Casa de Suenos (House of Dreams) is an adobe style home situated on the high mesa at the North edge of Taos with spectacular views of the Taos mountains and sunsets. With 1,650 square feet of living space it can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people and is eclectically and tastefully decorated. There is also an in-house studio art gallery with work for sale.

The Tree House is a fairy-tale cottage, hand built by the owner, who is a Taos artist and metal sculptor and furnished with handmade furniture and antiques. There is peace and quite except for the rustling of the giant 200 year old cottonwoods and the rushing of the Rio Hondo River as it makes its' way to the Rio Grande. A short walking distance on the other side of the property is the working part of the farm, consisting of Alpacas, Ducks, Chickens and of course the gentle Great Pyrenees dogs that watch over all. However, if we get sufficient moisture before and during your stay… They may be possible. Since we can’t predict the weather, this changes day to day.

The Green Room is small and cozy, very private, quiet, clean and comfortable. The kitchen and living space are all situated off of the same entryway that also has laundry facilities. There is a TV with Dish and internet service. There is plenty of room for clothes and other travel paraphernalia. Your private bathroom with tub is right in the suite. There is a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. Remember to come prepared for hot tubbing, located conveniently outside of the room!

The space
The Green room is situated off of the mudroom/entryway. The hot tub and small yard are just outside of the living area. If you desire to use the kitchen, talk to me about it prior to booking. Generally, the kitchen is not available, but there is an Instapot and a crockpot that guests are welcome to use, and there is a hot water pot in the room.

Convenient access from your parking spot, no need to walk through the house. The hot tub and yard with outside sitting area is just off the kitchen-living area. There are shade trees and beyond is a nice walk to the ridge with amazing views to the mountains in all directions.

I am usually a text away. I let my guests drive interaction. I try to engage only enough to be helpful, but I do sometimes get drawn into longer conversations.

Constructed of recently plastered, true adobe with brick floors, and latilla ceilings, you will feel transported back to Old Taos. This beautiful downtown studio space w/ queen bed, avail monthly+, is one block from the heart of Taos plaza but secluded and quiet. The room is behind my 1936 historic home sharing a courtyard and ample parking space. It is ~325 sq ft with hardwood floors, adobe walls, and full bath. Tastefully furnished, you will enjoy a kitchenette with access to shared patio and grill, with fenced yard.

From this downtown location you can walk to restaurants, museums, theater, galleries, and shopping.

The space
The 2 guest rooms are located off the back patio with a separate keyed entrance. The 325 square foot room has 2 windows with curtains. The room also has a private full bath. The room's antique and mid-century furnishings include a queen bed, twin day bed, armoire, desk, TV (with Netflix), a seating area with coffee table, and expandable drop-leaf rolling table with chairs. The kitchenette includes a 3.2 cu ft fridge, with small freezer, 2 electric burners, and small sink. The kitchen also includes a microwave, toaster oven, hot-water kettle, and French coffee press. Cooking and serving dishes and utensils are provided.

Guest access
Guests have access to the full property except for the owner's home. The entrance to the guest rooms are off the back patio with a keyed separate entrance. Each room also is keyed and private. The guests will also have access to the back patio including a Weber grill with burner, and dining table and benches. Adjacent to the patio is a small yard that is surrounded by trees and has a small table for sipping your coffee or glass of wine outside. The patio area is lit in the evening by string lights creating a nice outdoor space.

There is a large parking lot that is part of the property in the front of the house which if needed can be used to park a RV, trailer, or larger vehicle. There is guest parking behind the house and closer to the rooms as well.

The hot tub is open from 6am until 10pm at night. To respect our neighbors, please maintain a conversational level between 8:00 and 10:00pm.

PETS: We love pets and welcome well-behaved dogs and cats at Taos Lodging. Dogs must be crated when left alone in your Casita. Excessive barking disturbs other guests, so if your dog is highly expressive, please do not leave him or her alone, even if crated. Also, dogs must be leashed or otherwise supervised at all times on the property. There is a one-time $75 pet fee and Poppy only hosts 1 pet.

For those of you bringing pets, we leave a basket with old sheets, towels and a water bowl to use during your stay. Pets are never allowed on the furniture and if we find pet hair on the furniture, you may be subject to a fine of up to $500.
