There were ceiling leaks by the elevators and in the hallway to our condo. The floor in the condo was sandy. We swept it and contained our sand to the entryway. Check in and check out was a breeze. We had trouble getting the TV to turn on even after having help over the phone. They sent the maintenance the next morning while we were out for breakfast. After that, we had TV service. I would recommend this facility for a short-term stay. The kitchen was well stock with plates, utensils and cookware. All appliances worked well. This was our third place to stay on our travels. Still wondering who teaches the cleaning people to make beds. This was the second place that we weren't sure what they were thinking when they changed the linens."

- "This home was perfect for my large family " - "The property had broken boards along the walkway. This was unsafe for everyone. The patio furniture had broken arm rails! The back yard pool was not in use and this was inconvenient. The couch was stained and dirty. The only positive was the place was clean in the sleeping areas with clean bed linens and plenty of towels were provided for our use. " - "The property wasnt at all what i was hoping for. Definitely nice distance from the beach. Property itself was the let down. The property slept 10, but not everyone was able to set together in the common area. Even the pulloutbed had springs missing.Even the decks had insufficient seating, great if you was wanting to set by yourself and enjoy the view but again poorly supplied.The floor was questionable couldn't tell if it was dirty, dingy or thats the way it was made. Every room had broken and cracked tiles in the floor, we wore shoes the whole time inside. The kitchen was poorly supplied wasnt able to cook due to lack of pans or any cooking utensils. The two pan we had only one was able to be used because the Teflon was flaking and peeling off the other. The only spatula was a metal one for outside use. Diswasher was new but rollers had been melted in the heating element before we got there ,made for an annoying time loading it. There are forks, spoons, knives, glasses and plates. The refrigerator is great.The grill outside seemed like it had be bought by the tenants before us. There was another grill outside, by the pool that is out of service, that had not been taking care of or any way to clean unless you bought your own cleaning tools. The lower deck has broken boards and an open hole that is easy to step in, not fun when have to watch out for safety of children. The bed in the master bedroom, i have slept in cheaper hotels with better beds, no dresser in master bedroom"

We were in 15th floor so that made the stairs near impossible :) Checkin process was so easy! Loved that! Parking was garage. Usually had to go up several levels but that was ok. Sugar Beach Condominiums is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico in Orange Beach. This family oriented complex has 3 pools, a kiddie pool, beachside restrooms, beachside snack and cocktail bar, tennis courts, barbecue grills and picnic areas, gated complex with security guards, The condo has a queen size bed and a small pull out sofa (for children) in the same room.

The space
Picture a standard size hotel room add to that a full size kitchen, washer/dryer, one bathroom and a private balcony. In one main room there is a queen size bed and a sleeper sofa. We do not recommend adults sleeping on the sleeper sofa. The balcony overlooks the tennis court. It does not have a view of the Gulf, however, the complex is located directly on the Gulf with 4 pools, beachside restrooms, snack bar, bbq grills and security.

Other things to note
We Do NOT provide towels. You will need to bring your own bath, kitchen & beach towels. Clean bed linens are provided.

Home of "Sunny Land Motel" circa 1949, Orange Beach. You're sleeping on history. Refurbished-clean... history! It’s like glamping but in a old vintage motel room. Amenities are vintage. If you want a tv or internet do not stay here. This is a charming little spot, that must be appreciated.

The space
Connected to Salt Coastal Outfitters boutique and s few other shops and restaurants in walking distance with the beach in your backyard. (The beach is about 100 yards away... you CAN'T see the beach from our place, but once you walk past a few beach houses and over the sand dunes, ahhh!)

Note. To get to the beach you have to walk thru a empty grown over lot, there are some sand burrs so wear shoes.

Feel free to lounge anywhere on our spacious porch you can use any of our chairs. Please know we do not supply WiFi in this old motel room so bring your phone or hotspot. :)
The space was previously one's surf shack, we've transformed it into a airy fresh space.
Although it was once someones living quarters-- it is SMALL, I mean quite literally think... motel room. But, spruced up!
Equipped with a cold fridge. Some utensils, plates, bowls, and two coffee mugs to enjoy with our French press coffee system (we've also added a regular keurig coffee pot due to some visitors not understanding the French press) , a queen bed, table and chairs, retro mini fridge ( open from top sometimes the little handle falls off) and a SINGLLLEEEEEE shower bathroom! The shower was repaired it’s old remember and the handle is not fancy AT ALL but it works. So if it’s beauty you are looking for this is not it. It’s glamping in a surf shack remember! Nothing fancy, no fluff. If you are looking for that please do not book our space. And it’s from 1959. WE WILL ONLY SUPPLY TWO TOWELS SO PLEASE BRING EXTRAS IF YOU NEED MORE.
Please, Remember this place was once a single motel room from the fifties, besides paint, most of it is still circa 1950. As for the back door keep it closed it’s not part of the space.
Do not go out back. The front door is solid wood from 1959. Has been thru several hurricanes and flooding so it’s swollen. It looks like it’s not completely closed but it is. It’s very safe. You can lock from inside as well.
Perfect for a getaway...whether that be 'getting away' for a weekend or week(s)--it's all yours.
This space is connected at the end a business that operates from 10 to 6. We're all friendly here, but be respectful :)
Checkout is at 930. I know it’s early but cleaners are hard to find at the beach. The unit has a window unit for air. There S fan and ceiling fan too. In the summer it gets super hot. It stays cool in the unit but not cold. It’s literally like being in a house in Italy. lol
They don’t have ac at all. It’s like camping. Just warning u incase you are one of those people who need it to be icy cold.

Have fun with the whole family and friends at this newly renovated(April 2023) 2 BR 2 BA condo. Very nicely decorated giving it the beach life feel to escape your everyday life. There are two pools, one is oceanfront and the other across the street as well as a fishing pier. There is an elevator and carts to transfer luggage. I have plenty of beach chairs and toys on the deck to bring to the beach.

The space
As you enter, the kitchen is on the right and fully equipped for food preparation and service. Wine glasses, ninja blender, drip coffee maker(supplies for this aren't guaranteed), and plenty of drinkware. as well as pots and pans. The dining table seats six, and there are two bar chairs. The first bedroom on the right has a twin over full bunk bed as well as a twin pullout trundle to sleep 4. There is also a TV in this room as well. The bathroom attached to this bedroom can also be accessed from the main living area and there is a full size washer and dryer. The living room has a queen sleeper, loveseat and chair as well as a 55 inch TV with Netflix and cable TV. In the master bedroom there is a very comfortable queen mattress, wall mounted TV, and an ensuite bathroom. The deck off the back side has beautiful ocean views as well as a direct view of the pool. It has four chairs for relaxing outside as well as a loveseat couch with small dining table. You can also find plenty of supplies of beach chairs and toys out here to use.

Guest access
Gulf Village condominiums not only have the beach right outside; they enjoy a private fishing pier on Little Lagoon across the road behind the cottages. The condo is on the third level, with the elevator right around the corner. There are two pools, with one just below the condo. Grills are poolside and parking is underneath the building, with carts to transport your luggage to the condo! Bring only what you need; there is a full size washer/dryer in the extra bathroom.

I would also like to add that the elevator is a convenience, there are times it may not function because of our close proximity to the beach and other guests misuse. We have a contract with a repair company and they will come out within 4 hours to repair it within that time frame, if they dont need to order parts, but I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware that on rare occasions it does go out.

Other things to note
The property is 1.3 miles away from The Hangout on West Beach. Wonderful seafood restaurants are nearby, and the Tanger Outlets are a few miles up Highway 59 in Foley. Just a couple of blocks up West Beach Boulevard, there's the Beach House Kitchen for dining out as well as S&S Seafood, which will fry, blacken, or steam seafood for you to bring back to the condo. Janino's Pizza is just across the street for easy take-out. Billy's Seafood, located on County Road 10 on Bon Secour River, is great for purchasing fresh shrimp, and preparation instructions are even given upon purchase. Rouse's Grocery is prevalent along the Gulf Coast from New Orleans to Orange Beach, and we have one a couple of miles away on Highway 59 in Gulf Shores! You can find wonderful seafood and Louisiana specialties there!

Kitchen is equipped with appliances and kitchenware needed to prepare and serve a meal (no dishwasher). Washer and dryer in the unit. Easy walk to public beach access (0.3 mile) and a few restaurants (0.1 to 0.5 mile)
