Chalet Pelerin, surrounded by the Chablais mountains, is situated midway between Abondance and La Chapelle d'Abondance and just a few minutes from Chatel. The chalet is just 75 minutes from Geneva with easy access to the Portes du Soleil which, with 650km of pistes, incorporates 14 resorts including Chatel, Avoriaz, Torgon, Champery, Morgins, Morzine and Les Gets.

It is a great base for either a winter or summer holiday as a place to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery. Abondance/Chatel is a true dual season resort, with extensive skiing and boarding in the winter, and walking, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, kayaking, rafting and fishing in the summer.

The chalet has been designed in typical Savoyard style over 3 floors, covering 170 sq.m featuring a large open plan lounge and dining area including leather sofas and solid oak dining room furniture, a fully fitted oak kitchen and separate utility area and fully furnished south-facing terrace overlooking the valley and River Dranse directly below.

There are 6 beautifully appointed bedrooms, (3 doubles and 3 twins), sleeping up to 12 adults (plus a child in a travel cot) with 4 bathrooms including 3 en-suite.

All prices are based on full occupancy. Partial occupancy bookings and discounts are also available (other than for Christmas, New Year and February half term weeks) which vary according to party size. Discounts of between 30% and 40% are also available for booking 7 nights (other than those weeks where 7 nights is the minimum reservation). Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

There are no additional charges for cleaning, linen, towels, Wi-Fi or anything else.

- "A very well equipped and clean, modern, chalet located just off the main road between Abondance (3 mins drive) and La Chappelle (5 mins drive). Communication with the host was excellent - they were very friendly - and instructions, directions, etc, first class. They also recommend ski hire providers and offer to arrange lift passes for you. Towels & bed lined were included (and they also left us some sausage & a pasta bake as am added bonus!!). The chalet is comfortable for up to 8 adults but would be a tight squeeze for more than that (the dining table seats 8-10 & lounge area 7-8). If you're skiing you really need your own transport. The Linga lift is 15 mins drive & Pre La Joux 20 mins. Both have lots of free parking. The driveway to the chalet is steep and you'll need winter tyres or chains in snowy conditions (but you can park at the bottom of the drive if needed). There are no bars & restaurants close by but plenty within 5 mins drive. If you're okay with all that then it's an excellent place to stay for skiing."

You are 5 minutes from a bus stop which will take you to the other villages of the valley in order to make visits, see the heritage, tasting, walk in the forest, mountain, tree climbing ... as well as mountain biking on the station from Châtel; and of course many other things to discover! By taking the road and within a maximum of 30 minutes, you will find beach, lake, freshwater activity, cinema, bowling, thrilling activities (fantasticable, bob luge ...) ...

In winter :
Adept of cross-country skiing you will only have to put your ski on in front of the farm to be on the Nordic track.
For alpine skiing, a bus stop is a 5 min walk, to reach the family resort of abundance or the other stations of the Portes du Soleil area (650 km of slopes on 12 stations (Châtel, Avoriaz, Les Crozets in Swiss...).
You can also enjoy ice skating on a frozen lake when conditions allow or on synthetic terrain and also discover new sliding activities such as snake sliding, sledding, ...

The chalet "Le Tournesol" is located in a beautiful mountain meadow Abondance on Melon in the district and has a beautiful view over the Dranse Valley. It was built in 2008. 12-person chalet equipped and guarantees a wonderful stay in the French Alps (Haute Savoie). The chalet is almost everything to do for families with children a success. A real family chalet so. But for those who love comfort come into their own in this lovely cottage. The bus stop is on the road at about 100m. The chalet has 6 bedrooms, a large living room with solid soapstone wood stove. The kitchen is fully equipped and the large dining table can easily sit 12 people. The views are great, we cooked at home, made a fire outside in the evening, we barbecued - it was a relatively warm winter this year - and slept well. In the morning it pays to be up early to make sure you are in Chatel in time for parking but even on the day we were a little late this wasn't a huge issue. There are a great baker and butcher in Abondance on the way to and from the slopes. The reception and help from Alex was excellent. He helped us bring our luggage to and from the property. In the winter be sure to have winter tires and be prepared to chain up. Our cottage CHALET DE L'ABBAYE, classified 2 stars by the Ministry of Tourism, is 200m from the center of the village and 250m from the cable car.
You will appreciate it for its comfort, its location, its equipment, its thermal and sound insulation, the peaceful character of the environment, the unobstructed view of the village and the mountain, the absence of opposite, the very proximity to shops, the multitude of activities available including the Portes du Soleil estate.

Access to our chalet is via a rural path covered with a mix of asphalt (no pebbles).
Traffic is very low and takes place on the side opposite the terrace, which makes it possible to be protected from noise.

The slope of this path is quite important.
Depending on the weather conditions, it is best in winter to have snow tires or even chains.
Otherwise, it seems more reasonable to park your vehicle in the village square.

A parking platform for 2 vehicles dedicated to travelers is located immediately on the right when arriving at the chalet; the platform located above is reserved for our private use.
A staircase ensures the connection between parking and the entrance to our two apartments. It's made of stones with a big wooden railing. It is 1m wide and consists of 12 comfortable steps 35 cm long by 13 cm high only with an intermediate landing.

Chalet Waterfall (non-smoking, 200m² living area) mainly rented out to own family. It includes all comfort, oriented to the south, built in 2012 with a fantastic panoramic view at 1,050hm. 1.5 km from the centre.
The chalet offers 4 spacious luxury rooms, each with a private shower, toilet, balcony and seating corner. We have 14 beds, but we limit it (by preference) to 10 people. Game room. All bedrooms have luxury beds/bedding, pillows and blankets. Extra costs: cleaning. Parking available.

The space
The ground floor of Chalet Waterfall provides a spacious hallway, double garage, and also a room with a washing machine, dryer, etc. There is also a playroom with billiards, table football, darts, etc. Finally, there is a heated room to store skis and shoes. For the cycling enthusiasts there is also plenty of space to store your bike.
The spacious living room, with dining table (260*100cm), 10 chairs and extra armchairs, easily accommodates up to 10 people and consists of a pleasant sitting area, a nice view and cosy corner by the stove.
There is also a smart flat screen TV with access to Netflix, Spotify and local channels. You can also connect a PC to it.

There is also access to a terrace (around the chalet). A cosy kitchen has all the necessary equipment and utensils (dishwasher, fridge, microwave, oven).
-room 1 is located next to the living room, has a room with a double bed, a small living room, a separate room with a bunk bed, a separate bathroom, a separate toilet and balcony.
-room 2 (right side) consists of two high sleepers, a double bed and a fifth separate bed. This room also has a separate bathroom and separate WC, as well as a private balcony.

The chalet is located in the Melon district and has beautiful views over the Dranse Valley. This comfortable family chalet has all the comforts such as a sauna and steam cabin. We have 11 beds and 2 baby beds. There is WiFi via fiber optics.
Pets are not allowed in the chalet.

The space
Our chalet is a great base for a wonderful vacation in the cross-border area of Portes du Soleil.

Both in summer and winter, there are plenty of activities possible such as mountain hiking, mountain biking (many lifts are open for this purpose), rafting on the Dranse and various water sports on Lake Geneva.
Skiing, cross-country skiing or hiking in the largest connected ski area in Europe

The chalet can accommodate 12 people, but we limit it (preferably) to 10 people. After skiing, it is wonderful to relax by the fireplace, to go into the sauna or hamam and then to "fondue" or "raclette" together at the long table. Fondue and raclette sets are available in the kitchen.

But also in summer, there are plenty of activities possible such as mountain hiking, mountain biking (many lifts are open for this purpose), rafting on the Dranse and various water sports on Lake Geneva.

In the storage room is also the ski storage with space for 15 pairs of skis and a ski boot dryer also for 15 pairs of shoes.

FIRST FLOOR:
Spacious living room with cozy fireplace (wood included).
Large open kitchen with, among other things, 5-burner ceramic stove, a large fridge with separate freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker and a Nespresso.
Fondue and raclette sets are provided.

From the living room, you have a beautiful view over the valley, and through the French doors, you can reach the large covered balcony (approx. 40 m2). In the living room, there is also a TV, DVD/Video recorder and Sonos box available. Movies, books and boardgames are provided. Furthermore, on this floor there is a separate toilet and a storage cabinet. (This is in private use for the owner.)

SECOND FLOOR:
1 bedroom with 2 box springs (90 x 2.00m) and a single bed (80 x 2.00m),
1 bedroom with front balcony with 2 box springs (80 x 2.00 m),
1 bedroom with front balcony with 2 box springs (90 x 2.00 m),
1 small bedroom with cot and desk.
There is also a bathroom here with double sink, separate shower, toilet and a luxurious double steam cabin (including radio, color therapy and rain and massage showers, etc.).

On the covered balcony, there is a table with 12 seats and a lounge set.

The chalet is 2 km from Abondance ski area (17 km slopes) and 6 km from the 1st connecting lift of Portes du Soleil (600 km slopes, 286 lifts). Chatêl is 10 km away.

Use of fireplace wood is included in the rental price, as well as the energy costs, provided that they do not exceed normal use.

Bedding and bath linens can be rented for €26.00 per person.
The security deposit is €1,000.00.
