Some suggestions: Better communication to the security guards about guests coming would help. Many of the guards were not even aware of this property, and none of them spoke English. We had trouble getting through the two gates on more than one occasion. It would help to add the following for guest use: vegetable peeler, can opener, electric dishwasher soap, paper towels, cleaning products, replacement trash liners, mixing bowls, and dish cloths. Booking is very difficult if your arrival is after hours. We had to wire money for payment. More payment options should be considered, including allowing Expedia to be a payment broker, instead of only “pay at property.” The property manager should be more accessible prior to arrival. It took awhile for us to connect with the property manager, but once we could text with them, it worked out fine. There were no checkout instructions. The pool pump required repair while we were there, so we only accessed the pool at the start of our trip. "

Casa de Colores is exactly that! Filled with vibrant colors throughout the house. Located on the north end of Half Moon it’s an easy walk to Yal Ku Lagoon and Half Moon Bay. This house features four bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms plus there is a half bath in the common area. All of the bedrooms are furnished with king beds except for the Orange room which features a double futon and queen bed. The connected casita has a separate kitchenette and a small sitting area in addition to the sleeping area. There is a king bed in the casita.

The well equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking or not! Enjoy sharing meals in the dining area but feel free to dine al fresco on the patio! Take a refreshing dip in the private pool or just relax under the palapa shade. A perfect spot: The space was perfect for our get-together of three couples with small kids. Being right on the ocean - hearing it all night, having the views throughout the house, etc - is simply extraordinary. The beach isn't a swimming beach but it was fun to explore the rocks and the sea life with our little kids. In general, the house is very comfortable for families and the staff is extraordinarily accommodating. We expected a little more interaction with the team but they are reserved and we had our space - that was just fine for us. USA Transfers was a great option for roundtrip airport transportation ($199 USD for our group of 10 people). We loved that Shelly gave such detailed recommendations and in general felt the space very well equipped for the family-oriented experience we were seeking. -- March 2023

Have you rented a vacation home and arrived to find that someone was going to get the bedroom that left a lot to be desired? Was it under the stairs, windowless, dark and maybe a little depressing? The two master suites upstairs are perfect for two vacationing couples – both offer a full view and spacious bathroom because we designed our home for two couples to share equally. If you need a fifth bedroom, our adorable casita will fill the bill – this two-level charmer has its own kitchen, dining and living room and a circular staircase leads to the King bedroom and full bathroom above – with views of the Caribbean on both levels and a balcony overlooking the pool on the second floor.

We designed, built and furnished Casa de Colores in 2007, but our guests will find our home as fresh and beautiful today as when we opened. We want you to have the same wonderful experience we have every time we visit. Casa de Colores is as comfortable, convenient, safe and enjoyable as possible.

Casa’s ideal location on the northern edge of Half Moon Bay, facing the Caribbean, brings fresh breezes off the sea and provides perfect access to the Bay and its renowned snorkeling experience. From our terrace, watch a blue heron catch its dinner, or walk on the beach at the Bay to check out the turtle nests. Snorkel over the abundant coral reef with its lively array of colorful tropical fish or walk five minutes from Casa to the spectacular Yal Ku Lagoon and have the snorkeling experience of your lifetime.

Our pool is protected from the wind by its location on the non-Caribbean side and it’s also larger and somewhat deeper than most pools in the area. The expansive terrace offers plenty of comfortable lounging space and two palapas provide shade for the sun-averse.

RENTAL PROCESS / RULES
All rental communication with the owner will be via email and ONLY with the group leader.
Confirm all passports are valid for your entire travel dates, which may vary by airline.
Select “BOOK NOW,” check availability, enter information and credit card.
50% of the invoice must be paid in order to secure the reservation, with the remainder due 60 days prior to check-in date. 100% due at booking for New Year’s, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks.
GUEST agrees to pay a refundable damage deposit of $700 USD via credit card, PayPal or check at time of booking. Any damages in excess of "normal wear and tear" will be deducted from the deposit, which will be returned within one week of check-out.

Casa Cielo is a five bedroom, five and half bath beachfront villa which highlights a traditional Mexican colonial design style, including a high brick dome over the living area. The design focuses on the incredible views, white sand beach and bright blue swimming pool. The villa offers approximately 5,000 square feet over two levels, plus a 5th bedroom casita, and can very comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests. The entire villa is cooled by central air conditioning.

General Layout:
The main level of Casa Cielo is a bright and open space which leads from the garden side main entry through to the beach side swimming pool and patio area. Included on the main level are the full kitchen, well equipped for cooking and entertaining, breakfast bar with swivel bar stools, dining area with seating for eight. All appliances have been updated in January 2023 including a new stove and oven, a French door fridge with a built-in ice maker, and a special reverse osmosis faucet in the kitchen. The main living area is well furnished with over sized chairs and ottomans and a large built in sectional sofa. From the main living area, access the large pool area. The pool area is also furnished for comfortable outdoor living. From the kitchen, you can enjoy a full ocean view, or a cool and shady garden view from a large bay window located in the kitchen area. Also on the main level is a very spacious master suite with private terrace and ocean view. The main level primary suite is furnished with a king bed, a sofa bed and has a large private bath with oversized shower, soaking tub and double vanity.

The upper level houses three bedrooms.

The beachside swimming pool of Casa Cielo is lovely, a deep cool blue, glistening in the sun. The pool is finished with tile and tile mosaics and can be heated. The rooftop terrazzo is complete with built-in seating and makes an excellent setting for evening drinks, taking in the view, and watching the stars. South Akumal enjoys one of the most perfect beaches in the area. A long stretch of white sand runs the length of the bay. South Akumal Bay is also dotted with coral heads making it an excellent place to snorkel or swim.

Akumal is a quaint fishing village with excellent restaurants, dive shops, good shopping and great beaches. It boasts phenomenal snorkeling in Yal-Ku Lagoon and Akumal Bay. We pride ourselves on being quiet, relaxed and laid back, but full of fun and completely surrounded by all those tropical amenities such as warm white sand beaches, aqua blue water, crystal clear lagoons, scuba diving, sport fishing, ancient Mayan ruins and wonderful cuisine.

Outside you will find a large patio area with a charcoal grill, swimming pool, and small private beach area. In front there is parking for up to 3 vehicles and just steps away from one of the area's best full service restaurant. The villa has a total of 6 bedrooms including the owners suite and all have king or queen beds, and are air conditioned. A fully equipped kitchen with bottled water, large dining/living room, TV/DVD. we furnish all linens, towels, wash cloths, bath soap and beach towels. Baby beds are supplied upon request. check time is at 3:00 pm and check out is at 11:00 am. We have wonderful caretakers who are excellent cooks. If you desire to have some are all of your meals prepared by them, you can speak with them about the price for their services and that is based what types of food and how many meals. Villa Cascadas has the architectural blend of a 21st century Spanish Hacienda with 18th century charm and furnishings. Before entering this lovely home, you will encounter the natural-looking, lighted swimming pool that features a man-made rock waterfall. The downstairs has 2 bedrooms with king-size beds and private bathrooms (both have showers and one also has a tub). There is also a dining room and large living room with a sweeping view of the ocean.

The upstairs has two bedrooms separated by an exterior courtyard with a lovely garden. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, sitting area with an sofa bed and a private bathroom with shower. Casa del Sol, an Akumal Landmark and one of our favorite houses!

Casa del Sol is well known for its great location, right at the headwaters of Yal-Ku Lagoon, very private, and for its funky eclectic decor. Previously owned by the band The Grateful Dead, this house is perfect for large groups or families, and has hosted some big name celebrities in its time.

The outdoor kitchen and living area on the lagoon side of the property are great for entertaining and family get-togethers. Access to the lagoon is very easy, just down the garden path and across your own private bridge into the cool clear water of Yal-Ku where you can snorkel with the fish all day long. There is also a fabulous roof patio, where you can sit surrounded by the lagoon and the jungle.

Casa del Sol is well known for the many unique murals painted throughout the house that highlight the area's Maya History and Natural Beauty. This house is truly one of a kind and lends itself very well to people just "hanging out" together and having a great time! Merily, Obideo and Leo the caretakers, do an excellent job. They are very charming and will take excellent care of you. Obideo is also available to prepare meals for an additional fee, which we highly recommend you try.

Casa del Sol offers many amenities including a swimming pool and a lagoon side palapa with plenty of hammocks and lounge chairs for snoozing away the afternoon. It also has a waterfall with its own tiny dipping pool on the lagoon side of the property. The refreshing waterfall is a wonderful place to give yourself a water massage after a swim in the lagoon, and it's also great for kids to play in the dipping pool when the waterfall is switched off. There's an outdoor shower for rinsing off after snorkeling.

Casa del Sol offers 5 bedrooms and can sleep up to 13 people. There are 2 bedrooms on the second level. One room has 2 queen beds, the other has 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed which can be set up upon request. Each bedroom has a private bathroom and air conditioning. This property’s central location makes this one of the best properties within walking distance to all the great shops, eateries, and beaches in town. Designed to entertain parties of 10 to 12 guests, featuring the Caribbean Sea from the rocky shore between Akumal Bay and Half Moon Bay. Villa Seagate uses traditional masonry techniques to maintain the house fresh for guests during their stay.

An expansive living and dining area with large windows and glass doors opens to an oceanside patio. Next to the dining room, there is an entertainment room and a fully equipped kitchen with a door that leads to the pool deck. The entertainment room features AC for those looking to relax after a full day of swimming and diving. The expansive living area and kitchen are designed to catch the ocean breeze.

Each one of Villa Seagate’s bedrooms faces the Caribbean and has either a porch or a cozy balcony. All four bedrooms have their private en-suite bathroom decorated in colorful Mexican tiles and AC. Three of the bedrooms feature a king-size bed, while the 4th bedroom comes with two double beds and a single bed.
The new garden casita is a fifth bedroom located towards the front of the property. The casita features a king bed, which can also be set up as 2 twin beds.

This villa has a large oceanfront lounging area complete with hammocks and a small manicured beach for soaking up the sun. The garden-side swimming pool has a limestone tanning deck and a cookout area that is conveniently located by the kitchen.

The pool was really nice and I appreciated that it was not on the ocean side because that side was quite breezy (although also beautiful and comfortable). The location was really good as it was walking distance to where the majority of restaurants are and to Akumal Bay. It was also walking distance to the lagoon and other beachside restaurants. A couple of us also walked to town across the highway. Katie came to welcome us and gave us suggestions on where to eat and was able to get us a golf cart in less than 10 minutes. Jose and Marta were incredible and cooked for us a couple times. They were so accommodating and Jose taught us how to make micheladas! I would absolutely stay here again."

(The insulated cups to use were MUCH appreciated in the July heat) The bedrooms and bathrooms were all spotless, the common spaces were beautifully designed and great for a group. And the number one FAVORITE thing was the pool and beach. The pool and view of half moon bay from it was FABULOUS!! Very private feeling. The day bed on the beach was used for many naps and relaxing moments with the sound of the waves. We even had a sea turtle visitor that would come up nightly to dig her nest. One night getting herself stuck in the neighboring pool of a house under construction. We informed Maria and local turtle rescue groups and we all worked together to get her back into the ocean safely. It was a great trip and I highly recommend this house to anyone thinking about renting it. It was a perfect Akumal beach retreat. We feel so lucky that we got able to stay here and appreciate the space being available to us 💜"

Balam Ek: is an ocean-front, private home located ½ Mile from central Akumal. This beautiful house is designed to take advantage of the Caribbean breeze and the view to the ocean from every room in the house. There are simple and elegant Mexican decorations in every detail of this villa.

The patio leads out to the Ocean and snorkeling access into Half Moon Bay. The beautiful small round pool is on a large wooden deck where the panoramic view invites you to relax with the drink of your predilection in reclining chairs.

On the upper floor are the master bedroom with a king-size bed, a large dresser closet, and a full bathroom. There is a balcony in the master bedroom with a panoramic view of the Caribbean. There is also a small bedroom with a single bed and a private balcony next to the Master bedroom.

The second bedroom upstairs has two queen size beds and one single bed; also, this bedroom has a full bathroom and a large window with a spectacular ocean view.

Downstairs is the third bedroom with a king-size bed; it has a large sliding glass door that leads out to a private terrace surrounded by plants and a beautiful ocean view.

All the bedrooms in the main house have ceiling fans and air conditioning.

The living room downstairs has a spacious area, very comfortable and relaxing, with concrete embedded furniture, details in wood, and colorful Mexican-style cushions; There is a flat-screen TV with internet.

The dining room has a big wooden table with ten chairs which are upholstered in a colorful fabric.

The kitchen is decorated with Mexican-style beige, blue, and green colored Talavera tiles.

It's fully equipped including a refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, toaster, blender, and coffeemaker; in the Pantry, you can find all the utensils, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, casserole dishes, baskets for bread and tortillas, a purified bottle of water, cooler, candles, lighter, etc.

On the large terrace in front of the ocean, you can find a Grill. If you wish you can have your meal prepared at home.

The house also has an attached two-story studio with delicate decoration, upstairs in the bedroom with a king-size bed, closet, full bathroom with a Jacuzzi, and a large balcony with hammocks and chairs to enjoy the great view of the coconut trees and the turquoise water of the Caribbean sea. We did have part of the house with no hot water for 3.5 days, which was not ideal, but it did get sorted out eventually. All positive; getting in the water there is not easy.
