- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cute and charming cottage right in the heart of everything Bemus Point has to offer. The unit is much larger than it seems on-site and is furnished to suit anyone's needs, the bed was really comfortable and the little extras were a nice touch. We also loved the outdoor space and particularly relaxing in the rockers on the front porch. The bathroom is very, very small so if you're big & tall or need a larger bathroom, I'd suggest looking at one of the other 2 rental units on-site. We were in town for a wedding and had to reach out to the host a couple times and Ken couldn't have been better. He was responsive and quick to provide anything needed. I would definitely recommend any of this host's properties to anyone considering a stay in the area - and the area is absolutely worth the visit!"

This property is just before the North/Elm Lane entrance to the world famous Chautauqua Institution! As a guest you will have all the convenience of being just 25 steps to the North gate and a trolley/bus stop picking up every 15 minutes or short 5-minute walk to the heart of the Institution!

At the same time, you're not required to have a full day pass unless you want to pay for it! Pick and choose your times and days according to your schedule and desired activities as opposed to being required to have a pass just to get to your place of stay! - "This was a charming place right in the heart of Bemus point. We had everything we needed for a little getaway. The owner takes great pride in presenting a welcoming environment. It was very appreciated!" - "The location of this building is amazing. You can walk to all the hot spots in Bemus within minutes. As for the studio, the amount of space worked well for my family of 4 with two little ones. I do wish I would have known it was the basement of the house. Basements can be musty and hard to dry the floors were constantly sticky and dirty we did our best to combat that with the air conditioner to get air movement. If you are planning to use the futon couch as a bed I suggest you bring an air mattress to lay on instead there's a big bar in the middle that is quite uncomfortable. Communication and texts from the owner were great. When I asked about the protocol for the shared laundry he responded quickly. It worked for us, but for our yearly Bemus trip we will find another place that is not a basement."

The basement level meant it was often cool enough not to need to use the AC, though having the central AC as opposed to noisy window AC units like we had last year at Chautauqua was a huge upgrade for us when we needed it. - "We decided to go to Jamestown to visit the Comedy Hall of Fame. We decided on this condo and community as it was near the lake. Also was close to wine country on Lake Erie. Both were worth the visit. The owner Samuel was very helpful during our stay plus giving us suggestions for Dinning out." - "Upon arrival we were greeted by a great staffer then everything changed when we opened the door to our rental. First AC was not working, TV was not working and the disposal. There were large gouge marks in the 1970’s vinyl flooring in entry and Kitchen area and the bathroom vinyl flooring was pulling away from the walls and tub and on either side of the toilet. The refrigerator is old and has ice so thick it’s pushing on the freezer door. The carpet is soiled. I am not the only one who had problems with this unit, the complaints go back to 2018. The bed was great, The location was good. This unit sadly shows lack of updates and care. I will not be using Vrbo again."

This is the best location at Chautauqua Institution, directly on the town square, Bestor Plaza, in an elevator, air-conditioned building that is a new all-steel fireproof construction (1988) carefully designed and decorated to fit into Victorian Chautauqua. The lower level offers shops, a spa, and deli in season. Everything is at your fingertips.
Unit #315 is a quiet efficiency apartment on the third floor on Ames Avenue. Just cross the Plaza is the Post Office, Chautauqua Bookstore, Library, Afterwords Cafe. Also Brickwalk Cafe and Coffee Kiosk in season. A few more steps and you will enjoy all that the Amphitheater and Hall of Philosophy have to offer.

The building is over 100 years old so it's not modern or fancy, just comfortable and affordable if that's what you're looking for.

The space
This is a standard 1 bedroom apartment on the 1st floor in a building with other renters. You have access to the entire apartment. You only share the hallway to the apartment door, once you're inside the apartment, it is completely private. The residents and dogs living in the building are all friendly.

The street parking is free but from October 1st - March 31st we are required to move sides of the road daily at 10am. So please take this into consideration if you are here for work at hours when this might be an inconvenience. From April 1st - September 30th we alternate sides of the street monthly.

The kitchen is equipped with all the tools to make meals and more. There is a small full bathroom with a claw foot bathtub (which may be hard to get in and out of for those with mobility issues) and a bedroom with a cozy queen bed. If you are staying with multiple people, please note that there is no door on the bedroom.

As you can see from the photos, there is no dining table, most people just use the coffee table or desk in the living room or the TV trays next to the book shelf. The yard and porch are common areas so feel free to enjoy them. There is no cable or broadcast TV so we provide WIFI and a Roku to access your Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. If you don't have an account, just let us know and we will log into ours for short term stays.

We're not trying to be modern or fancy, just a clean, affordable and cozy spot with pretty much all the amenities you will need so if you're looking for something upscale, we recommend you try one of the nice cottages on the lake or the Thurston Terrace apartment downtown Jamestown.

Guests have access to the entire apartment. You share the entrance hallway with the residents living in the building as well as the porch and yard, but feel free to enjoy the furnished front porch and large yard. Once you're inside the apartment, it is private. It is street parking only, but it is free. We alternate sides of the street monthly from April 1st - Sept 30th. We alternate sides of the street daily from October 1st - March 31st.

Other things to note
Please review the descriptions and photos carefully. This building is over 100 years old, so no, it's not the Ritz, it needs some exterior updates and the inside of the apartment is not modern or fancy, but if you're looking for an affordable, clean and comfortable fully furnished apartment with most of the amenities you will need, then the Cheby Manor is your place to stay. If you need anything during your stay or have any concerns, please message us.

Our apartment is not suitable for children and infants. If you're staying with multiple people, notice from the photos that there is no door on the bedroom.

There is one window air conditioner and it's in the bedroom, we do not have central air.

If anything is broken or ruined during your stay, please let us know so we know it has to be replaced. Please note, if you break the blinds during your stay, we will request the money to replace them so please be careful while opening and closing the blinds.

If you are bringing your pet with you for only a night or 2, you can add them as a 3rd or 4th guest at the time you make your reservation. So if you are just one person and bringing your dog, please book for 3 guests and notify us in a message that it will be you and your pet staying. A third or fourth guest just adds a few extra dollars to cover the extra time needed to clean up pet hair and such rather than the full $20 listed with pet fee. We do have 3 other dogs that live in the building so your dog must be friendly.

If you are bringing your pet with you for more than 3 nights, book with the $20 pet fee. Stays over 1 week with a pet, stays with cats and/or multiple animals may have an additional refundable deposit of $50-$100 per stay depending on the length of your stay. We like to give responsible pet owners a break who will keep up after their pet so if you take care of the place and clean up after your pet, you won't be responsible for more than $20. If your cat likes to sit in the window, please be aware there will be an additional fee for blind replacement and labor if they are broken.

As avid travelers ourselves, we designed a space where we would love to stay. Special amenities include an open-plan living space to socialize with your friends, high end cooking pots/pans/utensils for creating meals at the apartment and thoughtful lighting. The two bedrooms are cozy and the beds are comfortable complete with 100% organic cotton sheets. Our goal was to incorporate lots of natural building techniques into the renovation including lime plaster in the kitchen and bathroom as well as rejuvenating the original pine flooring in the kitchen and repurposing "barnwood-like" planks found on the walls while renovating the space.

Lake access: Chautauqua Lake has only 2.6 miles of public access shoreline. Our property is not part of those 2.6 miles, but we have scenic lake views. We believe we live in a beautiful neighborhood and think that you will agree.

Other things to note
If you are planning to bring a dog, please inform us so that we can get the space ready for your four-legged friends. This involves putting on a couch protector and providing a black trashcan for bagged dog waste to the left of the door. Dogs are also to be leashed once they are out of the apartment. Please do not let your dog go to the bathroom in our vegetable garden.

No cats allowed.

We have a young daughter who we put to bed around 7:30 - 8pm. She may sometimes cry for five minutes or so when we put her down.

Note - our house is over 100 years old and you will likely hear some noise as we walk around, especially the gallop of a toddler.

The 19th century building features high ceilings and lots of stairs. Not recommended if you have mobility issues.

Early in and Late out can be very difficult to arrange due to our generous check-out time of 11:00. Please plan accordingly unless it's of the utmost importance so that we can thoroughly clean during our short four hour window. Thanks!!!

There is a $25/hr. charge if there is extensive cleaning or damage beyond our normal guests. This would require EXTENSIVE cleaning or several washings.

Pet-friendly to us means we welcome pets as family, but expect the owners to be responsible. For example, if your dog sheds a ton and sleeps with you put down a provided washable throw. In event we must wash bedding multiple times to remove hair there would be a charge. Likewise, if it's muddy out and you let your dog all over furnishings and we have to shampoo furnishing there would be a charge.

Welcome to our loft, centrally located in Mayville, NY. We've brought back the original tin ceilings while modernizing the unit for comfort in a 1901 storefront. Walking in you'll find brick veneer with high windows and hardwood flooring. The loft has a great view from 8 new windows with darkening shades. We are a 2.5 mi hike into Long Pt. State Park, 3 mi. to Midway Amusement Park & 15 min to Chautauqua Institution. Peek n' Peak 19 mi., Holiday Valley 38 mi. Hop on your sled, in your boat or right onto I86 for some skiing, antiquing, wineries & more..or just enjoy.

The space
We are for four seasons! You are on the Ellery Sno-Cruiser trail for snowmobiling. Peak n' Peek 19 mi., Holiday Valley 38 mi. You can either enjoy nice weather on your private deck as well as a fire pit or enormous patio that sits next to our Bemus Creek.

You are conveniently located up and extra wide, well-lit staircase with a deli, pizzeria, liquor store, groceries & laundromat in the same building. We also have fuel and non-ethanol for you snowmobiles, boats, jet skis and travel needs!

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. It is the perfect place to recharge after a busy day exploring the Chautauqua region. We are located in a very quiet rural area that is minutes away from Chautauqua Lake and the charming village of Bemus Point. If mountain biking and beers are your thing, you'll have a blast exploring the many trails and breweries our area has to offer. Leave the cleaning to us. It's your vacation! The owners, two lovely dogs, and two bee hives are on premises.

The space
The apartment is attached to our home but is very private. There is a deck with comfortable chairs and a gas fire pit to enjoy in the evenings. If you would like to explore the "shared space" there is a duck pond, lots of woods, berry bushes and a lovely firefly habitat. The night sky is beautiful.

The driveway is a horseshoe shape driveway, when entering the lower driveway you will see the apartment with the guest parking nearest to the south end of the house. Everything on this side will by yours, although you might share a moment or two with one or both of our dogs. And no matter what they tell you, they are not allowed to have people food.

Our one bedroom apartment , one full tub shower bathroom apartment and kitchenette is centrally located to all of Chautauqua Lake's attractions, while peacefully tucked away in a private neighborhood. The apartment is a second story space with a beautiful view of Chautauqua Lake. We have lake access just a few steps away with a space for your boat!!

The space

The Garden Studio (basement, down one flight of stairs), new in 2010 and nicely furnished in a relaxed contemporary Swedish style is bright and airy with 12 feet of windows on a light well.

The space
NOTE: During the program season (June 26 - August 27 in 2021) you must purchase a GATE PASS from Chautauqua Institution.

Our Garden Studio (basement, down 1 flight of stairs) is brand new in 2010 and fully furnished in a relaxed modern style with Swedish touches by my wife, who's family are of the Jamestown Swedish community. Välkommen! Everything is kept sparkling clean by our long-time helpers, and Meg and I take a lot of pride in helping our guests have a pleasant and rewarding time at Chautauqua.
37 Foster has a prime location in Chautauqua, 1 block from the Brick Walk, mid-way between the Amphitheatre and the Hall of Philosophy. It's just a few blocks to the lake. The tram stops at our corner, and the Children's School bus stops nearby.
The Garden Studio has it's own outdoor sitting area upstairs in the yard, A/C, floor heating, WiFi, Flat screen TV, Streaming TV, all the modern kitchen conveniences, and an oversize shower, We provide all linens, towels, kitchen utensils, dishes, silverware, everything you need to just unpack and enjoy.
There are many dining places a short walk away, from the 19th century elegance of the Athenaeum Hotel, to the casual dining of the Brick Walk Cafe. In addition, you can find a a wide range of restaurants, including some lakeside dining places, a short drive away.
If there is any way we can be of help, we look forward to hearing your questions. During the Chautauqua Season we rent by the week, Saturday to Saturday. If you are new to Chautauqua, we recommend its web site, which you can find by searching "Chautauqua Institution" for information about the fabulous entertainment, culture, and education available during the summer season.

Parking during the Program Season is in a reserved spot that we provide in the South Lot 2 blocks from the house. Otherwise, parking is usually available at the house. Confirm that with us.

This historic, two-story row house apartment is located in the heart of downtown Jamestown.

The space
The apartment is a second + third floor walkup, designed with an eclectic mix of new and vintage furniture, local art, and modern essentials.

The lower level features a small, fully equipped kitchen, dining for 4+, and spacious living room. Plenty of space to sit, eat, work, and relax.

The upper level has two bedrooms and newly remodeled bathroom with huge walk-in shower and washer/dryer. The front bedroom features a king bed with 50" smart TV, and the rear bedroom features a queen bed with 42" smart TV. The linens are all cotton, and each bedroom has plenty of dresser and closet space for your clothes.

During your stay, you'll have access to the entire apartment, as well as a small shared porch outside of rear entrance.

Other things to note
The apartment is located directly above a bar/lounge. It's a very chill establishment, but you may hear some music and conversational noise in the lower level until 11p or 12a. The upstairs bedrooms are mostly isolated from this. The vast majority of people have not had an issue with the noise, but there will be earplugs available if needed.

The 19th century building features high ceilings and lots of stairs. Not recommended if you have mobility issues.

Parking is available on the street during the day, and in a garage a short block away overnight.
