Although we arrived before the 4pm check in time we were able to check in at 2pm as our room was ready. We paid for a pool view but the room was facing the side of a building and we had to lean out and look to the right to see the pool. We were able to relocate so that we would have clear view of the pool. When we went to the 2nd room the door was locked from the inside and maintenance had to get into the room, upon doing so the door frame broke. We are now after 3pm and a 3rd room. The front desk was amazing and made it right by giving us a room with an ocean view. As short as our stay was, it was nice and all is good with a great location, customer service, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms/amenities. I would rate it a 4 but they get a 5 because with all that went and could have gone wrong, they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! I would highly recommend the ocean view for the beauty but mostly because the very loud construction noise could not be heard over the peaceful sound of the waves. "

As expected on a houseboat, space was more of a premium than in a condo. A restaurant, bar and donut shop are in close walking distance. Parking is free, but you should be sensitive that the marina is part of a working boat yard and don't park to obstruct traffic in and out. The toilet got numerous mentions in other reviews. Just follow the instructions on the wall. Fill the pitcher from the shower, pour in some water, close the lid and push the button. No paper or other items allowed in the toilet. The shower was a bit cool, and the plumbing needs some attention since there were small leaks from the valves. Overall we had a good and unique experience with our stay on the houseboat. Recommended for the adventuresome."

To maintain the quality and cleanliness of our linens and Towels, we kindly ask guests to avoid using them for any items that may cause stains or discoloration, such as makeup, hair dye, tanning products, or coloring sticks. Many of these substances cannot be removed easily, and in some cases, the stains are permanent. When this happens, the linens must be disposed of and replaced, which comes at an additional cost. If our cleaning team provides a photo report of stained or damaged linens beyond normal use, a replacement or cleaning fee will be charged to the guest. A private room in a spacious home in the middle of town. Guests are welcome to use all spaces (Kitchen, Porch, Backyard, etc). 10min to downtown and both bases, 12min to the beach! Room has a Twin bed and a chair/desk. Pets may be welcome on a case-by-case basis.

My dog Lila and my cat Casey are both extremely friendly. I keep both out of the guest room at all times to keep it hair and dander free for guests. I clean very frequently to keep the shared spaces hair-free as well.

Each room features a fully stocked kitchenette with a coffee bar, cookware, plates, utensils, a two-burner stovetop, fridge, freezer, and microwave, allowing you to prepare your meals with ease. You will access your room via the smart lock on the door anytime during your stay. The code will be sent to you prior to check-in (easy-peasy!) and will be functional from your check-in time to check-out time.

You will be hard-pressed to find a spot that you can't walk to - there are some awesome restaurants and activities right nearby!

Other things to note
Seaside Escape is a limited-service, 8-unit boutique property. While there is no on-site management, our cleaning team is on the property daily and can assist when needed. Extra supplies are available in the shared laundry/supply room, and we’re always a message or call away!

This is not a secluded stay—other guests will be in the building. While the rooms are private and newly renovated, sound may carry due to thin walls.

Early check-in/late check-out is not guaranteed but we’ll do our best to accommodate if possible.

The property is located one block off Eglin Parkway, in an older, revitalizing part of town. It’s tucked between two businesses, and while the property is well-lit, the surrounding street may feel dim at night. A nearby club can cause noise on Saturday nights, and occasional sirens may be heard due to the police/fire station a block away. Despite this, the area is safe and secure.

All guests must complete third-party screening and sign a rental agreement. Let us know if you’d like to review the agreement before booking.
