- "Went during a very cold time in upstate NY.Entered the residence and there was no heat. It was 58 degrees...if the old thermostat was correct.Communicated with host ,waited an hour with our coats on. They did get someone out and it was supposedly fixed....but we had already left, after waiting an hour, for a local hotel. Here is why...1) just looking at the original thermostat to the older home made us not so confident that we would continue to have heat all night. 2) there were 2 window air conditioners STILL in the windows with NO covers on the outside. One of these units was in the bedroom...it has been very cold and windy lately and cold air was coming in.My husband and I just did not feel secure with the heating situation when the temperatures were in the teens. We were concerned the heat would go out again in the middle of the night on top of the air units allowing cold air in. Street parking was a bit confusing also.We are hoping for a refund but it does not seem likely.While it seems like a great price....you get what you pay for.in."

The house is around 100 years old and holds all the history and characteristics you would expect from such a home. Please keep in mind this is not a modern build, and while updated, it has some features from past decades.

The unit has access to the basement for laundry, but like most basements, it is also for the houses utilities and is not a main living space and is NOT a finished basement.

Guests have full access to the apartment, including the basement laundry, as well as the yard and driveway for off-street parking (driveway parking is shared with upper unit). Guests are asked to stay out of storage and utility rooms off the basement or the second floor unit entryway in the front of the house.

The upstairs unit may be occupied by other air bnb guests, but each unit has its own entrance, so the only shared space is the driveway and backyard. Street parking is available and is usually easy to find.

This apartment includes a spacious living room with sectional sofa and additional comfy chair, separate dining room with table and 4 chairs, two tv trays and an extra chair to move into the living room for an additional seat. The dining room includes a desk can easily double as a workspace. A modern half bath is seamlessly tucked under the stairs. The space includes a fully-equipped kitchen with a complete coffee bar, a Keurig Duo, French press and tea kettle, assorted k-cups, ground coffee, hot chocolate, cider and assorted hot and iced beverage options. The French door refrigerator is equipped with a filtered water dispenser and the freezer has a built-in ice maker. The gas stove and oven are ideal for cooking and baking. The second level includes two spacious bedrooms, both equipped with TV’s and full bath with washer/dryer. Window air conditioners are provided in living room (remote control included in living room and main bedroom), and both upstairs bedrooms during summer months.

This is a one bedroom, second story apartment located in Waverly, NY. We are centrally located, within minutes of Robert Packer Hospital & half an hour from Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital. We are within driving distance of Sayre, Elmira, Watkins Glen, Ithaca & Binghamton. Easy access to I-81.

Fully stocked with dishes, glasses, and basic kitchen utensils, as well as a small collection of pots and pans. A coffee bar is provided and stocked with coffee, teas, sweeteners and creamer. A small dining area is located in the kitchen with a table that seats four. Kitchen appliances include a full sized oven, full sized refrigerator, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. A fire extinguisher is located to the side of the door, next to the panel box. The key to the laundry room is located inside the door, above the kitchen light switch.

A pull out couch with two slipper chairs are provided. The couch pulls out into a queen sized bed, the linens required are located in the chaise lounge. A smart TV is provided, the WiFi information is located on the TV stand. A desk is provided as well. Please mark where you are from on our globe! The house manual is located on the desk, with local attractions and house rules.

Towels and wash clothes are provided. Extras are located in the bathroom under the sink, as well as a hair dryer and basic first aid kit. Shower only, no bathtub.

A queen bed with lots of pillows! A dresser and closet with hangers are provided. A small ironing board, a clothes iron, extra pillows and an extra throw blanket are located in the closet. A smart TV is located on the wall at the end of the bed. A small bookcase holds our family’s favorite games, as well as some books.

Laundry room:

A full sized coin operated washer and dryer are located to the right as you enter the main doors, at the bottom of the stairs. This is shared with all four apartments within the house. The key is located inside the apartment door, above the light switch.i

Apartment is located on the second story. Access the house from the main door on Chemung Street, walk up one flight of stairs and the apartment is on your left. The access code will be provided prior to arrival.

Other things to note
Parking is located in the driveway on Chemung Street. This AirBnB parking space is the right side of the driveway, two cars can fit parked in front of each other. The parking space to the left is saved for another tenant’s use.
