This awesome Beach Pad couldn't be closer to the sand and surf of stunning Mawgan Porth Beach, being set just across the winding coastal road. The family-and-dog-friendly cove sits in the valley between the quaint fishing town of Padstow, famed for Rick Stein's restaurants and world renowned Newquay, home of the UK's biggest waves. It's also just a stone's throw from Watergate Bay, a good base from which to learn to surf or explore Cornwall's other treasures such as the Minack Theatre and the Eden Project.

Communication with the owners was very straightforward and easy and they were very helpful when we had to unexpectedly stay an extra night due to some of our party being taken ill. Our beach-side hideaway has breathtaking views over the stunning sandy beach of Mawgan Porth on the North Cornwall Coast. The modern south facing two bedroom apartment has a large open plan living area which opens out on to the terrace and communal lawn overlooking the beach.

A two minute walk from the front door and down the sandy path through the dunes takes you to the epic beach or South West coast path. Three minutes walk the other way past the pitch and putt golf course takes you to the shops, places to eat and pub in the village centre.

Mawgan Porth is a family friendly cove, located on the rugged stretch of coastline between Padstow and Watergate Bay. Popular with surfers, families and outdoor explorers, the location is a great base for exploring the Seven Bays coastline and other Cornish gems such as the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Minack Theatre, Padstow and Bedruthen Steps. The village has a pub, seafood restaurant, deli and shops, takeaways and surf school.

3 White Lodge is a contemporary two bedroom home, on the ground floor of a small sea front block of apartments. Our little family business is called Coast Hideaways - we've refurbished, designed and look after our special places by the sea in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall and The New Forest.

Inside the apartment there’s everything you need for an easy break away including TV with free Netflix, free WiFi, towels and linen, central heating and a dishwasher. Outside there’s an allocated parking space and lockable storage for surfboards and wetsuits.

The open plan living space has double doors leading out to your own patio and the communal lawn with views over the beach and headland. There’s a comfy corner sofa and a dining area with a table for four.

The good sized kitchen has everything you need for a change from the nearby restaurants and cafes including a dishwasher, full size fridge freezer and washing-drying machine.

Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed with a pocket sprung mattress and crisp cotton sheets. There’s hanging space and a chest of drawers.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds. We also have a travel cot and high chair if required - please let us know on booking.

The modern family bathroom has a bath with shower over.

We welcome families. Sorry, but we can't accept pets - it's a condition of the lease for all of the apartments in the building.

- "Style over substance? It may have the wow factor when you pull up, but once you enter, for us, it was poorly designed and styled, as no thought seems to have gone into the type of people who are going to stay i.e families who love the beach and sea. Unfortunately it is not practical beach holiday accommodation. Perhaps we are too picky, as we have been fortunate enough to stay in a number of luxury beach holiday lets, and know that attention to detail and taking the care and time to look at your potential market is key and makes all the difference. Sometimes it’s the small things that make the difference. Negatives: -was not clean when we arrived and we had to wait 1 1/2 hrs over the allocated arrival time and still it wasn’t clean (cleaners turned up at 2.30 to clean house and change the bed linen - check in time was 4.00!) and this was when it was supposed to have a deep clean due to COVID! -2 slice toaster for house that sleeps 8? should really be 4 slice toaster -Should have at least two televisions - not everyone wants to watch the same things (kids and adults) another should be in the master bedroom. -NO storage for beach gear I.e surf/body/paddle boards so although house is near the beach it is not beach friendly!!!! -master en-suite is too small you nearly dislocate your arm trying to get to the toilet roll! -no dressing table/mirror to sit at and dry/straighten your hair or put makeup on in the master bedroom (ideal space in master bedroom would be in the small alcove next to the en-suite) -blind next to entrance door would be good as can see when someone uses the main bathroom -master bedroom blinds have gaps in between so you are woken by the morning sun and not very private! (Especially from accommodation opposite - also can’t really sit in bed with blinds open unless you don’t mind being looked at!) -no parasol for shade on raised patio -storage or a cover needed for rattan cushions if rains -soundproofing is awful - in ground floor bedrooms you can hear EVERY sound from upstairs. From putting your mug on the coffee table to walking across the floor. -rooms are also extremely echoey -no hanging space for long dresses -small dog bed in front of fire but no dogs allowed? Positives : -Location to beach -showers are excellent -sofa is amazing and very comfortable -sun trap patio area (although no parasol) Would we stay here again? No Would we recommend? No Value for money? No"
