The only thing I would suggest is finding a way to make the doors a little more quiet when they shut. I think I only ran into two other people enjoying their stay while I was there, and the only time I could hear anyone was when they were shutting their doors for the night. I couldn’t even hear them come in or when walking through the hallway so I know they were being quiet, I just think the doors to our rooms are normal doors and not really designed to shut particularly quietly. I really thought Rugosa was a special place to stay while on vacation though! Very enjoyable overall! "

Seems someone wanted to rent the entire Ocean Park Inn. The Sheraton Eastham Cape Cod is a decent hotel, but it caters more to families and can be quite noisy from 8am to 10pm. Our room was on the 2nd floor, facing the indoor pool, which only added to the noise level. Additionally, the excessive heat and humidity prevented us from enjoying the balcony. Given our previous positive experiences at Ocean Park Inn, we would have preferred to stay there instead. "

Cottage #4 was completely renovated for my personal use and never intended as a rental. Well a move to the West Coast changed all that. So…Cottage #4 has everything I love and wanted in a cottage, a big kitchen designed for a cook.. with great appliances, great pots and pans, good knives, big gas stove, Bosch dishwasher, redwood counters, and an old soapstone sink. The bedroom has a comfortable queen sized bed, large window and skylight. The bathroom is beautiful, but the outdoor shower is all you will use. There is a big screen porch overlooking a private yard and wooded wetlands. There is cable TV (flat screen), and high speed internet. Its a spacious cottage perfect for two people. Just 2 miles to the national seashore beaches and a a short walk to beautiful Fort Hill and views of Nauset Marsh. My past guests have all said how much they feel at home in the cottage...and never want to leave.

This quintessential sun filled 576 square foot Cape Cottage is located in the historic Fort Hill area. The home has been fully renovated with modern design and amenities. There is an outdoor shower, screened in porch, gas grill, fireplace and central A/C and ceiling fans for the summer months. The home is well appointed in simplistic and comfortable style. It s the perfect spot for a couple or small family. Please note, the maximum guests are two individuals. Given that this is a small house, the cottage has limited closet space. There is ample storage under the beds for clothes and two areas with shelves available for guests. As much as we would love to host guests with dogs, some canines have not been well behaved at the cottage. We no longer can allow dogs or pets of any kind.

From Mid June through Labor Day, Summer Rentals are Saturday to Saturday. Nestled In the Cape Cod National Seashore. Enjoy this secluded cottage style apartment; only 0.2 (two tenths) of a mile from Coast Guard Beach. Another mile north along Ocean View Drive you will find Nauset Light, and the Three Sisters Lighthouses. A European Copper Beach Tree welcomes you to our home and offers shade on a hot day. A rose covered rock wall gives a feeling of Cape Cod so many years ago. Guests can walk to the beach, go for hikes, bike rides, or kayak adventures nearby. The interior of the apartment has a living room with a Vermont Cast-Iron gas stove for off season warmth. Three large windows gives an open roomy effect. There is SMART TV with Antenna service. The newly renovated kitchen (2023) is completely functional and has a gas stove, microwave, and new (2023) refridgerator. The bath on the first floor includes a stackable washer/dryer. Two small bedrooms are up the narrow staircase; each has a double size bed. There are small window A/C in the bedrooms. NO air conditioning downstairs, but fans are provided. In the summer season we usually will only accept full week rentals, Saturday to Saturday. Thank you for understanding.

There is a small patio with a gas grill, and a small, rather private deck which includes an outside shower.

Very nearby is a bike trail that leads to The Salt Pond Visitors Center just a mile up the road. Here one may find natural resources and information, as well as organized canoe or kayak adventures (in season), and a great little gift shop.

Options within a mile or two are too many to list; but a few are: An Athletic Club, Drive In Theatre, Movie Theater, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Famous Cape Cod Flea Market, Golf, Tennis courts and more. Please come and enjoy the natural surroundings and/or tourist attractions of the cape.

A great location on the waters edge of Orleans town cove.

Enjoy the inner waterways of the National Park in a Kayak from the 50 foot dock only a few steps from the door. This is a popular location for Kayaks as you can access Nauset and Coast Guard beach or the Salt Pond at the National Park visitor's center easily.

The cottage has views of the water from all rooms, a private back yard to relax in the hammock by the water or enjoy cookouts or cocktails. Watch the lobster and fishing boats go by or catch fish of your own from the dock.

This is a great house in a great setting close to all the major attractions on the lower cape. It's only a few minutes to the National Seashore, or the bay side beaches by car. Close to great golf courses in Brewster, Chatham, and Truro. Cape Cod Rail Trail parking is less than 1 mile away. Also, only a few minutes to Orleans and Wellfleet center with lots of restaurants, and shopping.

The apartment is a lower level walk out: private, quiet and secluded. Renting is, 4 pm on arrival day to 11 am on departure day.Completely renovated a few years ago. Brand new queen bed, all tile floors, concrete counter tops, flat screen tv's, wifi, laundry, fully equipped kitchen, large deck perfect for grilling and chilling. Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Light Beach (ocean side beaches) are approximately two miles, and it is less than a 1/4 mile to Cape Cod Rail Trail and 1/2 mile to Nauset Bike Trail to Coast Guard Beach. Mature gardens are in bloom. Cats are welcome (keep indoors). Dogs are negotiable. We have three Persian cats--Melvin, Moses and their sister Marley--who you may see out on their enclosed "catio."

We explored the entire Outer Cape from Chatham to Provincetown, even ferried to Nantucket for a day. This location was the perfect central spot for that. We also spent two days at Nauset Light Beach which is only a five min. drive away. There was a large utility room where the washer and dryer were kept which made a great spot to hold our two golf bags and beach equipment. There was even chairs and boogie boards available there, if you forget yours!"

The backyard is very large and has several flower cutting gardens but is still considered "shared" space even though you may never see anyone else. The dock is shared space if anyone else happens to be around as well.

Shared amenities are just the private dock down on the pond, offering a tranquil spot to unwind. While the property includes another cottage behind a privacy fence on the other side of the property, our shared space is minimal, ensuring your retreat remains peaceful and private.

For Airbnb: A quick note on who you are paying for what, because lately everyone asks some version of who am I paying for what and to who. We set two things. One. The nightly rate for the home itself which we keep as fair as possible for this area. Two. The cleaning fee matches what our professional cleaning company charges to clean and reset a home this size. Those are the only amounts we control. Airbnb collects its own platform service fee for using the Airbnb site and support. Airbnb may include that platform fee in the total price you see here instead of showing it as a separate line which can make it look like it is part of what we charge. It is not. That amount goes to Airbnb. You will also see taxes as a separate line. Those taxes are required by state and local rules for this area. We do not set the tax rates, and we do not keep those funds. Airbnb calls this “fee transparency”.

Look for the Guest Parking sign and the path to the entrance on the LEFT side of the house. The property is large and the Cape has few street lights so it takes a little more effort if arriving after dark. Let us know your arrival time ahead of time and we can make it easier for you.
