Village of Bernex, 12 kilometers from Evian les Bains, a pretty unspoiled family-friendly ski resort open in winter - with adjustments depending on the snow level - from early December to early April. 5 minutes away (really 5 minutes!) by car from the bottom of the slopes (easily accessible and "parkable", even in very high season). Prices for ski passes, equipment rental and ski lessons are quite reasonable.
Lots of complementary activities (snowshoes, skating rink, etc.)

Outside the winter period, remarkable natural setting offering multiple possibilities of occupations (hiking, mountain biking, etc ... As well as all the "water" activities linked to the lake)
All the main shops (bakery, mini-market, press house, tobacconist, restaurants, ski rental, E.S.F Tourist Office, etc.) within the village.

Other ski resorts nearby: Thollon les Mémises (1/4 hour), La Chapelle d'Abondance (1/4 hour, start of the immense Portes du Soleil area), Châtel-Les Gêts-Avoriaz (3/4 of an hour). These other stations are accessible by road (the domains are not connected with the Bernex domain)

- "We are a Family of 3 Adults from Scotland who booked a 4 night stay as a base for exploring the area. Driving access up the mountain was no problem as the directions were impeccable, the chalet was bigger than it looked, spacious, well equipped and a decent wifi signal. A fantastic balcony, busy with feeding birds, we all had a great sleep in a choice if bedrooms and then drove to Chamonix in the morning. It was great value compared to hotels. Log burning stove with wood was so warming at night. The chalet was Loaded with games, books, DVDs and outdoor equipment. We are not skiers but our visit in April/May saw the chalet with 6 inches of snow overnight which was stunning. The road was cleared first thing in the morning, I only had to dig out the car with one of the snow shovels, fantastic. This chalet would be great all year round, handy for Evian and Lake Geneva and not too far from Geneva Airport. Top tip, Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux, Berdex is a far nicer drive than Geneva-Berdex. We were met onsite by Tressy and in touch with owner by mail and both were so helpful., highly recommended. "

This 3 story chalet with its amazing view can accommodate 16 people. Of its 140 m2, 30 m2 are dedicated to a fully functioning flat on the ground floor, which has a fully equipped kitchen (microwave, electric hob, dishwasher, fridge), a living area with a 2 person sofa-bed, a bedroom with a double bed and a shower room with toilet. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine. The glass doors open on to a small courtyard with an amazing view of Bernex.

On the first floor (the main floor) there is a living room (sofa-bed for 2, TV, wood burner) that opens onto a dining area and kitchen that is equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher. These rooms have access to two large balconies that overlook Bernex and its mountains. There is also a bedroom (double bed) and a shower room with toilet on this floor.

The second floor is made up of two bedrooms with double beds and small balconies (one of them also has a single bed, the other a cot), a small mezzanine with two more double beds and a bathroom (bathtub, sink, toilet).

A twenty minute drive away from Evian, Bernex is the family ski resort of the area and has everything available on site to spend a great vacation either in the winter or the summer. The ski slopes are open from December onwards, and in the summer there are many hiking trails, off-road bike rides or just simple nature walks to look forward to.

Notre Rêve is our traditional cosy but spacious Savoyard wooden built Chalet located in the authentic village resort of Bernex, France. Ideally located for both Summer and Winter pursuits for young and old alike. Ideal for 2 families, sleeps 10/12.
Bernex is situated in the northern mountains of the Haute Savoie area of the Alps known as the Chablais Region or Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. It is just over 1 hour from Geneva Airport (60km) or a 12 hour drive from the UK (depending on where you're based!).
Our detached Chalet is in a fantastic location with stunning views. It is well equipped for adults, families and children. It is within walking distance of restaurants, bars, local shops and Tourist Office, not to mention the Pizza takeaway too!
The Chalet comprises of 5 double bedrooms spanning 3 floors sleeping 10 on beds and comfortably fitting 2 more on a sofabed in the Sitting Room and/or the moveable single Futon in one of the bedrooms, there is also a travel cot if required. Three bedrooms are on the Second floor, one on the First and one on the Ground Floor.
There is a separate Kitchen on the First floor and a linked open plan Sitting Room and Dining Room which has double doors to a spacious balcony with fantastic views.
There is a Bathroom on the Second floor, with separate loo. On the First Floor there is a Shower Room and a separate loo. On the Ground Floor there is a Shower Room with a loo.
In the Garage there is a Utility Area with a washing machine and dryer, also a Table Tennis Table! There is plenty of space for you to keep skis, ski boots, sledges, mountain bikes, walking boots etc. here. There is outside parking for a couple of cars on the drive or on the hard-standing area in the grass. The Chalet has a private fenced garden with a double gate.
In the Summer Bernex offers plenty of activities – tennis, petanque, horse riding, mountain biking, a new Bike Park through the trees/ski slopes, parapente, fishing and white water rafting, together with recreational and cultural activities. With nearby golf, sailing, swimming, climbing, paragliding, white-water rafting and canyoning and the famous Dent d’Oche at 2222 metres high for those keen for a challenge. However for those less adventurous there are many ramblers paths which accommodate all levels with Fromageries, Flora & Fauna on the way! More than enough to keep the most active of people busy on their relaxing holidays – you’ll need two weeks! There is also Lac Beunaz, a few mins by car where they have a whole host of activities; zip wires, high ropes, inflatables, trampolines etc. Also 10 Pin Bowling at Blues Rock Café in same village, in Winter too. If the local activities are not enough, Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) and Evian are 15 minutes away, have many attractions such as water sports, spa & thermal baths, beaches and bars to give you that waterside feel – not to mention Evian Mineral Water! There are various shops in Bernex which you can visit and sample some of the local products. Alternatively, just sit back, relax and enjoy the views and atmosphere of this naturally beautiful area.
In the Winter Bernex offers its own ski area comprising of 20 slopes, between 1000 and 2000 metres, with a variety of runs to suit all levels and also breath taking views of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) and Mont Blanc. There are two restaurants at the mid-station. Generally the ski resort opens mid to late December and closes at the end of March each year. Additionally there is a 200m squared Ice Rink near the Tourist Office (easy to walk to from Chalet) in the Winter months.
Winter Walking and Cross Country skiing are further activities that the Bernex valley, plateau du Gavot, has to offer, together with sleigh rides and sledging, check with Tourist Office.
During the Christmas and February French holidays from 8.30am to close, there is a 'free' little Train which takes you to and from the ski slopes just a 3 minute walk from the Chalet, departing behind the Tourist Office.
Whilst Bernex offers sufficient skiing, there is also Thollon les Memises 15 minutes away, together with La Chapelle d’Abondance, under 30 minutes away which is linked to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area.
In Vinzier, just under a 5km drive, there is a large Super U supermarket where you can stock up on all your holiday food, wine and essentials. You can also buy petrol/diesel here.

- "Just had a wonderful week's stay in Bernex at this lovely chalet. Loved taking the Ski Shuttle Train from just outside the Tourist Office (3-4 min walk or less if you're quick and the train is already there!). Great family skiing in Bernex with all 9 of us coming down the mountain together. Fabulous memories made. Super takeaway Pizza a one minute walk from the chalet - delicious thin and crispy pizzas with amazing toppings. Bars & restaurants within easy walking distance too. Chalet well equipped. Easy access by car in just over 30 mins to Chatel too for the more adventurous amongst you - this takes you up and over to Avoriaz! a great well equipped chalet. We will be back!"

The space
The chalet, in a traditional style, is an independent accommodation and can accommodate up to 8 people.
On the ground floor, you will find a living room comprising a friendly lounge with two sofas, a TV, an equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, etc.) and a dining table. The terrace, accessible from the dining room, will offer you a dining and relaxation area with panoramic views of the mountains.
Also on the ground floor, you will enjoy a first bedroom with double bed, bathroom and toilet.
The first floor has three bedrooms (one with double bed and balcony, two others with two single beds) as well as a shower room with toilet.
Two parking spaces, a garage and a cellar for your equipment will be at your disposal.

The Bise Bise cottage is our second home that we wanted in a warm and cozy atmosphere. Brise Bise is located in the municipality of Bernex: family resort of Haut Chablais, 10 km from Evian les Bains.

In summer, Bernex enjoys an ideal location, between mountains and beaches of Lake Geneva a few kilometers away. The chairlift takes you to the top of the resort in the summer, with a starting point for mountain biking and hiking.
In winter, the ski area is 700m away and is accessible by small train, the stop is close to the chalet. If the snow is good, a ski-in/ski-out return is possible to the chalet.

Located on the mountain with a view of the ski slopes from the balcony, the chalet is big enough to fit 16 people. We have two large dining tables, with enough room for all guests to sit. There is a pool table, table tennis table, darts board and two television sets. There is a fireplace to keep you warm and cosy. The ski slopes are roughly 5 minutes away in the car. The town of Bernex is very family-friendly and there is a real authentic French atmosphere. It is around 1h20 from Geneva Airport

The chalet is 230m² with a south view of the mountains. There are 2 balconies, one with a table and chairs set enabling you to eat outside if you wish. There is room in the garage to store your skis.
