Designed by famed waterfront architect Robert Maloney, the Beach Hideaway will take your breath away. With its two bedrooms, 2.5 baths, gourmet kitchen, 42' Plasma HDTV and surround sound in the living room, massive river rock fireplace, decks to the water, and private hot tub, this bungalow sits on a private sandspit and has more charm and amenities than any waterfront getaway anywhere in Puget Sound. Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave-it’s amazing (just read some of the reviews, many from honeymooners).

Set on a private spit of land in Puget Sound, this wood beamed cottage was originally built in the 1950s (when you could still build right on the beach). It is so remote that you have to use a four wheel drive Kawasaki Mule to even get to it. But don’t worry, it’s the Lexus of its class with comfortable, covered seating for four, plus plenty of luggage space.

Everywhere, we strive to keep the best of the old, while incorporating the finest in modern touches and charm to make your stay nothing short of wondrous. We’ve even incorporated what the beach has given us for décor: driftwood retainer wall in the courtyards, and an old, long forgotten, abandoned beach beam from some far away land as our mantle.

You have your own private beach with driftwood, clams, mussels, oysters, and so much to explore, as there are no other homes adjacent in either direction. The state of the art hot tub, away from prying eyes, where the ladies might relax with their wine, while the guys take a boat for fishing with a beer. Or maybe you’ll all venture out in kayaks we can arrange for you.

Inside, you’ll find that the best of the old beach cabin with its old growth beams have been painstakingly preserved to former richness by Ron Milne, Master Refinisher. They are enhanced with rich slate, nails head flooring, warm wall treatment, and designer lighting to set the mood to make those special moments.

The furnishings, like all of Whidbey Retreats (WR) properties, is the finest. What a great place to watch the theatre level satellite cinema system, or to just curl up with the stereo surround, toes tucked under one of our oversized throws, while enjoying the flames of the river rock fireplace. Or listen to nothing more than the lapping waves that will do their best to still and comfort your soul. And, the only sounds you will hear will not be people, but the bald eagles that live in high aeries above along the shore; their cries that pierce the air are so distinctive. (Be sure to bring your camera, especially to capture the mottled brown of the young eagles less than three years old.)

Also, like the other WR properties, the house is a veritable art gallery, with each key painting set with museum lighting. These are some of the finest from the owner’s private collection of over 300 pieces, and are meant to evoke a sense of romance and sensuality.

The kitchen is a gourmet chefs dream-you’ll want to go home and redo your own, except that you won’t likely have a setting like this where you are viewing the ocean only feet from the kitchen window. It has every amenity with slate counters, stainless appliances, and all the utensils you will need to make those special meals for your special getaway. There’s even a serving bar. It’s set up with a couple of eating stools for the quick meal or to perfectly present the cocktail hour martinis (Bombay Sapphire straight, very dry, with two olives for us)!.

At night the dining table sits surrounded by glass with a beautiful chandelier, which you may want to dim to see the lights of the boats on the ocean. Of course, there is both formal outdoor dining, or our favorite is to be casual with the table side luxury chaise lounge chairs. Of course, there is a professional BBQ at your disposal. Or the unprofessional BBQ in the form of your own beach fire pit where you roast hot dogs and have smores on the beach. Yum!

- "I went with the hotel option it was very quiet and away from the main property. The pool was great and the room was very clean! Also, there was A/C in the room and dish... we brought our own food and propane grill, but there was a microwave and mini fridge inside the room. The front desk was hard to reach via phone, but once there they were extremely nice, helpful and informative about the property. One draw back was the property is about 45mins away from the actual town of leavenworth with all the shops and tourist area, but there is a small town called plain about 15mins away from the property that had a little grocery store with food, gas, and a small cafe. We will definitely be back in the near future."

Our property is not suitable for pets, or kids under 12. We do not make exceptions. The pathway to the space is gravel and slightly sloped in spots. We have WiFi, however it can be spotty at times.

Our bungalow-style house is nestled among towering cedars and firs. The large, private deck gives lovely views of Puget Sound. Watch the sunsets and tides from cozy Adirondack chairs perched on a small grassy slope looking across the saltwater bay.

The bungalow is a free standing guest house with it's own private entry. The interior features a cute-as-a-button 1950's style kitchen, fully equipped. Coastal themed decor and wall art are found throughout. Covered parking is provided.

When guests arrive, they often feel they have entered another world. The tide comes in and out of the saltwater bay twice each day. Herons wade in the shallows. Kingfishers and Ospreys fish for their dinners. Sometimes Eagles call. It is peaceful.

This beautifully updated studio is the perfect space for a couple or family with children. It's approximately 400 square feet and has an eat-in kitchen, Queen bed & full size pull out sofa bed.

Please note: The house is a triplex and has a another unit located next door that has a mirrored layout. The additional larger unit is a 3-bedroom suite that is upstairs. All three units are completely separated from each other and have their own separate entrances. The backyard is the only shared space along with the outdoor fire fit.

This is a dog friendly (sorry, no cats) unit so your pup can join you on vacation. We do charge an extra $40 per animal.

Please note this is a lower unit. There is a unit upstairs. Although we have added sound barriers, there is a chance you will hear guest footsteps n the upper unit.

You will be staying in a beautifully built 620 square foot container home. The unit you will be renting is the bottom apartment.

These container guest homes are on a 13 acre property where the owners live as well as a friend/property caretaker.

There is a pool in between the container home and the owner's home.
If you would like to use it a liability waiver would need to be signed.
We can not guarantee the use of the pool when you book. If the pool is a reason for you wanting to stay here, please inquire about the pool before you officially book.

This container home has 1 bedroom with a queen bed, dresser, and armoire for you to store your things. The Kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, convection stovetop, toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker, and dishwasher. There is also a kitchen table for 2-4 to sit at.

There are 2 televisions in the home. No cable is available, however, we have many apps and programs you can watch using our login credentials or yours. The TVs are Roku and Amazon ready.

Also, there is a washer and dryer combo for you to use.

There are 3 outside spaces...One covered patio, one wood deck with patio furniture, and a front concrete pad with seating.

We have a charcoal Weber BBQ for you to use. We supply everything you will need (minus the food).

We have a small fire pit outside, if you would like to use it please let us know before you arrive so we can have the wood and everything ready for you. (we are in a burn ban every year from July-October so the fire pit will be unavailable during those months)

Walking distance to Gardiner Beach and boat launch.

Hop on your bike and take a ride along the Olympic Discovery Trail.

Not far from the home is the whimsical and beautiful Troll Haven.

If you are looking for some entertainment we have the Seven Cedars Casino only a 7 minute drive away.

Two miles away is the Sunshine Herb and Lavender Farm. Sequim is considered the Lavender Capital of the World.

Less than a half hour drive to the Dungeness Spit which is the longest natural sand spit in the United States.

An hour or less from the amazing Olympic National Park.

A must see is the spectacular Lake Crescent with great hikes and waterfalls. (1 hour drive)

Salt Creek Recreation area is one of the best places for tide pooling around. (1 hour drive)

Take a day trip and explore Forks. ( less than a 2 hour drive)

Grocery stores 10 minutes away, Burger King and McDonalds plus other restaurants 10 minutes away, gas stations close by. There are many things to see in Olympia such as the Tumwater Falls, the capitol of the state tour, 60 miles to Seattle, 2 hours to Mount Rainier or Mount St. Helens, 2 1/2 hours to the Cascade Mountains. A treat is to go to Bremerton in your car and take the ferry to Seattle in the evening to see the sunset and then drive home or drive along the coast line to the ocean.

Guest can communicate with us through the Airbnb app. We also live nearby, should guests need anything during their stay.

Other things to note
- There is a lower unit attached to this home that is separate from this listing. There is no access or any shared spaces with this unit or guests. Please be courteous of your downstairs neighbors (i.e. no running, jumping, loud music, excessive noise, etc.)

- This home is near the airport so there is a potential for noise from the planes flying by. However, we have installed double paned windows to help minimize noise. We also provide earplugs in the bedrooms for sensitive sleepers.

- To provide protection for our guest and property, the home is equipped with a noise monitoring system that detects decibel levels throughout the home (it does not record audio) and outdoor security cameras (only records when motion is detected).

Small home on a hill above Kitsap Lake. Guests have their own bedroom and bathroom which are off the main hallway, and are welcome to fully utilize common spaces.

The space
The house has three bedrooms. The master is mine, and I use the third as an office/study. Guests use the second. Its small with plenty of closet space for a few nights stay. Guests usually love the back patio and yard with the fire pit most, and the pool table next. Guests are free to use both.

Guest access
The only room I ask you not enter is my bedroom. Other than that, please make yourself at home. The family/dining room has a large table, bar, and pool table. The living room has a gas fireplace and television. There are board games and a binder with information on local activities.

During your stay
Socialization is totally up to you. I will default to giving you privacy where ever you are (I usually hang out in my study and work or play on my desktop). I'm always down for boardgames!

On that note, I do virtual meetings twice a week (Sunday and Thursday nights) to keep in touch with family and friends. We often play boardgames virtually, so it can get a bit loud. We usually wrap up by 9pm or so, and I'm happy to try to keep it down if we are disturbing you!

My roommate is pretty shy so he usually keeps to himself.

Other things to note
My roommate and I live in the house. We go to great lengths to make sure your bedroom and bathroom are clean, and I generally keep the rest of the house fairly clean as well (check my reviews), but if you are looking for a sparkling kitchen this might not be the place for you.

I do not have cable, but I do have internet and a smart tv in the livingroom with access to Netflix, HBO, Disney+, Hulu, and Paramount+.

I should also point out that both of us are bachelors on the dating market and might have a date over at some point in your stay. Please communicate with me if you have any discomfort with this.
