Guest Reviews:

- "Absolutely lovely! The property was beautiful and it wasn't hard to find our tipi. Everything was well cared for and you could see they prepared for our stay. It was so romantic and a unique experience. I loved the binder that shared their story of how everything came to be, it made everything feel more personal. In October it became quite cold at night but it was still very comfortable, they had an extra comforter stored for us. We enjoyed ourselves and loved the stay. The only thing we would change is more light for the tipi. Once it became dark outside the night came to an end, the lantern provided was not that bright. Would definitely stay again!"

That 70s Trailer - Boho Bliss - Mountain Views
RV Rental
Northern New Mexico

Set 10 minutes outside of town, this amazingly well-preserved mid-century beauty offers all of the comforts of home in just over 400 carefully designed square feet. Constructed in 1957 by the Spartan Aircraft company, this trailer was meant to be the epitome of modern luxury, with many windows offering expansive views of the mountains and a front row seat to the dramatic weather and sky that make northern New Mexico so enchanting. A huge fenced yard with multiple decks is also yours to enjoy! or

The space
Bright sunshine streams through the many windows of this rare mid century home and provide stunning views of the mountains in nearly every direction. Sunrise, sunset and the starry nights are unencumbered by city lights, and you can enjoy the show from the coziness of the trailer or from the huge fenced yard.

The trailer itself boasts many amazing original features, along with updated plumbing (including an on-demand hot water heater that allows for an endless supply of hot water) and electrical systems, a stove, microwave and refrigerator and a full bathroom with a standard sized tub and shower.

The bedroom features a queen sized bed with a brand new mattress, lots of cozy linens, a built-in vanity, and of course those gorgeous windows to the stars. The sofa in the second bedroom / movie room pulls out into another full sized bed.

Heat is provided by a propane furnace which keeps the trailer nice and toasty in the winter and will soon be converted to also provide central air conditioning. And of course, the original crank windows can be opened to let in the fresh mountain air. All outlets work and wireless internet is available 24/7.

Step out the door and enjoy a deck and fire pit in a large, fully fenced yard shared with two other fabulous vintage trailers, the yellow Silver Dome seen in the photos and a soon-to-arrive 1964 Barth travel trailer.

Whether you've been trailer park dreamin' and want to try the vintage trailer life on for size or are just looking for a unique, comfy home away from home in Taos, you've found it!

Guest access
Guests have access to the large yard, outdoor chairs, a fire pit, and a barbecue in warmer months. There is wireless internet and off-street parking, and friendly dogs are welcome with a $10 fee.

Other things to note
The property is located about 400 yards up a gravel road and in heavy snow can be difficult for smaller cars to maneuver. Parking is on gravel, and the yard is primarily gravel as well, so those with mobility issues may require some assistance.

This part of Taos is home to families and individuals from diverse economic backgrounds and the surrounding homes range from large modern adobe homes, to earth ships and bio domes, to modular homes and vintage trailers. I love the uniqueness of the area and embrace visitors who are equally open to experiencing the rich diversity Taos offers.

Speaking of diversity, there are several small, unique dogs on the property that are normally in my house with me, but who may occasionally greet you noisily in the yard - they're all bark and no bite, however, especially due to the fact that the two elderly chihuahuas have no teeth!

Your dog-friendly dog is welcome to stay for an additional fee, provided that you clean up after it and we agree upon meet and greet supervision when our furry friends meet.
