★ Other things to note
→ Security Camera: We have one security camera above the front door, monitoring our stairs, driveway and road in front of our cabin. Our interior and hot tub are NOT in view. Having a camera is imperative for ensuring the protection of our cabin, our property, and our guests' personal property while they stay with us.
→ Highway: It is nearby so you can hear it. At night it does tend to be quieter. But on the bright side, the proximity to the highway also enables easy access to your next adventure.
→ Hot Tub: We realize that our hot tub is a key selling point for a lot of people, so we work hard to make sure it’s in prime working order for your stay. However, there may be times when weather or guest misuse makes it so we have to drain and refill which then takes extra time to reheat for the next guest. These should be exceptions and not the norm, but we like to manage expectations to avoid disappointment. We recently had the electrical for the hot tub redone and brought up to code. In case of emergency there is a breaker switch nearby.
→ Children: We love children. We have four of our own. While we welcome children, please note that our A-Frame is not necessarily child-proofed. The stairs are not protected, the fireplace is out in the open, the loft has large railing gaps, furniture and electronics are not mounted to walls, and outlets do not have covers. By requesting to book, you are agreeing to full responsibility and liability for all children present during your stay and agree that they will be monitored by a responsible adult at all times.
→ Weather & Cancellations: We cannot predict or control weather, so we don't offer refunds due to inclement weather. Please keep this in mind when booking, and if this is a concern we recommend purchasing travel insurance (AirBNB provides this while checking out).
→ No Smoking: Please refrain from smoking inside our A-Frame! Any smoking evidence will incur a fee for odor removal and furniture cleaning.
→ No Parties or Events: We kindly ask you to treat our A-Frame respectfully so that future guests may enjoy an experience consistent with when you first walked in. Timberlane Village is a small community that doesn't hesitate to report back to us on anything out of the ordinary.
→ 4 Guests Max: Please respect our maximum occupancy of 4, as our septic system cannot handle more than that. If we determine that you’ve had more than 4 people stay, extra fees will be applied.
→ Pets: We support those who have assistance animals. As far as pets go, only well-trained dogs are welcome with an additional pet fee.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
- "Such an amazing place. Needed a fun yet relaxing getaway from the city and work life. Would come here again! It was simple to find, keep us warm and cozy throughout our stay. Also, such an adorable and well maintained home. Thank you for giving us such an amazing experience and we left our cute note in the guest book. I hope you have 3 or more guest books to write in, cause people should be thanking you for providing us with a cute, cozy place to relax and unwind. Kindest regards, Daryn "

- "Nice and quiet, easy access to Leavenworth and the zip lines. Loved the hot tub and the hammock." - "Perfect little sanctuary for some rest and relaxation." - "Restful honeymoon in a well maintained older cabin. Rained our entire stay, but the property made the stay inside still lovely. The fireplace and hot tub were the trip highlights! The nearby towns of Skykomish and Gold Bar have limited, but very nice dining options. Skip the convenience store in Skykomish though... recommend bringing in any food you want to have for your stay in with you. Very limited grocery options in the area, with a small, expensive option in Gold Bar being the closest option. Would definitely recommend to others, and stay again if the opportunity arises!"

- "A large group of us stayed for a long weekend and it was perfect. Directions and instructions were clear and easy, great hikes in the area (we explored Iron Goat which was beautiful!). It's a lovely large cabin with plenty of room and everything you can think of at hand." - "Not only is the cabin beautiful and beyond homey and comfortable it is located near so many amazing things to enjoy and do. To say the owners are amazing also would be an understatement. Their knowledge of the area, the help throughout the way and their quick and fully explained responses to my messages was beyond what I expected. The only thing that we have to say is make sure you check road closures anywhere you stay if there is only one way in and out and also make sure to check fire dangers before shopping for stuff to make over a campfire. We made that mistake. We got stuck from doing what we planned one entire day as the only road in and out was closed all day. Not any part of the owner's fault, just an FYI for everyone to check those things. Again, I cannot express how wonderful this rental was. I would suggest to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable and wanting to explore the beauty in Washington mountains."

- "Such a spacious home! Perfect place to stay if you are looking to be near Stevens Pass. Location is also near restaurants and gas station! Everything you need, and the hot tub was a great way to end the night. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!" - "We had a great time at the Hart Haus. It had all the essentials for a lovely stay. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes and cutlery. There was an Instant Pot, coffee maker/keurig, plenty of pots/pans and cooking utensils. Lots of towels. The bed in the master bedroom was quite firm and the pillows more stuffed than we usually like, but we brought our pillows with us so did fine. There was a high chair and crib as well. Even a dog bed and dog waste bags. The yard is small but was plenty of space for the dogs to do their business. No grassy area for lawn games, but the small deck was nice to sit out on and the hot tub was relaxing. We went on a weekend and our 3 year old loved the mini train rides down the street. We also found an easy hike to a nearby lake up towards Gold Bar. It was a quiet, relaxing stay."

The couch is especially comfortable and the nightly fires (don’t forget to bring your own campfire wood though) and fireplace created the ambience we were hoping for. And then there is the river and train routinely passing by which were simply remarkable. Sitting in the hot tub at night with a glass of wine and the full moon shimmering on the the river while laughing and catching up with friends was absolutely perfect and the best that the PNW has to offer. The fall tree colors were an added bonus too! We will make return trips to stay here! "

- "The cabin was in a great location and is nice and clean and everything worked properly. Nice kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of wood cut for you so you can make a cozy fire in the wood burning stove. Check in was difficult for us because I never got the checkin instructions because I hadn’t signed the agreement apparently. The email came from the property management not VRBO, so I never found it in my searches. And the VRBO app doesn’t have the phone number to call, so you have to go to the website for the number. So make your you have everything in order before you head to the cabin. The beds upstairs are in rooms that are very tiny due to the pitched ceiling. We were lucky we only had one person in each bed because we had to sleep diagonally—the head of the bed is not usable because of the pitched ceiling. There is a whole list of instructions to clean up the place before leaving including stripping the beds, putting towels in bags, cleaning kitchen, taking out garbage, etc. Yet there is still a substantial cleaning fee; they say it is for sanitizing the place. And there is a large note asking for tips for cleaning. We were a bit confused since we left the place in a very clean state. I always leave a tip for hotel cleaning staff but cleaning fees are not collected at hotels. We were happy there was cut wood for us and the place was very nice, so we did wind up leaving a nominal tip, but it just felt weird to be asked on top of the fees we paid and the extensive list of checkout/cleaning procedures. All in all the place is very nice and deserving of 5 star rating."

- "We had a amazing stay" - "We planned our stay at the last minute and were only there for one night. They were very accommodating regarding check in which made it even better. The place looks just like the pictures, absolutely adorable. We couldn't find any extra towels and there were only 3, one for each of us. That meant wet towels if you shower at night. There were no instructions for how to manage the place while you are there. It was fine for us, we just did what we would. I just didn't want to do something wrong and cause an issue. We didn't have any problems and the hot tub was already hot for us. We'd love to come back and stay again, maybe even big a large group and stay in all the cabins. Was so close to the ski resort and in a gorgeous area."

- "Nice little shack in the woods, didn't realize quite how close it was to the other cabins, but it had all the amenities for a nice crash pad. it is a solid 30-45 minutes to "civilization" but there are a few country stores and dinners in-between, and i think we counted like 8 espresso shacks between there and Monroe/522 intersection so there is no lack of coffee. unfortunately even for as remote as it is its on a major route so there is some road noise. all in all if i ever go back to this area of Washington, its definitely on my list"

Important Information for Your Stay
1. Using the Lofts
Our cabin features three bedrooms and two additional loft spaces, accessible by narrow, steep ladders. The lofts are cozy and fun spaces but may be challenging for some guests. Please use them at your own risk, as they may not be suitable for individuals with mobility concerns, fear of heights, or kids. We encourage guests to consider these factors when booking to ensure a comfortable and safe stay.
1. First Loft (with the hidden pull down ladder)
• To pull down the ladder, use the small rope attached to bring it down. The space is narrow and compact, so please climb carefully.
2. Second Loft (at the back of the house)
• This ladder goes straight up. You’ll need to hold onto the rope as you climb down for additional support.
Please use caution when accessing the lofts, and feel free to reach out with any questions about the setup. We want to make sure your stay is both enjoyable and safe!
2. Communication:
Please note that our area has limited cell reception, so do not rely on internet-based apps, such as mapping services, to navigate to the property. Once you book, we will provide the best contact number for reaching us. For the fastest response during your stay, please call (leave a message if no answer), message us through Airbnb, or text us, as we do not monitor emails 24/7.
3. Check-In/Check-Out:
After you finish booking, you should receive a door code automatically. Your property will be ready for check-in by 4 PM, and you can arrive at your leisure. Check-out is at 11 AM; please ensure timely departure so we can prepare the home for the next guests.
4. Cabin in the Woods:
This cabin is situated in a rural/semi-rural setting where weather conditions, wildlife (including pests), utility outages, and road conditions can impact your stay. While we conduct regular pest control and have an excellent cleaning service, occasional wildlife and insects may still be present. If the possibility of encountering such creatures will affect your stay, we recommend considering a different location. Guests should be prepared with all-wheel drive or chains for inclement winter weather and should be comfortable handling common home operations (e.g resetting a breaker, using a generator, unclogging a toilet, using the fireplace). Please be aware that internet and power outages are beyond our control; we can assist in reporting these issues, but updates and resolutions come from the utility companies directly.
5. Neighbors:
While our homes provide a sense of privacy, often surrounded by trees and wilderness, please keep in mind that most properties are part of communities with neighboring houses. “Secluded” typically means off-grid locations, which may lack some amenities.
6. Utilities:
Power outages can occur but are generally resolved quickly unless caused by severe weather. If continuous electricity or internet access is essential, we advise reconsidering your stay in a wilderness area. Generator is provided with an instruction and our home has firewood available for heat.
7. River Access:
We do not have direct access to the river from our home. Access can be found on the other side of the river at the Skykomish ball-field. With this in mind, the river’s condition changes seasonally, affecting bank stability and access points. Please be careful if you seek access to the river. We also have steep slopes to the back of the property. Children should never be left unattended in the back deck area or spa. Please exercise caution, this cabin is an adventure and risks exist that don’t at a typical home in the city.
8. Usage Guidelines:
As owner of private homes, we ask that you honor this privilege by being respectful guests and neighbors. Events, parties, or gatherings with non-paying guests are not permitted, and occupancy limits will be enforced. Pets must be leashed when outside, and all pet waste must be disposed of properly in outdoor trash bins. Firearms and fireworks are strictly prohibited. Adhering to these guidelines helps ensure that communities continue to welcome vacation rentals and their guests.
9. Guest and Pet Count:
Please double-check your guest and pet count to ensure we have the correct information. If you plan to have visiting guests, please notify us in advance to avoid assuming they are unauthorized nightly guests. Only two pets maximum are allowed. Pets are welcome for a fee of $100/stay, and we expect pet waste to be picked up and properly bagged in outdoor trash bins. Pets must not be left unattended in the home unless crated. - Please bring your own pet bed or blanket. If you don’t have one, let us know, and we’ll gladly provide it. Pets are not allowed on beds or duvets. We provide paper towels and dark towels specifically for cleaning paws or wiping the floor. Please avoid using the white towels for these purposes. We expect pets to be well-trained and use the bathroom outdoors. Please clean up after them promptly.
10. Grocery store: Please note that the nearest grocery store is about 30 minutes away. However, there’s a deli and convenience store just 5 minutes from the property. We recommend bringing any necessary food items with you to make the most of your stay.
11. Please note that our home is situated close to a train rail, and as a result, you hear noise and vibrations from the train rumbling by. That is part of the charm of this place. While we appreciate the historic charm of this aspect, we understand that it may be disruptive for light sleepers. Also, this is a two level space with the bedroom on the second level and the bathroom on the main level.
Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you have a wonderful stay!

★ ADDITIONAL INFO ★
↦ While being the closest vacation rental with electricity to Stevens Pass has its benefits, the proximity to HWY 2 can mean that road noise can be heard from time to time.
↦ We do our best to keep the hot tub clean, hot, and ready for each and every guest. However, from time to time, it is required that we drain the hot tub to refresh and reset the balance of things. While this rarely takes place, we do want you to be aware that if it happens to fall during your reservation, we will make every effort to get it back online as soon as possible.
↦ The power in Skykomish has been known to go out from time to time. While it is rare we want you to be aware. We have a small backup generator that can run a couple of plugged in items (like a refrigerator) but not the whole cabin. However, if the power does go out during your stay, you will need to bring that generator online to run the cabin. We will, of course, help talk you through this, but you will need to execute a couple of steps to power things up. If you are uncomfortable with mechanical things, please let us know, and we will do our best to bridge the gap.
↦ We require that all guests sign a rental agreement before arrival.
↦ The stairs leading up to the loft are a touch steep. For your convenience, we have an alternative sleeping option downstairs (queen pullout couch), but it can make the living area feel a touch cramped. If navigating a steep staircase would make you uncomfortable, consider seeking alternative accommodations.

Our spacious luxury A-frame, remodeled in 2022, invites you to relax in modern comfort. A fully equipped chef's kitchen to gigabit Wi-Fi. You will fall in love with the rustic charm of the lofted queen size bed, outdoor hot tub, fire pit, & backup generator keeping you warm & safe.
Whether you're seeking adventure or tranquility, this is your place to escape & recharge.
The space
The cabin is our special place. It is where our young son experienced his first-time fishing, seeing a deer in the wild and making a campfire. We hope that as we open our home up to you and those you hold dear will leave you feeling rested, connected, and adventurous.
Our cabin community is located just off Highway 2 and it can be audible from the front deck. Your cleaning fee goes directly to a local woman owned small business supporting their families. There is no sanitation department in Skykomish, being this remote requires all laundry, garbage, etc to be taken off-site. Thank you for support in these matters.
Our 1,030 sq ft A-frame cabin, fully remodeled in 2022, is the perfect retreat for those seeking modern comforts with rustic charm. Whether you’re hitting the slopes in winter or exploring hiking, mountain biking, or fishing in the summer, our cabin offers the ideal home base. Within Timberlane Village, trails lead to a private community beach on the South Fork of the Skykomish River, complete with new picnic tables and barbecues, offering picturesque views of the river and surrounding forests.
Inside, you'll find a lofted king-size bed and a comfortable queen-size bed downstairs. The cabin is fully furnished with high-quality linens, down comforters, and pillows. The chef's kitchen features a gas stove, new Samsung appliances, high-end cutlery, and all the kitchen essentials you need including specialty Vietnamese coffee from local company 36 Streets. Other amenities include a 55" Smart TV, gigabit Wi-Fi, a selection of board games, and a hot tub just off the new back deck. A backup generator ensures your stay is uninterrupted.
Bookings: We have a 2-day minimum on weekends and only a 1-day minimum on weekdays. For 3 day weekends or holidays please reach out to us as we do book them via inquiry up to 90 days in advance.
Guest access
24-48 hours before your check-in, you will receive an automated door lock code that will show up on Airbnb.
Your code will be active from 4pm on the day of check-in until 11am on the day of check-out.
Please reach out to us if you need some flexibility around these times. There is a lockbox that contains keys to the front and back doors, providing a backup in case of any front door battery issues.
Other things to note
• Parking: Space for 2 vehicles side by side. In winter, the parking may be snowed in; a snow shovel is available in the side storage (code: 1212). The Timberlane Village Community has a strict HOA policy against road parking in winter as it can impede snow removal. There is an audio/video Ring security camera at the front deck.
•Fireplace: The propane fireplace is the primary source of heat in the living room area and is controlled by the remote mounted on the wall to the right of the fireplace. Use the remote to adjust the thermostat and fan as desired. Please set the thermostat to 58 degrees upon departure.
•Heat: Additional heating in the living room, dining room and kitchen is provided by portable inferred heaters located in the hallway closet & bedroom closets. Each bedroom also has an electrical wall heater that can be turned on by turning the dial thermostat. The Bathroom heat is provided by the ceiling heater fan/light via the switches on the wall.
•Motion sensor stair lights: The LED lights on the stairway wall have two settings. If the light switch on the wall at the bottom of the stairs is on (up), the lights will stay on, if the switch is off (down) the lights will be controlled by a motion sensor and will go on as someone walks up or down the stairs at night.
•AeroBed/Pack&Play: For additional sleeping there is a full height queen size AeroBed in the loft bedroom closet along with bedding. The air bed can be set up in the loft or in the living room area. There is a built in electric air pump for the AeroBed. In the downstairs bedroom closet is a Pack & Play for our little guests.
•Grill: There is a propane grill on the back deck with a back-up propane tank. The grill tools are found in the top kitchen counter drawer nearest to the dinning room table.
•Hot Tub: If you plan to use the hot tub, on arrival please check that the temperature is set to 100-104F as sometimes the emergency power breaker trips and it can cool down. It takes roughly 1 hour to raise the temperature 2-5 degrees.
Guests must ALWAYS SHOWER before and after using the hot tub. Please be careful opening and closing the hot tub cover. Gently lift the cover from the front vertically and the support bar will raise it up the rest of the way and hold it in place. If the hot tub is left open for an extended period debris can get sucked into the pump system resulting in damage that a guest could be liable for. Our cleaning team also cleans & services the hot tub and checks for any issues between each booking.
•Outdoor lights: The exterior string lights are on a light sensor and turn on a little after dusk. There is also a manual remote in the house above the fireplace.
•Waste Disposal: Please do not dispose of grease in the sink or disposal-instead, please use the garbage. There is a brown trash can or white recycle bin in the side shed accessible on the front deck, the code is 1212. There are bears, racoons and other forest friends that would love to see what trash was left behind so if you are able please pack your rubbish out with you on departure. If it is not possible you can put it in the receptacles in the shed & say a prayer that we don’t get any un-booked forest guests.
•Septic system: Just like the grease in the sink or other substantial food items please do not put anything in the toilet except for the provided toilet paper. The last thing you want is a sewage back-up to sour your stay.
•No Smoking in the cabin: Our mom gets migraines from cigarette smoke so we really apricate your consideration! All cigarette butts need to be placed in the shed trash can if smoking takes place outside.
•Firewood: Purchase bundles for $5 cash from the vendor stand located before Beckler Road and the Skykomish River bridge on Highway 2.
•Local Dining: Enjoy meals at LouSkis Deli in town. There’s also a bar and coffee shop. For groceries, plan ahead and pack what you need, as there is no grocery store in Skykomish. Basic necessities are available at the Sky Gas Station.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of that, we know it is a lot! We strive to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out through the booking platform.
Enjoy your stay in the heart of the Cascades!

Furry friends are welcome for $50/pet! We welcome all species, sizes, and breeds.
- "We arrived at the gate to the property based on Google Maps, so no worries there (the instructions said to be wary of navigation directions). The key to the gate lock was easy to get, and we kept it with us the whole time even though it wasn’t clear that’s what we should do. There were no issues getting in the house. The accommodations were adequate for us (4 guests) and we didn’t need to access the basement. There was one small wedge of fire starter and no kindling inside, but there was sufficient paper and we found a short length of 2x6 in the wood pile outside under the front steps, so we chopped that up with the hatchet provided and that enabled us to have more than one fire. The instructions for the wood burning stove were very well written. We had a successful fire each day and careful use of the damper conserved firewood. The only issue with the wood is the access. There are large rocks in front of the woodpile under the front steps, and it was hard on the ankles to walk over them to get to the wood while at the same time bending over to get under the porch. There was a nice dense piece of wood to use as a chopping block to split the wood. There was another woodpile under the back deck, but there were signs and caution tape and a sign to stay away from that area, but it wasn’t clear what the danger was other than to not walk under the eaves. Ominous and mysterious, so we stayed away just in case. We rated low in cleanliness because the fans and vents were dirty."

Other things to note
-communication
Our area has many places where there is little to no cell reception so please do not rely on internet based apps such as a map app to get to your property. We will provide the best contact number to reach us once you have booked. During your stay, you will receive the fastest response by calling (leave a message if no answer), message through Airbnb or texting us as we are not monitoring emails 24/7.

This is a cabin in the woods in the mountains: This is a cabin in a rural / semi-rural setting where weather, wildlife including pests, utility outages, road conditions and other impacts from being in a wilderness setting exist. Although we do regular pest control and have stellar cleaning service, even the newest homes can have uninvited pests. If you already know the site of one will ruin your stay, take this opportunity to rebook your vacation in a setting not surrounded by wilderness. Otherwise, you are accepting in this agreement that you understand that occasional wildlife and insects not ordinarily seen in other settings may be on the property. Guests are expected to be prepared with aws / 4wd or chains to handle driving in inclement/ winter weather. Guests are expected to be able to manage common home operations such as resetting a breaker, unclogging a toilet or using the fireplace. Guests understand that internet and power outages are beyond management's control and although management can help report such outages, ongoing updates and resolutions come from the utility companies directly.
-Neighbors
All our homes feel private, often surrounded by thick trees and wilderness, and hot tubs are all private- just for you- and situated so that you will feel like there is no one else around so guests return home feeling relaxed and refreshed. But- we are just an hour from Seattle and population continues to grow, so keep in mind that most of these homes are in communities with neighboring houses. "Secluded" in our area usually means off-grid with no power or water which are amenities we would prefer to provide!
-Utilities
Our homes are all on wells or have systems that bring water from the river. It is then thoroughly filtered and all systems have been tested to assure it is potable water. However, minerals in the ground often may add an orange taint that can stain spas, toilets, sinks and tubs. Do not be alarmed, it is just something that happens when the water table changes.
Power outages may happen and are often resolved quite quickly unless caused by inclement weather. If your life depends on constant electricity or internet access, staying in the wilderness in a national forest is not advised. Well pumps are also run by electricity so in case of power outages, the water will also be out. We provide emergency lighting, some emergency water, water from spas can be poured in a toilet to flush and most homes have firewood for heat, so guests have the option to wait it out or depart and receive a 30% refund of the nights impacted as per Airbnb’s Extenuating Circumstances policy. We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance, especially during the months of inclement weather when outages can be frequent.
-River
The river changes with the seasons, and each year banks and access points may change as well, so we are unable to make any guarantees on what the condition of the river or access will be but we do our best to maintain access during warmer months. Many of our homes are set between waterfalls. If you plan on navigating the river in boats or floats, please be sure you know the river well or contact someone that does (us, Alpine Adventures, or Outdoor Adventure Center). Children should never be unattended at the river (or in spas). Life jackets are recommended, especially for children, but not provided. The spring months of April - June/ early July tend to be the most dangerous because the weather gets hot, the river looks cool, and everyone wants to swim- but at these times the river is swift and cold from snow melt and the undercurrent is deadly. Please use caution! Please also make sure to check current fishing regulations if you plan on fishing.
-Usage
Owners are sharing their private homes with you, so please honor this privilege by being a respectful guest and neighbor. Events, parties, or gatherings with non-paying guests are not allowed and occupancy is strictly enforced. Pets need to be kept on a leash when out and about and clean up your pet waste. Firearms and fireworks are strictly forbidden!! It is important we all follow these easy rules so counties and neighborhoods will continue to welcome vacation rentals and their guests. Thank you!
-Make sure you've received your "Final Arrival Instructions" link before you go
A week before your arrival, we will send your "Final Arrival Instructions" link via text or Airbnb, and this will have all the information you need to get to, and into, the cabin including access codes and directions. It is important you have this info available offline when you go as cell reception may be spotty on the way. We encourage you to follow our detailed directions, not gps.
-Make sure your guest and pet count are correct
Double check your details, including guest and pet count, to be sure we have the correct information. If you wish to have visiting guests, please let us know in advance so we do not assume they are unauthorized nightly guests. Pets are welcome for just $50 each. The space
Our 1,000 SF cabin was built in 1926, but has been updated throughout the years. The fully equipped kitchen and appliances were replaced, bedroom rebuilt, loft access upgraded and living room updated in 2019 and 2020. New siding was added in 2023, and the bathroom was refurbished in 2024. You'll enjoy spending family time around our fire pit area (gas only), built in 2020. Storage is available for skis, mountain bikes and other outdoor equipment in on-site outbuildings.
The house features a quaint open-concept living area with two sleeper sofas, TV and electric fireplace. A mini-split system heats and cools the cabin to a cozy temperature all year long. The upstairs loft features ample space for kids to play, accessed by “tiny house” style ladder stairs. The bedroom houses a queen bed, electric fireplace and TV. An eat-in kitchen is equipped with all the pots, pans, dishes, and utensils you'll need to seat and feed up to 5, or eat at the table and chairs on the back deck.
Guest access
Access to the whole house, firepit and outbuilding for storing outdoor equipment.
Other things to note
• There is no grocery store in Skykomish. There is a Family Grocer in Gold Bar. The closest major supermarkets are Fred Meyer and Safeway – both located in Monroe.
• There is not a standard coffee maker, only a single serve Keurig.
• There is a firepit with a propane burning pit available, but no wood burning pit. No wood burning is allowed on the property.
• The house is old and on the edge of the woods; wildlife is plentiful and sometimes can make its way inside, including flies, mosquitos, bees, and field mice. We do our best to seal the house, but sometimes nature finds a way in.
Both cats and dogs have been present at the property, if you have any allergic sensitivities.

Built in 1915, this three bedroom 1160 sq. foot home has plenty of room to relax after adventures in the Cascades. It has a wonderful woodstove to curl up and read a book by.

Other things to note
Disclaimer: Skykomish is a lovely town close to Stevens Pass but in the winter may experience heavy snow sometimes during the winter which could result in pass closures, power and cell phone outages. The house is equipped with lanterns, wood heat, a propane stove for cooking and shovels for snow should it occur during your stay, but we suggest bringing some extra provisions, just in case. Be aware that especially during the summer there may be bears in town. The upstairs bedrooms can get warm on the hotter days of summer. There is a portable AC unit in one of the upstairs bedrooms.
Our hygge Viking cabin in the Washington woods is called Bifröst. You can cozy up by the wood-burning stove or roast marshmallows in the fire pit. We like to sit on the deck sipping coffee overlooking the river. Hot cocoa and stroopwafels included!
By car, it is 16 minutes to Stevens Pass for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and snowshoeing.

The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, dishes, coffee, cocoa, and stroopwafels.
Sustainability notes:
- No animal products are used in Bifröst's furnishings.
- All of Bifröst's electricity comes from renewable resources like wind and solar, as we are enrolled in the PSE Green Power program.
Guest access
You have Bifröst to yourself. We live two hours away in Seattle and won't be available physically.
There is a large driveway, with room for 2 cars in the winter or 4 in the summer.
Other things to note
Winter warnings: You must have chains, AWD, or 4WD to visit during the winter. The neighborhood roads are plowed but not heavily, so there is still chance of getting stuck on them without any of these. The Bifröst driveway is not plowed.
Heavy snowstorms can sometimes knock out power for multiple days. These are rare but they can happen. Be sure to have food and water on hand that doesn't need power to cook.
We follow Airbnb's Party and Events Policy, which currently has a global ban on all parties at Airbnb listings.

Our pretty mountain cabin is called "Beaver Pond Lodging". Because of the beaver, our cabin, on over an acre adjoining the national forest, comes with a pretty pond. Our cabin is great for a staycation, as a work-from-home alternative, or for families.
The space
This pretty, cozy cabin is a year around spot for recreation. From skiing/snow boarding, river rafting, fishing, mountain biking and hiking, you will find it to be a perfect location.
Also our cabin is great for a staycation, as a work-from-home alternative, or for families. Take advantage of our greatly reduced monthly rates.
With the exception of our mud room entrance, she is wall to wall beautiful hardwood floors with wool area rugs. We used nature colors for the outdoor enthusiast to feel right at home.
Our kitchen has stainless appliances and comes heavily stocked with plenty of appliances, cooking utensils, dishes and staples to make cooking really easy and fun. Just bring your fresh ingredients and you will be set to go.
All our beds are memory foam mattresses. The bedding is all nice, cozy and warm flannel sheets in the winter and organic sheets in the summer. There are down pillows and some foam pillows.
The master is a queen size log bed, that has its own bathroom, coffee service, chest of drawers, chair, 43" flat screen 4K Smart TV for watching netflix, a walk in closet with a barn door, and a sliding door out to a private deck and beautiful mountain/forest/pond view.
The guest bedroom has queen size bed, 42” flat screen 4K smart TV for watching Netflix, a desk with some office supplies, chest-of drawers, chair and a closet.
In the hallway, we have created 2 unique sleeping cubbies each for 1 person. We call them bear caves. They are like twin beds but enclosed in an opening 79" long, 39" high, and 32" wide. They were uniquely designed with kids in mind but adults seem to like them too as each private cave comes with its own lights and electric plug-ins for your devices.
Both bathrooms are stocked with lots of pretty towels and plenty of toiletries. The bath/showers are well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body gels, etc.
Each room has separate heaters for individual temperature control. We also have a propane fireplace in the living room that works even if you lose power.
We have Starlink so our internet service is very strong. In addition our flat screen TVs are 4K smart TVs with Netflix, Pandora, etc. We also provide xbox.
We have a game table with plenty of games and an on going puzzle to add a few pieces. (Chess, backgammon, checkers, yahtzee, scrabble, dominos, cribbage, and Apples to Apples, just to name a few)
We encourage people to go outside so if you feel like chillin at the cabin, weather permitting, we provide outdoor games like horseshoes, tic-tac-toe, Jenka, bowling, and bag toss . We have a fire pit and plenty of firewood but must check whether burn ban is in effect or not before building small campfire. A choice of Traeger grill and a large propane grill is provided for all you grill masters. There is a chair set up for overlooking the beaver pond for ultimate relaxation. The beavers, however, are not currently in residence.
After a day full of extreme activities on the slopes, hiking, river rafting or rock climbing enjoy a massage right here at the cabin by Kelsey. There are brochures in our guestbook. We suggest you book in advance to assure she is available. Joni can help you with this reservation if you want to book in advance of your arrival date.

Skykomish is an historic train town so you will hear the trains as they go through town blowing their warning train whistle. In addition, we are only a few doors down from the fire station. If someone calls 911 in the area, a warning siren goes off. This is only brought to your attention so you don't need to be concerned when you hear them.
We also have security cameras on outside perimeter only just for monitoring if a break-in should ever occur. We want to assure you that your privacy is of utmost importance to us.

We expect pet waste to be picked up and properly bagged in outdoor trash bins. Pets absolutely cannot be left in homes unattended unless they are crated!

Events, parties, or gatherings with non-paying guests are not allowed and occupancy is strictly enforced. Pets need to be kept on a leash when out and about and clean up your pet waste.
We expect pet waste to be picked up and properly bagged in outdoor trash bins. Pets absolutely cannot be left in homes unattended unless they are crated!

Other things to note

Other things to note
Access to the upper bedrooms involves a secure and fixed "ladder" with a steep incline, requiring a reasonable level of physical ability. This ladder, though it resembles one, is not a staircase. It does however have wide treads. Most people have absolutely no issues with this, but please be aware that this design may present challenges for individuals with disabilities, compromised physical ability, or young children. Prioritizing safety, we provide this information to give you full understanding of the unique access!

Thank you!
-Make sure you've received your "Final Arrival Instructions" email before you go
A week before your arrival, we will send your "Final Arrival Instructions" via email, and this will have all the information you need to get to, and into, the cabin including access codes and directions. It is important you have this document available offline when you go as cell reception may be spotty on the way.
We expect pet waste to be picked up and properly bagged in outdoor trash bins. Pets absolutely cannot be left in homes unattended unless they are crated!

There is no sanitation department in Skykomish, being this remote requires all laundry, garbage, etc., to be taken off-site.

We expect pet waste to be picked up and properly bagged in outdoor trash bins. Pets absolutely cannot be left in homes unattended unless they are crated!

Other things to note
Note: There are extranal cameras at the front of the home facing the driveway, and at the back door. In the living room, there is a motion detector mounted on the wall next to the bar seating area, which is a remnant of the once-functional 1970s alarm system. It no longer works, but looks cool.

The cabin is tucked in Timberlane Village, with access to three HOA-maintained beaches, quiet forest paths, and the South Fork Skykomish River—perfect for a cold plunge or a peaceful moment by the water.
