- "The property is in a quiet neighborhood very near to the downtown Geneva area and other are attractions. The home is larger than it appears in the pictures. Well laid out and very comfortable. Access was easy, there is great off street parking and we had every amenity we wanted or needed. There was a minor "glitch" when we initially checked in to the property. Stephen responded immediately to a call and had the concern addressed and resolved in short order. This is a great place to stay if you are visiting the Geneva area, great host, and great location. The historic "Skylight Studio", one bedroom apartment located in downtown Geneva, New York. This recently renovated 3rd floor space was once a photography studio at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century which was the home to J.E. Hale who photographed famous suffragist leaders including Susan B. Anthony. The space was featured internationally in 2021 when a secret hidden attic was discovered which housed photographs and equipment belonging to J.E. Hale.

The space

The Skylight Studio is located on the 3rd floor (top floor) with views of Seneca Street, Geneva and Seneca Lake. The space features one large bedroom with original wood floors (refinished), a queen size bed with 2 night stands and a 5 drawer dresser. There is a closet for storage and clothing as well in the bedroom, complete with bookshelf and smart TV.

The main room has a large kitchen with an island with Trillium countertops, there are two stools underneath the island for seating. The kitchen features a Keurig coffee machine, is fully stocked with with cooking equipment, utensils, spices and oils for cooking. There is a 4 seat dining room table for eating or working on your laptop, and a storage dresser with games, cards, candles and other guest amenities. The seating area has a smart TV with a moveable mount so you can watch the TV from anywhere in the space. There are two reclining chairs in the space.

The bathroom is large with a stand up shower and guests are provided bathroom essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, a first aid kit, cleaning supplies, and more.

There is a door which leads out to the rooftop overlooking Seneca Lake to the left and the famous Geneva Row Houses to the right. The rooftop is secured with a railing and there is a fire escape ladder accessible through a gate in the railing. Guests can enjoy the rooftop area and patio seats are available.

The entire space is recently remodeled and features original stone walls exposed, original wood flooring (partial), and the original wood banister.

This space was a Skylight Photography Studio from approximately the 1880's through the early 1900's, and was occupied at one time by J.E. Hale who photographed famed suffragist leaders including Susan B. Anthony. J.E. Hale took the photograph which was her official photo in the Library of Congress. In 2021, the new owner of the building discovered a hidden attic that had not been known to previous owners and uncovered a treasure trove of photography materials, cameras, photographs and an original print of the famed Susan B. Anthony photograph that personally belonged to J.E. Hale. The story made international headlines and information about the find is displayed in the space. - "Great location. Easy check in process." - "Bob’s place was clean stylish. There were plenty of amenities including full kitchen and washer / dryer. We AirPlayed onto the TV but you could also have signed in with your accounts. Key code entry makes for easy check in. Bars and shops are right on your doorstep, as well as the lovely lake and state park. Rooftop deck has a great view of sunsets. The designated parking in the back is very helpful. It isn’t a problem for us, but for those with mobility considerations - there are two flights of narrow stairs to get up to the top floor of the building, and being an older building the floor is not level. There is a no-smoking policy, but the neighboring apartment had definitive cigarette / incense smell which did come up into our apartment, so we had the windows open most of the time. Other than that it really is a great place to stay."

The rental house is just few miles from many wineries, less than ten miles to Seneca Falls, ck out the many museums, we ate at the Diner. Ten miles away you will find Wildlife refuge and can easily see Bald Eagles along the highway on your way to Refuge. Wegmans in short 4 mile drive. We took our own Kayaks. My husband enjoyed many hours fishing. After reading the description of the rental we anticipated eating at the Crow's Nest near the rental. It seemed to have high reviews. Sadly its been closed for a long time. You can find other eateries nearby. Would recommend this rental to a friend."

- "The unit was very clean and neat and a very nice neighborhood with less than a half mile walk to downtown. The only downsides were no microwave or dishwasher, and only one frying pan plus it is adjacent to a busy road with lots of trucks so it was difficult to sit outside and chat. However with the air conditioner running and comfortable beds, we could not hear the noise and slept well. Also, heads up that the master bedroom is essentially the living room as well so anyone staying in the second bedroom has to walk into the master bedroom in order to get to the kitchen or bathroom."

The space
The Cupola Suite two bedroom (1050 Sq. Ft.), 2nd floor apartment with 3 beds, has hardwood floors, tall ceilings, and many Victorian features, including the original clawfoot tub. The apt. has vintage decor and a bohemian-themed bedroom. It also has modern amenities such as a smart HDTV, WiFi, strips/adapters for smart device charging, in the summer- AC units in the rooms and a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with Keurig coffee maker (we supply both coffee and creamers for you). There is also a drip coffee maker available in case you want to bring your own coffee.

It’s a 10 min drive to local wineries, a 3-minute drive to the Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and a short drive to Watkins Glen State Park, and the village of Montour Falls to see the She-Qua-Ga Falls. The Cupola (please see Sunroom photos in phototour) is thought to have been used to look out to Seneca Lake for returning ships. It is functionally called a belvedere, since it’s not strictly ornamental and you can go into the space and see expansive views of Geneva and Seneca Lake. The cupola was also thought to allow facilitated Victorian air-conditioning to have hot air pulled to the top of the house to be released from the cupola windows. The style of the house is Italianate and the belvedere is an important architectural feature.

Built in 1893, located in the Historic North region of Geneva - it is known locally as the Chacchia house. It was a residential property and was also used for an insurance company founded by Daniel Chacchia, which is still in existence. You can still see his name on the front house door. Daniel Chacchia was born in 1881 in Foggia, located in the Puglia region of Italy, and immigrated to the US in 1901. He got married in Geneva in 1905, raised a family, and in addition to being a leader in the insurance and real estate industries, he was a city hall and court interpreter for 18 years.

The entire apt is available with private access to the house cupola with 360 views of Geneva City and Seneca lake - one of the Finger Lakes district’s major lakes. There is a keypad for self-check-in for the entrance to apartment 2. If you would like to use the free on-site basement washer and dryer, please let me know and I will tell you how to access them.

We are minutes from downtown Geneva, restaurants, cafe's, and Hobart colleges. There's a marina one mile away! Come enjoy Seneca Lake and let us take care of the rest!

The space
This guest apartment has recently been remodeled to a 1 bedroom space. The spacious bedroom has a queen size bed with a new mattress along with a fireplace insert on the wall for you to warm up after a long day out and about. The bathroom has a new stand shower with a closet. The kitchenette space is new as well, with a full-size fridge, 2 top electric burners, and more. There is a Mitsubishi heating and cooling unit throughout. Additionally, there is a table with seating for 2 and a Roku TV along with wifi throughout the guest space. You will also find a microwave, toaster oven, Keurig with k-cups, creamers, and sugar along with all utensils, plates, and glassware.
There is a comfortable seating area with two swivel cushioned chairs, a couch, and a few games for a fun night in. Outside is a grill and table set with two chairs for exclusive use during your stay.

Guest access
Bungalow renters have their own parking space listed in the parking area and access to the entire apartment and portion of the lawn where there is a table and chairs and grill set up for your use. The larger home on property is rented to guests also, those guests have full access to all of the waterfront, decks, firepit, and etc. The only shared waterfront area is the dock. It will be shared with the renters and families of the larger home also. Please be kind to all our guests during your stay.

We are on a Septic system. This system does not allow for anything other than toilet paper to be flushed down the toilets and no food should be put down the drains. The historic "Skylight Studio", one bedroom apartment located in downtown Geneva, New York. This recently renovated 3rd floor space was once a photography studio at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century which was the home to J.E. Hale who photographed famous suffragist leaders including Susan B. Anthony. The space was featured internationally in 2021 when a secret hidden attic was discovered which housed photographs and equipment belonging to J.E. Hale.

The space
The Skylight Studio is located on the 3rd floor (top floor) with views of Seneca Street, Geneva and Seneca Lake. The space features one large bedroom with original wood floors (refinished), a queen size bed with 2 night stands and a 5 drawer dresser. There is a closet for storage and clothing as well in the bedroom, complete with bookshelf and smart TV.

The main room has a large kitchen with an island with Trillium countertops, there are two stools underneath the island for seating. The kitchen features a Keurig coffee machine, is fully stocked with with cooking equipment, utensils, spices and oils for cooking. There is a 4 seat dining room table for eating or working on your laptop, and a storage dresser with games, cards, candles and other guest amenities. The seating area has a smart TV with a moveable mount so you can watch the TV from anywhere in the space. There are two reclining chairs in the space.

The bathroom is large with a stand up shower and guests are provided bathroom essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, a first aid kit, cleaning supplies, and more.

There is a door which leads out to the rooftop overlooking Seneca Lake to the left and the famous Geneva Row Houses to the right. The rooftop is secured with a railing and there is a fire escape ladder accessible through a gate in the railing. Guests can enjoy the rooftop area and patio seats are available.

The entire space is recently remodeled and features original stone walls exposed, original wood flooring (partial), and the original wood banister.

This space was a Skylight Photography Studio from approximately the 1880's through the early 1900's, and was occupied at one time by J.E. Hale who photographed famed suffragist leaders including Susan B. Anthony. J.E. Hale took the photograph which was her official photo in the Library of Congress. In 2021, the new owner of the building discovered a hidden attic that had not been known to previous owners and uncovered a treasure trove of photography materials, cameras, photographs and an original print of the famed Susan B. Anthony photograph that personally belonged to J.E. Hale. The story made international headlines and information about the find is displayed in the space. This home away from home is not a new build. Built in 1894, It has withstood the test of time. The apartment has some of its original features such as pocket doors. You get both downtown and lakefront access at your fingertips. Wine bars, food and fun are just moments away! A scenic, historical park surrounded by 3 churches is within view. Whether you choose to walk the neighborhood or drive, you will enjoy your stay! HWS parents and family are welcome.

The space
The theme room has 2 twin Serta comfort memory foam beds. The bottom bed can maneuver to any spot between the theme room and living room for sleepover fun!

I do not charge a pet fee, but there are spacific rules for "pet parents".
** They are not allowed on any furniture.

Our lake has a beautiful green area for pet play. The lake is a 5 min walk from the apartment.

Welcome to "The Wheat House on Main". Built in the early 1800's, located in the Historic District of Geneva, just steps from Hobart and William Smith College and the beginning of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail.

Historic 2nd story apartment; 1 Large King Suite Bedroom (with an AC unit); 1 Queen Bedroom; 1 Bedroom (walk through room, no door) with 2 twin beds that can pop up to a make a large Queen bed.

1 bathroom, small kitchen (not updated) with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishware (stove not available for use), sleeps 4-5 comfortable, 6 people max.

*This unit 4 is comparable to a hotel suite. If you are looking for a large dining area, large kitchen, and private patio, downstairs UNIT 1 would be more ideal.

Access to basement with washer/dryer machine, coin operated.

Walking distance of HWS campus, boat house, downtown Geneva restaurants, coffee shop, Geneva History Museum (3 houses away), and Seneca Lake Park.

*Please note the twin bedroom is on the side of the house, closest to the street, there is noise from the traffic throughout the night. There is a box fan and sound machine available to use. This is a multi unit property on college campus, it not a single family home experience, it is more of a small city hotel like experience.

The space
The Loft has a single bedroom which contains a Heavenly Bed from Westin. All bedding & pillows are provided. There are extra blankets and additional bedding if needed.

There is a separate living/dining/kitchen area that has a stove top, air fryer and full refrigerator. A coffee maker, coffee and filters are provided, along with some spices. There is an ample supply of plates, coffee cups, silverware, pots, pans, knives and some cooking utensils.

The bathroom contains a single shower with bath towels, face towels and wash clothes.

**A limited amount shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper and paper towels are provided. If you run out, you will be responsible for purchasing more.
