I think you will like my place! Its decorated like a beach house located in a tropical atmosphere with over 39 large palm trees, & lots of banana trees & thick green grass in the summer. You may see various wildlife that live along the creek bank like Raccoons, turtles, otters & Great Blue Herons! Im close to restaurants, nightlife, Historic sights, hospital (<10 min), shopping & FLETC (<3min). St Simons Island is about 15 minutes away & Jekyll Island about 25 minutes. Its a nice "simple" casual place. You have CH&A, full kitchen, washer & dryer, starter coffee, tea, sugar ect , all the basics you need. The bed is queen size, and the blue jean couch is comfortable. Its located on a tidal creek that's about 4' @ high tide & 0' @ low tide. Guests have access to the breezeway connecting the unit to my house where I have a patio table & 4 chairs & a charcoal grill, the hammock gazebo area next to the creek, the area immediately behind the unit w/table, chairs & umbrella & in the unit itself. Any other part of the property is my private area. Theres a wifi lock on the front door. Older established neighborhood with huge moss covered oaks & long winding roads. Its usually pretty quiet, BUT there can be the usual noise because humans live, work & play around here. Theres historic sites nearby, and lots of salt & freshwater waterways if you like boating, crabbing & fishing! Were not a large town, so you can mostly get anywhere in 30 minutes or less. I have a black doggy named Willow who may come by for a visit. She is a very friendly Staffy mix, but if you dont want her company let me know! Discounts for weekly and monthly stays.

Just one minute away you'll discover the 18 miles of bike trails surrounding the island. You can bike to the fishing pier or the beach and arrive in mere minutes. Or, you may want to visit the Historic District, where over 300 millionaires of the Gilded Age once lived. Movers and shakers of the times like J.P Morgan, Joseph Pulitzer, William Rockefeller and others built homes and a Club House on our island, beginning in 1888. They typically spent 3-5 months down here yearly for the next 54 years. Their homes are being restored and many can be visited and appreciated.

We also have a world renowned Sea Turtle Center, where injured and sick turtles are flown in for surgeries and rehabilitation, and later released back to the sea. "Aloft" is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in between the Jekyll Island airport and the campground. That puts us 5 to 10 minutes from the Jekyll Island beaches by car. Bicycle paths start one block from the house.

Also, you should know that "Aloft" is an open and airy unit with lots of natural light. It has a private entrance through our garage. You may hear the garage door open and close at 6:30 or so in the morning during the days of Monday through Friday (also some occasional weekend days) as that is the time that we go to work. That has not bothered most of our guests, but we don't want that to be a surprise. Otherwise the unit is very quiet. Kitchen facilities are limited. Cooking facilities are a toaster oven, a two burner hot-plate and a microwave. The refrigerator is hotel sized.

***we are going through a heatwave right now till about 8/3. this is an old house and this is an upstairs apartment facing the setting Sun so the AC may have a hard time keeping up between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. The back part is usually the coolest all the time. so I cannot predict when this will happen or if it will happen but I'm just letting you know the temperature may get up between 78 and 80 or so but it cools down quickly to a nice 72° after the sun gets behind the trees. I have very few complaints but I'm just letting you know that this could be a possibility. There is a portable unit in the front bedroom which helps tremendously turning it on during that hot period. if it's cloudy or stormy there's usually not an issue so I can't predict when it may happen if it happens at all. So booking means you acknowledge this possibility and are okay with it getting maybe 78 to 80° for a few hours. I'm in the process of getting mini splits changing over from a central system so I think this will be better for this beautiful old home.

The only shared area is the front porch, but you have your own sitting area. This apt is the UPSTAIRS 3 bedrooms of the original house with a bathroom & landing. This is a 2br unit with a queen bed in each room. This apt is set up for 4 people in 2 bedrooms.
The living, dining, kitchen & utility rooms are all in 1 room, but it works! Im located in Historic Brunswick Ga near our downtown area, but also between both islands & their beaches. Close to every thing you may want to do! The neighborhood has lots of Colonial homes, historic parks with fountains, streets with huge moss covered oaks. I also have another one-bedroom separate apt in this same home downstairs which will sleep 4 so if you wanted a family get-together type situation or you re coming here for a wedding with a lot of family and friends you might want to book both of them at the same time! Close to Jekyll Island (about 25 minutes), St Simons Island (about 15 minutes) & Historic Downtown Brunswick (about 3 minutes, 6-8 blocks) where theres restaurants, nightlife, Historic sights, shopping, festivals, farmers market & more. The "Yellow Deli" is about 2 blocks away where you can walk & have breakfast or lunch, & they make their own breads! FLETC & hospital is about 10 minutes away, & Airports nearby! Easy access to I 95 North & South, so about 1 hour to Savannah & Jacksonville. Its a perfect place to stay while on vacation, if you have long or short term business, are looking for a home to buy or a long term rental, traveling nurses, snowbirds or you or a loved one is @ FLETC going to training ect. I provide a monthly & weekly discount! Its much better than a hotel, & a lot cheaper! The apt has a mostly equipped kitchen with a full size stove & oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, dishes, silverware, plastic storage ect. All towels & linen for the bed, kitchen & bath are provided as well as toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, coffee, filter, sugars & condiments ect. The bath has a full tub w/shower.
The apartment is decorated in a coastal theme, & has nice Colonial features! Washer & dryer included as well, with soap & bleach! All utilities & wireless internet is included, including a 52" tv with cable. Nice cozy porch with shade cloths, couch, love seat & chairs. You have your own designated seating area in front of unit & a shared grill.

*Yard is small & isnt totally fenced, but theres a park across the street & doggie bags by the door & in drawer in kitchen.
*Must bring 2-4 sheets to cover couch (s) and bed(s) if the pet likes to get on the furniture. Please take them home to wash & do not wash those with my bedding or towels, because pet hair is very difficult to get rid of!

*This is a Old colonial 2 story home that's charming with original windows but they are not energy efficient. There is no insulation in the walls that I can tell. It is like most any other two-story home and it does get warmer than the bottom floor when the temperature is over 95°, it can have a harder time cooling down, & may end up being warm till it cools down after sunset. Therefore it may not be the choice for everyone especially if you like it cold in a house. There are ceiling fans in every room, and keeping the room darkening curtains in front bedroom closed is helpful.

*This is a "port town", & we are located near the ports & waterfront so there is some noise & traffic from that, mainly mon-fri 9-5. Theres railroad tracks about 3 blocks away, & traffic noise from trucks about 1 block away. It is sporadic but there "may be" some noise daily!

This 1 bedroom 1 bath modern cottage on St. Simons Island is an absolute gem for couples or single travelers. This is an ADU that is an offset from the main home. It has its own completely separate entrance so you have plenty of privacy from the main home.

Location is everything with this home! It's located a little over a half mile drive to Red Fern Village where you can enjoy some of the best restaurants, libations, boutiques and even live music that St. Simons has to offer. You are also only a 6-7 minute drive to East Beach and a 7 minute drive to Pier Village where you can enjoy the pier and Neptune Splash Pad if you have kiddos joining you.

While hopefully most of your time is spent enjoying everything the island has to offer, the interior of the home is great for relaxing. You have a modern, fully stocked kitchen for whipping up a delicious meal. You also have 1 bedroom with a comfy Queen bed. Outside in the main living space you also have a twin bed with a twin trundle underneath.

There are two smart TVs in the home for streaming your favorite programs. The backyard is not fully fenced in but there is room for your pups to run around.

Our apartments are set up with one queen bed each and perfectly suited to one or two adult travelers. Please note that our Penthouse Suite Apartment is on the second floor and accessed by your private interior staircase. We love children and for that reason we want to clarify that this upstairs space is not suitable for children under the age of 7 with the exception of an infant in arms - not a toddler or early walker. The open stairway, as well as the glass French doors to the bed/sitting room and kitchen could present a safety hazard.
