Just minutes walk is the Ngunguru Estuary which is perfect for swimming, kayaking and also has a water skiing lane. Paddle over to Ocean Beach or the Ngunguru bar for a surf or walk around to Wellingtons Bay. - "Lovely quiet location. Comfy bed. Well-equipped kitchen. So nice to be close to some beautiful places to explore. Only issues: TV Reception poorand remote not working. We had trouble locking the front door (it seemed to lock but didn’t!) We couldn’t make the bedside lights work. These hiccoughs did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay. Albeit the grass area on ground level is enough for potty breaks, the large reserve down the driveway makes up for a good romp in the grassy area. The estuary is a short walk and beautiful as ever. The studio itself is well equipped and everything you need. Large shower is amazing and roomy (it doesn’t have an extractor so it can be a tad steamy but it passes quickly). Deck is pet friendly to close the gate to keep them secure. Beautiful setting, thank you for allowing us to stay."

A beachfront holiday apartment in a Kiwiana Bach style, located in a forest setting in a private corner of our unique harbourside home. All the advantages of a stay in nature with the comfort of nice beds, linen & stylish bathroom.

There is a beach at the boundary, only 20 meters away via our rambling path in a native bush setting. Only 180 steps down to the beach.

The Apartment is recently renovated and features a great indoor-outdoor flow, linking to a charming orchard.

The space:

Inside the suite consists of three spacious rooms: a bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom and a living room with a kitchenette for food prep ready for the outdoor BBQ. A king single bed and a roll out single is sectioned off in the living room.
Step onto the covered veranda where you will find the outdoor kitchen and seating area (gas grill and electric induction hob).. The studio is newly renovated and has its own small hot water cylinder.

Guest access:

Enjoy the exclusive use of the guest studio. Take advantage of the households path to the beach and citrus orchard. However, the upper garden and main house are out of bounds. The onsite parking links to the suite with good lighting and level access. Feel free to come and go anytime but be mindful of noise at night.

After your departure the Holiday Manager will inspect the property to make sure it was left in a reasonably clean and tidy condition, and that there was no damage to any items or the property itself.

Please ensure your rubbish and recycling was removed, dishes cleaned and put away and that if there is a bbq, that it was left clean, as these items are not included in any cleaning fee you may have paid. Once the property has been inspected and we were happy with how it was found then the bond will be refunded after your departure date. If anything needs to be deducted from your bond we will let you know accordingly.

Fantastic beachfront spot with a stunning panoramic ocean view towards the famous Poor Knights Islands. Brand new holiday home built down a quiet lane surrounded by lush native bush.

Down the end of a private lane, situated on a large sloping property right onto the beach. With only a few visible neighbours around, this property has such peace and quiet you can hear the birds singing all day long.
The view is breathtaking, especially with the sun rising over the water directly in front of the house which you can watch from bed!
The architecturally-designed Studio was only completed in 2018 so has all the luxury mod-coms and everything you need. A sealed driveway and carpark for 1 car enables easy access to this single-level house, however there is one set of stairs down to the house.

The ocean front Studio has 1 bedroom with a King size bed (can be split into twin singles; please request) and heatpump/air-con.

There is a sliding wall between the bedroom and open-plan kitchenette where you will find a dining table and chairs, small fridge, microwave/convection-oven, toaster & jug including complimentary tea, coffee, fruit, cereal/muesli, milk, and basic cooking oil/condiments.
Another sliding door leads to the lounge area including sofa, armchair, heatpump/air-con, and smart TV (with Freeview, Netflix, Spotify, etc).
Both sliding doors can be opened to create a large spacious and bright area, which is quite often used for Artists in Residence. Selection of artists works available for sale; please enquire.

There is a full bathroom including shower, toilet, and a separate laundry closet with washer-dryer and extra bed linen/blankets/pillows.

The house is surrounded with decking and plenty of outdoor furniture such as table & chairs and your very own outdoor shower! There is also a large shared grass area and Weber BBQ.

Please be aware the Retreat next door may be rented separately by other guests whom also have access to the outdoor bath and beach track. If you would like to also book the Retreat for extra space/guests please contact us.

The Retreat and Studio will both have access to our unique outdoor hot-water bath with wooden screens for privacy... Gorgeous spot for those romantic nights with your partner (or maybe just some 'you time').

There is a private path to the beach currently under construction, but there is a great public walkway already available off the main road. The beach itself has a black sand/pebble shore with lots of great rocks to walk or snorkel around. Even though this is a public beach, it is never overly crowded. Plenty of tree shade and there's even a small freshwater waterfall!
You will also have access to our bodyboard, snorkelling gear and beach towels.

Less than 10mins drive from the airport - you will love the location of our place! We are a 5-10min walk to the city centre, supermarket, townbasin tourist info & all local/national public transport options too!

The space
Our private unit is at the front of the house and has it's own hotel-style facilities. Newly decorated inside, comfortable, fresh and relaxing! . A spacious bedroom with a queen sized bed, and single bed, is set off a cosy living area that includes a pull out sofa bed. Kitchen facilities are basic - the only sink is in the bathroom, however there is still a fridge, microwave & other cooking facilities to use.

This main road apartment is within very easy walking distance to Central Whangarei City Hundertwasser Art Centre, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets and is on the Hatea Loop Walk. Affordable accommodation ideal for workers to the city or for guests requiring close city access. Minimum night stay is 2 nights and there are no extra charges for up to 2 guests and a cot and highchair can be provided for an infant as well with advance notice. The Whangarei Airport is just 8 minutes drive (6.6kms).

The space
The space is self-contained with gas for hot water and a 2-burner gas hob with rangehood for cooking. Extra linen is provided for longer term guests to do their own washing using the machine provided. An external clothesline is provided. There is a queen bed in the bedroom. Your general basic consumable supplies as per the listing detail are provided to get you started but for longer term stays greater than 7 days, you will need to purchase what you require. Also for longer term stays, if you wish to dispose of your rubbish weekly, please purchase the blue Council bags (from the Supermarket) or the stickers to attach to the bags provided at the apartment and place kerbside early on a Thursday morning, along with your recycling bins if used. Again, supplies of small inside rubbish bags and larger external rubbish bags (both not Council approved bags) will be provided on startup but longer term guests will need to purchase their further requirements. A cot and high chair can be provided on request, please let us know as these need to be transported in for your stay if required.

Parking is to the left of the driveway as you enter please as the house guests take the right driveway entrance so you each have your own space and do not impact on each other in any way.

Other things to note
Please note this is an apartment downstairs with a tenanted house upstairs (with a lovely quiet family residing) so there is an expected level of noise transfer from upstairs movements but having stayed there ourselves, we do not find this excessive and does not impact us in any way when we have stayed during the day or overnight.

Feel at home in our light and airy Urban Retreat with native Rimu touches and a very comfortable Queen Bed. Included is a large bedroom/dining, separate ensuite, separate fully equipped kitchenette, plus a separate Study/Sitting Room. Enjoy the garden views and the native NZ bush backdrop.

The bespoke rimu kitchenette has a full size fridge/freezer, sink, microwave, airfryer, induction hotplate, jug, toaster as well as utensils, cutlery, plates, and pots and pans. You will be provided with some breakfast essentials such as milk, homemade granola, cornflakes, and various tea and coffee (as a starter only).

We have a shared driveway - please drive slowly.

Guest access
Urban Retreat is a wing of our home and the courtyard is shared. We endeavor to give you as much privacy as possible but you may see us walk through the courtyard as it leads to our main entrance and to the garage. The entire wing is yours to enjoy with your own facilities, deck and entrance. There is a barbeque and small table and chairs on your deck for your enjoyment. You are welcome to make yourself at home using all outdoor facilities.

We will provide you with your unique keyless entry code before you arrive.

We are ideally situated for easy access to town by foot, car, or cycle as well as for exploration of the beaches and walks within the wider Whangarei area and beyond.

Pilgrim's Rest is a totally self contained flat. It has a fully functional kitchen and is suitable for short term or long term stays.

It is nestled on a hill overlooking bush and a wee lake. What's not to like.

The space

Kick back and relax in this modern, calm space. The space opens out to a beautiful rural outlook, banana trees and the Hikurangi Mountain. A short 5 minute drive to the iconic Kamo Village or 15 minutes to the Whangarei Town Basin. Equipped with a new kitchenette (no oven or hobb), a pod coffee machine and basic continental breakfast supplies. Parking at the door and a lockbox for ease. This studio is attached to our home, although it's completely separate and you'll have complete privacy.

This is a semi-self contained unit attached to our home. You will have parking at the door, a private space to sit and enjoy the sun outside and a new pocket spring queen bed . I am passionate about providing a clean, comfortable space for guest. Enjoy your morning coffee under the bananas or enjoy taking in the rural outlook. We love the peace and quiet of rural living, with the convenience of Kamo being minutes away. The door between our home and the guest suite is locked so you are completely private, yet we are available via text/message if you have questions, need directions or are looking for a restaurant recommendation. The heat pump control panel is attached to the wall; this turns the unit off/on, controls the temp etc.

Other things to note
The studio is attached to our home. Paul and I live with our three adult cats, Patches, Belle and Minky. Our place is set amongst farmland, you will see and hear animals. At night, in the Summer expect to hear frogs! There are often tui and kingfishers in the garden, as well as skinks.

This accommodation is a spacious two bedroom Apartment on the side of our house and is steps from the sea, with beach walks around a series of picturesque bays with native bush. There are restaurants and a grocery shop within walking distance. Very spacious accommodation for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families. There is a small kitchen unit with microwave, fridge, and Weber BBQ.

Mason Lane Apartment is your ideal base to explore magnificent Northland - situated at the entrance to the Whangarei Heads with its selection of beaches and bush walks. 10-12 mins back to Whangarei city and a short drive to many amazing beaches and walks. Close to several golf courses and 45 mins to the dive mecca of Tutukaka.

The Onerahi shopping centre is a few mins drive away with a supermarket, several takeaways, bakeries, chemist, wholesalers, book shop, restaurant. Top Sail restaurant is a few mins walk along the water - bookings essential well in advance. Flames Restaurant and Cafe is a few km away and covers breakfast through to dinner - bookings not required.
