- "Blue Bollards was a comfortable house in Apollo Bay, where we stayed for one night. The owners had prepared the fireplace for us, so all we had to do was light the match for a cozy night on the couch. It was chilly in the morning, but their additional electric heater did a great job of warming us up quickly. The bed was comfortable but the mattress rolled outwards a little. It’s not near the beach but the neighbourhood is perfectly nice. The house had a really nice feel - lovely artwork, cushions and blankets, a pretty garden out front and back, kitchen was excellent, and the owners left us a good information booklet on arrival. Thanks for a lovely stay!"

It is very easy to navigate around the Apollo Bay region by car and plentiful parking in town. The Apollo Bay to Colac bus departs every Wednesday and a daily return service from Apollo Bay to Melbourne via Geelong (bus to Geelong followed by Vline train to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne). The Vline bus from Geelong to Apollo Bay includes a stop at Skenes Creek. Marengo is about a 25 minute walk or short taxi ride from the centre of town. Hordern Vale is a bit further along the Great Ocean Road and easier to access by car. It is possible to get there via tax also. The Apollo Bay Taxi is also available on 0400 229 222.
