Perfect location to stay in the Capital Region. Residential wooded Neighborhood in the country and close to all shopping nearby. We are in between exit 9 and exit 10 off of 87.

Tucked behind the main house and nestled between forest and open pasture, our guest cottage offers a peaceful, private retreat. On one side, you’ll enjoy the quiet beauty of the woods; on the other, views of our grazing sheep in the wide, open field.

This space is ideal for guests seeking a calm, nature-filled stay. Whether you're watching the wildlife, enjoying the sounds of the forest, or simply unwinding in the quiet, you'll find it to be a cozy and comfortable escape.

The space
You’ll have the entire guest cottage to yourself, offering complete privacy throughout your stay. We live on the property and are happy to assist with anything you might need. If we’re away, our caretaker stops by twice daily to tend to the animals and is available if any issues arise.

There’s convenient parking just steps from the cottage’s front porch. Inside, you’ll find a small but functional kitchen setup: a two-burner gas stovetop, microwave, and a compact fridge/freezer—perfect for preparing simple meals, including fresh eggs from our hens.

In the winter, the cottage stays warm and cozy thanks to radiant floor heating powered by our outdoor wood-burning furnace. No need to worry—we manage the furnace so you can simply relax and enjoy.

The bedroom features a comfortable queen-sized bed, ideal for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The guest cottage is all yours, but please do not enter the barn or any of the other buildings on the property.

Our chickens and sheep also live here. The chickens roam the property, you may hear them occasionally but there are no roosters.

There are 50 acres of forest behind our home, many creatures call this their home. We ask that guests do not roam the forest, as it is difficult to respect property lines and there are downed trees, etc. But there is an amazing park down the road with great paths.

The power/internet is great, unless there is a storm and the power gets knocked out. This only happens occasionally during significant storms.

The guest house is located on the Hudson River in the charming village of Coxsackie. The space has a fabulous sunrise view, two bedrooms, and a beautiful tiled bathroom with a tub. There is a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The location is within walking distance to a wine shop, restaurants and a coffee shop. The yard is lovely and there is a dock to sit on next to the water to enjoy the late afternoon sun. In summer months, access to the pool. Unrivaled location.

The space
The location is perfect for weekend visitors to explore the Hudson Valley area from. There is hiking in the Catskills, kayaking and boating on the river, art sculpture gardens to visit or the solitude of a quiet back yard. Eagles to watch! There are a few restaurants in town within walking distance and many in the neighboring river villages a short ride away. There is a BBQ grill available to use on the back porch any season, and table and chairs on the covered porch. Beautiful in any season, ships going up through the icy river in the winter and eagles eating fish on the ice. Close to skiing at Hunter and Windham Mountain, come back and take a jacuzzi.

The guests are allowed to use the back porch and deck. The guests may be allowed to use the pool in the summer months if they assume responsibility and sign a waiver. The guests may be allowed to use the access to the Hudson River at the beach for canoeing and kayaking if they assume responsibility and sign a waiver. There is plenty of room to park in the driveway or under the carport.

The Tree House Suite is separate from the main house. It offers privacy, quiet, and includes a King size bed, futon, sitting area, private bath, and kitchenette. It is on the second level and overlooks lush gardens, trees, and main places to enjoy the outside meditation, reading, etc.
Room provides water, juice, tea, coffee, breakfast bars, oatmeal, along with an assortment of fruit.
For a longer stay there is a washer and dryer on the premises for you to use.

Chatham , Valatie, and Kinderhook, is about 20 mins. away, which are quaint small towns. Hudson is 35 mins. away. It has museum of firefighters and antique shops. These are some fun places to go.

Come relax on our cozy homestead in upstate NY! Beautiful in all seasons, you are welcome to wander around the 8 acre property and/or use it as a home base to everything the Capital Region has to offer. Approximately 20 minutes to Albany, 15 minutes to Troy. Groceries, coffee shops, and restaurants are all a quick drive. 30 minutes to Jiminy Peak.

Please note we live on the property about 50 feet away in the main house. The property currently has dogs, chickens, honey bees and goats.

The space
This cottage was built back in 1857 along with the main farm house. The property has served many purposes through the years including an active farm, a commune in the 60s, a writing hub for the RPI student newspaper, stabled horses, and is now the start of a homestead for you to enjoy. The cottage has been recently renovated to give it a fresh feel and modern comforts. We hope you enjoy!

You are welcome to wander around the property and through the woods, but please remain on the property and be respectful to our neighbors.

The stone patio, fire pit, and grill outside the main house is a communal space with the Host. A dining area private to the AirBnB is located on the other side of the cottage.

Chickens: There is a chicken coop toward the back of the property that you are welcome to go see. Please note that it has an electric fence! Maintain a safe distance from this fence to prevent any shocks. Please do not disturb or attempt to touch any of the chickens on your own.

Goats: Goats are in the pen in the back of the property. Please do not feed or touch the goats on your own.

If you'd like to feed/interact with the animals, please let us know and we can accompany you if we are around!

Other things to note
We live in the main house about 50 ft from the cottage. We are often around working on the property and letting our dogs out. If you see us and have a question or need, please let us know!

Dogs are allowed, but they must be well behaved as well as friendly with other dogs and humans. Please let us know what pets you plan on bringing at the time of booking. We request that they remain leashed on the property. If they are to be left unattended in the cottage, they must be crated. Please note there is a fee of $50 per stay per pet.

If you are staying with us in the colder months, we suggest bringing slippers as the cottage is old and the floors can get chilly.

The space
We are located on the border of The Berkshires, MA and Columbia County, NY. The area boasts great views, small family-run farms, orchards, and rolling hills. You’ll love our place set in a four season area with things to do for all tastes. Shop and dine in nearby Lenox, West Stockbridge or Chatham, NY. The town of Hudson is an easy 1/2 h drive. Enjoy world famous cultural events at Tanglewood (only 15 minutes away), Jacob's Pillow and other Berkshire Valley gems. In the summer, hike mountain ridges or go for a swim in nearby Queechy Lake. Have fun skiing in the winter. We are close to four ski resorts (Catamount, Butternut, Jiminy Peak and Bousquet).

Our cottage is cozy and light-filled on a quiet road surrounded by open fields. It is the guesthouse on our property, but is private and separate from the main house. The bedroom has a full bed, and the common area has two twin-sized day beds. There is a working woodburning stove, and an open kitchen. The place is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and we are happy to have your pet. Please note that there will be an extra $50 one time charge for bringing any animal ( added to regular cleaning charge)
