The Studio is immaculately maintained and comfortable - you can feel the owners’ love and effort put into maintaining it, which is so rare to come by these days. Floors, bathroom and surfaces were spotless. The bed was warm and so comfortable. Amenities are as listed. Owner/host, Antonia, is a wonderful and lovely lady (I miss her already!). We had a slight miscommunication at time of booking, but she was so patient and understanding she won me over. I highly recommend this place. - "I wanted to stay somewhere a little quirky and thought that this place would be ideal. There was a very steep lane on arrival. The hut shown in the picture is not the one we were in. We were under the impression that there was only one hut but we spotted 4 altogether. The reason I wanted the one in the photo was because it was close to the toilets as I have a stomach/digestion disorder and have to use the toilet during the night. We arrived about 4pm, unpacked the car and had a Quick Look around before it started to get dark. Toilets were further away than expected and the lights to guide you on the path were not working properly, thank goodness for my mobile phone torch. I was not happy trying to get to the toilets during the night with not much light and stepping in a large puddle which made things worse. The light above the door to the hut stayed on all night and there were no curtains across which I found very difficult to go to sleep. The hut was also on a building site with machinery down one end. This wasn’t as idyllic as I thought. We were only staying the one night and left at 7.30am, I didn’t bother even to have a shower as we only live 1.5 hours away. Apart from all this the place was clean with everything that you need was in it. Don’t go here when the weather is miserable and check that the building work has been finished and the lights work. Not suitable for small children. On a sunny day it would probably be okay. "

Picturesque views of chapel point from the sitting room, the property is nestled in the beautiful working fishing village of Mevagissey. Mevagissey is full of pretty little shops, a bakery, provisions, meat, vegetables and delicatesen available from Mores. Excellent fish and chips all year and a special grilled fish bar in high season. Excellent eateries, we recomment Salamander and Tea on the Quay is great for breakfast and cream teas.

There is an ATM in the village post office located in the general store. Most shops are now taking contactless debit cards. You can get cash back from Mores fruit and vegetable shop in the village.

Blue Pebble is a modern detached annex to our home situated in a quiet location above the village of Mevagissey by the sea. A short walk to the spectacular coastal path or to the picturesque village where pubs, restaurants, galleries and shops cluster along the narrow streets, it’s the perfect base for exploring on foot. At Blue Pebble you have the advantage of parking outside your front door avoiding the need to navigate the narrow (and sometimes very busy) streets into the village.

This bedroom also features a desk, computer monitor and supportive chair for those visiting on a working holiday. The bedrooms share a light family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.

A real highlight of this property is its proximity to the coast. Carlyon Bay Beach is only a 5 minute walk away and beautiful coastal path walks, such as a 30 minute scenic walk to the historic Charlestown Harbour, are accessible from the doorstep. The apartment also benefits from shared gardens with a communal seating area and rotary washing lines.

The Neighborhood:
The apartment is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk to Carlyon Bay beach, a long sand beach perfect for swimming, walking or just relaxing. In the summer months, you'll find a selection of trendy pop-ups on the beach serving local food and drinks, as well as a water sports hub if you fancy hiring a stand-up paddle board or exploring the bay by jet ski. Walking from the apartment in the other direction for around 10 minutes gets you to one of the top-rated restaurants in Cornwall, Edie's Kitchen. Golfers and those looking to relax are in for a treat with Carlyon Bay Golf Club and Hotel Spa on the doorstep.

The nearby town of Charlestown is renowned for its setting in the popular BBC drama Poldark. The historical Georgian port still retains much of its traditional character, and you'll often spot beautiful wooden tallships in the harbour. There are a number of great restaurants here and lovely spots for evening drinks by the water. This can be reached within a 30 minute walk.

The famous Eden Project is also just a 10-minute drive from the apartment, and is a must-see for new comers to Cornwall. The two large geodomes house plants that have been collected from many diverse climates and environments. It is a brilliant day out for all ages, and there are often live music nights that take place during summer.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are another unique attraction to the area and only a 20-minute drive. Abandoned since the outbreak of WW1, the estate was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for wildlife and plant lovers.

Fowey is one of the most idyllic towns in Cornwall and is just a short 15-minute drive away. It is located in an Area of Outstanding Beauty and has stunning views out over the estuary and the Cornish countryside. There is a brilliant selection of boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs within the town. There is also a famous regatta that takes place in summer, which is a brilliant day out for the whole family. The fishing town of Mevagissey is also a short drive away, and has a great selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

You're in the perfect spot to explore more of South Cornwall's gorgeous beaches, many of which are quiet even during the summer months. Nearby are Porthpean and Polkerris, or head a little further to Pentewan Sands, Gorran Haven, Caerhaeys and Vault Beach. Hikers will love exploring this remote part of Cornwall, and there are ample coastal paths spanning all the way from Carlyon Bay down to Lands End.

Getting Around:
The apartment has 2 private parking spaces within the gated grounds for those who wish to drive. You're also conveniently located close to St Austell train station, which has regular trains running direct to and from Exeter, Bristol and London Paddington. A 20-minute bus journey will then take you from the station to a bus stop just outside the apartment.

The apartment is all one one level and situated on the upper floor of a two storey property.

Please be aware that due to our lease restrictions, commercial vehicles are not permitted in the car park. There is on street parking close by.

A tastefully decorated south facing Ground Floor 1 bedroom apartment situated within a quiet location - just 8 mins walk from the stunning coastal fishing village of Mevagissey. It is only a short drive to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Charlestown (where the filming of 'Poldark' took place) and The Eden Project - and there is a local Ferry to Fowey that runs between Easter - Sept in good weather! If you enjoy walking - the Coastal Path in one direction leads to Pentewan Beach which offers water sport facilities and a beautiful long sandy beach and the other way to Portmellon, Gorran and further afield - which takes you past sandy beaches, hidden coves and stunning scenery which Cornwall is known for. We have a fresh fish stall that opens daily offering a variety of freshly caught local fish, newsagents/post office and a fabulous green grocers/deli. Larger shops like Asda/Tesco/Aldi/Lidl are a short drive away from the village. We also have a Boots Chemist should you require it!

The Waterwheel Apartment, Charlestown, is situated within a designated World Heritage Site and is only 500 metres from the harbour. The two-bedroomed apartment is contemporary and spacious, able to comfortably accommodate up to four people (plus an infant). The accommodation itself offers a high modern standard of comfort, has unlimited Wifi and a 60" Smart TV. There is a smaller Smart TV in bedroom one and a TV in bedroom two. There is a well equipped kitchen which includes essentials such as a dishwasher, washer/drier and fridge/freezer. The apartment is on the ground floor sheltered by its own enclosed garden, making it suitable for children, playing games, BBQs and relaxing in the sunshine! There is one designated parking space in front of the apartment, in addition, there is further off street parking and on street parking available close by.

Charlestown is perfectly situated for exploring the whole of Cornwall. The world famous Eden Project is only 3 miles away. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the picturesque villages of Mevagissey and Fowey are only a 15 minute drive away. Attractions such as The Tate St Ives, the wonderful St Michael's Mount, Land's End and the National Maritime Museum are easily visited within a day. Meanwhile the family friendly, sheltered beaches of St Austell Bay are on the doorstep and the surf resort of Newquay is an uncongested 14 mile drive. The Waterwheel Apartment itself is within a 100m of the Mevagissey - St Austell - Fowey bus stops which provide a frequent service throughout the year and is less than 2 miles from the main line railway station. Charlestown is a beautiful, idyllic, unspoiled, historic port, on the south coast of Cornwall and has recently featured in the TV series Poldark. Visit The Shipwreck Centre to learn about the fascinating local history or potter around the numerous gift shops. There are two 24-hour supermarkets within a mile of the apartment and the mainline railway station in St Austell has good connections within Cornwall.

Cornwall is renowned for its breathtaking coastline and has many attractions to explore. There are many beautiful beaches on the south coast like Porthpean, Pentewan, Caerhayes and Polkerris. Oh perhaps you prefer the dramatic coastline of the north coast with surfing beaches at Watergate Bay, Perranporth and Newquay. Enjoy a day trip to Land's End for some of the most spectacular scenery in Cornwall. There are plenty of award-winning restaurants to choose from. Sandy Feet Retreat is a basic,clean,warm caravan situated in the front garden of our house,Pine Ridge. It sleeps two,in a double bed,plus a child in the seating area. There is a kitchenette. All with sea views. There is a small bathroom, with a basin, shower, and cassette toilet (emptied and refilled each day by ourselves.) All bedding is provided. It is not perfect, but it is clean and dry,comfy and quiet with stunning views. It has a one ring electric hob(no grill/oven) microwave and fridge.

The space
This is a touring caravan sited on our front lawn, with basic facilities. There is a comfy double bed with sea views. The front seating area can be converted to a single bed if needed. It has a flushing cassette toilet, a shower, and a wash basin. We dont recommend drinking from the tap, but we do provide water bottles, and refill them from the house. There is a cooker, but for safety reasons, we have not connected the gas, so it has one electric ring only ( NO GRILL or OVEN ). If you need anything cooking in an oven, we are more than happy to do this for you, in the house. Also, if you need the use of a freezer, we can put your items in our house freezer. There is a microwave, toaster, kettle, 24 inch smart TV ,radio, fridge, and a supply of crockery and cutlery. It is clean, warm, and cosy. All linen is provided.

Guest access
Guests can park in the parking area on our private drive and can sit out on the gravelled patio to enjoy the sea views ( a picnic bench and seating is provided. ). Also, they have use of the front lawn.

Other things to note
There is a lovely, safe beach in the heart of the village within a 10-minute walk of the caravan. Down in the village, there is a chip shop and cafe, The Haven Chippy, a beach fronted takeaway, called The Mermaid, both serve hot and cold food and alcohol. Then there is the amazing Cakebreads that is our local general store and it also does excellent takeaway hot and cold food, pasties, pizzas, burgers, salads, breakfasts, ice creams and it has a licensed bar. Hidden at the side of the Chippy is The beachcomber, which sells gifts and ice creams. Finally, there is ' The Chop Shop'( the hairdressers) if you need a haircut!
There is a large pay and display car park, which is open all year.

The Studio is a beautifully furnished, light and airy space in the grounds of our home. With far reaching stunning views of the countryside. It is approximately 2 miles from St Austell and convenient for beaches, Eden project, Heligan Gardens, Charlestown and lovely country walks.

Due to Covid 19 I have put in an extra precautionary cleaning regime for your safety including the use of UV Disinfectant lamp which will be used between each guests visit.

The cabin is a compact, fully insulated, heated, clean, space. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay, set up for two people.

Parking space available on site.

There is a separate entrance and key safe so you can check yourself in and come and go independently.

The space
There is a double bed, fold out table, tiny fridge (see photo), tv, toilet and shower room with heated towel rail. There is an electric radiator which is very efficient but not instant, so will take an hour to warm up. The cabin is compact but very comfortable.

Tea and coffee making facilities are provided.

The cabin is not listed as having a kitchen but does have a kettle, toaster and a single electric ring so you can make breakfast and light meals. There is also a mini fridge. All the basics (cutlery, crockery, tin and bottle opener) are there for you to use.

There is space to sit outside the cabin. This is in our shared garden.

Guest access
When you arrive you can park at the front of our house. There is room here for two cars side by side so please park with that in mind so we can also park our car there.
There is a gated entrance to Cherry Tree Cabin. This is on the left hand side as you face the house and gives the cabin its own private access so you can come and go without us getting in your way. It has security lighting to help if you are arriving or returning late at night.
Late arrival is not a problem, just let us know so that we can leave the cabin’s outside light on too.

We are following Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning routines. The cabin will be fully aired and thoroughly cleaned between guests.

The Guest floor accommodation is accessed via a shared entrance (see plan in photo gallery) to the front of the property. The hall features a boot rack and drying pegs for use by one and all; please leave any muddy or wet items here.
Camping chairs, a clothes airier and beach equipment can also be found here for your use.
There is a bookcase of paperbacks in the hall for you to take; donations in the money box please, with all proceeds to our chosen local charity Cornwall Hospice Care.
Visitor information, board games, maps, guide books, tide and bus timetables for the local area can be found in the old school desk.
Our contact details are on the info sheet in your room along with any relevant user or safety info.

During your stay
Your hosts are Rich and Clare Harris:
Rich (ex RN) Retail manager; takes care of the practical day to day running of Treetops.
Clare is a full time local government officer; well connected at county level and an absolute go to person for local information.
We live on the top floors of Treetops and are on hand to help as required but our primary aim is always to leave you to enjoy your private space in peace and quiet to come & go as you please!
We share the main entrance to the property for access only and always respect our guests' privacy.
We're always happy to help with any additional advice required and consider special requests..

One of us will always welcome you upon arrival to issue keys and help with any queries regarding your stay at Treetops..

General mobile signal strength improves outside the building.
Drinking tap water in Cornwall is good for you but please feel free to bring bottled or anything else you may require or enjoy during your stay.
We're keen to recycle: Glass, one use plastics, tins, cardboard etc; please place in the daily service box provided.
