The converted barn is set in over 6 acres of land in the peaceful village of Llanvetherine only 10 minutes drive from the market town of Abergavenny. The barn is near the Offas Dyke path and around 5 minutes drive from the base of the Skirrid Mountain, it is an ideal location for those that love to walk.

Our whole ethos is to live as sustainably as possible and the electricity for the Cart House comes from a mix of wind and solar energy, with the heating provided by a super-efficient wood pellet boiler. The farm produces organic, rare breed and wholly pasture-fed sheep with no spray or fertilisers and minimal tractor use across the year. We aim to protect our soils and support a great range of wildlife.
The Cart House is a great place for a relaxed break walking in the Black Mountains, dining in local restaurants (including the nearby Michelin Starred Walnut Tree) and browsing the fascinating independent shops in nearby Abergavenny.
North Monmouthshire is renowned for its cycling on quiet lanes and rolling country roads with little traffic. For the adrenalin junkies, we are half way between Bike Park Wales and the legendary trails of the Forest of Dean and there are lots of green lanes around the far to whet your appetite. We offer locked bike storage, access to a pressure washer and plenty of local knowledge about places to go.
We can arrange additional activities, such as individual yoga lessons, wine tasting at the excellent Whitecastle Vineyard in the village, or occasional courses in furniture making, blacksmithing and cider making!

Less than a 2 minute walk from the nearest car park and bus station and only half a mile from the train station, this apartment is ideal whether you have a car and are planning on exploring the surrounding area or if you are more reliant on public transport.

The building is a 2 minute walk from the Angel hotel and a 5 minute walk to most of the restaurants. The famous Abergavenny food festival usually has stalls right outside.

The properties are accessed via internal flight of stairs and both has one twin and one double bedroom. There is also an optional double sofa bed which would allow 6 people to stay although we would only recommend this for short stays due to the size of the apartment. The owners were extremely helpful asking if we needed anything. The annexe had everything we needed and was nice and clean. The garden is being updated but this didn’t affect our stay. As you come out the front gates and turn right there are the steps down to the tow path which makes a really pleasant evening walk. We visited the Waitrose, a10 minutes drive, for our supplies but there is a village shop within walking distance. Great position for exploring. Garn-y-Skirrid is an wooden cabin with wildlife friendly garden for 1 or 2 people with shower room and well equipped kitchenette. Close to the Brecon Beacons, just 3 miles from Abergavenny with outstanding views and ideal for enjoying all the outdoor opportunities: walking, cycling, wild swimming etc. £10 per night discount for single occupancy. One pet welcome but not in Feb/ March/April when we are lambing. A warm welcome is extended to all guests by the owners, Tom and Marjorie, next door.

The space
There are 2 single beds but they can be put together if required. All have duvets and 2 pillows. A folding bed as available for a 3rd guest. The shower room has a basin, toilet and a full-sized shower with towels provided. The kitchenette has a sink, fridge, double electric hot plates, microwave, kettle, air fryer and toaster plus crockery, cutlery and pans. A BBQ and freesat television are also provided.

Other things to note
Wifi is available in the Cabin but as we are in a very rural area the speed is not as fast as people might receive in an urban area.

'The Cwtch' at Dan y Coed is set in the small village of Gilwern near to Crickhowell and Abergavenny. The 200 year old cottage is set on a quiet country lane in the heart of the Brecon Beacons . ‘The Cwtch’ is an annex on the right side of the property. A private part of the house, it does however share the main entrance only. Its self catering with fridge, microwave toaster and a cooker . Comprising of two double bedrooms, living space and private shower room

The space
We are ideally situated for nature lovers, walking holidays, local attractions including castles, museums beautiful mountains for keen climbers (Sugar Loaf), Skirrid, Pen y Fan the highest mountain range in South Wales. The property is centrally heated. The property is accessed through the main entrance to the house and once in 'The Cwtch' it has its own door leading to all rooms. We are self catering , and home from home.

The Annex is a separate and private part of the house there are two large double bedrooms, . We do share a front door until you step through into the annex door, Separate space for kitchen area, large lounge, private shower room all of which is for your sole use.
Guest's have access to communal areas and the outside large garden.

My place is close to the town centre and train and bus stations are also easily accessed by foot.
You’ll love my place because of the beautiful countryside perfect for hill walking in the Brecon Beacons. Abergavenny is a vibrant market town with many independent shops. The Food Festival in September is a must for all foodies.

There are plenty of activities and we are Located just off the Offa's Dyke and 3 Castles walking routes plus there are some amazing pubs nearby to eat.

The space
Set up in the valley with beautiful views down to the village of Skenfrith, it is a truly stunning area. Plenty of fields, wildlife, and peace.

We provide a basic breakfast including cereal, butter, milk, coffee, tea, bread and sometimes fresh hens eggs (if they are laying). If you are arriving late on Friday and would like a meal put in the fridge to be heated up on your arrival, please let us know and we can send over a menu, an additional cost will be added.

Just 10 minutes by car from Abergavenny but a peaceful country retreat.
Simple, modern log cabin with open plan sitting/kitchen/dining with double sofa bed & a double bedroom and bathroom. 50 metres behind the farmhouse, away from the road and screened by trees. There are board games, books, toys etc. Wifi available, basic CD player/radio plus CDs
Garden furniture for sitting out. Homemade firepit. Farm to wander over. Animals to see. Good places to eat out. Walking in the hills.

The space
The cabin is in the back garden screened by trees from the house. It looks out over fields and gardens.

There is one bedroom with a double bed and a sofa that turns into a good size double in the main living space. The kitchen has a fridge, kettle, toaster, small oven/grill, two ring induction hob (new in response to guest feedback). Lots of bowls, pans, plates, cups etc. Please ask if you need anything else. We provide a few cooking essentials like salt and pepper, mixed herbs and sugar.
In the bedroom is a full length mirror, hair dryer, iron, lots of hooks for hanging clothes up and some shelves. The bathroom has shower, toilet and basin and a heated towel rail. We provide towels.
A travel cot and a high chair are available.
The accommodation may suit a couple, a couple with one or two children, or two couples.
New: WiFi now in the cabin. Mobile phone signals are erratic--some people get much better reception than others. If your provider lets you turn on WiFi call it your phone should work fine through the WiFi. h

The thick pine wood walls offer excellent insulation. 2 electric radiators, an old fashioned electric blower fan heater and electric blanket mean the cabin can be cosy any time.

Guest access
Guests have the whole space and their own front door. Access is via a short path near a barn with parking on the grass. There are 2 parking spaces but we can accommodate more cars. You are welcome to walk over our 70 acres and current farming activities will decide which fields can be safely accessed. There is some private outside space for your use with a homemade brazier/firepit. Logs cost £20 for a wheelbarrow load. The lawn is shared with us. Your children can use the traditional swing and home built climbing frame next to the cabin but you let them do so at your own risk -- these are not tested to playground standards.

Other things to note
We accept well behaved dogs but they need to be under control outside at all times as the ducks wander everywhere and there are often lambs and sheep in the orchard or paddocks near the house. Don't leave dogs on their own to whine or bark while their owners go out for long periods, We have a boisterous sheep dog, Shep and a young cat, Zak. Our grandchildren are here quite often and sometimes play on the swing and climbing frame near the cabin.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, without mobile phone connection then this is the place for you. It feels remote, though only 30 minutes from Abergavenny (The Gateway to Wales) and 20 minutes from the world famous book town of Hay-on-wye where there are great restaurants and cafes, and is the ideal place to take a breath and step back in time a little.

The space
In between Hay-on-Wye and Abergavenny, we are a unique, homely and family run, bed and breakfast. In a Victorian farm house we have central heating, sitting room with log fire, breakfast room, lounge with a DVD player, and an outside decking area to enjoy the view. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, comfy beds, with en-suite and shared bathrooms. Evening meal can be arranged for those without transport. Packed lunches to take away with you for walking, riding or road trips, also available upon request.

With a Five Star Food Hygiene rating, we cater to individuals, couples and families with all food preferences and dietary requirements and please call or message ahead and ask.
When staying at the Grange you'll be sharing a Victorian farm house with the founding family the Griffiths' and other guests and regulars.

During your stay
We also provide a long standing horse riding and pony trekking experience into the mountains that can be booked on site or over the phone in advance. For all ages, those who have never ridden before, highly experienced or looking to ride and picnic on the mountain side for the full day.

If you wish to go walking, sight seeing, visiting of local attractions and/or horse riding we can accommodate you. We love providing visitors with local information and can arrange cinema, town and pub trips upon request.

We are deep into the welsh mountains and there is no phone signal at the Grange but we do have a landline that you can use in an emergency and a very tentative WiFi connection.
