This awesome Beach Pad couldn't be closer to the sand and surf of stunning Mawgan Porth Beach, being set just across the winding coastal road. The family-and-dog-friendly cove sits in the valley between the quaint fishing town of Padstow, famed for Rick Stein's restaurants and world renowned Newquay, home of the UK's biggest waves. It's also just a stone's throw from Watergate Bay, a good base from which to learn to surf or explore Cornwall's other treasures such as the Minack Theatre and the Eden Project.

The apartment itself is laden with everything you need to make your holiday a fabulously easy one, with on-site parking, amazing sea views, TV, DVD player, WiFi, central heating, all linen and towels.

Communication with the owners was very straightforward and easy and they were very helpful when we had to unexpectedly stay an extra night due to some of our party being taken ill. Our beach-side hideaway has breathtaking views over the stunning sandy beach of Mawgan Porth on the North Cornwall Coast. The modern south facing two bedroom apartment has a large open plan living area which opens out on to the terrace and communal lawn overlooking the beach.

A two minute walk from the front door and down the sandy path through the dunes takes you to the epic beach or South West coast path. Three minutes walk the other way past the pitch and putt golf course takes you to the shops, places to eat and pub in the village centre.

Mawgan Porth is a family friendly cove, located on the rugged stretch of coastline between Padstow and Watergate Bay. Popular with surfers, families and outdoor explorers, the location is a great base for exploring the Seven Bays coastline and other Cornish gems such as the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Minack Theatre, Padstow and Bedruthen Steps. The village has a pub, seafood restaurant, deli and shops, takeaways and surf school.

3 White Lodge is a contemporary two bedroom home, on the ground floor of a small sea front block of apartments. Our little family business is called Coast Hideaways - we've refurbished, designed and look after our special places by the sea in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall and The New Forest.

Inside the apartment there’s everything you need for an easy break away including TV with free Netflix, free WiFi, towels and linen, central heating and a dishwasher. Outside there’s an allocated parking space and lockable storage for surfboards and wetsuits.

The open plan living space has double doors leading out to your own patio and the communal lawn with views over the beach and headland. There’s a comfy corner sofa and a dining area with a table for four.

The good sized kitchen has everything you need for a change from the nearby restaurants and cafes including a dishwasher, full size fridge freezer and washing-drying machine.

Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed with a pocket sprung mattress and crisp cotton sheets. There’s hanging space and a chest of drawers.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds. We also have a travel cot and high chair if required - please let us know on booking.

The modern family bathroom has a bath with shower over.

We welcome families. Sorry, but we can't accept pets - it's a condition of the lease for all of the apartments in the building.

- "Style over substance? It may have the wow factor when you pull up, but once you enter, for us, it was poorly designed and styled, as no thought seems to have gone into the type of people who are going to stay i.e families who love the beach and sea. Unfortunately it is not practical beach holiday accommodation. Perhaps we are too picky, as we have been fortunate enough to stay in a number of luxury beach holiday lets, and know that attention to detail and taking the care and time to look at your potential market is key and makes all the difference. Sometimes it’s the small things that make the difference. Negatives: -was not clean when we arrived and we had to wait 1 1/2 hrs over the allocated arrival time and still it wasn’t clean (cleaners turned up at 2.30 to clean house and change the bed linen - check in time was 4.00!) and this was when it was supposed to have a deep clean due to COVID! -2 slice toaster for house that sleeps 8? should really be 4 slice toaster -Should have at least two televisions - not everyone wants to watch the same things (kids and adults) another should be in the master bedroom. -NO storage for beach gear I.e surf/body/paddle boards so although house is near the beach it is not beach friendly!!!! -master en-suite is too small you nearly dislocate your arm trying to get to the toilet roll! -no dressing table/mirror to sit at and dry/straighten your hair or put makeup on in the master bedroom (ideal space in master bedroom would be in the small alcove next to the en-suite) -blind next to entrance door would be good as can see when someone uses the main bathroom -master bedroom blinds have gaps in between so you are woken by the morning sun and not very private! (Especially from accommodation opposite - also can’t really sit in bed with blinds open unless you don’t mind being looked at!) -no parasol for shade on raised patio -storage or a cover needed for rattan cushions if rains -soundproofing is awful - in ground floor bedrooms you can hear EVERY sound from upstairs. From putting your mug on the coffee table to walking across the floor. -rooms are also extremely echoey -no hanging space for long dresses -small dog bed in front of fire but no dogs allowed? Positives : -Location to beach -showers are excellent -sofa is amazing and very comfortable -sun trap patio area (although no parasol) Would we stay here again? No Would we recommend? No Value for money? No"

The second bedroom is a very private room at the other end of the house with a super-king sized bed and an en-suite bathroom including a large walk in en suite shower room. All the windows from this bedroom open onto the deck where there is a roll top bath.

Third bedroom or the 'Garden room' is a separate building. It has a superking sized bed and ensuite bathroom with patio style doors opening onto the sand. This room also has a mini fridge and kettle, but unfortunately no wifi.

All rooms have central heating and are equipped with hairdryers, extra blankets, and hot water bottles. We provide house towels only so recommend you bring your own beach towels.

The living and kitchen area is bright and light with skylights and three French windows, all open directly onto a secluded and private deck. The living space is dominated by a very large L-shaped coach which features a glass fronted wood burner, and flat screen smart TV.

The mezzanine area can also be used to sleep small adults, or children by prior arrangement only and at an additional cost. Please see T&Cs for more details.

The kitchen is modern with all appliances, gas hob, electric oven. A separate utility room holds additional fridge and freezer space, washer, dryer and a small office space. All the doors open onto the deck, sun loungers, a bench, an eating area with tables and chairs, sun umbrella and large bar-b-q area. The house is south facing and tucked neatly out of the wind. The higher garden area is large enough to enjoy beach volley ball or football in the sand. It also features a step accessed "lookout" with great views of the sea and sunsets. Guests have access through a private gate leading on to the beach.

Outside Grounds
The outdoor space features a roll-top bath tub on the decking, an outdoor shower, a large al-fresco dining room table, sun umbrella, chairs, a barbecue and sun loungers.

The higher garden area features a look out with sea views, perfect for a watching the sunset, and an area for beach style football & volley ball. Guests have direct access through a private gated path leading through the sand dunes and onto the beach.

Mawgan Porth itself offers a choice of activities. Neighbouring Watergate Bay and its famous surfing beach offers a choice of waters sports and Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Restaurant.

There are so many amazing places to explore. Mawgan Porth is a great surfing beach with a surf school and just a stones throw away in Padstow are some fantastic eateries including the famous Rick Steins restaurant.

There are also many local attractions that will help you unwind and relax in this tranquil setting. These include:

Perched on a Cornish cliff top overlooking Mawgan Porth, the Scarlet Eco Hotel and Spa makes the most of the scenery, with facilities to enjoy treatments while listening to the waves crashing on the beach below.

The cliffs at Bedruthan have been systematically eroded over the years, leaving a series of impressive volcanic rock stacks. Other attractions include the huge rock formations known as the “giant’s steps”. National Trust and houses of historic interest are all within the local area, so plenty to do and see.

If you fancy going a little further a field, then The Eden Project is just 40mins away by car, or visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan, or simply just visit the village of Mawgan Porth itself.

The picturesque harbour town of Padstow is a 20 minute drive away, offering fine dining at Rick Steins seafood restaurants, local shops, boat trips and sandy beaches. Padstow is at the start of the Camel Trail, so hire a bike and take in the stunning scenery and wildlife along the route. There are places to stop along the way for refreshments and the mainly traffic free, level path is ideal for all ages and is a great family day out.
Newquay offers plenty of shops, activities, surfing and family entertainment, including a Zoo and Aquarium, and is just a 15 minute drive away.

You’ll approach To the Shore up a private drive just 150 metres back from the beach. Pull into one of your allocated parking spaces (you can plug your electric vehicle right here if you drive one), and walk up steps past your extensive front lawn to your door.

Inside To The Shore

Stepping inside you’ll find a very contemporary retreat that’s been styled lovingly by its owners with an eye for iconic modern design and coastal comfort. On the ground floor you’ll find most of the sleeping accommodation. Overlooking the front lawn and garden, and with a four metre sliding patio door, is the principal bedroom complete with king sized bed, a fully tiled en suite shower room with large monsoon shower, fitted wardrobe and dressing table. The second bedroom is a lovely generously-sized twin room and will suit adults, teenagers or children alike, and the third is fitted out with playful bunk beds — both of these are to the rear of the property and have ample fitted wardrobes. A family bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin completes the accommodation on this floor.

Up the wood and glass stairs is the stylish open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Wide patio doors slide open leading to the first floor balcony with its glazed balustrade. This space is south facing and catches the sun all day, with panoramic views of the valley. You have a sea glimpse to one side and this is a dramatic place to watch vibrant North Cornish coastal sunsets to the west. There’s an al fresco dining table for family and friends, as well as a suspended egg chair for you to escape the world with a good book or tipple.

The living space has a contemporary L-shaped sofa, additional beanbags and a 42” wall-mounted smart TV. The lovely oak dining table seats eight plus and hi-tech mood lighting can be set at the touch of a button for any time of day. The kitchen is a place for serious cooks and is configured around an island. It has AEG appliances — a large induction hob, electric oven and a second combination oven/microwave as well as a full height 70:30 fridge freezer. A flueless faux log fire adds a lovely touch of indulgent warmth and luxury for chillier winter nights.

Also on this floor is bedroom four, with a king sized bed and a generous en suite with monsoon shower. This room also comes with a cinema video projector — you can log in to your Netflix, Amazon or Apple TV accounts to chill with your favourite show that’s mega-sized on the wall. The comfortable open-plan dining and living area has a flat screen TV and French doors leading to your private garden and outdoor seating area. Scatho Lodge also benefits from access to a shared hot tub. Designed to be accessible, this lodge is suitable for disabled and wheelchair access and includes facilities for guests with care requirements. It can also accommodate up to two cots for infants under three years of age. Scatho Lodge is dog-friendly, so there's no need to leave your beloved pets at home!

This apartment offers the best of both worlds with a communal swimming pool shared only with only the other apartments (available May-September).
