Salida Riverfront Town Home is located in downtown Salida, three blocks from the center of Historic Downtown Salida, on the beautiful Arkansas River.
This three story town home was built in 2007 with elegant, high-end finishes. Each of the three floors has its own spacious deck that overlooks (nearly overhangs!) the Arkansas River with amazing views both upstream and downstream, including a view of Tenderfoot (“S”) Mountain. The lowest deck has stairs down to water level.
The well appointed kitchen has lots of granite counter space and is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. (We're serious--the kitchen has EVERYTHING you would expect to find in a regular family kitchen.) Those gourmet meals can be enjoyed at either the indoor or outdoor dining tables--both have amazing views. Your designated chef need not despair of cooking duty--he or she can enjoy the company of companions AND views of the Arkansas River because the kitchen is open to the main living and dining area.
The lower level is a spacious second living room designed for relaxation, with a leather couch, reclining chairs, 43 inch smart television, small library of books, gas fireplace, and full bath. The deck on this level has steps down to the river, and the sound of the river through the oversize sliding glass doors is mesmerizing. In fact, each of the three levels has oversize sliding glass doors onto the decks and the river can be clearly heard from all three floors.
There are two large bedroom suites on opposite sides of the upper floor, each with private bathrooms. The master suite faces the river, has its own deck, and a king size bed with high quality linens. The master bath has double sinks and a large, beautifully tiled shower with bench.
The second bedroom faces the front of the home with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the south and has two queen sized beds with high quality linens and goose-down comforters. The bathroom in this second bedroom is also beautifully tiled and includes a bath tub.
Other amenities include a single car garage with extra space to store your toys,
and parking for an additional vehicle in the driveway (additional parking is available on the street); Bose iPod dock, full linens, four 43 inch smart TVs, full size washer and dryer, gas grill, walk-in closets in each bedroom, large kitchen pantry, gas range and oven and microwave.
The property fee of $30 per night that is included in the fees is the City of Salida's Short Term Rental Fee.

The beds were good except for the pull-out sofa down in the basement. That mattress wasn't very good, so my son just left it folded in and slept on the couch instead. We also couldn't find sheets to use on that bed, so that wouldn't have worked anyway. Well-stocked kitchen. Great stay overall and would stay here again and would recommend it to others."

This beautiful, authentic log cabin is on a working Angus cattle ranch. Immerse yourself in a rustic world of horses, cattle, and real cowboys on this authentic slice of Colorado agriculture. With over 300 acres, seclusion is not a problem, making for great wildlife viewing. The cabin is adjacent to the South Arkansas River, and features a mile of river frontage; fishing is an angler's dream. We also have a nice pond with a cozy swing on the shore.
The property borders BLM land and lends itself to great hiking. Monarch Ski Resort is a mere 20 minutes away. Six miles to the east is the town of Salida, Colorado, where you will find many nice restaurants, shops, galleries, museums, and more. Recently, it was used for a location in a feature film.
Amenities include a washer/dryer, electric range, microwave oven, dishwasher, refrigerator (with ice maker), pellet stove and in-floor radiant heat. WiFi has recently been added.
The interior is decorated in a charming western theme, featuring log furniture, wildlife light-switch covers, and artistic hand-finished wood highlights on the cabinets and furniture. The spacious floor plan includes 2 bedrooms with loft, 1 1/2 bathrooms, and living area with 32" HD TV with DVD player and satellite TV. The cabin sleeps up to 9 comfortably.

This 120 year old home has been entirely remodeled with attentive care to re-use the original molding where possible. The two-bedrooms sleep six. The upstairs bath includes a claw foot tub and shower combination. The lower bathroom, down a flight of stairs has a shower, sink and toilet only. The kitchen was re-modeled in 2006 as we popped the top to make the ceilings 10 feet tall. It includes a customer handmade, wood topped island. New carpet in 2014 and 2024. Corner Lot. Our cabin is ideal for 1 couple or a family of 4 with very small children, a master bedroom and sofa bed, and two bathrooms.
Our cabin is completely furnished. There is a spacious bedroom with a queen bed with soft, luxurious sheets for the ultimate in sleeping comfort, a sleeper sofa, private bath and an outside deck. The living room has a comfy leather sofa, two swivel leather chairs with ottomans, a second bathroom, and two outside decks. The kitchen has all the appliances of home. You'll also find a utility room with washer/dryer, and a pantry and mudroom for your hiking boots, day packs, ski boots, and jackets. This is our house, not just a second home or a condo stacked up with the others. The Modern House includes a unique two person extra-large 4 ft deep by 4 ft square Japanese Soaking tub in primary bathroom. This motor court, which was built in 1936 on the edge of the historic district, is a short walk to downtown via First Street or you can follow the delightful river walk that takes you along the banks of the Arkansas River and past several of the rapids braved by kayakers, rafters, anglers and swimmers alike.
"BubbiBel's Cabin" has been completely remodeled. No longer is there a lean-to attached for a mechanic shop and dairy. Instead, she has been transformed to provide comfort and accessibility after a long day of adventures in town, on the water, or out on the trails.
Bubbibel's Cabin has a full kitchen with a convection oven. A large table easily seating six for dining with friends and family, a living room for relaxing, and a spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed that will have you sawing enough logs every night to make another cabin.
After a restful night’s sleep, you can freshen up in the generous, walk-in/roll-in shower. The cabin is ADA-compliant with extra-wide, 36” doors and zero thresholds. This is even helpful when you are bringing in lots of luggage or after a busy day of shopping downtown.

- "All as advertised, very clean, modern and well stocked residence. Only and I repeat only thing that could have been better was more accesses to the river frontage to fish. Advertised as 1/3 mile (+/-) frontage but so over grown to waters edge only 50/75 ft could be accessed. And although certainly not anyone’s fault but river never flowed slow enough enter the river to fish anyway in the 2nd week of July" - "As a family of 3 couples, the property filled all our needs. Very nice and clean inside. The attention to detail and obvious love of fishing saved the day! Since the river was flowing too fast for fishing, a guidebook on area lakes was thoroughly studied and 3 remote lakes were hiked into with success. Had that simple item not been included in the welcome basket, our trip likely would not have been as enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again (maybe after spring thaw is over next time)!"

This gorgeously restored historic condo feels spacious and sunny with it's high ceilings and large windows. Located at the only stoplight in downtown Salida, you can overlook the goings-on of downtown from the huge windows that grace our condo's kitchen and living space. This historic, sunlit home has been stylishly remodeled and has everything you'll need for up to 4 folks. Alpine Park across the street is a full city block of grassy space, basketball courts, playgrounds, and in the summer it houses the local Farmer's Market every Saturday morning. We're on the edge of downtown Salida, literally around the corner from shops, galleries, restaurants and 4 blocks from the river!

We recently remodeled the front porch so that it is no longer enclosed. It’s a great sunny spot to sit and take in the goings on of S-Town!
The front porch looks at Alpine Park, which is an entire square block of grass, trees, picnic tables, a basketball court, and a small playground. The park also houses our local farmers market on Saturdays so you'll have easy access to that!
Want to stay in and cook? You’ll enjoy the well-equipped kitchen. Or order curbside pick-up or delivery from one of Salida's many nearby restaurants.
Our cleaning standards have always been very high (as you can tell by our reviews), but with the advent of the COVID 19 threat, we've doubled-down our already high disinfecting standards to ensure the safety of our employees, guests, and our entire community.
We've also upgraded our wifi so guests can set up shop to work or homeschool from your Salida "home away from home.”

The views were amazing, it was about 2 miles from town, and on a somewhat busy road, but we had no problems with that. The property management was terrific, great information provided in advance and when we left a few items they quickly had them mailed to us! - "We left many of the amenities unused. The inside is very functioinal for a two person get-away. The layout is well thought out and the property manager was extremely responsive to any issues during our stay. We didn't have the chance to explore any of the outdoor amenities like the gazebo, firepit and hammock. The views are wonderful. The sounds of the Akansas River in the background are very soothing and the river is an active fishing destination as was evidenced by many anglers trying their luck along its multi-mile banks during our stay. I know we'll be back."

This beautiful townhome is perfectly located just a half mile from downtown Salida. This spacious 2 bed/2 bath has granite counter tops, wood floors, and like-new appliances. Cozy and bright, you will stay comfortably and have everything you need.
Cruise around town on the four bikes that come with the home, or have an evening in with a fully stocked kitchen. You will feel right at home during your stay!
This townhome is location just 30 minutes from Monarch Ski Resort, and only 1.5 hours from Keystone, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain. Avoid traffic from Denver to the western slope, and stay here for the winter!

- "Beautiful property, well equipped. The main house and the garage apartment are beautifully furnished. Evenings by the river with the breezes and sunsets were great." - "My family loved this home! Amazing amenities, finishes, outdoor space, river access, entertaining space, parking space, appliances, heated bathroom floor (in the main house) and landscaping! Jose did not spare any details when designing, building and furnishing this home. It was spotless clean upon arrival in every room, including the VERY cute studio suite above the garage. All rooms have there own external AC unit, so we were able to cool each room individually to our liking. The cornhole game kept my kids occupied for almost the entire time that we were there. The covered gazebo down by the river served as a perfect cocktail/happy hour location for the adults while watching the sunset. Evenings for the entire family were held down at the custom firepit that was handsomely outfitted with awesome Adirondack chairs. All beds were very comfortable with good linens. The washer and dryer allowed us to wash our clothes before leaving home, which was nice (bring clothes detergent). The brand new pellet smoker was a bonus for our meat grilling needs (pellets were provided). The brand new LG refrigerator was very high-tech. It made regular ice and also large whiskey balls for cocktails. Each room had it's own new flat screen TV ready for your streaming needs. All bathrooms came with provided high end individual shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion (just like a swanky hotel). Upon arrival we were greeted with a complimentary welcome bag (both in the main house and the studio) that included a coffee mug with Jose's branded trout company, a sticker, a note pad and a pen. Very thoughtful items! To cap all of this off, this home is pet friendly, but you would never know that pets are allowed, it is very clean. Jose even provides one small dog bed. The main house common area is not huge but it is more than acceptable for indoor gathering and dinning. The main dining table will fit up to eight people comfortably. The kitchen is large with a bar top counter that fits another 3-4 people for dining (we put the kids up here for meals). The bedrooms are fairly spacious with a closet. Perfect for one large family and one small family to share (studio for a 2-3 person family). The studio was a cute space that included a small kitchen. The location is remote, but not too remote. 10-15 minutes from Salida and 7-10 minutes to the quaint small town of Howard. If you prefer privacy then this is your spot. Neighbors to the right and left were at least a quarter of a mile away. We were able to play our music at a higher level outside and not disturb anyone (we didn't hear anyone else either). The mountain backdrop over the river was picturesque. Every evening we spotted dear! A few items that I would not forget next time would be: *Lots of drinking water (As expected, the water is well-water and you can certainly tell that it is out of the faucet). *Laundry Detergent We will be back and I 100% recommend this to anyone that loves high-end mountain locations."

There were plenty of areas of seating to enjoy time together both inside and outside. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable (we loved this!) Make yourself at home at this 2 bedroom Victorian classic in historic Salida, Colorado. Salida is located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This white picket fenced, corner lot offers views of some of the Rocky Mountains' finest 14er peaks. This homes location offers rafting, fly fishing, biking, hiking, mountain climbing, skiing and hot springs minutes from your front door.

This home is very comfortable and feels like a true home rather than a sparse vacation rental (which many can be). It has anything you could need for cooking as well as doing laundry, which we really appreciated. It was a great place to stay with our young pup, as well. The yard was perfect for her to run around in and a lovely space on it's own. The home was walkable to everything in downtown Salida which we definitely took advantage of. This house is right in town and within walking distance of downtown shops, the golf course, river and the hospital. Your private room and bathroom are in addition to your own dedicated cupboards and space in the fridge for your food. We love visitors and all the shared and communal spaces are full of little essentials that you might need while visiting for a long period of time.
This is a shared space (shared with just myself). You’ll be renting a private bedroom in a small two-bedroom, one-bathroom house from 1889 that was recently renovated. It’s not overly private, but it’s comfy and clean. We are also an 8 minute walk from downtown Salida.

The Owner's Suite at the Lil’ Red Cabin has all the comforts you need for an amazing Colorado getaway! This remodeled carriage garage studio sleeps three with 1 queen bed and 1 pull out twin. There is also a desk/work space with high speed internet (the fastest internet you can get in Salida). This space is completely private with its own private entrance.
The living space has been updated with touches of local art. Enjoy sleeping on a five-star memory foam queen bed with luxurious Comphy premium linens.
Please note, the space does NOT have a full kitchen, but there is a small refrigerator w/freezer, microwave, and an electric kettle with coffee and tea available. There is also an authentic Mexican food truck around front named Dos AA’s.
There is no television but there is high-speed internet. In addition, there is an additional indoor private secure storage area to keep your extra luggage, bikes, or skis. There are also a couple of patio chairs on the mini patio to enjoy the mountain views and the high mountain bluebird skies and sunshine.
We use primarily organic, paraben-free, cruelty-free detergents and cleaners for a healthy, and minimally scented environment.
The Lil’ Red Cabin has a large bathroom with double shower/massage shower head and a full-size washer and dryer.
The Lil’ Red Cabin is single story. For those with limited mobility, it is very easy to park close to the front door. In addition, this sweet suite offers plenty of parking for your RV, van, and/or trailer.
We usually have a few resident deer milling about the yard and among the trees and sheds out back. Please do not feed, approach or attempt to touch baby fawns, deer, or bucks.
The Lil' Red Cabin welcomes humans only. NO Pets Allowed - no exceptions.

Parking is very easy. You can park just feet away from the front door. Two wide sidewalks access the space. Solar lights light the pathway and the keypad. There is plenty of parking to park a large truck, camper, or trailer. A five-minute drive takes you to downtown Salida.
Right across the street is an access point to the Monarch Spur Bike and Walking Trail. We recommend you walk down to the stoplight to cross over to access the trail. The Monarch Spur Trail is a paved trail which connects this part of town to downtown and the river walk. There are spectacular views of the mountains on this easy-to-access path.
You can also access hundreds of miles of mountain bike trails out the Lil Red Cabin's front door.
Salida Hot Springs and the new Salida Skate Park are within walking distance. The Lil Red Cabin is just a 30-minute drive to Joyful Journey Hot Springs and Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort.
Easily access shopping, restaurants, and amenities on Highway 50 in minutes.

If you are a mountain biker -
Across the street from the Lil Red Cabin is an access point to The Monarch Spur Trail. The Spur Trail connects with Arkansas Trail mountain bike and hiking trail system. It is about a 10 minute flat bike ride to the Arkansas River where on the other side of the bridge are hundreds of miles of super fun mountain biking in the Ark Hills. The Ark Hills get a lot of sun and often can be ridden year round.
On the other side of valley from the Ark Hills is Methodist Mountain, another great place to mountain bike. You can also easily access the Methodist Mountain Trail System by riding out the backdoor up County Road 111 to County Road 110. (Stay on the same side of the highway as the Lil Red Cabin, turn left on road right after Sonic.) Keep riding uphill and around mile 3.2 you will run into the Rainbow Trail, where once again you are accessing hundreds of miles of trail. The Rainbow Trail is one way to descend from the Monarch Crest Trail (one of the most epic rides in the world). Methodist Mountain trails are on the shady side of the valley so these trails are not usually accessible in the late fall, winter, and early spring.

Welcome to the Apartment at Howl! Our space is designed for one couple or a couple with an infant—please refrain from accessing the closed loft.
Ensuring your safety, we follow a rigorous COVID-19 Cleaning Protocol. Between each guest, we use an electrostatic sprayer for disinfection, utilizing non-toxic cleaners and proper PPE for our staff. We employ a CDC-recommended non-toxic disinfectant and wash linens with an earth-friendly detergent and HOT water.
Note that the bathroom is accessed through a hallway within the apartment (refer to the floorplan in our photos). The entire apartment is exclusively yours; it is not shared with the coffee shop, and you need not worry about any intrusion from employees or customers. Although the space originated from a commercial kitchen and mop closet, creating a unique layout, it may differ from traditional apartment expectations. Our downtown parking space accommodates a vehicle with a boat trailer.
Additionally, please be aware that the apartment is situated behind a coffee shop (NOT UPSTAIRS). While we open in the morning and occasionally host evening events, there is potential for noise. Quiet hours are observed between 10 pm and 7 am; outside of these hours, you may hear us. You have private access to the apartment, including the bathroom, which is not shared with the shop. In an unlikely emergency, we reserve the right to access the electric panel, utility closet, or hallway. We will communicate with you and knock on the door if such a situation arises.

The private room is located within a Historical Craftsman Home built in the same time period as the founding of Salida. This secluded riverside location is just the place for a quiet and comfortable getaway, 3 miles from downtown Salida. Our rural setting is beautiful in every season, offering views of the mountain valley as well as direct access to fishing easements on the Arkansas River.
The private suite is an addition to our home with its own exterior entrance, bathroom, kitchenette, and small dining area. This space is most comfortably used by 2 adults with children, or 3 adults sharing the suite.

Our guest space is very peaceful and quite comfortable, so expect a great night's sleep and a relaxing stay! The main room is spacious, quiet, and filled with natural light.
The bathroom is for your use only, and features a stone and tile walk-in shower. Your suite is separated from the private portion of our home by a locked door in the adjoining hallway.

You may enjoy any of the outdoor spaces on our property: comfy sitting areas along the riverbank, relaxing in the backyard hammock or around a small campfire under the cottonwood trees. The picnic table and grill are also available to you.
You will also have use of the "mudroom" to store your cooler, fishing gear, recreational gear, or simply to access the back yard area.
My husband is a potter and would be happy to schedule a time to visit his onsite studio and gallery located behind our home.

We live on 3 acres in a beautiful rural area right beside the Arkansas River.
If you have children with you, please be sure they are supervised while out on the property. It is not a kid-proof environment, but is sure a great place to run and explore with mom and dad! Be especially cautious at the river - the current is pretty fast and strong in June and July.
We have "Colorado air conditioning", so in the summer months, just open the windows in the evening and close them in the morning to keep your room cool all day. During winter months, nighttime temperatures can drop 40 degrees from the daily high. Be sure to let us know if you need the heat turned up a bit.
We usually have quite a few resident deer milling about the yard and among the trees out back. Please do not feed them, and do not approach or touch any baby fawns that may be lying in the tall grasses.
We do not allow pets in the guest suite, in order to keep it allergen-free, so please do not bring your furry friends.
There are two spaces for guest vehicles in the parking area on our property.
Smoking/vaping of any kind is not allowed inside our home. You may smoke outside, at least 10 feet away from open doors and windows so as to keep the suite odor-free. Thank you for respecting our property while you enjoy all it has to offer!

The space
Location:
The Glass Deckhouse is about 20 feet from national forest boundary in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is centrally located about 2.5 hours from downtown Denver, <30 minutes to Monarch Mountain, 1.5 hours to Breckenridge, and about an hour from Great Sand Dunes National Park. To get here, just take 285 almost the entire way from Denver. It's a beautiful drive over high passes and low valleys. You might even see moose at the lake around Kenosha Pass. Traffic is almost always non-existent except for peak times -- thankfully it's not like I-70!
What to do (the short version):
There is a ton to do nearby outdoors--from day national parks to rafting hiking and skiing--that make perfect day trips all year. The deckhouse is newly renovated inspired by Swedish design. There is a private trail pm the property itself which circles around the aspen, ponderosa pine, rock outcroppings, and what we call sunset boulevard view. We also have a guidebook for everything from short hikes to restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries! We're tucked behind a mountain that blocks the road but right off a well-paved and plowed road.
The Basics:
There is some limited kitchen amenities with new mini fridges, a coffee maker (of course free coffee), and a tea kettle. We also have an electric grill that works great for outdoor cooking. Quality towels and linens are freshly-washed right before your stay. The bed is a memory foam queen bed. The outdoor space includes a shared deck space with stunning views, solar lights, and a seating area.
The Bath House:
Down the path from the deckhouse is a large, heated bath house. This is a bit of a hike down the hill (past the lodge) so if you aren't in shape to walk this may not be the best unit for you. We have recently done extensive renovations so most amenities are new. It's stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and had wash. We have more than one bathroom for each unit on-site so you should expect to have plenty of space. It's not like a public restroom.
Pet Friendly:
We do our best to remain pet friendly and keep the cost reasonable (why are people charging $79 pet fees?!). If you plan to bring a pet please add it to your reservation - the $15 fee just goes to whichever of us cleans the unit for the extra time.
Guest access
North vs. South Side:
You will have the north side of this cabin with a private space and private entry. Both sides are identical layout. You will not share a wall with anyone (they are two separate structures) but they do have a common balcony (north and south side are separate units)!
This may seem a bit odd at first but most people actually end up liking it! You have a separate trail up to your side as well for additional privacy.
Getting Here and Parking:
For the winter months, the Glass Cabins are at the top of the property. The last ~100 yards of the driveway is straight but fairly steep. In the months without significant snow, all cars can easily drive up to the cabins at all times without issue. We also have it plowed after every snow by a neighbor about two minutes away. Please park right below your unit next to the big black water container.
If you have any worries and don't have good traction or 4-wheel drive, please feel free to park at bottom of the hill and walk up to your unit instead of trying to make it up to the top parking lot (it's easy to make it with essentially any 2-wheel drive except if it's actively snowing or particularly icy in winter).
Other things to note
Bath House:
The bathrooms for this unit are in the bath building which is down the hill by two other buildings. It can be a relatively steep walk down our trail to the bathrooms (important for the winter) so please note that.
If you are not comfortable walking to the bathroom, the other cabins on-site are even simpler! You will see the bath house as you drive in and there are signs. We have invested a lot of time into renovating the bath house and are continuing to do more.
WIFI and Cell Service:
Cell service with Verizon is actually quite strong as there is a tower on a mountain right next to us! AT&T and T-Mobile are strong a few miles from the property down the pass but are generally spotty at best on-site.
We have added strong WiFi to the Bath House down the hill. We also added WiFi in the deckhouse but it is more inconsistent (strong on some days, not as much on others)!
Fires:
Please follow stated rules at firepit when you arrive. No fires during county burn bans.

The space
We have two dining tables with views to Mt. Shavano and a dedicated living room next to the gas log fireplace for guests in the wintertime. WiFi throughout the house & greenhouse w/Brother color laser WiFi enabled air-printer. Big screen TV. EV car charger. ($20/charge) Fully ADA accessible.
Guest access
Guests may access our 26’ open dome greenhouse on site and use any of the three decks for outdoor relaxing. All three decks and the dome greenhouse with chairs have WiFi. Enjoy reading in the greenhouse surrounded by tropical plants. Our circle drive is handy for trailers too.
Other things to note
Prior to your visit, my wife (a retired RN and Infection Prevention Manager at Heart of the Rockies Hospital in Salida) and I want to assure you that we are taking extraordinary precautions to help ensure your health. We clean and sanitize all household objects, bedrooms, and bathroom areas that you, your family, and friends will be contacting. In addition to freshly washed sheets, bath towels, and hand towels, we have a good supply of Lysol cleansers and Clorox wipes for your daily use. Our ranch, located 6-miles outside Salida near Monarch Ski, also has a complete and fully equipped kitchen with an outside gas grill for your use in case your group would like to cook solely at our ranch.
The Mt. Shavano Ranch living room areas are actually one large space using furniture only to separate the areas. We also have building mounted outside security cameras for your protection. They record 24/7. There are no cameras inside. There are smart smoke detectors, CO detectors, & glass breakage detectors required by Chaffee County. We keep a vacuum, floor cleaner, and mop w/bucket in the front coat closet for guest use in case of emergencies. We keep extra Clorox wipes and cleaning supplies in the guest bathroom, under the sink for guest use. Our well has a limited recharge. Please use water wisely. NOTE: Our "ranch" raises a herd of over 18 kayaks, canoes, & rafts, with kayaks standing in the front yard plus over 1,000 head of succulents in our greenhouse. Please observe our Check-out requests.

The space
Location:
The Forest Frame is on a 35 acre private property with national forest on 3 sides. It is centrally located about 2.5 hours from downtown Denver, <30 minutes to Monarch Mountain, 1.5 hours to Breckenridge, and about an hour from Great Sand Dunes National Park. To get here, just take 285 almost the entire way from Denver. It's a beautiful drive over high passes and low valleys. You might even see moose at the lake around Kenosha Pass. Traffic is almost always non-existent except for peak times -- thankfully it's not like I-70!
What to do (the short version):
There is a ton to do nearby outdoors--from day national parks to rafting hiking and skiing--that make perfect day trips all year. The Forest Frame was built from scratch this year inspired by Swedish design. There is a private trail on the property itself which circles around the aspen, ponderosa pine, rock outcroppings, and what we call sunset boulevard view. We also have a guidebook for everything from short hikes to restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries!

Getting Here and Parking:
The site is off a well paved and plowed road and we normally plow soon after any snowfall over a few inches.
When you enter the gate, drive up through the entrance arch until you see the large parking lot. This large lot is where you will park.
Feel free to unload your stuff at the bridge next to the tipi to be closer and then please drive your car back to the large parking lot. Note, the parking lot is about a 2 minute walk away from the A Frames. We tucked the A frames away in the forest.
Other things to note
Heating and Air Conditioning:
In the winter, the A frame may be cold if you arrive after sunset but we do have a heater and an electric blanket in a small/well insulated place. Give it just a bit to warm up if you arrive at night and then it should become cozy.
In the summer, it may be warm when you arrive but just open up the door and you will get plenty of cross ventilation to cool it off. It's always cool in the evening regardless of temp during the day.

The bathrooms for this unit are in the bath building which is across the way by two other buildings.

WIFI:
We have added WiFi across the site including in the Forest Frame!

We call this building "Dolce", because it is so sweet. It has been offered as boarding house for over 100 years- housing miners and madams. Inside the unit has been lovingly refurbished and is now available for modern adventurers to enjoy a taste of historic Salida.
