Shem Creek loft apartment, Monthly rental only. Built in the Southern vernacular with shiplap walls and finished in classic southern décor this bungalow is both inviting and comfortable. One block away from the Historic Shem Creek Waterway, where at last count, there are 16 restaurants in a 4 block radius. Rent a paddle Board or a Kayak and get out on the water that draws us all to the area. Shrimp boats line the docks and offer up fresh catches daily and the boardwalk to the harbor are hard to beat. The beaches of Sullivans Island and the Isle of Palms are 12 minutes away while historic Charleston is a 15 minute drive and Uber is always available. There is a comfortable well landscaped patio and a grill for your enjoyment. The owners are seasoned renters and have 4 sister properties all next door to one another so plan ahead and bring your friends and family. - "The apt was quiet and a peaceful neighborhood. There was a person who came in to clean the place every two weeks which was a nice bonus. Gabriel was very accommodating. I do have some suggestions. It would be nice to have a binder or something to explain how to work the heater and air conditioner. Also instructions on how to run the television as we struggled with the tv control being slow to warm up to open channels and had push button several times to get the controls to work. We replaced batteries but didn’t make a difference. Perhaps there was a certain trick that we didn’t know to get it to work. Also we didn’t see how to find the satellite tv as it appeared there was only google smart tv. Binder could also contain how to use washer and dryer and what instructions on what to do to close up when you are finished staying. It would also be nice to have some brochures as to fun things to do in the area. Suggestions for restaurants and the like. Since we weren’t from the area we had to do a lot of research to find places to go. We have stayed many times with Vrbo and usually these brochures and binders are lifesavers for the guests. Overall the stay was very nice."

Very private entrance to quiet serene one bedroom suite in Ion. King size bedroom and living room with high vaulted ceilings. Full kitchenette, large comfortable rooms, washer/dryer, and closet with storage. Very close to quaint shops and restaurants.
Walking trails and lovely environment for longer term stay either for lowcountry getaway, work, school or visiting relatives. Does include house generator power if ever needed.

Had everything we needed." - "Before I give a review of the actual property, which was a major disappointment, I want to start by acknowledging the exceptional service provided by the property management company, Stay Duvet. Anne, in particular, was incredibly responsive and quickly addressed our needs and concerns. She acknowledged the problems and quickly made other arrangements for us. They also refunded our cleaning fee. That said, for the price we paid, this property did NOT meet the standard in terms of cleanliness and overall condition. We encountered various issues such as pests, loose doorknobs, doors not closing properly, missing drawer pulls, a filthy screened porch, deteriorating and damaged patio furniture, stains in rugs and shower curtains, missing outlet covers, and overgrown landscaping, among other things. The list could go on, and if there was an option, I would’ve uploaded photos. Our family was not comfortable staying there, so we spent as much time away from the house as we could. Thankfully, our stay at this property was only two days since Stay Duvet (Anne) promptly found us an alternative property in the area that aligned with our expectations and the price we paid. It was an inconvenience to have to pack up and move a family of six, but it was definitely worth it. I would not recommend this property, particularly for families with teens and/or younger children. You’re better off booking a couple rooms at almost any hotel."

Enter the guesthouse on the second story to an open floor plan. There is a fully stocked kitchen, living area with a pull-out bed, and a cozy tv nook when you first walk in. Sliding barn doors lead to the master bedroom with a queen bed, tv, and blackout curtains. There is a walk-in closet with built-in shelving and a washer/dryer. Off of the bedroom is a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo, vanity, and natural lighting. Right out your door and windows are beautiful historic live oak trees, native to the South.
The neighborhood is lovely, located in Old Mount Pleasant. It has lots of character with many trees and wide streets to enjoy a walk, run or a bike ride.
