LOCATION

Villa Caracol is located on a cul-de-sac beach road 5 km (3 miles) North of Puerto Morelos. From Cancun Airport take the 307 highway south towards Playa del Carmen and Tulum. At the Crococun Crocodile Zoo, turn left towards the coast. Drive two kilometres to the end of the road and turn left. Drive a further two kilometres north (ocean on your right). Punta Caracol is to be found on the right hand side. Walk in through the right hand side and Villa Caracol is ahead of you, past the pool.

Puerto Morelos, the nearest village is 5 km away, accessible either by a back road or along the highway 307, a 10 to 15 minute drive.

Puerto Morelos

The nearest village is Puerto Morelos, a charming fishing village which has been escaped the ravages of construction and tourism. Previously the centre for the production of gum for the US chewing gum market cultivated from the chicle, Puerto Morelos is now better know for having the second largest coral reef. This is protected by the National Marine Park and local commitment to preservation of the environment which has kept development of the area to a minimum. The original lighthouse leans askew since Hurricane Beulah in 1966.

Puerto Morelos has numerous restaurants, bars and stores. The fishing boats are moored along the seafront and local fishermen bring their catch to the pier

Take a course in Mexican Cooking and join in yoga on the beach at 8.15 each morning. There are many yoga centres in Puerto Morelos.

Have a massage on the beach or make an appointment for the masseuse to come to your holiday home.

There is a variety of shops in and around the town square. Souvenir items, jewellery, and clothing are all available. The handicraft market shows and sells regional folk art, clothing, and crafts. View hammocks being made at one family’s craft booth.

Diving – Explore the world’s second largest reef. Hire a boat and guide from the village of Puerto Morelos and float above the glorious corals, fish, sting rays and turtles.

Fishing – The fishing boats can pick you up form Villa Caracol. and take you for a few hours of deep sea fishing. You can catch barracuda, grouper, and billfish. Cook your catch at home in the evening.

Croco-Cun Zoo – has a collection of crocodiles and other indigenous animals . Offers immensely informative tours (available in English) and opportunities to hold baby crocs and feed the deer.

- "Such a amazing experience." - "Kate/Norbert have done an extraordinary thing with this property. It was our heaven for two weeks and exactly what we needed for five kids and four adults. There was plenty of space and amenities for all of us to live, lounge, and work remotely (internet connection was fantastic). The house was very well maintained. The grounds were managed daily, the pools and house maintained regularly, and needs responded to promptly (ex. more bottled water, an unscheduled pool cleaning). The rooms are spacious -- all of them from the living areas to bedrooms. ACs worked well. The kitchen had all the needed pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and utensils. The fridge accommodated our needs with no problem. The only oddity were some small openings between the bedroom and the bathrooms in those bedrooms. Maybe an architectural solution to manage humidity but it did make privacy awkward. Not a big deal though since the house has many bathrooms. The pools are wonderful and we spent everyday in at least one. Such a pleasure. The kayaks allowed several of us to head out to sea many mornings. The house is well located. While the road to the house is a bit rough, it's not far from supermarkets, laundry, and a good spot to head to Cancun, Chichen Itza, cenotes, Xcaret, coral reef snorkeling, and my favorite: whale shark snorkeling. Puerto Morelos beachside has some great restaurants. Recommended! Thank you, Kate and Norbert, for a wonderful place to vacation!"

Puerto Morelos, a small unassuming town with all the conveniences you could desire and no tourist congestion, boasts fine restaurants, a pizza parlor, cafés, a playground, church, beaches, a grocery store, a bookstore, a travel agency, and a dive shop (if you decide not to snorkel from the beach in front of the Palapa) and once a week an outdoor fresh produce market.

You can also sun and shop and play in Cancun or Playa del Carmen or tour the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum. The entire coast (the Mayan Riviera) is one long stretch of beautiful beaches, cabanas, and ecological environmental parks where you can horseback ride, swim in ceynotes and underground caves and visit the historical Mayan Ruins. Taxis are plentiful and reasonable for trips up and down the coast. There are also tour buses to various Mayan sites that can be booked in Puerto.

Our villas are a unique boutique of a complex because of the proximity to the beach. There are not many around if any that are located so close.
The sand is beautiful the ocean is stunning and the walks any direction with all it sites to see are breath taking. If you walk towards Puerto Morelos watch for the beach bars, they are also kid friendly with a great menu.
In Puerto Morelos walk the square take in the shops and sit for a cold drink and if you have children they can play in the park located right in the centre of PM so they can go off to play and you can watch and enjoy from where you are sitting. Also there is a booth set up by market for all excursions try to barter a better price, there is also a set up on the beach for excursions.
There will be ladies walking the beach with mannequins for hair braids, way cheaper than in town and they will do this right in your chair. There is also a massage studio from stairs at Villa beach front on right hand side, behind them is a little restaurant, comes in pretty handy for a quick lunch.
The food is amazing fresh produce is not like home, soo much better with flavors, the fish market is my most favorite place for the catch of the day, or tuna steak, shrimp, scallops and or steak. BBQing at its best. There are many restaurants to quench any one of your tastes, PM is THE best at many Venues. Just look at the menus out front and there will be many specials and HAPPY HOUR!!!
I love Puerto Morelos, what it has to offer and the people who make a difference, it is small but it has the BIGGEST heart of a town and has so much too offer with its kind, friendly surroundings and I hope you love it as much as we do.
Puerto Morelos is a small fishing village, you will see many boats on the ocean from sun up to sun down, this is where you will see the catch of the day on the menu.
Our house has become a home and It is very spacious and a open concept, it is safe and clean and has everything and more for your needs to have a enjoyable holiday. I wish you much sun, sand, happiness and may your memories be cherished!!!

CHILD FRIENDLY!!! Our home accommodates to my children when we first moved in he was 1 years old and she 4 we picked this back location for many reasons. To have minutes to get to my children if they got out of villa and started heading towards the water. Kid friendly.. there are stairs and different levels like any home if the floor gets wet it will be slippery. We picked this home for the tranquil peacefulness to watch my children play on the grass in the green space for them to watch all the birds of many colours, they have fun with adventures to find different creatures and the geckos are their most favorite. People ask many times if it is beach front... we are a 7 villa complex we are not Ocean front.. we are Beach Front villas, we sit closer than all hotels and pay higher taxes to be on beach front and the reason we chose our location as it is a hidden jewel ...a lot of people don't know about. Our villa has never disappointed anyone, the pictures don't do it justice is the comments that I normally get, I probably get more bookings if I up dated.... but the madness to my reasoning is...when guests come they are blown away with what they chose for their vacation and what a awesome surprise for our guests to see what they chose to rent and are very excited to have made their choice with us. This is one of the most beautiful villas we have ever stayed in.
The whole floor downstairs and upstairs is marble...it reminded us of beautiful Italian Palazzos. Amazing.
The three bedroomed villa is so spacious, beautifully furnished, tastefully decorated and so comfortable.
You walk through the front door and the size of the villa takes your breath away.
There are two televisions, one in the lounge area and another wall mounted in the other lounge area.
The owners have installed a sound system that will blow your minds. It is incredible.
The new kitchen is a dream and has everything.... utensils, pans, crockery and glasses ....everything.
Andrea and Chris the owners, had on our arrival, bread, butter, jam fruit and a bottle of wine ....how kind is that and after travelling from the UK the last thing we wanted to do was go out shopping?
This couple have thought of absolutely everything to make our stay happy and content.
There is a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer.
The bedroom we used (master) has an enormous bed and so comfortable you never want to get out of it!!
The double fronted property has two enormous patios with rattan chairs, tables and a sofa.
Every morning we would sit out to have our breakfast and watch the golden globe of the sun rise over the sea.
The pool area has brand new sunloungers and the pool itself is superb.
To sit out and watch the world go by or to just read was such a pleasure.
There are seven villas in the complex.
The gardens that surround the villas are glorious and attracts hummingbirds and birds of every colour you can think of.
Too much sun? There is a huge covered area with sun loungers too.
Pilar is the Property Manager and is charming. She was so helpful and kind and is a fountain of knowledge about the area.
Jorge looks after the villas and he too is such a lovely kind man.
For these two nothing was too much trouble.
Walk into town along the beach or on the peaceful road that runs parallel to the beach.
The Mayan people of Puerto Morelos are the most beautiful of people.
Always smiling, kind, patient and gentle.
We as total strangers were always greeted when passed on the road and we of course reciprocated.
We are planning next year's holiday right now.

Our first floor villa allows you to walk directly to the infinity edge pool or white sand beach from either the living room patio or master bedroom patio. Enjoy your morning coffee as you watch the sun rise over the Caribbean Sea. The second largest barrier reef in the world is right off our patio. Our completely remodeled villa has a large master bedroom suite with its own separate bathroom and patio/porch. The second bedroom has its own separate bathroom. The living area has a large couch, dining table, full kitchen, and patio/porch. The two bedroom areas are separated by a lockable door for privacy, making the space ideal for two couples or a couple with children.

The Villas is remotely located giving you a quiet and peaceful sanctuary in this Mexican paradise. The quaint fishing village of Puerto Morelos is only one mile to the north and the El Cid Resort and Marina is only one mile to the south. All within walking distance to restaurants and activities.

The restaurants in Puerto Morelos offer excellent choices of cuisines from around the world with that authentic Mexican touch. A new grocery store was built in town and fresh seafood market is also available. You will also find local dive shops, fishing tours, and snorkeling tours in town. And of course, shopping at the local artisan shops. The town square is always bustling with activity. At the cab shack you can find a ride to anywhere.

Snorkeling & Scuba Diving - The Great Mayan Barrier Reef located directly in front of the complex is the second largest reef in the world. The reef is home to lobsters, turtles, groupers, barracuda, dolphin, sting rays and a host of other colorful Caribbean fish. Cenote cavern swimming and diving in crystalline fresh water is just a short drive away. All the local dive shops offer scuba diving and snorkeling packages.

Fishing - Charters can be caught at the world class El Cid Marina just down the beach or you can go into town and book a trip with the locals and enjoy Billfishing and light tackle fishing.

The property manager, Arlene, was very helpful. It’s a bit of a walk to town, and so we rented bikes to get around in Puerto Morelos and get over to Colonia. We will definitely be back." - "The condo is great and the property is well maintained: everything is clean and in working order. The grounds of CRV are neat and nicely landscaped. The beach is narrow and rocky and the thick seaweed made getting in and out of the sea difficult but we did manage to swim several times. People are friendly and helpful. Walking to town was treacherous in places due to the lack of sidewalks. But Puerto Morelos is a charming place and worth the walk. Taxis were $10-12 usd one way. We had a very enjoyable vacation."

Villa Coralina, a spacious three-bedroom villa, offers magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea and the world’s second longest barrier reef. It is one of the few beachfront homes in this area. Newly renovated, it sits in a small, gated complex with just 6 other homes, an infinity pool, and a secure off-street parking lot. Being nestled between 2 deluxe resorts also enhances the feeling of being in a safe, luxury area. A knowledgeable bi-lingual property manager will assist you as necessary with information about local activities and culture or with any need that may arise during your stay .

Villa Coralina features travertine floors, stairs and bathrooms as well as furniture custom-made by local craftsmen. Beautiful curved stairs lead you to the three spacious upstairs bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms. The master bedroom includes a queen-sized bed, and wall-mounted wide-screen tv. Off this bedroom is a spacious walk-in closet with a double shower and double sinks in its adjoining bathroom. A second bedroom offers a king sized bed. French doors in both of these bedrooms open to private balconies with expansive views of the ocean, perfect for watching the sun rise with morning coffee. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds and looks over the luscious gardens of the complex.

Downstairs offers a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen and spacious living area. Walking just twenty minutes along the beach leads to the charming and picturesque village of Puerto Morelos. Thanks to the progressive zoning and careful development, it remains as one of the last true Mexican fishing villages on the Mayan Riviera. From its tilted lighthouse, town square, and quaint Catholic church, it is a one-of-a-kind place. Local residents will welcome you to the town square for frequent festivals and music events. Stroll the narrow streets of the village to find restaurants and outdoor bars serving local and international cuisine or tiny shops and markets offering locally made crafts and gifts.

The location of the villa is ideal. It is an easy 20-minute drive from the Cancun airport. Just off the beach is the second longest reef in the world and snorkeling trips can easily be arranged from the beach. Playa del Carmen and its lively 5th Avenue is a 30-minute drive away. You can learn about the ancient Mayan civilization at the ruins of Tulum, Coba, and Chichen Itza, each an easy day-trip away. - "Great place to stay. Wonderful house, views and pool. Pilar was extremely helpful in arranging all our transportation and any issues we had. She was also there to greet us and to say good bye. Ward the property manager was also extremely helpful answering any questions we had. All and all we had 1 issue but both were very helpful in trying to take care of it. We will definitely stay again." - "We spent a week here with our 4 children ages 18 - 24 and had an absolutely wonderful time. The inside of this unit is even bigger than it looks in the pictures, we were amazed when we walked in. The rooms were really clean and despite seeing a review about bugs, we honestly never saw a single one. The property has a private parking lot with an automatic gate and the grounds are very well maintained. Pilar (the property manager) is an absolute delight. I was in touch with her a few weeks in advance of our trip (via WhatsApp) and was able to pre-arrange some details of our stay. Our flight arrived on the late side and by the time we had the rental car and made the 35 min trip to the property, it was well after dark. Pilar was there waiting for us, showed us around the property and the unit and then suggested some local places to go eat. We didn't need to ask her much throughout our trip, but for the few questions we had, she was always very prompt to answer them. It was very nice to have a local to run things by - she knows the area very well and has connections for any activity/chef/etc you could need. The unit is fantastic, beautiful art and plenty of amenities - even a refrigerator that gets it's water from 5 gallon bottles (of which they were well-stocked). The pool is so great to have and we spent a lot of time there, only footsteps from the unit and the beach (where you can take great walks in either direction. The little town of Puerto Morelos is a quick 10 min drive and has many great places to eat and drink. There is a great grocery store a block off the square and a farmer’s market on Wednesdays---you won't need for much more. We will definitely return!"

- "Unit as pictured. We did not cook in kitchen, but there appeared to be sufficient pans etc. for cooking. It was nice that the rental had a sufficient supply of potable water. We did not use the pool as it was a bit chilly for our personal taste, but it appeared clean. View from penthouse balcony is beautiful as pictured. This unit is a 30-minute walk down the beach to some of our favorite restaurants. At night we would taxi, they charged us anywhere from 140 to 180 pesos each way. I appreciated the owners help with providing taxi service numbers and was able to pre book trips to the airport, Playa Del Carmen and Cenotes. TV, internet and AC worked well. We really enjoyed the AC off and opening the sliding door to listen to the ocean and the ocean breeze."
