- "Just as advertised, the Lake Cottage was a great place for our dog -- a Westie/Brussels Mix, weighing 23 pounds. He loved roaming around in the fully fenced back yard. And when his sniffari was complete, basking in the sunshine was just as good. Granted, a very active large breed dog might be short on space. But for small breed dogs, this is perfect. The Laundry Room doubled as a staging area for the Dog Yard. Many useful items are stocked, including water & feeding bowls; pads & blankets; the necessary and proper plastic bags. A crate is available with advance notice. But our dog felt so at home the crate proved to be unnecessary. The humans were also well taken care of. The Welcome Basket was much appreciated. We did use the well stocked Kitchen for cooking. Discovering the "Secret Toilet" upstairs was fun. Now that's a Water Closet! And having a 2nd Restroom did prove to be useful. Communicating with Owners David & Sarah was easy & pleasant. You aren't on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution, but the location is very good if your visit includes that destination. It's an easy three mile commute. Be sure to turn right into the Visitors' Parking Lot; then take the shuttle bus to the Main Gate. Walking to the Main Gate is also an option. But while walking, don't be surprised if one of the friendly bus drivers offers you a lift while you're en route. FWIW, we came for National Parks Week. We hope to return for another stay in the Summer of '24!"

This 1889 farm house has been newly remodeled and updated , Its located right across from the comfort inn and right off the exit of I-86. Its 10 mins from peek n peak ,20 mins to Erie Pa. - "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cute and charming cottage right in the heart of everything Bemus Point has to offer. The unit is much larger than it seems on-site and is furnished to suit anyone's needs, the bed was really comfortable and the little extras were a nice touch. We also loved the outdoor space and particularly relaxing in the rockers on the front porch. The bathroom is very, very small so if you're big & tall or need a larger bathroom, I'd suggest looking at one of the other 2 rental units on-site. We were in town for a wedding and had to reach out to the host a couple times and Ken couldn't have been better. He was responsive and quick to provide anything needed. I would definitely recommend any of this host's properties to anyone considering a stay in the area - and the area is absolutely worth the visit!"

- "Awesome cabin on the eastern side of the lake, the sunsets were absolutely beautiful. Cabin was well equipped, kitchen and bath is small but very doable. This beautiful one bedroom-one bathroom apartment is less than 1/2 mile to the heart of Bemus Point! It has beautiful engineered hard wood floors with radiant heat and cathedral ceilings for an open concept space that is very comfortable. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, yet very close to all that Bemus Point and Chautauqua Lake have to offer in the summer or on the snowmobile trail and close to ski resorts in the winter, you have found where you want to be. The major appliances were new in summer 2021 and several other small appliances include coffee maker, toaster, blender, food processor and even a KitchenAid mixer. There is a man's and woman's bike available, if you let us know you would like to use them.

This property is just before the North/Elm Lane entrance to the world famous Chautauqua Institution! As a guest you will have all the convenience of being just 25 steps to the North gate and a trolley/bus stop picking up every 15 minutes or short 5-minute walk to the heart of the Institution!

At the same time, you're not required to have a full day pass unless you want to pay for it! Pick and choose your times and days according to your schedule and desired activities as opposed to being required to have a pass just to get to your place of stay! This is the best location at Chautauqua Institution, directly on the town square, Bestor Plaza, in an elevator, air-conditioned building that is a new all-steel fireproof construction (1988) carefully designed and decorated to fit into Victorian Chautauqua. The lower level offers shops, a spa, and deli in season. Everything is at your fingertips.
Unit #315 is a quiet efficiency apartment on the third floor on Ames Avenue. Just cross the Plaza is the Post Office, Chautauqua Bookstore, Library, Afterwords Cafe. Also Brickwalk Cafe and Coffee Kiosk in season. A few more steps and you will enjoy all that the Amphitheater and Hall of Philosophy have to offer.

There are residents living in other apartments in the building, all friendly and quiet. The building is over 100 years old so it's not modern or fancy, just comfortable and affordable if that's what you're looking for.

The space
This is a standard 1 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor in a building with other renters. You have access to the entire apartment. You only share the hallway to the apartment door, once you're inside the apartment, it is completely private. The residents and dogs living in the building are all friendly.

The street parking is free but from October 1st - March 31st we are required to move sides of the road daily at 10am. So please take this into consideration if you are here for work at hours when this might be an inconvenience. From April 1st - September 30th we alternate sides of the street monthly.

The kitchen is equipped with all the tools to make meals and more. There is a small full bathroom with a claw foot bathtub (which may be hard to get in and out of for those with mobility issues) and a bedroom with a cozy queen bed. If you are staying with multiple people, please note that there is no door on the bedroom.

As you can see from the photos, there is no dining table, most people just use the coffee table or desk in the living room or the TV trays next to the book shelf. The yard and porch are common areas so feel free to enjoy them. There is no cable or broadcast TV so we provide WIFI and a Roku to access your Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. If you don't have an account, just let us know and we will log into ours for short term stays.

We're not trying to be modern or fancy, just a clean, affordable and cozy spot with pretty much all the amenities you will need so if you're looking for something upscale, we recommend you try one of the nice cottages on the lake or the Thurston Terrace apartment downtown Jamestown.

You share the entrance hallway with the residents living in the building as well as the porch and yard, but feel free to enjoy the furnished front porch and large yard. Once you're inside the apartment, it is private. It is street parking only, but it is free. We alternate sides of the street monthly from April 1st - Sept 30th. We alternate sides of the street daily from October 1st - March 31st.

Please review the descriptions and photos carefully. This building is over 100 years old, so no, it's not the Ritz, it needs some exterior updates and the inside of the apartment is not modern or fancy, but if you're looking for an affordable, clean and comfortable fully furnished apartment with most of the amenities you will need, then the Cheby Manor is your place to stay. If you need anything during your stay or have any concerns, please message us.

Our apartment is not suitable for children and infants. If you're staying with multiple people, notice from the photos that there is no door on the bedroom.

There is one window air conditioner and it's in the bedroom, we do not have central air.

If anything is broken or ruined during your stay, please let us know so we know it has to be replaced. Please note, if you break the blinds during your stay, we will request the money to replace them so please be careful while opening and closing the blinds.

If you are bringing your pet with you for only a night or 2, you can add them as a 3rd or 4th guest at the time you make your reservation. So if you are just one person and bringing your dog, please book for 3 guests and notify us in a message that it will be you and your pet staying. A third or fourth guest just adds a few extra dollars to cover the extra time needed to clean up pet hair and such rather than the full $20 listed with pet fee. We do have 3 other dogs that live in the building so your dog must be friendly.

If you are bringing your pet with you for more than 3 nights, book with the $20 pet fee. Stays over 1 week with a pet, stays with cats and/or multiple animals may have an additional refundable deposit of $50-$100 per stay depending on the length of your stay. We like to give responsible pet owners a break who will keep up after their pet so if you take care of the place and clean up after your pet, you won't be responsible for more than $20. If your cat likes to sit in the window, please be aware there will be an additional fee for blind replacement and labor if they are broken.

This 1889 newly remodeled farm house is located right across the road from the Comfort Inn and right off the Findley lake exit. Its 10 mins from peek n peak ski resort. Short 20 mins to Erie, Pa and 10 mins from Northeast ,PA. The kitchen has a refrigerator , microwave ,stove and all the gadgets you need to cook with. The Townhouse at Bally Lough, in rural NY, 2 miles from Findley Lake, overlooks our own private 2 acre pond. The Kinal property includes 60 wooded acres crossed by trails for hiking, snowshoeing or even X-country skiing.

Furnished with the personal furniture and art collected by the owners over many years, the townhouse includes master bedroom, large kitchen, combo living room/dining room, and up and down-stairs baths.

The space
The wood accented living room with cathedral ceiling provides dramatic setting for some of our favorite art.

We love the many different views of the pond from each room.

Two futons create space for additional guests, as couches in the day and semiprivate sleeping at night. A sound system offers the option of music.

Two Townhouses sitting side by side at the Bally Lough property, along with a cottage shouting distance away, are the only inhabited homes on Constance Pond.

Parking spaces in front of each townhouse provide parking for each guest.
Currently, the left townhouse (north) is the home of the proprietors, inhabited only during May-October. The right side (south) accommodates guests as a vacation rental.

New sidewalk should make winter access much improved.

On-the-ground management maintain relations with guests when the proprietors are not in residence.
