR OWN bedding for them (sleeping bags / pillow is often the best solution) Bedding is provided for the upstairs mezzanine Queen size bed only.

Everything is accessible except for the locked storage area under the stairs and the Murphy (wall) bunk bed in the lounge for safety reasons (waiting on Australian Safety Standards Cert. from manufacturer - The sofa bed / double / single bed is ok to use for the kids or adults that don't mind the sofa bed experience, however you'll need to bring YOUR OWN bedding for them (sleeping bags / pillows is often the best solution) Bedding is provided for the upstairs mezzanine Queen size bed only. You'll notice that there are some public BBQ's in the area - The BBQ's near the Surf Life Saving Club towards the pier get used often and offer outstanding beach views, but there is also a public BBQ when entering Lorne across the road bridge on the right.

Stroll along the beach, walk through the Great Otway National Park to beautiful waterfalls, and dine at Lorne's famous cafes and restaurants.

The space
Our home is on two levels, we live upstairs and guests have exclusive access to the apartment downstairs.
The apartment is self contained with a queen size bed, bathroom with shower, toilet and basin.
There is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, sandwich press and tea and coffee making facilities. (please note no hotplates/oven).
There is a TV/DVD player, CD/radio player and a comfy couch and dining table and chairs.
It's a great space to just sit and relax.
You are welcome to explore the back garden and use the BBQ, table and chairs, it is very pleasant spot to sit and feels a little like you are in the bush. On odd occasions you can see kangaroos and echidna and native birds, a few times we have seen Koalas, unfortunately we can't predict when they will appear.
The apartment is very peaceful, has ocean and garden views and is walking distance to the beach and bush.
It is a great spot to use as a base to explore the Great Ocean Road.

Lorne is a very popular beach tourist resort town, located on one of Australia's most scenic coastal routes, the Great Ocean Road, between Aireys Inlet and Wye River.

Cafes and boutiques line the main foreshore, creating a Mediterranean feel to the area.
Lorne's wide foreshore area extends from the shops on down to the patrolled sandy beach areas.
Further south at Point Grey is the jetty where the annual Lorne Pier to Pub open water swim is held, attracting national interest.
Sheltered swimming is available at the mouth of the Erskine River where a long suspension bridge crosses this waterway and the sandy beach below.
Good views of the area can be enjoyed from Teddys Lookout, at the southern end of George Street.
The upper and lower lookouts offer views inland as well as south along the coast and down to the point where the Great Ocean Road crosses the St George River at its mouth.
Views of the town and its main beach can be experienced from several of the picnic spots along the Great Ocean Road between the Surf Life Saving Club and Point Grey.

Other things to note
We are located 2km from the Lorne Visitor's Centre which is the start of the shopping precinct. The walk is not strenuous, you can walk in along the beach or there are a couple of different paths you can take.
Driving or taxi are options.
Parking in town can be difficult when it is super busy, however you can usually park in a side street or you can park on the roadside towards the pier.

Parking
There is ample free parking at Lorne Surf Apartments. We recommend checking out the town on foot or on a bike but if you want to get out of town and check out the sites like the Great Ocean Road or the Otways the best way to do this is by car or by the VLine bus service that travels up and down the coastline a few times a day. Check out the Lorne Visitor Information website or more details.

Guests will have access to the entire studio. Check-in and access details are sent directly to guest either via their mobile phones or email addresses on the day of their reservation.

Access to the Hotel is off Howard St Lorne. There is ample free parking at Lorne Surf Apartments.

This is the perfect place to stay while enjoying Lorne beautiful attractions, surrounded by the stunning Otway National park, secluded beaches and the many waterfalls in the area make for a wonderful day out, the Twelve Apostles are also an easily accessible day trip. It’s an ideal base for a night or two if you’re travelling on a longer adventure along the coast, or just stay here for as long as you like and enjoy this magical area.

The Studio is semi detached from the main house and guests have their own private entrance and garden area. Access instructions will be given prior to your arrival. It is connected to the main house so there is some low level noise but we are very considerate of our guests comfort.
